You have shown both courage and grace even when your heart was broken. That says a lot about the character of

I think this is as good a time as any to break out this little blurb I wrote a few years ago for a writing workshop, just in case Michelle does end up visiting MKF. Our prompt was to write about who we love and why.

"I love Michelle Kwan because she taught me about life. About winning and losing; about trying your best and being thankful for what you have.

I love her because her body can become anger or sorrow or joy. Because in her beauty I have courage to search for my own. Because her smile reminds me there is a God, and He has a plan for us. Because her skating shows me that God knows who I am, and knows the best way to reach my heart.

I love Michelle Kwan because it's not a coincidence that I have watched her grow up on TV for 10 years. I love her because she reminds me that to be human is to fall--and also to fly. Because she shows me that tears can be both happy and sad--and that both are beautiful.

What can I say to Michelle who is having a difficult time? Do I say anything other than to offer an encouraging word? Perhaps the answer lies in my own faith.

Weather conscious of it or not, I know all of us are eternal beings united in spirit and strength. God (no matter what that may be to each of us) offers all of us comfort and strength. And because God is with us every moment, we’re all promised that each day will be brighter than the day before.
