I hope I won't go against the boards rules by starting this thread. I was gone for quite some days (and will be again tonight, for 10 more days) and never ever expected to come back and find a 5 pages thread about Carolina.
I won't say anything about certain posters' comments which aren't even worth replying imo. I'm Carolina's site webmaster, a friend of hers and a fan of Michelle... It's a sad to come here to get info on Michelle and find nasty comments about Caro... It's a pity cause you don't know how much Caro loves and admires Michelle and how she stands as a fan of hers like if not more than everyone in here...
Anyway, since I didn't manage to reply the original question before the thread was closed, I do this here (again I hope I'm not doing anything against the rules...).
Carolina trained in her hometown Ortisei till she was 14, so her basics were consolidated in Italy by her first coach (can't remember his name atm...). She used to spend a couple of weeks in Canada during the summer with Megan Smith who has been her coreographer since she was 8 yrs old.
After a flood took her hometown rink down she had to decide where to go if she wanted to continue skating as that meant she had to leave home. The summer before the natural disaster she was in Oberstdorf for a summer camp and trained with Michael Huth for a while. She liked him, liked the place and decided with her parents she wanted to go there to train. So they obtained for her to enroll in the boarding school there and since 2001 she's been living and training there. What made her successful, no doubt her natural talent (comes from family genes too I think as many members of her family excell in sports), her determination and love for the sport. She's an extremely hard worker, very disciplined. Major credit must go to Mr.Huth who made her into a competitive skater. Speed and jumps have always come natural for her as she was landing 3lutz-3toe already at 14. Carolina is probably the most talented skater Italy ever had and even if a nation has no big tradition in a sport, sometimes it happens a particular talented athlete gets the chance to grow up and shine :)
