Do any of you remember her from a few years back? I think she went to Nationals. Anyway, she was from Minnesota, and one of my friends here at work was her friend! She told me that awhile ago, and it has just taken me awhile to post it. It looks like she still competes, although on what level I have no idea.

Angie skates in Duluth, MN. She did qualify to Nationals in the late 90's I think and then again in 2003, but instead choice to compete at the World University Games which were that same week and she placed 2nd. She has been a senior for a while. She didn't make it to Nationals this past year...I think she was 5th or 6th at Sectionals so she was close. She's a real pretty skater and has a really good triple lutz and triple toe/triple toe.

Angie Lien qualified for 2005 Nationals at the age of 24 (she placed 15th of 18 senior ladies). Her triple lutz takes off on a true outside edge -- wonderful to see! She is still competing as well as coaching these days. At the Liberty club competition in PA last month, she skated a really solid short program (landed all her jumps including 3lutz-2toe combo) but had a bit of a rough free skate.
Here's what she said in an interview about her first Senior Nationals experience:
Nationals in 1999 was just amazing 'cause I was competing with Michelle Kwan, and she just happened to be on my warm-up for Short Program. It was such an honor to be competing with someone that great. The week in Salt Lake City was really fun.
I believe she has graduated (or is about to) from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Lien is a wonderful example of a well-rounded college athlete/skater/coach and I enjoy her skating.

Angie Lien was at this last years Nationals. That was one of the things I really enjoyed about Nationals. It wasn't just the top three or four that you usually see on television, it was ALL of them. And I was able to watch some of the lesser known skaters, and that was quite enjoyable. They are all talented skaters, especially to make nationals.

I've just started working on my scrapbook for Nationals and I have a picture of Angie from a practice. I enjoyed watching her skate, too. She was a real hard worker in every practice I saw her. When you attend a Nationals, you get a real appreciation of the work and dedication of every skater who makes it there. It's a tremendous accomplishment and every one of them should be very proud of themselves.
