uh....... DUH! Actually, we shouldn't get overconfident, I did at the Olympics (she got silver) and at the 1999 Worlds (she got silver) and etc. BUT, I was way confident at 1998 Worlds, and she got the GOLD! Ha ha ha! I think Michelle will win, and END THIS MONOTONOUS PATTERN OF WINNING ONLY ON EVEN YEARS!!!!!!!

I sure hope it'll be Michelle! I'm going to my first Worlds in Vancouver and it would really break my heart to be there in person and see her not win. Also,I think it would be a big boost to her confidence going into the Olympic year as the reigning World Champion. And overcoming this "winning only in even years" thing would be great too. I think she'll do it.

Michelle. She is going shut up all those people who are saying she can't win in an odd year. How stupid an arguement is that??

I definitely think Michelle. I don't want to believe anything else!

I'm a little worried. I really want Michelle to win but reallistically, Irina moves on to her first Worlds Gold as Michelle goes for defending her title to go as a reigning World Champ to the Olympics. I hope she will improve next year and silence all these negative thoughts.

Well, this is a hard decision, first we have Michelle-by far the best artistically, then we have Maria-not Michelle's artistry, adn inconsitent, then we have all of the U.S.'s kids: Sasha Cohen, good jumps, spins and artistry, but Michelle's is still better, then Sarah Hughes, good artistry, not the best posture, but OK, and pretty good jumps. I guess it is possible for anyone to win. I have a funny feeling that it probably will be again Michelle, but I can't get rid of the idea of Sasha and/or Sarah medaling.

The Irina pregnancy thing is just a vicious rumor that has been popping up every other week or so ever since she got married.

And I voted for Michelle, of course.

Well, had I discovered this poll eight months ago, I probably would have voted for Michelle even though I never gave her a chance. And now that I know better, I say it'll be Michelle again in 2002. Five-time world champion...now THAT sounds really good! :)

I think Sarah'll win to continue her Worlds pattern of placing 7th, 5th, 3rd, then 1st.

well, mystery over, Michelle won. Ashbugg, you ALMOST hope Michelle doesnt win, why not be honest and say you ABSOLUTELY don't want her to win. Oh, but never mind...SHE DID WIN!

HamiltonBrowningFan
February 4th, 2002, 07:10 PM
actually Kwanatic I can understand why AshBugg wanted someone other than Michelle to win... Michelle's had a few in her lifetime... and so I don't think it'd hurt her if she got a different color once in a while

I saw Michelle's interview after the Worlds competition was over. Other than the COI tour she hasn't made any plans regarding skating. She said she would take some time off and consider if she wants to compete and if so how much. She said she wants to go back to school and it sounds like that will now be her #1 priority. If she doesn't compete in the GP series she'd have to go to a regional or something like that in order to qualify for nationals. I have a feeling that she may not have the time to prepare for competitions anymore.
