I have just finished watching her short program and it seems that something is missing or gone.
The flexibility on the spiral is not her best one and the complicated turn on the last spiral from worlds 2005 is out!
The camel sit spin is less affective, but more accurate (level 4?, if the answer is yes KWAN should change her camel) and the ending spins are not so hard and effective, just many variations.
If she got 65 at nationals, I cannot see her go for gold in Turin, she will need an excellent long…..
BTW, when done to perfection, KWAN SP will beat them all, including Slutskaya with the slow step sequence, which really suits the fast paste of Totentanz. :D

Yes, and her footwork into her 2 footed triple flip looked easy and slow. MK appears to beefed up her footwork into her flip into the short...hopefully we will see it and she will hit it.

Yes, I couldn't help but compare it with Michelle's flawed Totentanz, which even with flaws was more dynamic and exciting than any of the shorts. When Michelle skates this full out, she is going to leave quite a few people in the dust.

like i said, a typical Sasha SP (well, actually, a typical Sasha SP is pretty damn good). a typical Sasha performance. Good but just a lil thing here and there. still, the best of US right now.

When Paul was discussing the components, did it say that Sashas footwork was a level 2?

I don't recall what Paul said, but, when I saw a breakdown of what Sasha was doing it did say that her footwork is a level 2. I remember it because I was rather surprised.

this is wut was shown on ESPN, dunno if everything was right...

3z2t - 7.3
fw into 3f - 5.5
flying camel (level3) - 2.3 (i'm assuming this was wrong b/c she did a flying sit spin no? and that looked level 4 to me?)
2a - 3.3
spiral - level 3 (is that right?) - 3.1
layback level 3 (is that right too?) - 1.8 (wow is a layback really worth that little)
SL fw - level 2 - 2.3 (she had level 2 fw i bel. in Paris)
combo spin lvl 4 - 3.5

yeah, i think so. i was also really surprised that her step sequence was lv2. i thought she woudlve tweaked it out to lv3. i thought sasha would go for lv 4 spiral as well considering her flexibility and biellemann.

I think they were just looking at Sasha's element sheet from TEB because I think she got level 4 for her spiral sequence. I know I heard Peggy said she got 5.69 for it, and the only way that occurred if she received level 4.

Michelle can definitely catch Sasha in several areas in both the SP and LP.

Her spins have lost a tremendous amount of speed over the past year. Even at 2005 Nationals, I noticed that Michelle's spins were faster than Sasha's.

This is what everyone is forgetting. This is an old program. It should be WOW by now, but is is not.

Why does anyone do a layback in the LP then, if it's worth so little points???

i think in the LP skaters usually do combination spins, and layback being part of it. combo spins get lot more points.

I downloaded this and watched it...

And IA...it's an old program that she should know forwards and backwards and be able to add some "umph" to it. But she looked kinda lethargic, maybe cuz of the flu? Her spins are usually top-rate but they were OK only.

Even when she hasn't been sick, her spins have slowed down dramatically over the past year.

I noticed it at her first competition of the season.
