Beautiful! Go and have fun! And remember, most of us MKFers, at one time and another, have met Michelle and been nervous about it. She's down-to-earth and friendly and she'll make you feel at ease, so don't worry about it a bit. And remember to say "hi" from the Forum! And let us know what happens!

I stopped by EWIP yesterday (just to look at the trophy case--it's awesome) and saw the sign that the rink was going to be closed today. Have a great time!!

Hello everyone! I just came back from the awards presentation. I'm just going to give a mini-quickie outline of what happened. I'm sorry but I'm tired (but so happy!) because I had to work last night, went home to change, then drove to Artesia, and I have to work tonight again. So, the pictures are going to have to wait because I'm going to sleep first. =p Maybe tomorrow at the earliest. I wasn't gonna post until tomorrow but I feel bad leaving you guys hanging without any info. I know you guys are all MK starved here and needed to be fed; I feel obligated.

Anyway, I'm just going to say the highlights of my experience. Very private event. The bleachers were not even filled. It was really an invitation-only type of event. Only the family members of the winners, and some media. Michelle wore a black shirt dress, with black ankle strap stilettos, (I know you guys are sooo into what she's wearing =p) and had her hair down. Awards presentation lasted about an hour. MK gave a little speech when she was introduced. After the program, she had a little talk with a reporter, then went upstairs to the trophy room to take pictures with essays winners. Both Danny and Estella were there. GREAT parents! My gosh--very, very classy and amiable people. Got into a little conversation with the mom. Saw a glimpse of NNN- I think she was working out or something, i'm not sure. She left right away, didn't get to take a pic. She's so cute, she's like this little bite-size adorable creature, with great aviator glasses to match. =) anyway, MK took pictures with winners and sponsors. And then ME! She is so gorgeous and very natural. Details on that later!

I will edit my post tomorrow to add more details. My eyes are drooping, I can't type no more! =) More chit chat tomorrow after work!

Oh yah, little teaser (if someone hadn't posted it yet)...she was not in Florida yesterday for COI...

And for those who said she was jumping already...she's not.

I do not want to start any rumors and misinterpretation of any kind. And please do not read into it either. I will only say what I have been told. Her hip was hurting... And please, she looked awesome in her stilettos...=) did not see her limping nor hurting. There was no sign of physical weakness of any kind. That's the most healthiest "injured" person I have ever seen. I work in critical care, I have an eye for those types of things.

Michelle Kwan is the epitome of class, grace, and integrity. I cannot think of any other words to describe her. You know what. She's just....indescribable.

What a great report and a wonderful opportunity. Thanks you for taking time out to post here. I'm sorry to hear she's not jumping at all yet. It's been almost 4 months since the Oly injury. Glad she's able to give it all the time it needs.

Will the winning essays posted somewhere?

Looking forward to the full report!

After reading your mini-post, all I have to say is: Michelle Kwan doesn't need the Olympic Gold Medal.....MICHELLE KWAN IS THE OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL

Thank you OxyJenn for your report! I can't wait to hear more.

I'm stating to think that the injury is nagging, and that she has some good days and some bad ones. Hopefully she's not in too much pain now. It's been almost four months since she sustained the injury. I wouldn't be surprised if she does not start jumping again until after COI ends.

Here's a link to an article about the event. There is at least one quote from MK. There weren't any pics w/the article, though.

Like Michelle, she knows how to turn her foot out when posing for a picture!

Great picture! Interesting what the kids chose to wear to meet Michelle. The girl in the white dress obviously thought it was a big occasion!
