Does anyone have any news on (or rumors) on Bebe's training. She's my favorite "youngster" and I think she would be the best candidate for that third olympic spot. But I can't find any forums dedicated to her or any news posted on her fan site about her training. What kinds of jump combos has she been practicing? What are her programs like? Is she working on any interesting spin or spiral variations? I think in artistry she almost up there with Michelle and Sasha. Please let me know if you of any kind of rumor or anything, I'm very interested to know.
Thanks

Liang usually debuts her season at the Golden West club competition in Culver City, CA on Labor Day weekend. She was just assigned to Nebelhorn Trophy this past week (as a Senior B warmup event before Skate America).
Her athlete bio at
www.usfigureskating.org/A...sp?id=2298 (http://www.usfigureskating.org/AthleteBio.asp?id=2298)
gives her program music -- "Firedance" by David Foster (SP) and "Hope, Romance" by Apocalyptica and "Oblivion" by Astor Piazolla (FS).

Bebe brings alot of energy to the ice.
IMO-a very underrated skater.
I'd like to think her future is bright.
After Nats last year, Pru and I walked with her and her mother to the mass transit train and rode with them to the airport.
She's very quiet and well-mannered.

I am mr pru.
My best friend on this planet who I'm head over heels over and who I've known since she was four years old is prudence19.
While at Dallas in '03-the magnificent kwanette took a liking to us. Since I was with prudence-kwanette dubbed me mr pru. :rollin :rollin
I loved it and it has stuck with me throughout all the events we've attended since.
Needless to say-prudence19 gets a real big kick out of it!!
Your interest is greatly appreciated.

I'm quite sure you will.
Either at the luncheon or the arena or practices.
All of us MKF'ers stick out out like sore thumbs.
I've often wondered what REGULAR skating fans think about us.:b ;)
Looking forward to seeing you and everyone else.
WE CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S.-Are you going to Campbells in Minnesota? If not, you should try to make it. There's nothing like watching a brand new Michelle Kwan program unfold before your very eyes!

i hate to say it but Bebe has been disappointin... She brought a great spark and energy and hope when she first popped onto the scene (as many other new skaters), but she never truly stepped up to the challenge. After Sarah's gone, the third spot on the US team has been wide open for the past 3 seasons, and its really unfortunate that she hasnt seized the opportunity. (I really hope she would... )

I saw her training a few weeks ago, she looks great, fit and all. I didn't hear her music since they didn't want anyone near the ice. I think her mom was there with her. Also, she was doing tons of spins and neat stretch/Sasha type of spins. She did a few jumps and landed most of them. She looked really serious and just doing stuff on her own.

Thanks for the reply all. Glad to hear she's healthy and training hard. I seems the the USFSA has written her off but let's hope she can prove them wrong. Who knows, a strong showing at Nebelhorn (sp?) and SA might get her Nikodinov SC spot. Anyway, only time will tell.

I think that's more than a little harsh given the amount of time Bebe has been forced to take off from competition due to serious injuries. Saying she has "never truly stepped up to the challenge" when both her training and her competition have been hobbled by her inability to do some of the jumps for fear of further injury and/or extreme pain seems to imply some lack in either Bebe's talent or her work ethic.
It's possible that the USFSA hasn't given up on her, but that they're waiting for her to regain the full aresenal of triple jumps she had when she first appeared on the senior scene.

I was REALLY impressed with Bebe's SP last season.

I agree with Kwanluv and Mr. Pru. Bebe's SP was brilliant, and I believe she has a bright future if she can get and stay healthy. She's very young yet.
I think we have a lot of talented young ladies moving up the ranks. Not another Michelle of course, but no one expects that. It will be interesting to see how Bebe, Kimmie, Little Hughes and all the rest develop over the next four or five years.

Bebe is great and I was very sad for her when she was dealing with all those injuries. Her SP last year was wonderful!!! :D
Now that she is training with Frank, I hope she gets the 3rd spot for the Olys!
Mr. Pru and Skatesindreams - I'm surprised that you two didn't meet in Portland! I hung out with both of you, but you didn't meet each other? Curious...
Mr. Pru - did you and Pru go to the MKF luncheon?

Bebe's what 16 years old? Umm I think she has a few years to prove herself. She is still a youngin and I look forward to seeing many a great exciting fast dramatic programs form her. She knows how to keep the energy throughout a program which makes her wonderful and enjoying to watch.
I loved loved loved her "Harry Potter" short from last season. I wish she was keeping it another year. It was so her. So often a skater doesn't find the right music and it affects the program. That has been Jenny's problem. I think Michelle and Sasha had a slight issue of that in their long programs last season.

Yes, we went to the luncheon.
I'm the world's worst remembering names and faces. It usually takes me a while to get them down pat.
I'm sure as soon as I see skatesindreams the memory will come back.
I must've done done a little more brain damage in my 20's that I realized.:smokin :hat ;) :p :eek :lol

Has anyone heard any news about her grandmother? IIRC, she switched coaches from Christy Ness to Carroll/Congremi to be closer to her grandmother, who was ill, and I was just wondering if the grandmother has recovered.

I'd like to see Bebe work with Lori Nichol. Does anyone know if they have worked together before? I thought she might, since frank is coaching her.
I hope she does great this year :)

:rollin mr pru. I'm sure many of us could say the same.
I thought Bebe's SP last year was a stick of dynamite. I'm hoping for a rocket ship this season. All the best to her, and may she be one of the other best American ladies to make it to Torino (Michelle being the first, of course).
ETC: another typo for a change :b

With Angela out, and Amber's chances of making ot the Olympics about as likely as me winning the lottery, Bebe is definitely my pick for the 3rd spot. She is such a sweet girl and such a hard worker. When I was working with Tiffany Chin, often times Bebe's lessons were right before mine or right after mine, and to see her work ethic out there on the ice was just amazing for such a young girl. Her mom is great to. So unlike many of the skating moms.
I hope Bebe has a great season!!!!!

don't mean to burst your bubble, but even if angela were competing this season, her chance to make the olympic team would have been the same as amber's (which is none)
i'm so rooting for bebe to make the team!! she deserves it! IMO she should have won the bronze, not kimmie this year.

uglygreekgoddess, how did Angela have zero chance of making the team? Angela's marks from SA were better than Kimmie's and Emily's at Jr World. Who else do you expect to be on the team?
