Welcome Everyone! Seeing that Boyfriends XV was getting rather long, I thought I should start a new thread. Will someone do the honors to post our mascot and banners?

Where is everyone? Everyone played hooky while I was away? I just checked the mouse traps and found one misbehaving mouse named Chemy. Hmm.....what's the proper punishment? Should I boil it or fry it? I had such a wonderful vacation! Experiencing so many different things across California that I haven't experienced before. I feel *I* can write a novel now. :-) Anyone from Taiwan who knows a famous signer called Lee Jian Fu? The guy who sang "The Dragon's Descendants"? I ran into him in a Palo Alto hotel. I thought him looked familiar but couldn't remember his name. Since we're the only two in the court yard (I was having breakfast and reading newspaper and he's just having coffee), I asked him. He told me. He's quite friendly. He looked exactly the same as his picture more than 10 years ago but gained some weight. He no longer sings. He said he lives in Taiwan and is in internet business (everyone's in internet business these days) and was there on a business trip. I told him I used to be his fan (while I was in high school). We chatted several minutes and parted ways. What a small world! Mano, I notice you put the Red Violin poster underneath your name. Did you see the movie? How do you think of it? I posted my review. I'm interested in hearing your comments.

Now we know how important the director is ... Off topic, I don't know about Lee, but I know the song, "The Dragon's Descendants", if we talk about the same song. "There are a group of people in the remote east, they are the descendants of the dragon"? I think Hou De-jian is the composer. The guy who left Taiwan for mainland. He was detained after "June 4" and then went back to Taiwan (I think).

We missed you, can't you tell. Out of respect for you not being here, we haven't posted a thing, ha ha. It's dry season so we're all stuck in a rut sort of, least I am. Nope I haven't seen the Red Violin though I am trying to make time to see it one of these days. I'll post my reviews once that happens. I used the TRV poster 'cause I really loved MK's program the first time I saw it and can't wait to see the finished product once the FS season starts. BTW, do you know if the Ducks ever featured a figure skater during intermissions at all. I remember the Rangers once had Sarah Hughes as a guest skater around two years ago before she even was heard of in the National scene. Just always pictured MK skating before a hockey crowd in a pre-season game. Imagine this upcoming pre-season, the Ducks vs. Phoenix at Anaheim. There is 7 minutes left to the intermission and the Zamboni is making it's last lap around the Pond. Without much pomp or circumstance, a figure, in black leotard with slashes of sheer red swirls, emerges from the Duck's empty bench. She follows the Zamboni around in a dance almost like a Swan following a clumsy tugboat. The crowd slowly realizes who is skating and is entranced by the comical scene. Shouts of "Michelle" is suddenly heard. The figure acknowledges the shouts with a smile and a wave, but continues skating around the ice. She is unaware that players and coaches from both the Ducks and the Cayotes decided to cut their meetings short to watch her, this storied champion who's touched so many lives with her courage, character, and her selfless skating. They say she gives of herself to one and all when she's on the ice. They say she bears her soul. They wanted to find out for themselves, firsthand, what the fuss is all about. They found out soon enough. The lights dim, the crowd settles and the figure skates slowly to the middle of the rink. No introduction is needed because her presence is felt by everyone from the players' benches all the way up to the nose-bleed section. All eyes were upon her. The music starts, a haunting voice followed by strains of violin wafts through the now quiet arena as the figure begins in a spiral. The spell is cast. "It was so quiet I know I heard pin drop." Jeremy Roenick of the Phoenix Cayotes said after Michelle's performance. The rest of his teammates agreed. They as well as the Ducks joined in the long standing ovation that erupted after her performance. The Ducks remembered seeing her skate her short program, Fate of Carmen, back in January at the Pond. This was the first time they saw a full fledged long program complete with seven triples (including two triple/triple combos and a high double axle with a long exit) performed so perfectly with mesmerizing artistry, live. (BTW, the Ducks are more familiar with figure skating elements ever since their Captain started dating the Swan.) Go Figure. Other notable news: Paul Kariya was the first out on the ice to greet Michelle Kwan. As expected, catcalls and whistles as well as declarations of "Michelle, dump Paul and marry me!!!" were heard around the Arena. Sports Illustrated captured the blushing couple perfectly and featured the pic under a caption "King and Queen of the Ice." (BTW, Teemu Selanne's hand managed to get into the pic) Not to be outdone, other Phoenix and Ducks players tried to impress Michelle Kwan by attempting figure skating moves. It was reported that Tkatchuk of the Cayotes and Rooch of the Ducks had great extension on their spirals. For Imzadi, Hockey fans and players have dubbed Michelle in her skintight suit as "Six of Nine" in honor of her 6.0's, and the fact that #9 Paul Kariya is her man. They compared her to Star Trek's Seven of Nine because of how her great bod was emphasized by her leotard (much to the dismay of a suddenly possesive Paul Kariya who had to grin and bear it throughout her performance. It could have been worse since she could have worn her red velvet costume from the World's gala which Michelle playfully suggested to him earlier.) A small group of people were spotted picketing outside the Pond with signs that read "Ban the Red Violin costume." They were quietly led away by police. Both teams gathered around Michelle Kwan for pictures and to present a check for local charities. Sportswriters noted that the Ducks and Cayotes game was one of the more exciting and well played games they've seen in a while. Both teams exhibited great plays with interesting moves, passes and shots. The teams credited Michelle Kwan's influence in their playmaking. Paul Kariya's stats include 3 goals (a hat trick), 2 assists and two minutes in the penalty box for punching a Cayote for getting too close to Michelle Kwan earlier when the pictures were being taken. Final Box score, Ducks win 5-3 over Phoenix. ESPN's Sportcenter, Dan Patrick says "We leave you with Michelle Kwan performing her Long Program 'the Red Violin' from Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim. Last but not least, the above is totally fictional. The Ducks will be meeting Phoenix for a pre-season game at the Pond, that's the only thing that is real. The other stuff is just wishful thinking as usual.

We missed you! It was not hard to keep this house in order, thanks for setting those mousetraps. As to the mouse named Chemy, she is the naughtiest of all. I suggest you boil her first and then fry her. “Crispy Pata” a famous Filipino dish is delicious! Mano, what a great movie you made! Thanks for inviting me to watch the preview of the movie before editing. I get to see the different scenes before everyone else. When are we going to see the continuation of the epic saga? Kooky, since the security guard stopped me from taking more picture of Michelle, the 36 shots roll of film is still not used up. I will need to finish up the roll of film quick and get it develop. I will surely share with you all if it turn out nice.

Mano, you seem to be out of the rut. Now, I expect more product delivery within a week! :-) Michelle has started summer school. It's highly unlikely for her to do an exhibition during the intermission. Since it's not for a charity cause, the Ducks probably are not willing to pay her at her regular appearance fee. But it's good for a hearty laugh. :-) Mano, yeah, that's the song. That song made both Lee and Ho. Lee was in college at the time, only 19 or so. He went on singing for many years, while in college and millitary service, but none of his other songs was as famous as "The Dragon's Descendants". He has a beautiful voice. Lee's father was a deputy minister of Taiwan. Hence, he's considered well-born and had a very clean image. Ho's was tarnished after he "defected" to mainland. I was a big fan of Lee's in high school. It's funny to meet him so many years later in a place so far away from Taipei.

Hope your vacation was good. Hey!! I'm the director!!! Yingshan is the producer. Bad Wonder! Bad Wonder! j/k hee hee hee Wow Mano! Does this mean you're out of your rut? Maybe you can help me with mine. (G, okay? Maybe PG at the most.) That story was hilarious. Now Crispy Pata, I mean, Chemy, you have to get out of your rut and get back in the lab.

I'm all for it, better cook extra guys. BTW Yingshan, Wonder is the one you are supposed to be refering to on your second paragraph. Time to use the cool "Edit" feature Heather and Jenny provided for us. And thanks people, much appreciated. Calling Chemy, Magenta's got some goodies for ya, prepared lovingly by Yingshan.

0/Tokyo/Flats/3170/boiledchemy.jpg> Let's negotiate, FatCat er Yingshan. Back to my normal nonexistent-wage 12-h workday, re-wear my ball&chain fashion accessory, and post 1 to 2 pics per week with a smile on my face. (BTW, I love my sweatshop, er photolab). All these for NO "crispy pata." Deal? Mano, what's this "Edit" option? I can edit my post and I found that out when Yingshan came back? (BTW, welcome back YS). One more thing, Mano: "Paul Kariya's stats include 3 goals (a hat trick), 2 assists and two minutes in the penalty box for punching a Cayote for getting too close to Michelle Kwan earlier when the pictures were being taken." Now does that disqualify PK from Lady Byng troph?

Chemy, LOL!!! Littlepebble, I see ... the director is the one who needs a whip behind her not the producer.
Yingshan, Ho "defected" to mainland? Hehehe, maybe at that time. I think the guy is an idealist. I saw the Red Violin. Like it, but at some point the music is a little bit too high and sharp to me. I guess the music is trying to portrait the turbulence. Overall, a wonderful movie. BTW, I don't know how to comment on the brief scene of culture revolution since I was born after that. The closest experience I had similar to that was the '89 student movement. I was a college student in Beijing at that time and felt very excited. My parents tried really hard to talk me out because the lawless scene a few weeks before the tragic crackdown reminded them a lot of culture revolution: a society in chaos.

Change the output to 4 pictures a week, then we have a deal. :-) I just got another tidbit on PK. My co-worker who lives in his neighborhood saw him last week on street. He's driving a burgendy '86 Lexus with gold license plate. She told her daughter to make a wild turn so they could pull alongside of his car. :-) She said that's the first time she got a good look of him and she said he's soooo cute. She also said he lives in a condo. We both wonder what he's doing in a condo and an old Lexus with his paycheck. He can afford a much bigger house and a newer car. He really lives modestly. I guess I'll pay special attention to condos in Tustin area when I'm house-hunting in a year or two. :-) Thanks for all the welcome-backs!

i know that he has a house cause he said that his sister help design and decorate his house. but that '86 lexus is still boggles me. i knew he had a red lexus but i really didn't expect '86 more like '96. i guess he just likes the simple life.

During an offseason? (Narrator: Chemy suddenly collapsed on the floor, convulsing from the shock as she uttered "4 pix, 4 pix." Just as suddenly, she recovered). NO problem, Yingshan :-). 1986? Lexus didn't exist then. Must be 1996, when the world and a Duck (mightiest of them all) witnessed the Greatest FS SP & LP in history. Yes, in the Duck's garage sits a '96 Romanza Red Lexus. Hmmm, a condo? How far is the condo from UCLA campus? Paging Imzadi.

Is that Romanza Red or Red Violin Red? I think you could do a whole line of MK cars in Salome Blue with Gold trim, Lyra Angelica Blue with a 6.0 engine, Rachmaninoff Two-tone Red and Cream, Ariane Purple (not to be confused with Dream of Desdemona Purple), Fate of Carmen Black, East of Eden White, One More Time Cream, Taj Mahal Garnet with Gold trim. And for Mary Kay salespeople: Rondo Capriccioso Pink :-) I will put my order in for a 1999 Ford Mustang in Dante's Prayer Blue please!

Yes, 4 pix a week. Blizzard, that's me. The same co-worker who lives in PK's neighborhood saw him running by one time and he's polite enough to say "Good morning". She not only lives in his neighborhood, her daughter's co-worker is a friend of PK's. That's where she got the info on the Lexus. They spotted the burgendy Lexus with gold trim first and started staring since they heard PK's car is a burgendy (not Romanza red :-))Lexus with gold trim. annabelle, it's a condo. In conversation, it's common for people to say "my house" even though they're not living in a single family home. Lexus didn't exist in '86? That must be a '96 then. LOL. Marcella, hate to correct you. But being a designer, I'm a tab strick on the colors. :-) It's Salome purple, Ariane levender, Taj Maha magenta and Red Violin rust. I personally like a Jaguar in the Disney swing dance scarlet red. :-)

Ohh I forgot about that lovely shade of red :-) Please don't rat me out to the fashion police! I would hate to see what my punishment would be. LOL Was it a Lexus that Michelle's parents got her? Does this mean that they both drive them now? Does that mean that they will have license plates that say his and hers? Or 9ismine and 6.0 Rulz?

For some reason everytime I log in, I feel like buying a new car (like a TRV SUV) and eat at the same time, wonder why... Let's add some crazyness for a while. You all remember the Kariya GF hoaxes? Then you must remember "Anu"gate. The discussion was revived (and died a quick death) at a Kariya messageboard I was visiting recently. Might as well let you guys know what almost ruined my summer in 1998. http://kodie.simplenet.com/ttbul491.htm Weird Wild stuff, ain't it.
