I KNOW Michelle does not re-use music, and I think thats great! Always something new to look forward to. But wouldn't it be nice if we could see what she did with an older piece with her new skills and more mature srtistry? These pieces seem to be some of the best of the best. Which would you like to see her re-choreograph and skate again? Red violin is not included because it is too recent IMO.Results (total votes = 175):

i voted for salome since it was the first program that her artistry grew dramatically. it would be nice to see what she can do w/ the program now since it was rather early in her career and at the time she was just getting a feel for what she was capable of doing. but taj mahal would also be nice to see reworked...

Yeah, I also went with Salome. And I voted without looking at the results so my choice was not influenced! :)

I also vote for Taj Mahal. That was a gorgeous program. Because she had a rocky season that year, I don't believe that MK brought it to its full potential (although Worlds came very close, IMO). I'd love to see what she could do with it now. I always think of Dick Button's remark at the beginning of her Worlds LP: "Just watch this. It's lovely!" It was!

East of Eden because the music is so gorgeous and she really brought out its beauty. I am going to rewatch Taj Mahal again, though because I haven't watched it in years and don't remember it being so great. Unfortunately, I just think of her bad '97 year whenever I think of TM. You all have convinced me that I have to look at it again. Would World's '97 be the best to see? I know she won the long program, even though she took silver.

I think I would like to see what she would do with something pre-Salome. Maybe her '95 short program. The music seemed happy and had alot of energy. I wonder how she'd do it now.

East of Eden because I love that program. Salome and Lyra Angelica have to much symbolicness (is that a word?) to reuse them.

I voted for Taj Mahal. But I don't think she would be back a big one like that. I would LOVE to see Dream of Desdamona again. I never felt it reached it's full potential because she didn't win Nats, Worlds or the Grand Prix with it. It's a great program.

Taj Mahal... I absolutely loved that program, I think we didn't get to see it at it's best at Nationals and Worlds 97! I loved everything from the music, the 1st costume (wasn't too sure about the 2nd one) to the beginning and especially the ending moves to the ending pose, that whole program was World Champion material...It just seemed to me that Michelle was NOT happy in 97...Even she admitted it, but you could just tell she wasn't having fun and that took away her spark! (I wish I could find the pic I used as my wallpaper for a while, she was gorgeous, but you could see she wasn't happy) I guess it was a combination of things, reigning National and World Champ pressures, weight gain/growing, Karen leaving for college, THE MEDIA!! and of course the enoumous pressure she put on herself to skate to win and not skate and enjoy herself...It was the 1st time I'd seen her not happy (and that broke my heart) and keep in mind I'd followed her since the Olympic festival. So, Michelle if you ever decide to bring a program back...make it Taj Mahal!!

I voted for Taj Mahal, I love the picture Teddy links to above, at worlds the coverage gets the opening pose from the front, urghh! You mention her eyes, I often like to look at her expressions too, I love the way her face seems to light up when the music starts in her performance of Hands at the Japan Open, I watch it over and over.

...about Dream of Desdemona, I would LOVE to see MK use that again! That, and Romanza, which is my favorite individual piece of music that Michelle has ever used...(well, maybe tied with "East of Eden", anyway....)

I voted for taj before I read the responses. I was kind of surprised. I thought people would have picked lyra. Lyra is my fav but I agree( I think) with sw. That program reminds me of too much that I don't think I would want her to do it again. I think I would cry. Anyway it's great soo many chose taj. That's my 2nd favorite long to lyra.

I always thought this would be an interesting idea, it probably might not work out for Michelle, but I remembered how Elizabeth Manley for her final year in eligible competition took all of the pieces of music from all her years of competing and made her 1988 Olympic free skate to bits and pieces of her programs through out her career. I always thought it would be interesting if Michelle did that. Although, I don't see how some pieces would fit together like Red Violin and Lyra Angelica, but knowing Michelle, Lori, and Frank, they'd probably pull it off.

Hrm....so difficult.....
Although I think I would have to pic either Taj or Ariane. I pic these two because they were both fabulous programs that came in years that Michelle strugled a little. I know she was sick in 99 which was the only reason for the strugle at worlds and i believe if she would have skated well and won that program would have recieved much more respect!

Why didn't you give us Rach3 as a choice?

I guess I did not put Rach down because I was thinking more along the lines of a LP. But maybe she could add some more to it and turn it into a LP?

I like Taj the most of all her long programs. I first thought "Of course, Taj Mahal!!" but suddenly the idea that I don't want it to be touched hit me. Many people including me, felt sad about her struggling 96-97 season, however I think the program has reached its full potential in the arena at 97 World Championships, winning the free. Whenever I watch her performance, I think she did an excellent job interpreting the music and couldn't have done better whether she was 16 or she is 20.

All of the music are great, but I chose Taj Mahal. Michelle didn't not skate well as everyone hoped back in the '96-'97
season. So it would be great that she would re-use this music again in the near future.

Mike, I knew there was something I liked about you. Winter is my absolute favorite, especially since she choreographed it herself.

After I watch Taj Mal from "Best of MK" tape. I truely wish MK re-used this program. That is the finest program I ever saw. I thought her Salome was awesome. This program blew me away!! She didn't skated that program to the fullest, and wish she does.

I want to see her do Rondo Caprisiosso. Now that she has matured and knows the importance of choreography in a program I'd like to see this program as the mature Michelle.

Gershwin's Piano Concerto.
I had no idea she skated to that piece until I got Cherie's revised Volume I Best of MK tape.
I would love to see her skate to the music again, same or different cuts. I just love that piece.
