I hardly every post in the political sections. but I was just curious what some of you thought of the idea of Oprah getting on a presidential ticket. I think she would be give a presidential ticket a boost if she was a Vice President Running Mate.

Ronald Reagan (Actor) President
Clint Eastwood (Mayor)
Arnold (Governor)
Sonny Bono (Mayor and Congressman)
Golpher from Love Boat (Congressman)
Cooter from Dukes of Hazzard (Congressman)
Jerry Springer (Mayor)

Whats your opinion of her and the possibility of getting in to politics? And/Or Celebrities getting in to politics?

Why not? Celebrities are people with opinions as well... I may not agree with them but hey go ahead.

Some of them just are not successful then again there are a lot of politicians who are not successful intheir jobs either.

I already consider Oprah and Dr.Phil as politicians. They attack popular and unpopoular social issues. They are opinionated and do have constituents. Not exactly my cup of tea, either of them, but if they wanna put their names on the big grill,go for it.As a pair,I'd give them decent odds.

Not sure what party she suports if any, but here are a couple of tickets:

John McCain and Oprah (I'd vote for this one)

Colin Powell and Oprah

Hilary Clinton and Oprah

Giuliani and Oprah

Now you know why I hardly ever participate in the political threads (Oprah for Vice President) After this, none of the political parties will want my support :lol

Hmm, frankly I like Oprah too much to wish a political career on her! I think her interests in helping and enpowering people would be far better served elsewhere.

Ophra's political carrer has already been realized through her remarkable coverage of "whatever".

"Springer he's the talker
He's the talkin' Man
He's got the wHOLE studio eatin' out of his hand
You can be on to with the freaks and geeks
Call 1-800 I AM A FREAK"

I don't know why Oprah would want to give up making all that money and adoration of fans to take a thankless job like being Prez or VP. Oprah is too smart for it. And besides, if she wants to push certain issues or agenda, it's so much easier for someone with her wealth to just buy herself a politician, instead of becoming one. Prices of politicians are so cheap for the wealthy.
