Almost lost amongst the bigger news items is the passing on of Admiral Stockdale. Stockdale is probably more known as Ross Perot's running mate and the butt of SNL jokes.The man was a true hero.He did his time in Viet Nam including a lengthy stay at a prison camp.They tortured him for information and at one point,when he thought he might cave in,he tried to take his own life to protect his comrades.<!--EZCODE BR START--><!--EZCODE BR END-->On the surface,his famous quote,"Who am I? Why am I here?" does sound funny. Take a moment to ask yourselves the same questions.Do you know who you are? Why are you here? Imo,the man was bit deeper than most of us,your's truly included,could realize when we mostly only knew him as Perot's 2nd banana.No,not vice presidential material,but he was a dam good man.He did make 81 years.I'd say he made quite a mark.
