The former darling of the pro-life movement might have ticked off a few of his backers by favoring more money for stem cell research:

As much as I am glad about this, I have a feeling its a political strategy on Frists part. I look for him to run for president and he's trying to get in good with the left. Same goes for Hillary who has been coming out with alot of conservative statements recently. We'll see how this all plays out.

I support his position on stem cell research (I am a Pro-life Democrat) in that he advocates "respect for the dignity of life". However, historically I have noticed the Republicans talk the talk but rarely walk the walk.
Researching certain "things" are extremely controversial but IMO, no matter how disturbing the root-cause and subsequent effect are, if it can save lives and lead to a better quality of life then it quite probably is worth it.
