Videos: From TV to computer

I have a lot of stuff taped of Michelle's and would like to make a dvd of it with my dvd burner, but I have no idea how to do this. I know I could buy a dvd recorder but that is really expensive. How do you guys get performances on the internet so quickly. Any help is appreciated.

If the recordings are on VHS, you need three things I believe:

1) a TV adapter card or external adapter

2) the software that usually goes along with the TV card.

3) a VCR

Hook up the VCR with the TV card adapter so that a link is established with the computer. Open the software on your computer to open up a TV window. Then set it to the channel you usually use to watch VHS recordings. Play the videotape and then use the software to record digitally.
