BFFFers' Ten Commandments by Yingshan
10. You shall not put forth any KFC around MK's temple where we worship.
9. You shall put the success of our production above your personal gain (no whining about pay)
8. You shall do everything to further our causes, e.g. sending PK a MK's book, hinting of MK when you can talk to PK, no matter whether it makes you a laughingstock.
7. You shall not nominate any guys for MK lightly (You shall do a detailed background check before mentioning it here). Our girl deserves the best.
6. You shall not be vulgar in any creative writing or picture splicing.
5. You shall not throw yourself at any guy who we consider a good match for MK no matter how attractive you find him to be or how close you get to him. This is a non-competitive clause.
4. You shall not mention any BFFF outside of this thread, especially not in any PK Forum.
3. You shall have a sense of humor.
2. You shall not mistake any writings here as "news".
1. You shall bow to the high pristess's wisdom at all time! (Should be optional if you ask me)

Any bold has been done so by me and any [italics] in brackets has been added by me, not the original authors.

Skatingfan
For first time visitors WELCOME. This is 100% fan fiction. Fan fictioners agree to start a new chapter whenever the thread grows to 80 messages long. We also agree to never discuss this fan fiction material outside of Fan Fiction Land, i.e. we do not post any of this in rssif, FSW, or other threads in this MK forum etc. [Or the PK Forum] Fan fictioners are in the process of producing a play on MK and PK - Paul Kariya the captain of Mighty Ducks. The genius writer is Mano, contributing writers are Kooky, Yingshan (who is also the set designer), Wonder, A-Chan, and Littlepebbles. Chemy is the photographer. Magenta is the ultimate matchmaker, and the rest are managers of this co. I come here just to chill out. Sometimes we refer to MK as 6.0 b/c of the unprecedented # of perfect 6.0s she earned, and PK as #9, he wears #9.

Yingshan
To New Comers: Welcome to our fantasyland! The purpose of this place is for us to have some fun with our favorite skater: Michelle Kwan. We weave fictional accounts and speculations into very skimpy facts. So you'll be in serious trouble if you take what we say here seriously. And everything we say here are for your and our eyes only. None of this should be repeated elsewhere on the USNET, e.g. RSSIF, FSW.... [Or the PK Forum!!!!!]

We're creating a romance novel/movie script. It's temporarily named "Ice to Ice" (I like "Icy Affairs" better). The leads are Michelle Kwan ("6.0") and Mighty Ducks captain Paul Kariya (#9). No, we don't know whether there's anything going on between them. We pick them to write because we think they make a perfect couple. [And not only because they're both Asian, or Asian and 1/2 Asian!] The main screen writer is Mano. I'm the producer/editor. My partner in production is Magenta. Chemy is our photographer. Wonder is my co-editor. Skatingfan is our sound whiz. Blizzard is our art director. Kooky and annabelle are on our contributing writing team. Littlepebbles is our director.

Welcome to stay and watch our creative process. But please obey our confidentiality rule. We don't want our brilliant ideas being pirated.

One More Criteria.....
for anyone who wants to read here:

YOU NEED A SENSE OF HUMOR!

Mano
Do not adjust your monitors, you have just entered...the Boyfriends Fan Fiction Zone (AKA BFFF)

If you are feeling lightheaded, dizzy, and see Michael Jordan back with the Chicago BULLs (pun intended), you must STOP, click the "Back button" and seek medical attention quickly.

If you happen to have a good sense of humor and realize that this is truly 100 % PURE FAN FICTION, then welcome to our humble abode.

Remember, we are not responsible for any mental injuries that might occur upon seeing the fictional stories and pictures. In other words, enter at your own risk. However, we do offer BFFF Life Insurance. Ask one of our agents for more info.

Without further ado...(drum roll)
May I present the stars of the show...

This is LP here:
Not that PK fans aren't welcome, they are as long as they don't show up trolling, send threatening e-mails, or go running back to the PK forum bashing us and Michelle. Cause unfortunately all that stuff has happened. Hope everyone enjoys our antics but watch out for Yingshan, she bites sometimes!

Thanks for starting Chapter 29 LP!!! Anywho, to begin with, NO PK nor MK sighting at the Awards and I'm a happy camper 'cause we all know MK is taking a well deserved vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with sister Karen and PK is probably still hanging around Anaheim with brother Steve. They're with family, that's always a good thing. No brown haired girls, no BBT's so I'm happy tonight.

Okay, first up, the NHL Awards...sucked major, for lack of a better word apologies to any NHL fans out there, myself included. Thing is, I have last years Award show on tape and it was sooo much better. Guess it was because last year Wayne Gretzky was there after just retiring and Maurice Richard was still alive and they had Elle Macpherson presenting, Kristi Yamaguchi there as well as Smash Mouth (I think) performing...least I think it was them. That plus there wasn't any technical miscues and the patter writing was much better...didn't like the lady comedian, but the rest was good. They also had more star players in attendance AND, they had PK and Teemu presenting. Plus the camera always seemed to find PK, that was good too. Anywho, this year was just a patchwork and they just handed the awards with not much else going on. They need Billy Crystal I say. Here's to hoping next year's is better.

Skatingfan, I still say she's a Ducks fan. She did go to a pre-season game for the Ducks even though they were playing the Kings. I'm with LP's reasons though and NO, there is no way Disney is going to trade Paul to the Kings or anywhere else. He's a Duck and hopefully with Teemu, they'll win some Stanley Cups together. They're building the team around Paul, he's they're franchise player much like Yzerman is to the RedWings. Disney has to really commit themselves to the team though and I thought that they're wanting to sell the team last year affected the team and the fans. Why should fans care for a team when their owners don't. Maybe I should put this in the Hockey thread.

Anywho, can't wait to have the Blockbuster Awards on tape. Then we all have to wait until October for another MK sighting, sigh. Guess we all have to make up more fictional stories to keep us functioning this summer.

SHARON, we missed you and thanks for being such an avid BFFF reader. We love hearing from you from time to time so take care of yourself. Don't want to hear you getting sick again.

Just be yourself as MK's motto says. Don't have to write stories or splice pics to enjoy fiction land. But I think Yingshan does require you sign a contract with your blood, but that's about it ;) ;) ;)

yingshan
June 16th, 2000, 12:15 PM
No, only the production staff needs to sign a contract. The *audience* doesn't. But do please leave a tip on your way out. Our talents are starving.

Beth2000
June 16th, 2000, 12:53 PM
Well if I have to give blood y'all are in trouble b/c it will be like squeezing blood out of a turnip ;)

A tip huh? Okay I have twenty-five cents. Is that a big enough tip ;) Oh wait you mean if I hear a tip on Michelle. If I hear anything y'all will be the first one to know.

Eldrick shot a record setting round of 6 under par yesterday at Pebble Beach. The fog is holding up
his round #2 today. He should be at the tee like right now 7p ET. Beth if you haven't cook dinner, please
sacrifice some chicken or tofu, I really want Tiger to win this 100th U.S. Open this year. He is deserving, IMHO. Like Michelle he grew up in front of our eyes, and I am oh so proud of America's favorite son.

Time and place : 6/17/00, 8:40 p pacific time, 6.0 and big Kwan were at 6.0's apartment in El Segundo, they were watching 008's post third round interview.

Jimmy," 008, in 97 you had a 9 stroke lead going into the 4th, what can you take with you from that experience for tomorrow."
008, " Just one stroke at a time, that is the basics."
Jimmy, " At what point of time tomorrow, you can just relax and enjoy ......."
008," To honestly tell you the truth, I know it is good to soak in the beauty of it, but I have to stay in the ZONE............"

Both big Kwan and little Kwan were very proud of her adopted big sib 008.
6.0 thought, I must give my big sib a call tomorrow morning and wish him the best.

Time and place : 6/18/00, 9:30 a Pacific time and at a club house lounge at P. Beach.
008's gf J was so nervous about 008's 4th round that she had to watch Cherie's MK tape to calm herself down. 008 finished his morning practice with his swing coach and found J watching the Susie C's interview of 6.0 at Lake A. in 98
Susie C, "Now 6.0 at what point in your free skate do you think you can relax and just enjoy."
6.0, " After the finishing pose, I can not let go, need to take one element at a time. It is not like after I have completed a difficult jump I can say, I won, I won, I need to concentrate....."
J also watched Leslie Killer Hair V's interview with 6.0 after her sp at worlds.
Killer Hair V, " Now 6.0 what are you bidding for in the lp?"
6.0, " I need to bid to do everything just like in practice."
008, and J were very proud of his little Sib.

The phone rang, 6.0 was at the other end of the line. She wished her big sib the best for his 4th round. They exchanged some thoughts about their competitive experiences. Being in the ZONE was nothing new to them. They mutually wished each other the best for future competitions.

6.0 was rather quiet after the phone call, she was deep in thoughts. Big Kwan noticed that about her sister lately, even when they were having fun in Mexico, or having fun watching golf, there was something very dreamy in her little sister's countenance. 6.0 was thinking about someone who is about 5' 10", with black spiky hair, and a cute almost boyish smile in her subconscious mind. Big Kwan of course knew who 6.0 was thinking about even before 6.0 knew herself. Being the all wise older sister, Big Kwan decided to let 6.0 work this through and discover for herself. In the meantime they have to take another trip, the plane leaves in 2 hours for Toronto.

Time and place : 6/18/00, 10:00 a Pacific time, in the affluent neighborhood of Tustin.

Mom Filip, #9's cook, watched #9 sitting at the table with a huge plate of breakfast in front of him, and he was not touching it. His mind was miles away dreaming about a swan. Mom Filip detected a slight drooling reflex on #9. #9 had just finished watching Eilaram's tape for the 100th time since he received it yesterday.
Mom Filip said ," You have not touched your plate, and you are drooling at the same time, so do you like my cooking or not?"

I have to tell you about Mom Filip. She is a stunningly beautiful Filipino lady in her late 60s She emmigrated to the States 3 years ago. She is richer than #9, 6.0 and 008 combined. Mom Filip grew up in a very rich family from the old beloved country. She had servants, cooks etc waiting on her hand and foot while she was growing up. She loved spending time in the kitchen watching the servants preparing meals. She married, then became a widow at a young age. Her family lost the fortune in WWII. She had to think of a way to raise six children. Since she was such a good cook, she started a family restaurant. She put her heart and soul in the business, and of course her cooking became legendary, like works of art. The restaurant flourished. Before she knew her restuarants became an internationally famous chain. She sent all her children to the States for college and grad school. Gradually, they settled in the U.S. Mom Filip at first was resistant to emmigrate to the U.S., but she missed her children, so 3 years ago, she sold the business and moved in with her youngest daugher and son - in -law, who lived in Tustin. The sale of the chain brought in $ millions. Tustin has her share of celeb and interesting people. #9 lives there, T*da, 008's mother moved into the neighborhood (for real) not too long ago.

Mom Filip soon became one of the most well liked grandmother in the neighborhood. She enjoyed inviting neighbors to her house to eat. She was particularly fond of #9. The admiration was mutual of course, #9 loved to listen to her stories, and life's experiences , and Mom Filip's grandchildren are all #9 fans. Mom Filip was very nuturing towards #9, she invited him to eat almost daily. #9 finally asked if Mom Filip could cook for him. She agreed, but of course she did not need the $, so she had been donating all the $ from #9 to charity. It worked out great.

Back to the #9.
He was so absorbed in his day dream about the Swan, he did not hear Mom Filip.
#9, " Sorry, Mom Filip, my mind was elsewhere. What were you saying?"
Mom Filip, " I bet your mind was off somewhere. Son, give her a call, no use to day dream. You need to do somethig about it."
#9 was a bit embarassed, " Mom Filip, probably easier said than done, I ..........
Well for one thing you spoil me so much, I don't even know which restaurant to take her to if we go out."
Mom Filip, " Don't worry about the restaurant, Restaurant Mom Filip is here to rescue you. Now, I can help you with the food, but I can not call her for you. You need to do that yourself. "
All of a sudden things seemed to be clear as a bell for #9, he knew what he needed to do. He tracked down 6.0's phone #.

Time: 6/18/00 11 am pacific time.
#9 dialed 6.0's phone number, but no one was home............

Tiger must be inspiring you all over the place. Here's to hoping he finishes with a flourish today. BTW, it took me a while to figure out who's who on your story. I think the only one I was sure about was .008 at the beginning. I suggest you take it easy on the code, since we are on BFFF land. Code only applies to outside BFFF stuff, right? So it's safe to post names here. Oh, and LOL about PK's cook. Her name is Robyn in real life though, and I have no idea what her nationality is. Mom Filip, LOL, sounds like a Star Wars name...like Mon Mothma or something, PK would like that!!!

Your turn to write the next one.

BTW, which code do you not understand?
leslie Killer Hair?
Big Kwan is karen, and little Kwan is Michelle.
BTW, the followig are not fiction: the Susie Colber, Leslie Viser, and Jimmy Roberts interviews,
008's mother's real name is Kutida, and in short is Tida, she moved to Tustin sometime ago. Pop, that is what 008 calls his father and his mother according to SI are living in separate houses.
Jimmy Roberts is a NBC guy.
008's gf' s name is Joanna, 008 is 6 ft 2 " tall, I believe Paul Kariya is 5' 10" tall.
I love Mom Filip, I wish she lives in my neighborhood. :lol

What usually takes me 1/2 hour - 3 hours to download at home, I can do it in two minutos. Anywho, downloaded realplayer at my work and pasted the url on the realplayer address bar (as per eilaram) and got to see the slideshow again and I said it the first time LP, it is the BOMB!!! I loved it then and I love it even more so now that you made the pics and the captions bigger. It is a trip down memory lane, isn't it? And we have to thank Chemy and the "baby" one from Amelia for all the spliced pics and for Littlepebbles for putting it all together with her excellent captions and direction. I smell a raise. BRAVA galore. BTW, I showed it to my co-worker and she said we all "are a piece of work" but she loves it and does say they look good together. Now if we can only convince Michelle and Paul...

BTW, it left a slide out, during the ups and downs part, when I had saved it or uploaded it or something and it made the whole thing kind o confusing. I put the picture back and uploaded it again and hopefully it will work.

Here is to answer mano and yingshan’s curious, nosy question at the MK chat. I saw our girl at the Lakers game last Monday night. I was so excited to see her seated at the stand. And being an honorary member of the BFFFer, the first thing I look was whom she was with. I was hoping to see #9 but the camera only showed a facial shot of her. She looks happy and is having a blast. Among the celebs shown, she was the only one who looks right into the viewers with that sweet happy smile. Funny to see her doing a little goofy dance. Do you recall during 1998 World Pro at the backstage, wherein she took off her sweatshirt and did a little goofy dance towards the camera and then cover the lens of the camera with her sweatshirt? She did similar move at Staple center while the camera was on her which just showed how much fun she is having at the game. Her hair was tied back like that style at 2000 Worlds only that the length is longer. I think it is 2 inches below her shoulder. She was wearing this huge hoola hoop earring, which we have never seen her wore. My guess was that her company was Karen and not our boy. Sorry to disappoint you all, coz I am.

Skatingfan, congrats to 008 for winning the US Open. Did you watch the post game interview at the Golf Channel? It was about one hour of interview!

Nosey??? Pshaw!!! That word does not exist in my vocab, Magenta. I was merely wondering if other athletes like...oh...Reggie Miller (yeah, that sounds right) was watching the game besides Michelle. See, there was nothing under my probing questions out there at all. ;) ;) ;) BTW, thanks for telling us about MK's goofy dance. I love how she did last year, it was cute.

Congrats to Tiger. I wish Michelle and Paul would develop that killer instinct Tiger possesses in droves...man, that guy just flattened everybody out there in the field!!!

Now looking forward to Bearpaw's story. :) :) :)

You go girl , were you actually in Staples? I say, you always go to the best events, Masters (Augusta) 99,
Masters? or was it Grand Slam in Green Bay 99, then you were at Lake Arrowhead 7/4.

I have been in a PARRRRRRTEEEEEING mood since Sunday. Tiger was awesome. U.S. Open is not supposed to be Tiger's kind of tourney b/c of the extra long, thick rough and fast green. But he proved us all wrong. Before the tourney, I was telling my friends Tiger by 3 strokes, and I thought I was being too optimistic.
Since Sunday I have been chanting while facing Windemere everday, " Master Tiger, I am not worthy."

As a Tiger fan I am glad he is playing golf, b/c there is no subjective judges decision, Ahh..........I have always said Tiger has decades to establish his legend, Mk only has 6 minutes on slippery ice. Golf , being an individual sport, Tiger does not have to play defense or rely on his team mates either. Mano, I agree tiger has killer instinct. I won't say Mk or Pk are lacking. MK is more consistent than any skater, and again her fate is in the hands of judges, and scores are subjective at times. Another thing is that I think Tiger's experience growing up, and having to deal with a lot of stuff makes him go for the kill with his club. Think about it when he was 6 y/o? some kids tied him up and wrote an ugly word on him. He later said, " no bitterness, it is not in my nature." The government golf course that his father played in kicked Tiger out when he was 3 -4 years old, for what, with the excuse /reason that he was too young. Tiger learnt to speak with his club since he was young. Remarkable young man who channeled his energy in the proper direction. Sorry, I have to vent and gush.

Thanks beefers for offering the chicken/tofu to the golf gods. I will be offering chicken daily between now and St.Andrews. British Open with the long wide course is supposed to fit Tiger's game better than e.g. U.S. Open, but of course he had not done too well in B.O. the past. I hope this year will be the year.:)

You wouldn't believe how much golf I watched this past weekend. I wouldn't believe it myself if someone told me years ago that I would watch a golf tournament for hours on end. I watched the whole 18 holes on Sunday, part of Saturday and part of Friday. Tiger was so awesome that I felt like bowing like those fans did along the 18th fairway. "We're not worthy!" The shot on the sixth hole on Friday was unbelievable. Did you see that? He musled his ball out of the fairway rough, over a hugh tree, up a hill, over the bay and onto the green. The ball traveled 215 yards. Because of the hill, he couldn't see the green at all. It's a blind shot and he had to deal with the tall tree in his path and the water. He got it onto the green! That was such an amazing play. He just got out of trouble with amazing shots after amazing shots. And the commentators would whisper before he putted: "Everybody missed right today." Tiger would then put the ball dead center into the cup. It was just amazing. His mom looked so proud and happy. They didn't show his girlfriend though. Report said she's there but no one recognized her in the crowd. Tiger is really buffed up, isn't he? He's much slender two years ago when I saw him in person in LA Open.

Magenta, mano and me nosy? This came from the woman who sent the HOC to #9? :) Thanks for the info. Glad to hear they showed MK on the jumbo trum. Too bad that nobody caught her companion. I told my sis about MK's appearance during the Lakers game. She's wondering how MK got her ticket. We figured the ticket was probably a gift from one of her sponsor. Chevy or Disney.

Beth, I meant "tip", money. :) We're all staring artists here. We need finanical support to keep our production going. :( No, 25 cents won't do it.

Mano, I agree. Tiger has killer instinct in droves. His concentration level and the competitiveness are simply amazing. He never let up during the four days. He never let his opponents back into the game once he had the lead. He's such a great finisher. I do think MK and PK can learn something from him, subjective judges or not. Yeah, British Open awaits. It will be something if he can clinch his career GS at 24. I'll probably watch that too. This is really not good for my figure, being a couch potato. :)

Where is Chemy? I'm still waiting for the final copy of my book cover. Sorry, I haven't gotten time to write chapter 3. Although I do have the plot line down.

Like I said, killer instinct in droves as in FLATTEN (and I mean obliterated) the field to the point that they just wanted to toss out their clubs over the cliffs at Pebble beach 'cause they figured the fish had more of a chance to catch Tiger than they did. My fave part during the whole tournament was hearing Faldo (just plain cracks me up, that Harrison Ford twin), Price, Watson, Niclaus, Els etc talk about Tiger after the comp. They were just blown away the whole time and just shook their head 'cause they played in the same conditions Tiger did, yet Tiger hit practically all the fairways and his short game was phenomenal.

Anywho, THAT is what I want Michelle's competitors to feel after they get flattened by her at a comp. You know how they keep saying competition is good for Michelle and all that? Well, they said during Tiger's fourth round that Tiger has no competition, but he pushed himself. Tiger's goal was not to get a bogey during all 18 holes and he didn't. He didn't think about records he was going to break and all that nor did he look back at the pack. He just kept on his game. LOL, I think he was a bit disappointed I think 'cause you knew he wanted to birdie 18 so bad, but settled for that par. He didn't want to settle for -12, he wanted that -13 just as badly even though he could have won with a -1. He never stopped pushing.

It's creepy when they showed Niclaus and Tiger's record by age 24 side-by-side, you see how similar they are in that both won 3 majors by that age and other things. Tiger's dream was to win more majors than Niclaus, one of Tiger's competitors said he might win a hundred in his lifetime. He has that kind of drive and it's his motivation.

Michelle has that competitive fire, but sometimes, and she's said so herself I think, that she finds it hard to find the motivation. Or when she won '00 worlds, she had said she wished she can find out where she got the motivation between Natl's and Worlds so she can bottle it up. You know how Michelle says that she tries not to look at the competition and that her competition is herself. That's what they say of Tiger too except Tiger really uses that to push himself. He doesn't need a rivalry even though the media has built up one with him and Sergio, him and Duval, him and Sutton, him and Singh, him and new kid on block, him and etc. It's that killer instinct I'm talking about.

As for Paul...something holds this guy back sometimes and I can't get a reading on what exactly it is. He can get in the zone and be in his zen like state, but it's hard to share that with a team. He's a captain, and he has to make sure to motivate his team to win...they have to have that killer instinct too. Those who play with him say that he motivates them to play better by his actions or how hard he works, but I think he needs to spell it out on their next team meeting that it has to be for all 3 periods for all 82 games and beyond.

Maybe if, like Tiger, he spells out that he wants to be equal to or better than Gretzky, (HA! Fat chance, but hey, great motivation.) I don't know, don't even know if he wants to be a playmaker, a goal scorer or a balance of both. I know that his coach Craig wants him to be like Batman, Steve Yzerman...but Paul Kariya has to be Paul Kariya and push himself to be the best. But he's too humble to make a statement like that. Come to think of it, Michelle is like that too, humble to the bone.

Not that Tiger is humble, he is, but his killer instinct is just in his eyes, you can't miss it. Actually, Tiger's killer instinct is like a being of its own that actually goes out of it's way to introduce itself to Tiger's competitors and then you watch Tiger blow away the field. Feels good doesn't it. Sheesh, I wish I had that.

Okay, this is way too long already...so in conclusion, Paul and Michelle need that Tiger killer instinct...er...and then they lived happily ever after, yeah that's it.

I found this on SI website yesterday about Tiger that probably illuminates his killer instinct better than anything else. It's in Tiger Scrapbook on SI site. It's a 1991 article in which SI wrote about 15-year-old Tiger: "He needed a birdie. But of course, he went for an eagle. That was Tiger." Tiger was not satisfied with just winning. He wants to beat his competitors so badly that they would not have a chance for a comeback and they would fear him in the future. Maybe the modesty and compassion in MK and PK work to their disadvantage. Tiger doesn't seem to be overtly bothered by others' feelings or opinions as MK does. He was called @#%$y and arrogant when he first turned pro. But now nobody would call him that since his golf has silenced all critics. In one SI article, his mother was interviewed and she said he got that killer instinct from her.

I've been wishing MK would care less about other people's feelings or opinions and just work on her own skating. She seems to be doing that since the Nationals. I hope she'll carry this attitude to SLC.

well...I didn't watch but I did see the highlights on the news (though I was most impressed by the beauty of the course...made me think of how ugly in comparison it will be next year but that's besides the point)...B/c of the gushing that occured since then I actually read an article about Tiger in the paper...It's an AP article...but there's a quote by Els that I thought fit the direction that this thread has taken..."That hunger for winning a major championship...it's there every week, to be honest with you, I don't feel like that every week when I'm playing. He's just different. Whether it's a regular tournament or a major, he's going to be 110 percent...I'm not sure if there's a lot of players like that out there."

Michelle did say she could even go for 2006. I say go on ahead girl and do what makes you blissfully happy!!! (you know weddings also are associated with bliss so...skating, college, PK...hey, she's set!!!) I so wish!!!

Anywho, worse comes to worse, I'll write both of 'em and tell PK to start talking to his hockey stick and for Michelle to talk to her skates 'cause Tiger talks to his clubs. ;) ;) ;)

Which reminds me, I still have to write a thank you card to Michelle, which I've been procrastinating to do AND send that CMN thing for Diane0's project. I am unbelievably sooo last minute.

BTW, did you ALL see those pics of Michelle from the IFS magazine??? Can we say, sizzlin' or what??? I smell a "send that over to PK", hehehe, just kidding. Eilaram had said that it was too many hints. Sigh...well if the Ducks ever come to play the Rangers next season at Madison Square Garden I'll bring a sign or something...or throw the IFS magazine onto the Ducks bench and hopefully my bad aim will hit Paul in the face.

Oh, and, I'm going to San Diego to attend a wedding at the end of July and may even visit some relatives in LA...God willing. It's going to be very short trip though, from July 28-August 2nd, I think, so won't be able to do a lot. But hey, it's a few days off from work AND I get to be in the same state and within 2 hours from my fave athletes. How cool is that. Yeah, I know, they should like hide or something.

The Mighty Ducks totally renovated their website ('bout time) and it's fly if I should say so myself!!! Easier to navigate than the old site and easier to get new info up front. THAT plus they have a better message board (S'BOUT TIME!!!) that I can really feel at home in 'cause it's made like EZBoard, yippie-KYAAEEEE!!! Yeah, I registered and I'm mano there too 'cause I'm mano here, mano there, mano everywhere. Anywho, I'll be strictly hockey there and can actually rant to my hearts content (using nice words, of-course). OOOH, I'm SO EXCITED!!! Happy happy joy joy, happy happy joy. Oh, hey, Ren and Stimpy's back on Nick, how cool is that???

This place sure is quiet, hint hint someone write a story please.

OK, YS, and Mano I am sacrificing chicken/tofu daily for all three of our favorite athletes.

Most pressing of course is Tiger with the British Open.
He already has killer instinct, hope he keeps it.
He is not doing bad in the Love department. I just reread the 1999 June issue of ESPN
magazine, on his interview/ article. The writer said Tiger was/is doing so much better
since Joanna.
Humility, I don't know how he ranks among athletes, especially the ones who are dominant
#1 in the world. IMHO, ideally, there should not be a different standard of judging an athlete in the
humility dpt regardless of how they rank. That is one of the millions of reasons why I love
Michelle so much. 3 days after he won U.S. open Tiger post his monthly column for his fans
in his site. He talked about many things, including being a die hard laker fan. About the Open,
he said it was difficult for him to comprehend what he did, not b/c he didn't think he was capable of playing so well, but b/c he was out there doing it. He was grinding so hard, he never even thought of the ramifications. He attributed that to peaking at just the right time, drawing good tee times, and having several good breaks. He said his best swing was approach shot in #8 on Sunday, he wanted to hit a 6 iron 3 or 4 yards onto the green with a soft fade, and it did exactly what he wanted. BTW, he made par on that one. When he answered his fans email that day, he talked quite a lot about working hard. So, my conclusion is that is is OK in the humility dpt.

Paul and Michelle are excellent in the humility department. I actually appreciate that they never WHINE.
It is so important I think for a team captain or the best elite athlete, e.g. Michelle in her sport not to WHINE. I remember how Karl Malone whined about not having a dominant center in his team. The sportscasters at the time all said, "karl , you are the leader of the team, just quit whining and play ball".
I never heard MK Whining about having tough and stiff competition in U.S. that no one would like to comepte in our nationals.

Now the most important department is the third one in the title.
Somehow the Swan and the MD are not cooperating. Paul and Michelle it is good for your game,
listen to Tiger on this one. ;)

mano
June 26th, 2000, 11:13 AM
is Tiger human??? If you prick him will he not bleed? The moment he bombs at the British Open the press will probably do an about face just like they do for Michelle, you think.

Enough Tiger talk this is BFFF...we need a story, a pic, or something. No news on PK anywhere, no sightings since I posted that he was seen with his brother last month. Hey, I don't remember if I mentioned it, but I signed up to be in Teemu's Yahoo club and boom, no new journals from him either. What am I a disease or something? The week before I joined, he had like 2 journal entries and answered 6 questions from his fans there. Weird wild stuff.

Oh and then there's the case of the missing kjesse. Ever since she went to that Ducks game, she never posted on BFFF. If it's bubble bursting news, we can handle it. I've seen her post on the baseball thread and sometimes on the hockey thread too but never on BFFF, sigh. You are missed.

I'm back and I'm so tempted to edit the thread and I don't know why.

Beth is willing to campaign for me Yeah.

Beth is risking going against posting rules of having both personal pics and signature pictures to campaign
for her friends, and you Mano, you are not even willing to put me sideways into the MK/Pk story. Beth, I just don't ever want to see you get rid of your personal pic in service of campaign jingles, b/c I love the 2 y/o MK in your personal pic.

No problem, maybe I can talk Yingshan into appointinting me as the East Coast Chief chicken inspector, and save all the trouble of campaign jingles.

Yes, this is BFFF, enough of Tiger, but Mano since you brought it up about what will happen if Tiger is
pricked or cut. He said in his latest column, the post U.S. open one that if you cut him open he is all
"purple and gold", ie Lakers fan.

Beth, yes, Eldrick's parents raised a fine son.

Now that we know Karen's friend post here, maybe j.c. will read BFFF and past the message to Karen, then to Michelle.

Time for someone to write a story. PLEASE.

What's Jesus Christ got to do with BFFF...aside from the fact I keep praying the following prayer:

Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord, Michelle and Paul to keep
And if I die before they get hitched
I pray the Lord give me 1st row tickets to their wedding ;) ;) ;)

Okay so it doesn't rhyme, you guys get the idea.

Ahem, guys. Come back to our subject title, shall we?

I browsed through People magazine that comes out today in Barnes & Noble. Its cover story is "100 Most Eligible Bachelors in the US". Not sure what constitutes as "eligible" this day and age. The criteria used to be pedigree, money and looks. People tried to go both way. It has the required rich and famous Hollywood celeb and a lot guys who happened to be in the news such as a firefighter, an environmentalist, some do-gooders etc. Out of the 100, I only found 5 *attractive*. A lot of guys on the list are good looking, but I am not attracted to them, if that makes sense. :)

The one tops *my* list is George Prescott Bush, grandson of the former president and son of Florida Governor Jeb Bush. Oh, you really need to see him, BFFFers. I saw him on TV before because he's campaigning for his uncle George W. Bush. I always find him dreamily attractive. But the picture in People is just unbelievable. His mother is Mexican. He has the Latin look, olive skin and dark eyes. In this picture, he's wearing a rumpled white shirt and lying on a white sheet. Ooooh, dreamy. Too bad he's only 24. Oh, well, he's more Michelle's age. He's been working as a paralegal and he's going to law school in Texas in September. He has a similar background as JFK Jr. but I found him much more attractive. To me, JFK Jr always has an air of I-am-handsome-and-famous-and-I-know-it. George P. Bush struck me as more unassuming, mature and less the playboy quality. He's also very well-spoken, from the interviews I saw on TV. If his uncle wins the presidential election in November, he probably will be as big as JFK Jr. when JFK Jr. was alive. The young Bush is handsomer than any young Latin stars in the entertainment business. He's listed as #4, behind Matt Damon (#3). Sorry, Matt Damon has nothing on him, except money. Too bad he's not going to UCLA law school. Otherwise, we can start a new chapter of the BFFF. :)

The other guys I found attractive include a state legislator in Texas, a restauranter in Miami, a computer billionaire and Ralph Lauren's oldest son. I probably should exclude the last one because he's "actor/producer". In other words, he doesn't have a *real* job. Can't you believe it, PK is not on the list? They list Dallas Stars' Mike Monado (sp?) but no PK. I think PK is better looking and a bigger star. None of the Asian guys on the list is even good looking. What's up? They don't have Russel Wong's, B. D. Wong's, Paul Kariya's telephone number? They picked the handicapped golfer Case Martin, but no Tiger Woods. Weird.

skatingfan

YS, stoop drooling over Bushy, :lol ;)
I watched dateline this week ,they mentioned about the 100.
I think one of the criteria is that these guys can not be involved in a relationship or can not
be dating the same gal for 12 months prior to the selection. So Eldrick, TIGER is definitely
out. I am surprise Derick Getter is in the list, isn't he dating Moriah Carey?
Maybe PK is not listed b/c they know he has been seeing our lady of eternal grace for the
past year. Or BBT, he is seeing Ms. Tropicana/ Hawaii/ Finland?, or Ms. Teacher/Vancouver?

Actually, I thought they need to do a 100 BAcherlorette issue also.

BTW, can we email people asking them to put in PK and MK next year.

Random thoughts, did you guys/gals read Brennans latest article on Anna Kournakova
I don't know AK is the #1 female athelte in terms of endorsement $10 mil, PHLEESEE give me a
break, she has never won a tourney.

But she is a looker, I know, all my male collegues LUUVVVV her, and drool big time.
Interesting these guys also love Michelle. They are the average American
sports fans who follow football, baseball etc, follow tennis some and minimally watch f.s, ie they watch the olympics, and may not even watch nationals or worlds.
They mostly like MK's skating for , "she floats on the ice" , and she looks "cute", i.e. the
13 y/o MK image stay with them. Most of them can not stand "perkiness" in
a skater. They found that "irritating". "Perkiness" and "irritating" are their words, not mine.

We are in message #54, someome write a story please.

he's cute, but not for Michelle. This guy is going straight to politics and though I wouldn't mind him being the first really good looking President in the future, I'd rather see Michelle next to PK...with a couple of their kids named after us right by their side, hehehe ;) ;) ;) . I'm kidding. Skating and politics don't mix anyway...'sides there's enough politics in figure skating with El Cin in charge. Hockey and skating do mix...schedules the same...summers spent together...not campaigning for anybody. Would rather see Michelle skate...and no, don't want to see her wear a costume that says, George for Pres.

BTW, I saw that magazine too at a news stand while waiting for a train and wondered if PK made the list, but I didn't get a chance to check...I think Modano made it 'cause last year Dallas Stars won the cup and they were in the finals this year (although they lost) so he's more in the spotlight than PK...PK has been keeping an unbelievably low profile these days.

yingshan
July 1st, 2000, 10:41 AM
I'm drooling? Nah, my mouth is dry. :)

George P. Bush is more than "cute". He's "hot", if you know what I mean. ;) He said he doesn't like girls who are obsessed with politics. Although I also think he'll get into politics one day, he apparently doesn't want a mate who's into politics. As we found out, hockey season and skating season made a hockey player and a figure skater apart for almost nine to ten months a year. It's hard. Maybe a law student has more time... BTW, I've always entertained the idea of Michelle going into politics herself in the future. I always thought she's too good and too intelligent to just earn a living in strictly figure skating world such as commentating for the rest of her life. She's intelligent, articulate and respected. She can be a lot more than just a figure skater. Who knows. Linking with George P. Bush may gear her toward that direction someday.

Anna Kournikova has a face of a 15-year-old. The guys who drool over her must have entertained fantasies of Lolita. Her endorsement deals just tell one thing: sports marketing is still a very male-dominant world. They still prefer female athletes who are the object of their sexual fantasies than the ones who achieved success through their hard work.

Mano, Modano is very handsome. I just don't find him *attractive*. :) BTW, extra crispy has turned staled after such a long time. It must be as hard as a ply wood by now. Hint, hint, hint...

who's to say they weren't cozy during those long winter months when the games or comps weren't on. NO, I hope Michelle never goes or marries into politics, she has too much INTEGRITY and HONESTY for that. 'Sides she wanted to be a lawyer once, they'd be arguing too much if a lawyer marries a lawyer among other things...like Hillary and Bill ;) ;) ;) Besides...would you really want Michelle to go through a Monica fiasco with the whole world watching??? Ick, ick, ick...

So, I guess you gave up on Kariya, eh? Unbelievable, find another pretty face and boom, Kariya's old news. Hmmmnnn, no wonder Extra Crispy's been stale, she's been feeling the bad vibes comin' from the boss and it's suffocating her creative energy. BTW, I'm at work right now doing overtime...yes ever since my job took on another account other than Citibank and assigned me in it (adding to my already full plate) back in February, my story writing output has been affected especially IAC, sigh...

Although Mike Modano cannot really replace PK, one of the reasons that he's in the magazine is that he recently broke up with his fiancee/gf of TEN years. I think her name is Kerry. Mike's really cute (his bunny teeth), but I really feel sad for his ex.

But if you're opposing George P. so strongly, I'll get him for myself then. :lol What does age difference matter right? ;) I'm disappointed with the lack of progress made by PK. Hey, our girl can't wait for him forever. She has done her part by going to his games. He hasn't made any moves. It's been at least one and half year. Nobody can blame our girl to look elsewhere. People only posted 10 celebrities on the site. He looked so hot in that pic. He's a lot more mature and manly looking than Pete Sampras or Ricky Martin. IMO Pete and Ricky have baby faces. He's also less hairy than Pete. :lol The pic you posted isn't his best pic. He was on GMA one day and GMA has a good picture of him. He was all suited up and clean shaven. I wasn't grabbed like I was for PK, meaning, I didn't go hmmmnnn, good man material for Michelle. I was more like, "he's a Bush???" With his looks, I don't find it as exotic...maybe because I know too many people who resemble him in NYC whereas PK's looks are more rare here.

I still can't believe you've given up on PK. Sheesh, I feel so betrayed all of a sudden. I think I'm going to go on a strike like Michelle. ;) ;) ;)

Sorry to change subjects, please at least eat some chicken this week. Master Tiger is trying to defend
his Western Title at Cog Hill this week. If he suceeds this would be his third western title. Thanks.:)

Will do skatingfan...I think I'm going to call this chapter the "Tiger beating around the Bush" thread. Like what happened to all things PK and MK story and pics??? Okay, so I'm guilty of not writing anything, but I've been busy with work and I still have to work on July 4th (at home, but it's still work, grumble).

You can always come up with a cute line.
Well, don't blame me for the lack of PK/MK stories. I did my part.

that's cool I say. Anywho, checked out the map just to look at the distance between point A and point B. Things look real far on the map...so I wouldn't know exactly how long the drive is from one place to another. She lives close to LAX, El Segundo, and UCLA, and that's a positive in terms of training and going to comps as well as school. I checked out Lake Arrowhead and man that looks like a long drive...okay so I checked out where Arrowhead Pond was in proportion to where she lived and Tustin of-course and sheesh it looks far but what do I know. The things one does when one suffers from Acute Writer's Block Syndrome(AWBS).

Just check out GMAN's thread on MK Fan Chat about Michelle buying a townhouse in a gated community in Manhattan Beach. BTW, doesn't Paul own a townhouse too at Tustin Ranch??? Things that make you go hmmnnn...

Tiger owns an apartment in Manhantan Beach too. LP, it's under one hour WITHOUT TRAFFIC. There's no direct freeway between MB and Anaheim or Tustin Ranch. They have to get around lots of local streets or diferent freeway connections. Considering Southland's traffic, it can be anywhere from one to one and a half hours.

I just caught George P. on TWO local TV news. He's in Santa Ana, a heavy Hispanic community, today to campaign for his uncle. He's walking around the old downtown area in a blue shirt and grey pants. Local NBC and ABC reporters followed him around. ABC interviewed him and showed his picture in the People magazine. He said People approached him and he thought it would be humorous to do something like that. He said he didn't dream People would rank him as #4 on the list. He was shown sitting in baber shop and restaurants to talk to people about issues. He looked very sincere, down to earth, and very comfortable in chatting with strangers. ABC reporters mentioned that his own star was rising but he said he would get into law school. Both NBC and ABC mentioned he has the movie star looks. The ABC female anchor mentioned how his grandfather and uncle called him the "good looking Bush". She then said he's cute. He certainly looked good. :) Funny thing is his uncle was in Southland yesterday. I think George P. got a longer peice on ABC than his uncle did. Never undermind the power of the looks and the status of celebrity. :)

so Michelle and Paul will probably never hook up 'cause of the hour and 1/2 drive to each other's homes. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Goodbye BFFF, sniff, sniff...

Setting: in the board room in the headquarter of the Kings.

The general manager was snapping at all his assistants,
"Why haven't you guys make it happen and sign him up yet?"

Assistant, "Boss not so easy, he likes his contract, and the bonus of unlimited trips to both Disney Worlds and Land sure helps. And he said he hates to move. He left some room for negotiation, that is if we know what his terms are."

Manager,"Show him the money, everyone loves money."

Assistant, "I did, but he said 'show me the Kwan.'"

Manager,"What? have we changed our currency from dollar to Kwan?"

Assistant, " That is what I don't understand, what is the Kwan. He said the Kwan is the one who rules supreme on the ice. Has Gretzy changed his name? He also said he will only move, if he is relocated to Manhattan Beach and has a townhouse right next to the Swan. Has Lynn Swan moved to El Segundo? "

Manager, " So what are you waiting for, find the Kwan and the Swan."

Assistant, " I am going to do it right now. He said I may be able to figure the Kwan and Swan out by logging on Beefer land in the net, he gave me the URL, oops, I lost it."

Manager, " You idiot, at least you have something to search for, go , if Kwan rules supreme on the ice, maybe we should sign Kwan up too."

Yingshan, I think I have earned my pay check for this chapter. :)

weird wild stuff, we hit a thousand and aside from skatingfan's two stories, we talked mostly about Tiger and George P. Dude, people must be really tired of Kariya. Speaking of the Kings, my STU Grimson is gone!!! Aargh...he's now with the Kings...oh the tragedy and I had so much plans for this guy in my stories...oh well, that's why they call it fiction. Hey, hope that means he can keep a watch on Michelle for Paul over at Health South. Okay, that makes me happy.

Well, I hope MK is having a happy birthday today.

is the fun loving enforcer of the Ducks opponents usually run from. Tough as nails on the outside and a true softy on the inside. Everybody loves this guy off the ice. He's sort of like Paul Wylie on Steroids. (Not the looks, more like the belief, they're both Born Again Christians). I'm going to miss this guy, he's the one Paul usually calls when he wants his competition for Michelle pulverized. Well, that's what we usually write in our stories. He's also known as the Grim Reaper. Neat, huh?

Oh, Littlepebbles, time to start a new chapter and hopefully it will be chock full of stories and spliced pics.

Sharon, good thing you don't control the purse string. :)

Skatingfan, cute story! The writer's check will go to you this month since the extra crispy has been coming out excuses after excuses and I'm busy working on my website.

Mano, you're talking up a storm and pointing the finger everywhere but yourself. Sorry, it doesn't work. I still notice how non-productive you've been recently. ;) Before you decry my talking about George P., get this: people said a lot of Kings players live in Manhattan Beach too. You should worry more about some Kings players stealing MK away from PK than George P. :)
