i know recently alot of skaters have had babies in the past couple of years. I know kristi had one. I also know that Kurt browing had one . And i know hat Scott Hameilton had one. Who else did.

Nancy Kerrigan had a second son
Kristi is pregnant with her 2nd
Angelika Krylova is pregnant
I think Liz and Jerod had a baby
I also think Jenny Meno had one, am I right?
Paul Wylie?

Ilia and Katia, but that was a few years ago already I think.

Paul Wylie and his wife had a baby girl

Punsalon and Swallow definitely had a child, I think it was a boy.

Navka and Zhulin only have the one daughter (I think she is 4 or 5 years old, now). Oly bronze medalist Peter Oppegard and wife Karen (nee Kwan) have a baby girl, Olivia, who is about a year and a half, I think.

I didn't know Jenni/Todd, Elizabeth/Jerod, Paul/wife (don't know her name), Ilia/Katia had children. Funny how I knew them as skaters years ago (as in skating was their lives) before they all got married and had children. Time sure passes by and everyone's growing up, so to speak.

I was going to mention Josee before, but then wasn't sure I hadn't made it all up. then I stumbled upon this at FSU :

Jerod & Liz's baby is a boy, but I've forgotten what they named him. Kristi and Bret's daughter is Keara.
Elena Leonova & Andrei Khvalko have a daughter named Elisabeth, she's about 2 years old now, I think
And I think Marina Klimova & Sergei Ponomarenko have a child, but I can't remember for sure
Elena Bechke has, I think, two children now, but I can't remember for sure, would have to check on that.

Barbara Underhill has two children, I think (I know she had twins and tragically lost one when she drowned in a swimming pool when she was not quite 2 years old -- I think she had at least one more baby after that)
Nancy Kerrigan has two sons (Matthew and Brian) and one stepson

Lots more -- both Carruthers are married and have children, and the others mentioned above, as well. The skating family is growing!

Tuffy Hough used to skate with Doug Ladret in pairs for Canada -- Tuffy is a nickname -- for some reason, her real first name has escaped me, sorry! They skated with SoI for several years.

Katarina is still not married -- at least, as far as I know. She's certainly never announced that she got married.

Tracy Wilson has, I think, three children now, too. And Tonia Kwiatkowski was at Kristi's show recently and she has a little one, too.

Isn't it fun to watch the skating community grow?

Canadian pairs skater, Christine Hough of Hough & Ladret. You might know them as the eville Russian pair from The Cutting Edge.

One year Tuffy had a terrible fall in the SP at Nationals and was knocked unconscious. They took a 10 minute medical break and came back and re-skated the program, including the lift she fell on. She really lived up to her nickname.

Marina Klimova & Sergei Ponomarenko have two sons. Their first is named Timofei, but I can't remember the other's name (is it Alexei?).

Suzie Wynne has two children I'm pretty certain. I know she had a boy several years ago and named him John.

Alexei Urmonov (didn't see his name here yet) had twin boys in the last few years, but I don't know their names.

Polish ice-dancer Sywia Nowak has a son with her husband Marcin, the name escapes me, her ice-dance partner has a daughter with his wife who's name escapes me.

Irina Lobacheva and Ilia Averbukh had a son Martin in 2004.

By the way, just a quick question....How many years older is Karen's husband than she? Didn't he used to skate pairs in the 80's?

Yes, Karen's husband (along with partner Jill Watson) did skate pairs in the '80's -- they won a bronze in the '88 Olys; I would think that Peter must be over 10 years older than Karen. Peter and Karen's daughter's name is Olivia.

I would think that Peter must be over 10 years older than Karen. I think you're right. IIRC, Peter was born in 1959 and Karen in 1978, a 19 year age difference.

Christine Hough (pronounced "Huff") and Doug Ladret competed at the same time as Brasseur and Eisler, so were often overshadowed by that pair. By the way, just a quick question....How many years older is Karen's husband than she? Didn't he used to skate pairs in the 80's? I just posted a vid of Peter Oppegard and Jill Watson at the 1987 US Nationals skating their exhibition to Firebird. Extremely inventive choreography. They jumped in opposite directions but they did spins in the same direction. Very exciting to watch, unlike today's pairs. :x
