Which do you prefer, eligible or pro comps?

I like both, but I like the intensity of eligible competition...plus I love to watch michelle skate :)

Olympic eligible skating is where you get to see the evolution of the sport.

ITA w/CheekyMo. Elligible skating is what's going on today. no contest with the pro's.

I also perfer Eligible competitions more. I think it's more exciting. But I love to watch pro competitions. It's just that there aren't hardly anymore pro competitions.:(

If pro events had real, consistent rules with trained judges, I might take them seriously. Until they do, I prefer eligible events.

I'll say one thing...I used to like the pros when Paul Wylie was still skating. But with Michelle now, I like the eligible events.

I chose Olympic eligible because the programs are more serious and lovely. The professional programs have become jumping-around dance routines on ice to upbeat music, not smooth figure skating.

I've almost gotten to a point where I no longer watch pro competitions... there seems to be a desire to steer from real technical content.. which is half the game. I end up getting bored, while watching people skate around pretending that they are the shining gem of personality graced into the skating world. Not everyone is born with the same level of natual ability to entertain, regardless of how good they are at skating. I like to watch them be forced to stand up and put it on the line. I will say, Krisit Yamaguchi has my respect forever, for ability to be both entertaining and still technically sound.

professional... the artists actually get rewarded in teh second mark

and footwork is really important in the tech mark

and jumping isn't the only important thing
