Thanks for keeping us updated G MAN! Hang in there with those jumps. The consistency will come ... try not to force it.
Good luck in your competition ... the 6 six weeks will just fly by!
And good luck with your schedule in the fall. I think the half day school thing will help a lot.
Have some fun this summer! :FL

G-man -- good luck in the state games in Colorado. I am from Denver and skated in the Adult ISI competition in Breckenridge last year. One thing which the adults learned and something which you should know is to drink lots of water when you are in Colorado Springs. There are definitely hydration problems when you come from sea level to altitude. Hopefully you will be get here a day or two early to practice that way you will know how to pace yourself.

Wow, you're on triples already? :eek Go you! Re. the 2axel, you have exactly the right attitude -- just let yourself go. Your body knows how to do it, the memory's already in your muscles. I found I had the same problems when I was skating -- I would just over-think the jump I was having problems with. But on those crazy tries where I just let myself go, with the confidence that I knew I could do it, it just happened.
I wish I was in CO so I could come to your next competition! But definitely keep us updated on the run-up and the competition itself -- I'm so excited for you! Keep up the amazing work :D

That's great news about the double axels G-man. Hope things keep going well with the jump. Everything wasn't perfect at the comp but it seems that you handled it well. Enjoy school and your ice time.

Congrats on landing those double axels G Man! That's awesome! I'm sorry everything didn't go as you had hoped but you're still learning, training, and working hard and that's the most important things! Good luck - and have fun - with school, too!

Congratulations on your Bronze Medal G MAN. I think you :RP , and your next competition will bring you the results you hope for. You know you can do it :) . Just don't forget that special message I sent you. You really can do it, and we know it. The stamina training is a good idea now. It's just bewildering who much strenth it takes to do a 3 or 4 minute programs, isn't it? My money is still on you though. Enjoy it all :) .

Congratulations, G-Man!!! I wish you would put me on your "contact list" for local competitions. I would love to come and see you skate. Where's your home ice? I live very close to the Bloomington Ice Garden. As a matter of fact, if you skated at Regionals two years ago (or was it 3 when they were in Bloomington?) - anyway, if you skated, I saw you - before I knew you!

missmarygarden - I have an exhibition at the bloomington ice garden in February! The state champs are also there next year in August! I was at regionals that year. I think it was two years ago...but I didn't skate well so it's fine that you didn't know who I was!:b hehe just kidding!
Thanks again everyone!! You all are the best!

I don't have my gymnastics judging assignments yet, but if I don't have a conflict, I'll be there in February. I'll check the date on the website.
I shouldn't have any problem making State Championships. I look forward to it. I have a feeling that this is your breakthrough year!

Thank you for sharing another update with us, AND congratulations, G MAN!!!
I am not a figure skater, but I have been practicing martial arts for several years and feeling very much stuck for about a year. What you mentioned in your journal has really inspired me and I almost feel that I have found a clue to get out of this slump. Thank you so much.
Best wishes on your another exciting season!!! :)

G Man, thanks for posting the link again. My brain couldn't remember what you were doing last or next. I am very proud of you, and congratulations on your Bronze Medal :) . You are so right that you know what your recent problem is. Your mind is overthinking what your body knows how to do. It's hard to relax and just let it go, but once you learn to do that, you will be more than fine. Not that you aren't just FINE already. You are.
Did you know that Michelle had problems with her double axel, even after winning 2 World Championships? She asked Yuka Sato what she was thinking when she did her double axels. Yuka thought for a moment and said: "Nothing". Michelle answered: "Thanks, I'll try that". I think that's cool because it's the truth in few words, and if Michelle had the same problem after two World Championships, you are not only in good company, but you know you can overcome it.
Wishing I could extend the G Man 8 to the G Man 9. If I can't do it in person, know that I have in my heart :) .

Best of luck, GMAN! I've been reading some of your online diaries and think you're a really terrific writer as well as a great skater! Maybe one day you'll be competing out here in Southern Cal, so the MKF'ers out here can see you skate.
Cheers,
