View Full Version : Tarasova leaving Simsbury....

According to a thread on FSU, Tatianna Tarsova has been packing up her home that the rink in Simsbury leases to her.
It is said that she had Alexi come over on his last swing through Simsbury and pack up all of his belongings that she had been storing for him in her basement since 2002 because she would be moving soon.
Also second hand source says she has been hired on as a coach at East West Ice Palace.
Time will tell, but it makes sense to me, so she can help with Kwan's choreography.

I read that thread too and I caught the one where it said she was gonna be coaching in Artesia, but I think that person was kidding. Because below her post she put "Tee Hee JK Tee Hee".

This is interesting. I will be excited to see what comes of Tarasava's possible move. It would be great for Michelle to have her around to tweek the choreography throughout the fall. :)

I read the posts on FSU, but I don't know what to make of them -- at least the part about her moving to SoCal and coaching at Artesia. If it's true, would Shizuka come and train there to refine her programs? I really don't know if I can see that as a likelihood. Earlier this year I had read reports that Tarasova was going to be moving back to Russia, but maybe that was just one of those stories that keep surfacing with TT. (Though there were several stories this summer where Yagudin was quoted as saying that he was moving back to Russia as well.) Guess I'll just have to "wait and see" what develops.
The "tee hee" after the post didn't make me think it wasn't serious as much as the "my uncle's sister's friend's daughter's rinkmate" was the supposed source. And that's an exact quote. :lol

Alexei never said he was moving back to Russia, he said this summer he would spend more time in Russia. If he ever moves back to Russia, I doubt it will be before his SOI contract ends. JIMO.
But wow, I sure didn't see this coming. I always thought Tatiana would move after this season, probably to Russia like she has wanted for some time, but never before. I wonder where she's going to. Unless she suddenly got ice time in Russia, I would say she's staying in the US...

I won't believe it, until its confirmed. BUT if it is true, that would be really cool :D

IceSo: Maybe she DID get ice time in Russia, because someone in the FSU thread (not the joker) said that TT's "belongings were being shipped to Russia." Or perhpas she has decided to try the "live simple" strategy. If it's California, she may have shipped her furs to Russia at least. :b

Yeah, I just saw that last tidbit too, so I think that settles it. Wow, I so didn't see this coming this soon.
She only has Andrei and a dance team now as students... I wonder if she's considering retiring :( There have been rumours Piseev is going to leave the Russian federation and her name has been one of the ones pointed to replace him too.

If Tarasov were to replace Piseev as head of the Russian skating fed, that really WOULD be quite a change! I would think that Moscow (or St. Petersburg) couldn't be much further from Japan than Connecticut is, if Shizuka is still doing training with TT. I just looked up the mileage and Tokyo to Moscow is actually about 2,000 miles less than Tokyo to NYC (4600 miles vs. 6700). To me that makes the most sense, considering her remaining skaters.

Yes, it would be totally :eek if she ended up in the federation after 2006, especially because Irina Rodnina has been the name thrown around for so long. In a way it would be funny, considering the bad relations between Tatiana and Piseev :evil
I don't dare to make any more guesses these days though, just the partnerships who formed this season are enough to make us :eek :eek :eek

I personally hope she makes the East West Ice Palace her home. That means more time with Michelle. If what we have heard all summer is true.

All kidding aside, there was a report on the AYDG based on a translated interview, where Yags said that Tarasova was going to Moscow.

You said "Piseev" and "retirement" in the same sentence just to tease me didn't you? Piseev will hang onto power until it's ripped from his grasp.

I'm pretty sure (99.99%) that only way that TT would have a home base at East West Ice Palace is if they open a Moscow branch.

She can't coach in California. That is a No Smoking state almost everywhere. She smokes like a chimney.

Guys the Artesia comment was in jest. Tarasova's not moving to California.

If you read the FSU thread, it points to "sources" suggesting that she is definitely moving back to Russia, which makes sense.
The question is when. One post suggested September and the other suggested after the Olys.

So maybe she is leaving Simsbury in September, and moving back to Moscow after the Olympics - now where could she go in between - ok I'll vote - TT extended stay in Artesia to help our girl get that gold.

These days I can't really tell if people are posting what they actually believe might happen -- or just their wishful hopes. Unless TT drops Shizuka, I really doubt that she will be doing any extended stays in California. I don't discount the possibility that she might stop by to "fine tune" any choreography that she's done for Michelle, but I really don't see her spending much time there after she leaves Simsbury.

Just to clarify my post - it was just a wishful hope. I have no idea what's going on with TT. I think it would be great though if she and MK could spend extended time working on choreagraphy. As for reality, I too think it's unlikely that TT will spend extended time in California.

If you read the latest posts on FSU, "sources" close to TT confirm she's leaving for Russia in September. If true, then the TT/MK thing was probably just a consult and which begs a whole new thread of whether MK will keep the TT choreography, once TT is out of the picture.
