Actually - you did not correct your whole post -- please see your last sentences which again say Limbaugh said this.

And you are assuming that the person who posted in Nobama is a fan -- so might want to check that as well because we wouldn't want MKF to get sued.

Your post above proves what I already knew. While there was a time that I respected you for your opinions even if I didn't agree -- I can no longer do so -- you tore someone to shreds over a set of quotes -- yet your original post still reads as if Limbaugh said something he didn't. I do not support him but I appreciate hypocrites even less.

I feel sorry for you.

Actually, I said nothing about your post until I was criticized for not editing my post (which was based on your version of what Rush said).
And I did not ask you to edit it; my comment was directed at the other poster (who seemed concerned that Rush was being misquoted).

You are correct; i forgot about the last sentence, which has been fixed.
I also changed "fan" to "listener."

I thought board rules were you couldn't board drag -- wouldn't that also mean you can't go into a thread and pull someone's comments into another thread?

Just a reminder -- this thread was started because Obama made insensitive comments about special olympians -- in case anyone forgot.

I said nothing about your Nobama post needing to be edited; i felt your clarification in this thread was sufficient.

And that's why i initially didn't go back & edit my post, because I felt your clarification explained why I had posted the way I did.

But, when requested by someone else, I edited.

Well, if I were allowed to go into that thread to post,
I wouldn't have started this thread.
That's the problem with the "NO" threads; there's no way to respond to misinformation except by starting a separate thread for it.

I apologize Moxie -- Iknew we had moderators -- didn't know we had board clearer uppers.

Again -- if it acts like a duck and quacks and quacks and quacks and quacks and quacks and quacks and quacks and quacks and quacks and quacks -- then its probably Moxie.

Thank goodness for the NO threads or we wouldn't get a moment's piece. Case in point...this thread.

Not entering the pro or no bama threads, but this got me to thinking about the Imus case. Wasn't he fired for making insensitive remarks? Not in any way comparing the content of the remarks, only comparing the similarities of how often these days we hear of people in the public eye saying such obviously stupid things: things I am smart enough to teach my children NOT to say. Also reminds me of the staffer gaffe where the staffer was making lewd gestures with a cardboard cutout of Hillary. Is it me or is this a problem that folks have these days with opening mouth and inserting their feet.

Yes, he was. Wasn't Howard Cosell fired for using the term "little monkey" to describe a football player? How about Isiah Washington's gay slurs on the "Grey's Anatomy" set, or Mel Gibson's anti-semetic remarks? Or Michael Richard's rants?

We should ALL be offended by ALL of these remarks..whether they be racial, sexual, or about differently abled people.

Yes, she supports her own child.

As governor, it would be nice if she also supported other peoples' special children. I would understand her position on the stimulus money if she had rejected it all. But accepting the money for infrastructure projects & then rejecting the money for education (including for special needs kids)?
That makes no sense to me.

Reminder to Quackie Quackerton -- you started the post by going into the Nobama thread -- grabbing a post -- assuming you knew what it mean -- you little fact finder when it fits your agenda -- not so much when it doesn't -- and stated in one line Obama was inappropriate - but have spent multiple posts doing your infamous red herring tactics -- it's a journalist thang!

Reminder of the issue: Obama was demeaning. As to other people's careers being harmed -- someone from the special olympics would have to be up in arms -- they are not. Obama is getting a special bye on this one -- and the other one -- and the one before.

Of course not, it was Tim Shriver.

A reminder: There is no need to take this to a personal level.

As far as assuming the meaning of the Nobama post: As the person who wrote it has said, the original Nobama post contained incorrect information.
It has now been corrected & I have edited my post so that it comments on the corrected information.

As for Obama, I will say it again: He made a mistake.

Do you think he should lose his job over this incident?

If not, then what should he do now?

Yes he did, and he realized his mistake and apologized for it -- although perhaps it provides a tantalizing glimpse into how he views the disabled. The real problem here is the hypocrisy of the media, which gave him a pass on a gaffe for which they would have called for Mr. Bush's head on a platter. Had Mr. Bush made the identical remark, steam would have been billowing out of Keith Olbermann's ears as he proclaimed Mr. Bush "The Worst Person in the Universe!" It will be interesting to see whether the media keep giving Mr. Obama passes on this sort of thing once his political capital evaporates and his poll numbers drop significantly.

Also, just want to add that when BO has no teleprompter in front of him where he is just reading, those are not his words or his true thoughts so when he has no teleprompter to tell him what he is suppost to say and he is just going off cuff he always blows it and has to come back and say I'm sorry, or the back up team has to apologize for him and say that he was tired and didn't mean to say that, or he has to say that he mis-spoke.

I'm with Rick, if it had been Mr. Bush that said this he would have been deep fat fried before the Chin's show was even over. But I must add here President Bush would have been in DC taking care of business and not on some entertainment show talking about his bowling game. I heard that President Bush even gave up golfing during his time in office to take care of business, he thought it wasn't appropriate to be out playing with so much at stake with our country.

And I'm still steaming over the fact that he flew to Chicago to take Michelle out to their favorite restaurant for Valentines Day. What ever happened to lets cut out our wasteful driving and tighten our belts?

In response to media's response to Obama vs. how they would have responded over Bush, the difference is crystal. Hypocrisy abounds.

I am not an Obama supporter, but I think he's kicking himself over this one.

BTW, I really don't see the need for starting a thread over yet another comment from the Nobama thread, but was this one fun to read.

Valentine's Day (a Saturday) was during the D.C. break for President's Day (the following Monday). All federal employees had a three-day weekend off and some (including the Supreme Court) had a four-day break. I guess he could have spent the weekend in the Oval Office calling world leaders on the phone, but that would have just about been it, as far as official business that could have been conducted.

Obama has a computer-equipped office both in Air Force One & at his home in Chicago. What is the big deal about spending a weekend in Chicago & taking his wife out for dinner on a Saturday night?
