DEFINITELY!! I've thought about this many times. They could show all the comps LIVE, I mean really LIVE, not live by tape delay etc. in their ENTIRETY, include pre- and post- event shows, interviews with the skaters, coaches etc, Do lots of educational info , like info on skater's program elements, jumps, how to identify moves, etc. Then the rest of the time the can just run an endless loop of tapes of past events.....

Can you imagine??????
Seriously, why couldn't they have pay-per-view for Nationals and Worlds? Complete coverage. Do you think enough people would pay for it? Does anyone think it would work?

It would work like eating a small peice of a grape!!!I think there would be like 100,000,000 in the world that would want to get this or maybe not but in america probably 10,000?Anyway,I think it would get soooo much money!!

This concept sounds great. I wonder who will pony up
the big bucks for this venture. How about Ted Turner?
His TNT/TBS Networks aired many hours of skating
programming this past season. It sure is going to be quite
a challenge to get this idea to the production stage, though.
I guess we can dream.

YES!!!!!! I mean, look, we, or at least I have a Golf Channel. Figure skating is the second most watched sport (I really wish the networks would realize this!), so why not have a figure skating channel... I would even PAY to get it!

I love the results on this poll...lol Do you think that means we need a FS network? :)
I wish that there could be a cable channel that does FS and Gymnastics since the seasons are almost opposite. They'd never have a lack of coverage and could show all levels. I'd watch it constantly.

I think it's a great idea, but in all actuallity, I think I would lose my mind. I'm one that has to record everything concerning figure skating. I'm having a tough time now, trying to figure out how I'm going to get everything recorded this month alone. I can't imagine if it were on 24 hours a day. I'd never have time for anything else.

I had a revelation over the weekend--we need a network TV channel dedicated to Figure Skating during the winter and Gymnastics during the summer.

This, I think was mentioned above. Since figure skating isn't the only artistic sport that is ignored by television we could have an artistic sports network. There could be figure skating, gymnastics, diving, synchronized swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, and equestrian.
I want to go into communications and I've always thought about doing something related to my true passion, the Olympics so maybe if you guys give me some suggestions when I grow up maybe I'll be some sort of entrepeneur and create The Overlooked Sports Channel.

It wouldn't work with only figure skating. It would have to have other stuff to help get a good enough rating so the cable companies would want it. Maybe it would work if it also had tennis and gymnastics which are also good & intelligent and are individual sports like figure skating. As long as there it had NO TEAM SPORTS, which would ruin it. Also no junk sports like the stuff on ESPN2.
