First off I would like to ask that since the BFFF threads always have lots of pictures in them, that if you have a personal pic or banner in your signature to please refrain from posting it more than once in a thread so that it doesn't take the thread as long to load. Thanks a lot!

BFFFers' Ten Commandments by Yingshan
10. You shall not put forth any KFC around MK's temple where we worship.
9. You shall put the success of our production above your personal gain (no whining about pay)
8. You shall do everything to further our causes, e.g. sending PK a MK's book, hinting of MK when you can talk to PK, no matter whether it makes you a laughingstock.
7. You shall not nominate any guys for MK lightly (You shall do a detailed background check before mentioning it here). Our girl deserves the best.
6. You shall not be vulgar in any creative writing or picture splicing.
5. You shall not throw yourself at any guy who we consider a good match for MK no matter how attractive you find him to be or how close you get to him. This is a non-competitive clause.
4. You shall not mention any BFFF outside of this thread, especially not in any PK Forum.
3. You shall have a sense of humor.
2. You shall not mistake any writings here as "news".
1. You shall bow to the high pristess's wisdom at all time! (Should be optional if you ask me)

Any bold has been done so by me and any [italics] in brackets has been added by me, not the original authors.

Skatingfan
For first time visitors WELCOME. This is 100% fan fiction. Fan fictioners agree to start a new chapter whenever the thread grows to 80 messages long. We also agree to never discuss this fan fiction material outside of Fan Fiction Land, i.e. we do not post any of this in rssif, FSW, or other threads in this MK forum etc. [Or the PK Forum] Fan fictioners are in the process of producing a play on MK and PK - Paul Kariya the captain of Mighty Ducks. The genius writer is Mano, contributing writers are Kooky, Yingshan (who is also the set designer), Wonder, A-Chan, and Littlepebbles. Chemy is the photographer. Magenta is the ultimate matchmaker, and the rest are managers of this co. I come here just to chill out. Sometimes we refer to MK as 6.0 b/c of the unprecedented # of perfect 6.0s she earned, and PK as #9, he wears #9.

Yingshan
To New Comers: Welcome to our fantasyland! The purpose of this place is for us to have some fun with our favorite skater: Michelle Kwan. We weave fictional accounts and speculations into very skimpy facts. So you'll be in serious trouble if you take what we say here seriously. And everything we say here are for your and our eyes only. None of this should be repeated elsewhere on the USNET, e.g. RSSIF, FSW.... [Or the PK Forum!!!!!]

We're creating a romance novel/movie script. It's temporarily named "Ice to Ice" (I like "Icy Affairs" better). The leads are Michelle Kwan ("6.0") and Mighty Ducks captain Paul Kariya (#9). No, we don't know whether there's anything going on between them. We pick them to write because we think they make a perfect couple. [And not only because they're both Asian, or Asian and 1/2 Asian!] The main screen writer is Mano. I'm the producer/editor. My partner in production is Magenta. Chemy is our photographer. Wonder is my co-editor. Skatingfan is our sound whiz. Blizzard is our art director. Kooky and annabelle are on our contributing writing team. Littlepebbles is our director.

Welcome to stay and watch our creative process. But please obey our confidentiality rule. We don't want our brilliant ideas being pirated.

One More Criteria.....
for anyone who wants to read here:

YOU NEED A SENSE OF HUMOR!

Mano
Do not adjust your monitors, you have just entered...the Boyfriends Fan Fiction Zone (AKA BFFF)

If you are feeling lightheaded, dizzy, and see Michael Jordan back with the Chicago BULLs (pun intended), you must STOP, click the "Back button" and seek medical attention quickly.

If you happen to have a good sense of humor and realize that this is truly 100 % PURE FAN FICTION, then welcome to our humble abode.

Remember, we are not responsible for any mental injuries that might occur upon seeing the fictional stories and pictures. In other words, enter at your own risk. However, we do offer BFFF Life Insurance. Ask one of our agents for more info.

Without further ado...(drum roll)

This is LP here:
Not that PK fans aren't welcome, they are as long as they don't show up trolling, send threatening e-mails, or go running back to the PK forum bashing us and Michelle. Cause unfortunately all that stuff has happened. Hope everyone enjoys our antics but watch out for Yingshan, she bites sometimes!

I don't get it...why is it a long load??? Okay so I'm at work and we have super fast connection here, but the info is the same as the previous chapters so what gives?

What's better for Michelle than an Armani suit,
What else, a hunky duck in his Birthday suit!!!

I am really sorry that this story has been so late in coming, but things have been very sad and tough at work and I have just not had the heart. I promise that I am working on it now and will post by the end of the weekend. Anyway, lets just think about all of things that Michelle has done in our fan fiction land ... ( I think there is a theme. )

She has played hockey in disquise to fall into the arms of our favorite duck.

She has been wined and dined at many restaurants only to fall into the arms of our favorite duck.

She has been the topic at golf games. Of course, to tease our favorite duck.

She has been to Disney land, to the beach ... of course with our favorite duck.

She of course been to many hockey games to cheer on our favorite duck.

She has even gotten into trouble trying to tease our favorite duck by coming up with devious plans.

She tried to escape to skate at an out of the way mall. And you guessed it - she met up with our favorite duck.

She has been skating her exhibition program at Anaheim and who should be waiting in the wings ...

I believe that she was even talked into wearing a championship ring! Of course it did take some scheming!

I believe that the BFFF's were even talked into tutoring so that Michelle could be with her Duck!

And even when somehow, this Dave guy snuck in, Michelle still knew the true path back to the Duck.

Whew. She has been busy. I hope you enjoyed this partial trip down memory lane. Story to come very soon. I am thinking tomorrow.

Dumb board.

Anyway, I said in a couple of other threads that the 2 people in my pic are Michelle and Derrick Delmore and that the credit was in my signature and that I took the dolphin off because I wanted a change and maybe I would put it back later.

July 7th, 2000, 07:44 PM
I thought the pic is Delmore and MK, did you splice that ?
Can you believe the last chapter has over 1000 views?

Bearpaw, who is this Dave guy, did I miss a story?

Have you been reading since chapter one?

You missed my debut as a writer here.

I wrote that she was unpacking the tons of gifts for her 19th Bday.
It was so tiring she felt asleep as she was listening to Erich Korngold's violin concerto
and dreamt of the Duck. And what was the Duck doing in her dream? He was
day dreaming about her. I know it was convoluted, but that sample writing got
the OK from the High Priestess. See, now I get a pay check from time to time.

Please take care of yourself, and take the time to relax, and don't let our job
over burden you.

The picture was in Skating Magazine. From 2000 Nationals(?). Heather probably has it on her page.

BTW, I figured out how you can indent if you are writing stories. You write "<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> *<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->" (including the & and ;) and it is the same as hitting the space bar. <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> *****<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> will give you 5 spaces, and a bunch will give you an indent. But you have to have your HTML box checked and the ezcodes and emoticons and convert url boxes unchecked.

mano
July 7th, 2000, 11:19 PM
for the trip down memory lane. Put a big smile on my face which was sorely needed. BTW, don't worry about the story. If you didn't notice, I'm still the only one being crispified around here. I'm like the token sacrifice so if nobody writes stories or produces pics, crispify mano.

BTW, Yingshan, now you can write "High Priestess" under your name as your custom title.

Skatingfan, Dave was from Littlepang's story. He's the guy who wrote a song after hearing about CNBC's gaffe about Michelle not being American. Hope that juggles your memory banks.

bearpaw
July 7th, 2000, 11:47 PM
Awe you are so sweet Skatingfan. Of course I was one of the originals! Unfortunately, I only had time to go back about 6 or 7 threads and a couple from memory. (I love to read and joined in the Harry Potter craziness tonight!) I was so afraid this would happen. And by the way, I remember your story now! It was great!

Anyone else with trips down memory lane from the early chapters would be most welcome!

With work, I know things will get better with time. Two weeks ago they gave 10% of our workforce pink slips. I ran the entire stream of emotions from being scared to death that I was next, to relief when it wasn't me, to being sad for the people who were leaving (3 REALLY good friends.) to feeling guilty for still working. You get the picture. It just sucks! However, things are slowly starting to settle down.

I can't believe that we still have this topic going after all this time. We really are dedicated aren't we.

skatingfan
July 8th, 2000, 08:52 AM
Nice memories.

Bearpaw, hope things work back to normal pace for you.

I remember all these stories well.

BTW, Mano you are the fiction writer supreme, you rule, every body here knows that.
And talking about endorsement, Wall street journal said you are among the top
female fiction writer in terms of endorsement, beating out your fellow BFFF
writers. You have the best image.

Now, I bet your ego is way up right? Not so fast. Talking about tokenism. All that is
just tokenism from white corporate America. You don't even know you are part of this
scheme. It is all a conspiracy among the usfwa (us fiction writers association ) and
the all evil press. Your family is like teflon, nothing bad your family has ever done
stick. It is all a conspiracy. Remember the honor that was given to you at the Florida
governor's mansion? You were chosen to give a duck suit to the Fl governor's son
Bushy, bushy? It was not a majority vote from your peers, it was cooked by the
uswc ( us writers committee). It is all a conspiracy.

All I said is the absolute truth, I have insight into these things better than King D.
If you don't like it, take it and smoke it in your duck sauce. :) ;)

BTW, have you checked out the King's R&R ( rantings and ravings) at our favorite world?

yingshan
July 8th, 2000, 11:42 AM
Here is what's said in LA Times:

"If July 7 is your birthday, you are introspective, sensitive, loyal, at times display remarkable psychic ability. You have been disappointed more than once in love life. The future in this area will be brighter. Pisces, Virgo play major roles in your life, could have these letters, initials in names: G, P, Y. Possible change of residence, martial status in August. October your money month."

Interesting about the love life bit, isn't it? G, P, Y...hmm, who can that be? I can think of two candidates at this moment. :)

skatingfan, you're talking in codes again. I can't figure out what you're talking. What's the deal with the King R&R part? Tiger is on right now.

bearpaw, hang in there. Things will get better. I've been there.

Mano, you're the only one who got crispified because you're the only writer who got a huge advance check! You haven't fulfilled your contract obligation yet. Okay, how could I post my official title underneath my name? I need to post a crown or a big hat like the Pope wears. :)

My web site construction is painstakingly slow. BTW, does anyone know a good host site? I want to use my own domain name - bridaldesigner.com. What's a good site with good S. California traffic that allows domain names and the fee is reasonable? Help!

littlepebbles1
July 8th, 2000, 04:09 PM
It obviously means "A <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> G<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->reat hockey player named <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> P<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->aul Kariya can be <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> Y<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->ours".

What SF means by tokenism is that Mano's ugly, but the magazine used her instead of a perfect beautiful white fiction writer because they just wanted a token Asian/ethnic person to round out their list.

The USFWA carefully constructed a deal with the press and Mano's family back when Mano was just a little girl writing her stories with magnetic letters on her little chalkboard. And the deal was to make Mano look as good and perfect as possible and stomp on any other writers no matter how much more talented and AMERICAN they are. Plus, they pay all the baby book writers to write bad stuff in their books so that none of them will take Mano's bestseller status away from her. Don't you know that everyone who reads Mano's stories are just idiots that have been brainwashed into believing that Mano is worthy of anything good. They are just being obedient Americans.

You know Mano's parents beat Mano and all her siblings and they quit their jobs and force Mano to pay all their expenses and if she tries to decline, her father gives her a good beat down. That's why Mano's nose is so big, it's permanently swollen from all the times her father punched her.

You know the USWC was mad at the perfect REAL American writer, so they picked Mano for the honor just so they could snub the PRA writer. You know the PRA writer is perfect, she has the Pulitzer Prize while Mano only has a tarnished prize. That's why PRA should have gotten the honor and Mano shouldn't even have been invited. She's always stealing things from PRA. Her PRA mother tried to tell everyone the truth at the Florida governor's mansion, but nobody believed her.

King D got banned from MKF because he did nothing except cause trouble here. He hangs out with Queen R.F. now, who used to post at the Mano Forum pretending to be a fan of Mano when she was burning Mano's books in another board at the same time.

Yingshan -- I looked on Yahoo for web hosting and I found this list of services in LA: dir.yahoo.com/Regional/U_..._Wide_Web/ (http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/U_S__States/California/Metropolitan_Areas/Los_Angeles_Metro/Business_and_Shopping/Business_to_Business/Internet_and_World_Wide_Web/) And this list is from Orange County (where you are, right?): dir.yahoo.com/Regional/U_..._Wide_Web/ (http://dir.yahoo.com/Regional/U_S__States/California/Counties_and_Regions/Orange_County/Business_and_Shopping/Business_to_Business/Internet_and_World_Wide_Web/)

Also, many of the free website providers (Tripod, Free Servers?) also provide websites where you can have your own domain for a price. So you might want to look into that also.

yingshan
July 8th, 2000, 06:08 PM
Thanks so much, LP! Wow, these many companies. How should I choose? Yes, I'm in Orange County. Your comments about G, P, Y and Mano are funny. George P. will fit two out of the three letters. I just want to see Extra Crispy turn a shade of red. ;)

Yingshan, sorry, I assume everyone here goes to fsw. King D ranted and raved
about tokenism, I was so very steaming mad,, I was actually
almost in tears, and since Mano said that she is the token
sacrifice here, i brought that up . Anyhoo, feel better now.

Looks like Tiger has some major work to do tomorrow just to place in top 10.
Short of a miracle I don't think he can defend the western title.

BTW, guys and gals, Venus is great, and she has to beat Hingis #!, and Serena
and Davenport for this title. :)

Littlepebble, Chemy or anyone else who's web literate. I know this is a dumb question but I can't find anywhere in the book that teaches how to work with thumbnail image. I'm using MS PhotoDraw for image editing and Front Page for webpage building. In PhotoDraw, I can save an image as a thumbnail. But when I inserted it in the web page in Front Page, it doesn't work as I thought a thumbnail would work. The bigger image didn't appear. Do I have to insert the bigger image on another page and then build a link between it and the thumbnail image? In other words, are thumbnail images working as buttons? I can't believe neither the Front Page book nor the Photo Draw book mentioned this.

skatingfan, I don't think Tiger would make it back either. His putting was way off. Sorry, I don't visit FSW. I don't like that place.

littlepebbles1
July 8th, 2000, 08:50 PM
I don't have MS PhotoDraw or Front Page, but from what I think you are saying, yes you have to insert the bigger image on another page and then build a link between it and the thumbnail image. I don't know how you do that in that specific program, but I do know the HTML code would be

<a href=http://www.yingshan.com/biggerimage.jpg><img src=http://www.yingshan.com/thumbnail.jpg></a>

The basic code to link something is <a href=url of link>title of link</a> Since the title of your link is a thumbnail picture, you would put the code of the thumbnail where the title goes. The code for an image is <img src=url of image>

And by demonstrating with Piyo Piyo, it will look something like this:

<!--EZCODE CENTER START--> http://quick78.tripod.com/piyopiyo.gif (http://quick78.tripod.com/piyopiyo.gif)<!--EZCODE CENTER END-->

Just pretend Piyo Piyo is a little smaller.

You click on the thumbnail and it takes you to the bigger image. I don't know how to put links in your program, but I think in Netscape Composer, you highlight whatever you want linked and select Link, a thing pops up and you type in the url and click OK and it is linked. If your program works something like that, you would drag your mouse to highlight your thumbnail and then click Link or what ever you do to make a blank come up and then you type in the url of the bigger image.

See, I don't know how your program works, so I might be explaining this wrong. I hope it helps a little.

I rarely go to FSW anymore, I got sick of lots of the people and most of the stuff about Michelle, all they have to do is copy and paste 99% of the stuff they say because it's all the same thing. (Kind of what some of them accuse Michelle of doing)

yingshan
July 8th, 2000, 10:53 PM
I thought there would be a magic button that can set up the thumbnail for me. LOL. Thanks for the explanation, LP. Yeah, I can insert links easily in Front Page. But I have 15 sketches and probably another 10 pictures to set up. My website will have lots of pages with so many layers. I'm glad you stay up so late checking in. ;)

Yeah, I don't like the atmosphere of the FSW. Call me weird. I prefer rssif. :)

Hey, how can I be only Olympic Silver member? You guys are my witness that I've posted more than 200 posts in BFFF land alone. I don't even visit any other ezboard. LP, I like your title. I thought of using "96 Producer", but I like "The High Pristess" better. :lol

Well, I am not sure where I am going with this story yet, but I hope you enjoy part 1.

El Sequendo, CA 2020

Michelle yelled up to her 12 year old daughter Kristen Irina, “Come on honey, we are going to be late.”

Michelle took a moment and looked around her beautiful home and smiled. She had it all. A caring, tall, dark and handsome husband and a precocious, spirited daughter, beautiful home and a wonderful job coaching. After winning the gold medal at the 2002 Olympics her life had taken an interesting turn. She met her future husband and Mighty Ducks hockey star, Paul Kariya.

******************

“Daydreaming again,” Karen asked Michelle as they were doing some last minute Christmas shopping in December of 2003.

Michelle answered, “Guilty. I just don’t know. I just feel that there is something missing from my life. Going into Salt Lake City, Frank would have been very disappointed to find out that anything had distracted me from skating with the exception of my time away for school. I didn’t have time to develop any serious relationships. There were a few dates here and there, but when you don’t have the time to work at it, it is so hard.”

She sighed. Karen grinned because she had been waiting for this opportunity.

Karen looked at Michelle. “I’ll tell you what. Lets get dressed up and go out to the finest restaurant we can find. You’re treat.”
Michelle laughed. It sounded like Karen all right and Michelle agreed.

Later that evening, they had just finished with dinner and sipping some of the best wine in the house when who should walk in but Paul and Teemu. Michelle noticed them walk in, but went right back to discussing school with Karen until she realized they were headed right toward their table.

“Good evening, Michelle. May I have this dance?”, asked PK while handing Michelle a beautiful yellow rose.
Michelle was stunned, but said yes. She had met Paul a few years back, but had no idea he could be persuaded to be here tonight. She went to the dance floor after giving her sister that look that any sisters know so well! While Michelle was dancing with Paul, Karen and Teemu took to the floor. They had a fabulous time and afterwards went to a coffee shop with Karen and Teemu to continue the evening. They had so much in common being athletes who were in the spotlight and on the ice. They were also very intelligent and enjoyed the spirited political and other discussions. At 2:00 in the morning, the gentlemen escorted Michelle and Karen back to their car, where Paul pulled out a single red rose. He told Michelle that he had a great time and would like to see her again. Michelle’s heart raced as she agreed.

A year later, they had a Christmas wedding.

***********
“Here I am mom!, “ Kristen said as she brought Michelle back to the present.

Michelle and Kristen were going to meet Irina Slutskaya.

I read some of your stories, and can't help but laugh. I don't consider myself a hopeless romantic, but after reading this thread, I do feel a bit like one. I guess the world does need more love and less conflicts. The irony is that love does lead to conflicts in many cases. But, if I'm right, it'll never happen here.

In any case, your stories are very well written. I enjoyed reading them. Mano, I hope you are a professional writer. If not, you've seriously missed your calling.

finally another story, yipee!!! Great stuff Bearpaw and they have a kid...but...one kid only??? I would have had them have 20 or something to go along with all our names and I'm kidding. ;) BTW, interesting name you chose...isn't that the middle name of an Olympic Gold medalist? If it is, talk about letting bygones be total bygones. ;) ;) ;)

Awww, thanks Acoma and welcome to BFFF. Yup, hopeless romantics the lot of us. Me especially. You know I just watched the Last of the Mohicans with Daniel Day Lewis (when he used to be hunky) and I'm still bummed the sister and the hunky Native American died. If I was the author, I would have titled it "The 2nd to the Last of the Mohicans" so everybody still lives. BTW, regarding the writer stuff...thanks...I guess I was sleeping or something when the call came so I missed it, story of my life. Lots of great writers in this place though and it sure is a refuge from the daily grind of work, school, etc.

Beth, welcome back. You were missed. Nothing much happened, just Yingshan making me permanently steaming red because of her constant mention of a certain Bush. BTW, I made like Tonya Harding over the weekend and trimmed the hedges in our garden. Yingshan, you should have seen me go at those bushes, but my Black & Decker hedge trimmer conked out on me, go figure.

Littlepebbles, you know me so well, LOL!!! Skatingfan, keep your head cool over there at FSW, no use getting mad there when a couple people's mottos are "2nd place is the first loser and silver tarnishes and gold lasts forever." Yeah, I feel sorry for their kids...hope they'll do us a favor and get neutered.

BTW, regarding PM D('cause King is just bestowing too much honor on one who doesn't deserve any)...easy, for to me that poster doesn't exist so whatever that poster says doesn't affect me. In this case, total ignorance is complete bliss. If you notice, I wasn't the only one who gave him the cold shoulder.

LOVELY story bearpaw, BTW, so the setting is 2003, and Mk already won 02 gold?

Mano:

Yes, I saw the 2nd half of this movie. What a tragedy! I couldn't bear to see the whole movie again b/c I couldn't handle seeing the Last of the Mohicans dies a 2nd time. Was that Daniel Day Lewis? He certainly was a hunk.

BTW, a week or 2 ago, I had a dream involving MK and a guy. I had a lot of things on my mind. Needless to say, MK was definitely not on that list. I don't know why I dreamt of her except that some of my dreams turned out to be either a premonition or an advance notice that the exact opposite will happen in real life. I don't expect you to believe me. I didn't even believed it myself when this first started happening to me. However, enough incidents had occurred so that I am now half consciously paying attention. Anyway, I dreamt that MK's involved w/ a person named Raymond. I saw his face so vividly (on the round side not chisel[sp?]). He wasn't bad looking, definitely pure blooded asain. Had the appearance of a college student. I'll leave it to you to interpret it however you want. I did have another dream of MK in '98. But I won't share it b/c it would be too depressing. I'm only sharing this b/c I don't want you to be disappointed in the long run. You seem to have your heart set on certain things.

Yeah, but I'll live after the bubble bursts. Just fun to think about...but gee whiz, "Raymond"? LOL. Hope he's the type who has enough of his own so MK doesn't have to sign a pre-nuptial agreement or something ;) Yeah, I'm tough on the College guys 'cause I've been there. As for dreams...lots of people seem to be having MK dreams lately but tomorrow is not promised...but ROTFLOL, if I ever wrote down all of the dreams I had on MK and PK together, I reckon I'd be banned from MKF forever and then some. I have to confess to God...had that dream again, Lord...yeah and boom, 9 months later...er, okay, I gotta shut up get home from work else Yingshan is going to kill me 96 times over. ;) ;) ;)

I think it's a conspiracy, you all love to torture me. Come on Michelle and Paul, show us the love doves that you two were made to be. :b

BTW, Paul sighting by the Yahoo people again. Couple of 'em went to play golf in his backyard (which happens to be a golf course) and saw him sweeping his terrace or something to that effect. Must have been expecting somebody or is just a clean freak. Lives in a gated community like MK where the price range are about $400,000 and up according to them. Weird wild stuff.

Yeah, LP, I'm still at work and I'm going home now...so give me an hour on the subway, late late dinner and I'll be on ICQ...by midnight...sigh, I got to get off work earlier.

And yes Sharon, you should post more often ;)

So our girl had a nice time dancing with the MD, great. Please write another story soon.
Acoma, if it is not too depressing share the 98 dream, we can handle it. BTW, if you are
just a hop and skip from Health South, can't you oh please take a lunch break and see
what is going on with MK's practice. Even if you own your own business, you still need

Okay, get your mind OFF the gutter, that's not what I meant by the above. A BFFF Quickie is any story that's short, quick and to the point or ends up being a TBC. I figured to finish the following all in one shot, but that means I have to stay up late tonight (won't happen) so you all get a TBC instead, a thousand apologies ;) .

"Ray of Light"

Teemu Selanne was back in California after a much-needed trip with his family to his homeland of Finland where he was able to visit his parents as well as tie up a few loose ends. He was catching up with messages in his Athletes Direct site and seeing what he can do to add to his personal web page for his fans. Out of pure curiosity, he decided to go surfing to another site that he and his teammates have come to visit from time to time just to see what Paul’s fictional self was doing to Michelle Kwan at the Fan Fiction area. The Michelle Kwan Forum site finishes loading and he smiles at the banner with Michelle holding her well deserved ’00 Worlds Gold medal. “Should have happened last year at my hometown too,” Teemu said softly to himself. “It’s all Paul’s fault for passing the cold he got from Rooch to Michelle.”

He browses through a few of the Fan Chat messages, before heading off to Fan Fiction and BFFF. Might as well keep Paul informed about what his fictional self was up to now, since he’s not much of a computer freak…which is pretty funny considering he’s a Star Wars geek. He goes through the new messages, laughs at Paul being in his birthday suit and shakes his head at the rest of the messages of Michelles die-hard, devoted, and hopelessly romantic fans. Then one word, or rather name, caught his eye. Raymond. He wasn’t bothered by George P. Bush since the poster Yingshan was just using that to annoy the poster, mano, to no end. He didn’t bat an eye regarding the Kings training at HealthSouth since Stu was going to be there to watch over Michelle for Paul. Any Queen try to mess with her will have to answer to the Grim Reaper. What got him was the fact that the new poster’s dream may be a premonition of things to come regarding Michelle’s love life. Worth noting since the poster, acoma, also had a premonition about Michelle during the 1998 Olympics…he wasn’t superstitious but might as well give Paul a call and let him figure out what to do.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp
Meanwhile…Paul Kariya was perturbed at the message he just read. Having browsed the Michelle Kwan Forum to get ideas for his next date, he saw that somebody had a dream or rather a premonition about Michelle and who her potential mate would be. “Raymond??? Who in tarnation is that? A college kid with Asian features?” He was still pondering this tidbit he read when his phone rang.

“Hello?” Paul answered.
“Paul, good I got you. Are you at your computer?”
“Yes, why?” Paul asked, although he already had an idea what Teemu might say.
“Good, then visit your girl’s forum and see the new guy they have for her now.” Teemu said hurriedly.
“You mean Raymond?” Paul said calmly.
“Yeah, how did you know? Oh, you’re online now I guess. So what are you going to do?” Teemu asked.
“Nothing…it’s only a dream, how real can it be?” Paul said.
“But the Olympics???” Teemu said worriedly.
“Lots of people get dreams like that, doesn’t mean they all come true. Now if the poster had a premonition about me getting that concussion too, then I’d start to worry.” Paul said.
“Well…at least do something…if you suddenly find yourself without Michelle, don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Teemu said before hanging up.

Paul just shook his head and put his attention back to the forum. Nothing new to report except that he was found to be cleaning his backyard and that he and Michelle have a daughter together. He laughed out loud…he would have had more children with her. He shut down his computer and decided to go out and play a round of golf to clear his head. Then he’ll give Michelle a call later. She was spending the day shopping with Karen so she wouldn’t be home right now. No worries, she was safe and sound with her sister.

Meanwhile…at the Bat Cave…just kidding. Some of Paul’s teammates were up to no good. Hey it’s summer and it’s a long way before training camp starts for the Ducks so they needed to use up their energy somehow. Thus, partners in crime Matt Cullen and Pascal Trepanier decided to do some web surfing themselves to get ideas. Jeff Neilsen would have been there but he was too busy moving now since he was picked up by the Minnesota Wild (I think) for next season and was no longer a Duck. (sniff). They figured they’d get a good laugh at the Captain’s expense so off to MK Forum they went. With Stu out of the way, they’re off the hook. The new chapter was up and they were getting ideas on what to do…this Raymond guy was a possibility, hmnnn…

TBC!!!

July 12th, 2000, 04:30 PM
Things have suddenly made a sharp turn here. I feel as though I've just opened a can of worms here. LOL. You are quite an exuberant group.

Thank you for the welcoming messages. Mano, another fine volume of art. Before I let my happy fingers syndrome run its course, I feel I should instigate a disclaimer:

Acoma encourages everyone to be skeptical about unwanted dreams of Miss Swan. Acoma does not know the true outcome of these dreams until they occur. In the past, some of Acoma's dreams are premonitions. EQUALLY IMPORTANT, SOME ARE ADVANCE NOTICE THAT THE OPPOSITE WILL HAPPEN IN REALITY. It is very difficult to distinguish which way the dream will go. Acoma would love to accomdate some of your requests. Unfortunately, Acoma is over taxed w/a gazillion(sp?) projects professionally and personally. (I am forced to prioritize everything). This board is a temporary relief from chaos and helps to save Acoma's sanity. Acoma will certainly visit South Health Center upon any opportunity available.

Now that's out of the way, is anyone here a genius scientist, who've mastered the art of cloning humans? I certainly could use a 2nd me. My payment is to camp one of my doubles at South Health to record MK's every movement. LOL. Come to think of it, if one of you did mastered cloning, you wouldn't need me then. You'd probably clone Michelle instead. I'll be out of town for the next 2 weekends, I won't be able to visit South Health until Aug. Sorry to disappoint some of you. I enjoyed our e-versations.

July 12th, 2000, 07:51 PM
I guess I should have explained or expanded more...I'm cynical that any dream of any sort can be a premonition...whether it's about Michelle's love interest or my choice of breakfast cereal...I never meant for my statement to be unwelcoming...

mano
July 12th, 2000, 10:59 PM
Don't go, we like fresh blood. We didn't initiate you to the ways of the BFFF peoplehood yet. Honest, we promise to be careful and make sure we don't scare you off like we did with the other poster the last time...well that poster did come back...to pick up a few torn limbs...but other than that we're a nice lot, really. Just kidding...not about being nice, the torn limbs one.

I hope you're not upset or anything. I think a bunch of us have dreams and premonitions about Michelle or PK or Tiger (skatinfan's forte) or somebody. Mine hardly ever comes true 'cause I'm the master of dud premonitions. My story, according to Chemy, is just me looking for another angle at a situation that's probably a bubble burst for me in real life. Again, I'll survive. ;) ;) ;)

As for the HealthSouth visits? Don't worry about that. Skatingfan has been asking everybody to visit it if they're in the area, me included and I live in NYC. So don't stress yourself over it. Have fun and good luck on all your projects.

Bearpaw!!! When shall we expect the continuation of your story...I want to know what happens next with Irina, Michelle et al. Here's to Paul making an appearance and give his wife a big kiss!!! :p

Chemy, nice pic as usual and thanks 'cause I wasn't too happy with Yags hitting on Michelle ;) BTW, when LP mentioned you were going to splice that pic, I thought you were going to have PK knock Yags out of the picture or something then cut in to dance with MK. But it was perfect timing for Bearpaw's story so that's a plus.

Mano – ask and you shall receive! I am not that great at plot development, so please bear with me.

Part 2 – well actually the final part of this story.

It was all Michelle could do not to smile on the way to meet Irina. They were meeting at Disneyland for a few days of fun and relaxation with their girls. Irina was married in 1999 and had her daughter Jessica Michelle just a few weeks after Michelle had Kristen. It was going to be a couple of long days trying to keep up with them.

Kristen and Jessica knew that their mothers were both figure skating superstars, but only a few people know what happened in 2002 just before the Olympics. Michelle and Irina were at the center of it all and became friends as a result.

2002 – Salt Lake City, Utah during the start of the winter Olympic games. Michelle had really been enjoying her experience at the Olympics. The opening ceremonies, watching some of the other events. She still stayed in a hotel with her parents so that she would have some time where there would be peace and quiet. She had known Irina for years, but never gotten to know her. And now, they were considered to be the favorites for the gold medal. Michelle was surprised when a couple of nights before the Olympics figure skating sessions started, Irina was at the door. Michelle thought that was strange, but Irina looked so distraught that Michelle let her in.

Irina came in the door and started speaking so quickly in Russian that Michelle just gave her a quizzical look that made Irina laugh. However, putting on her serious face very quickly she said,
“Michelle, come. Now please!”
Michelle answered, “ I don’t understand. Why? Please tell me why you are so upset?”
Irina said, “No now. Later. Please!”
Michelle could tell that Irina was very, very upset and being sincere. Michelle asked if going to the coffee shop in the Lobby of the hotel would be OK and Irina nodded. Off running down the hall, Michelle had a hard time keeping up with her.

Once at the Lobby, Irina went to the front desk and then led Michelle into a hotel office. The waiter brought tea and coffee to the room for them. Irina still looked so frightened.

“OK. Irina. Now you are scaring me. What has got you so frightened?”, Michelle prompted.
Broken English was the best that Irina could manage because she was shaking so hard. Irina answered in a whisper, ”Michelle. I don't want to be seen talking you to because I am frightened. I heard judges/Russian officials talking. They are fixing the judging Michelle, in my favor. I do want to win, but not like that. I don't know what would happen if they were to find out. They didn't know I was there."

Michelle was stunned and did not know what to say. She immediately picked up the phone to call Frank on his cell phone. Frank came to the room and Michelle repeated the story. Carroll took over and called a couple of well placed contacts.

It was a long time later before everything was sorted out and in the end they managed to keep it away from the media. Irina was a true sportsman that day. They were both so shaken up by what happened that neither of them skated their best, but in the end they were such champions that they ended up 1, 2 with Michelle winning the Gold by the 3rd tie breaker. At the medal ceremony, Michelle pulled Irina up on to the podium with her right from the start. There was no question that they both deserved gold, if only it could have been given.

From that day on, they were confidants and friends off the ice, while fierce competitors once the skates were on. Michelle continued skating after marrying PK and worked with Frank Carroll through 2006 where Irina reigned supreme. These two were quite a pair. Constantly pushing each other. Irina may have been the first with the quad, but she knew that she had to work to match the artistry of Michelle. It was women’s skating at its best. They traded 1st and 2nd for 4 years from 2002 – 2006 when both retired. Through all of this, they will never forget what happened.

Michelle went on to become a doctor in sports medicine and was an assistant to Frank until he retired. Irina went on to become a coach in Russia. Now they laugh and look wisely on as their students compete against one another.

But, today was a day to relax and enjoy the sun.

******

As Michelle stepped out of the car with Kristen, not only was Irina already there, but her husband and PK were there as well as a surprise. (And just for Mano ...) PK picked up Michelle and gave her a kiss that took her breath away even after almost 20 years!

The end.

Since no one has any new stories to write or not much inspiration to work with, I thought I would repost some old BFFF stories from the early days that I had saved on my computer. I will probably do this every couple of days. (Inspired by Bearpaw's earlier blast to the past.) First up is a short story written by the head writer Mano. This was originally posted at FSW during the big Ezboard Blackout during '99 Worlds. Enjoy!

Note: Since I have these stories saved in a word processing document, if there were any mispelled words, punctuation, or something else, it will have automatically been corrected since I keep MS Word on auto correct.

*****#8 (the other player), #9 and other MD players were hanging out at their Coach's hotel suite to relax after a grueling practice session. Having suffered one of their worst loses of the season against the NJD, the MD players were gathered together to plan their strategy for defeating the NYR on Friday 04/02. It was a little after 8:00 pm (EST) when their meeting ended and the players decided to catch up on some sports on T.V and relax. They channel surf a little until, all of a sudden, #8 shouts "STOP RIGHT THERE." He just heard his hometown of Helsinki mentioned. At that point, he and #9 looked at each other in understanding. The decision was made to watch the rest of the World's exhibition program despite hearing a few groans from other players. After a few minutes, an interview of Michelle Kwan was shown and the players cheered her on. Her name was announced as she prepared to step on the ice. The room goes wild. When the camera panned slowly away from MK's face, the roomful of people goes even wilder, until #9 gives them a look that could kill; everyone falls silent again in time for MK's starting pose. (Except for a few occasional catcalls and whistles.) The music starts and the MD players become entranced, entrapped in a spell that only MK could cast (I don't think H players ever experience that so just make believe). At the end of the haunting program, everyone applauded and agreed with Dick Button's assessment, "She takes my breath away." They start talking at the same time about which part they liked best, "The costume!" one shouted, "the split where her head nearly touches the ice..." another voiced. All of a sudden, they see their captain stand up and silently walk toward the door. "Where are you going" they asked in unison. "To take a shower!!!" #9 shouts without looking back. "Preferably a COLD one," says #8 slyly. The whole room erupts in laughter. #9 reached the peace and quiet of his hotel room and smiles to himself, remembering. A few minutes later, he dials a few numbers as familiar to him as his own.

*****"Hello?"
*****Sweetly he responds, "Hello, Michelle..."

Great round of bogey free golf. He SAVED PAR on the most difficult hole that killed a lot of others.
Go Tiger, I have sacrificed many chickens and ate tofu for weeks.

I LOVED this story! Still one of the great ones Mano!

Thanks for the Blast from the past!

I have another story brewing slowly. Since it is the height of the golf season, I am wondering what would happen if MK and PK were to play Kapalua - a golf course in Hawaii. I think there is definitely a good story here. Stay tuned.

Is there any news at all about what PK has been doing over the summer?

skatingfan so funny you should mention Tiger Woods. My husband and I were talking about him last night. We were talking about his talent for golf. Trust me he can sit there and say all he wants too that it is from practice, but I could go out there and practice like crazy and still not be able to golf like him. Also, I thought I heard on the radio today that he was 5 up. Maybe I misunderstood and I really hope I didn't. Let me know. Oh yeah btw if you notice my banner is gone. The voting is done with. I still don't know if Tracey got it but it is done with.

Els is 6 under par and Tiger is tie for second with 5 under par, and that is the final answer for round 1.

I think Tiger and Michelle are both wonderful role models for young people. They both grew up under the camera's eyes. They grew up in a very public way and triumph over so many adversities. Cn you imagine how cruel kids could be, when Tiger was 6 y/o some older kids tied him up and wrote an ugly name on him. He has not been bitter about that either, let his club speaks for himself.

Go Tiger , you can do it. Interesting he may tee up with Els tomorrow. Oh, there will be a lot of chickens being sacrificed tonight.

It is about 1p ET, dear beefers if you are heading out for lunch please remember chicken.

Eldrick is looking good, just finished hole #11, sitting on top of the board at 9 under par. The second guy has already finished the round witn 8 under. Of course master Tiger has to fight it out with hole #17, the road hole, most nasty one of the day par four, 416 yards.

I have been extra nice today, Beth believe me, I could be nice. I did not yell at anyone at work, I am sending good vibes to Edrick, the Tiger, and hoping the golfgods will hear my pleas. Tiger please stay with the current moment, stroke by stroke, focus one thing at a time, before you know you will conquer the road hole + a lot more.

Love that Tiger!

Addendum, time 3p ET, mater Tiger finished his 2nd round 6 under par, with a total of 11 under par for the tourney, 3 shots ahead of the next guy who has finished. He played 2 rounds of bogey free golf. Currently 2 guys are at 6 under par on hole 14, they may have a chance to over take Tiger, not likely.

I know the chicken and tofu will taste real good for 2.5 more days for me. :)

Congratulations to Tiger Woods. He methodically took the old course apart, the birth place of golf did not match master Tiger.
So far I know the records he broke :
youngest to compete a grand slam, won in St. Andrews by a record of 19 underpar.
There may be more records he tied or broke that I am not aware off.

Another thing I found out this week, the golfgods like tofu and chicken, I think skating gods may like the same. I pray for a Tiger win by 3 strokes and Americans finished top five, they gave me a Tiger win for 8 strokes, and 5 Americans in top 10, not bad.
How does this all tie with MK?
Oh well, MK and Tiger both grew up in CA. Tiger's mom lives in Pk's neighborhood. Oh didn't Mk wanted her picture to be next to Tiger in EXPN zone or somewhere?

don't be a stranger A-Chan. LOL, never thought us Beefers would be associated with Piyo Piyo. So Eilaram is out for a week (and still she haunts us by making us leave BFFF humming "I'm leaving on a Jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again...") And I'll be leaving in a couple of days for sunny San Diego...but I may still get a chance to post if I can cop my cousin's computer there.

Okay, considering these new developments with Karen Kwan and Peter Oppegard, again Congrats to them, looks to me like 6 years ain't so bad after all ;) ;) ;) . BTW, the age difference never mattered to me unless the guy is younger by a year or more (which in man years is like subtracting 7 years off the actual age) ;) ;) ;)

Hi everyone! I soooo miss not being able to come more often. I soooo miss you guys and I'm waaayyyyy behind. Going to have to bite the bullet and only read a few :( select topics *sigh*. Anyway....

Congrats skatingfan on your successful sacrafices!

Thanks lp for the flashback. I hadn't read that one.

And mano, my hubby is almost 4 years younger than me, and I'm very happy, so don't count the young ones out! Uh oh, maybe <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> I'm<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> the immature one!

no offense to those who are hitched to younger albeit mature men. Congrats to a great catch. Me, my maturity level fluctuates depending on the situation. ;)

No news yet. It's like drought season during the summer. Somebody do something. You know what's hilarious? The Ducks are like making moves left and right and that means new names to get used to, new faces to learn and see if they're story worthy. Hope my regulars are still signed on...still sad about Stu. But he'll still be there since he's going to be training at El Segundo too.

Coolest deal. I may have a chance to finally see the Ducks live when they come to town. They'll be playing the Rangers in October and I'm going to try to get a ticket even if it's the nosebleed section. If they're anything like Michelle, then their presence (even if they look like ants from where I'll be) should be able to fill the arena.

If the rumor is true, that is. And also looking up for keeping the relationship on the down low, since apparently no one knew this relationship existed to begin with.

Another blast to the past. This was written by Yingshan sometime last year.

<hr width=400>
*****PK was bored during Nagano Olympics and tried to catch the Olympics hockey games. He accidentally caught figure skating ladies' LP instead. He watched and was quite captured by MK's performance. When it's announced she didn't win, he's surprised and felt for her. Then he caught a bit of her press conference afterward. He saw the way she held back tears and said all the graceful things. His heart ached for her. It reminded him his blocked goal at Lillehammer when his country lost the gold medal because of that. He knew the disappointment, the guilt and the difficulty of facing all the scrutiny and saying the right things. He couldn't imagine how such a delicate 17-year-old could handle it with such a grace. He wanted to hug her so she could cry on his shoulder with no one watching. He wanted to take her away from all the press and spotlight so she could let out her disappointment. But he couldn't. He's thousands of miles away. So he watched and read all about her in the papers. His heart ached for a 17-year-old girl he's never met.

*****He's been keeping track of her activities ever since. When he heard she signed a contract with Disney, he's very happy for her. Not only her career was doing well, he knew he would have a chance of meeting her. He waited patiently for the right chance. When he's told about the MD Fan Fair of 1999, he causally mentioned: "Why don't we invite Michelle Kwan skate at the event too? She can attract some figure skating fans."

*****At the Fan Fair, he was introduced to the girl he's been obsessed with for almost a year. The fragile and heartbroken young girl in his imagination gave him a sunny smile, with not a trace of sadness. His amazement soon turned into admiration and affection. What a strong young woman she has turned out to be! Not the delicate flower that needed protection he imagined at all. He fell under her spell.....

To Be Continued.

Thanks lp :) ! Another one I don't remember. Must be losing my long term and short term memory. Oh well, there's always the middle!

It's been a couple of days though, any chance of the *continue*?

These stories are from like over a year ago.

And you have to ask Yingshan about the continuation, since she wrote the story.
