BFFFers' Ten Commandments by Yingshan
10. You shall not put forth any KFC around MK's temple where we worship.
9. You shall put the success of our production above your personal gain (no whining about pay)
8. You shall do everything to further our causes, e.g. sending PK a MK's book, hinting of MK when you can talk to PK, no matter whether it makes you a laughingstock.
7. You shall not nominate any guys for MK lightly (You shall do a detailed background check before mentioning it here). Our girl deserves the best.
6. You shall not be vulgar in any creative writing or picture splicing.
5. You shall not throw yourself at any guy who we consider a good match for MK no matter how attractive you find him to be or how close you get to him. This is a non-competitive clause.
4. You shall not mention any BFFF outside of this thread, especially not in any PK Forum.
3. You shall have a sense of humor.
2. You shall not mistake any writings here as "news".
1. You shall bow to the high pristess's wisdom at all time! (Should be optional if you ask me)

For first time visitors WELCOME. This is 100% fan fiction. Fan fictioners agree to start a new chapter whenever the thread grows to 80 messages long. We also agree to never discuss this fan fiction material outside of Fan Fiction Land, i.e. we do not post any of this in rssif, FSW, or other threads in this MK forum etc. [Or the PK Forum] Fan fictioners are in the process of producing a play on MK and PK - Paul Kariya the captain of Mighty Ducks. The genius writer is Mano, contributing writers are Kooky, Yingshan (who is also the set designer), Wonder, A-Chan, and Littlepebbles. Chemy is the photographer. Magenta is the ultimate matchmaker, and the rest are managers of this co. I come here just to chill out. Sometimes we refer to MK as 6.0 b/c of the unprecedented # of perfect 6.0s she earned, and PK as #9, he wears #9.
Yingshan
To New Comers: Welcome to our fantasyland! The purpose of this place is for us to have some fun with our favorite skater: Michelle Kwan. We weave fictional accounts and speculations into very skimpy facts. So you'll be in serious trouble if you take what we say here seriously. And everything we say here are for your and our eyes only. None of this should be repeated elsewhere on the USNET, e.g. RSSIF, FSW.... [Or the PK Forum!!!!!]
We're creating a romance novel/movie script. It's temporarily named "Ice to Ice" (I like "Icy Affairs" better). The leads are Michelle Kwan ("6.0") and Mighty Ducks captain Paul Kariya (#9). No, we don't know whether there's anything going on between them. We pick them to write because we think they make a perfect couple. [And not only because they're both Asian, or Asian and 1/2 Asian!] The main screen writer is Mano. I'm the producer/editor. My partner in production is Magenta. Chemy is our photographer. Wonder is my co-editor. Skatingfan is our sound whiz. Blizzard is our art director. Kooky and annabelle are on our contributing writing team. Littlepebbles is our director.
Welcome to stay and watch our creative process. But please obey our confidentiality rule. We don't want our brilliant ideas being pirated.
One More Criteria.....
for anyone who wants to read here:
YOU NEED A SENSE OF HUMOR!

Do not adjust your monitors, you have just entered...the Boyfriends Fan Fiction Zone (AKA BFFF)
If you are feeling lightheaded, dizzy, and see Michael Jordan back with the Chicago BULLs (pun intended), you must STOP, click the "Back button" and seek medical attention quickly.

May I present the stars of the show...

This is LP here:
Not that PK fans aren't welcome, they are as long as they don't show up trolling, send threatening e-mails, or go running back to the PK forum bashing us and Michelle. Cause unfortunately all that stuff has happened. Hope everyone enjoys our antics and don't be scared of Yingshan, she only bites on Tuesdays. :oÞ
Note: It used to be Yingshan only bit on Tuesdays, but she has made it known that she bites when she is in the mood, so watch out for her.

does anyone know who Lynn Swan is? there was this article in the sports section of the OC register today making fun of last names...the guy thought it'd be funny if certain people got married and their last names got put together (like mia hamm and kevin bacon-hee hee)..then he started to rhyme names and said lynn swan and michelle kwan...i thought that was kinda funny...i'll check to see if it's online...

Thanks for sharing Akemi!!! I like the "PAK BELL PARK" the best though. Too bad he didn't try Kwan-Kariya. Okay, so it's not as creative as the others, but quite a match I say and would really give 'em something to talk about.

Lynn Swan is old enough to be MK's father.
He is one of the best wide receiver in the history of football. How could i ever forget in the late 70s, or was in 1980, the pittsburg steelers destroyed my Dallas cowboys in the superbowl. Cowboys lost by 4 points , ie the difference between a touch down and field goal. I can never forget the cowboy tight end who dropped a pass at the end zone.
Anyhoo, Lynn swan and John Stalworth were the 2 wide receivers, of course Bradshaw was the QB and Franco Harris the full back, and the steelers had mean Joe Green.
That was the most devastating defeat I ever had to face in my sports world so far, relative to my age of course. So BTw, the olys 98 is nothing compare to this, and I don't hate the steelers either.
Lynn Swan was/is tall lean and acrobatic, mildly flashy, but controlled type of flash. He has been described as graceful in his catches He is nice looking for a football player. I believe he is still commentating.
A year ago at fsw there was a thread " who is the most graceful swan" and some guy called Ed nominated Lynn.
So A Chan are you sorry that you asked? :lol
Fellow fanfictioners and to all those who are lurking, have a nice holiday.

The arena seemed to go crazy with screaming. Michelle's teammates rushed onto the ice, throwing their helmets up in the air. They surrounded her, hugging her and slapping her on the back. Someone had called the press and a photographer was at rinkside taking pictures. John Jones stepped into the player's box(?) to congratulate Paul. Then Paul and his hockey players shook hands with the Huns and their coach. When Michelle went by the players box, Mr. Jones was waiting for her.
"Well, young lady, you certainly did your team proud today," he said. How would you like to play with us full time - as yourself and not Mike Swan?"
Michelle was flattered but shook her head. "Thank you anyway, but I think I'll go back to figure skating. I really miss it."
Mr. Jones seemed to accept her explanation. "I canned Surfer, are you sure you don't want his job?" he joked. They both laughed.
"Well, I guess I'll be going to change now," Michelle said. Mr. Jones shook her hand and congratulated her once again and then left. Michelle turned around to head to the locker room and came face to face with Paul. She stopped in her tracks and looked at him.
Paul looked back at her. His face looked a little red, but maybe it was the cold from the ice. "I…you…" he began. Michelle looked at him expectantly. "You play good," Paul finished lamely.
Michelle felt a little disappointed but she hid it from her face. "Thanks. Well, see you later." She walked off to find a ladies locker room to change.
Paul looked after her, mentally kicking himself for his comment. Then he heard a voice at his side. It was Mr. Jones.
"A wise man once said 'the flower than blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all'," he said. Paul looked at him in confusion. Mr. Jones added, "He also said, 'you don't meet a girl like that every dynasty'." Paul still stared and Mr. Jones took the KISS route. "Ask her out dummy!"

Michelle came out of the locker room. Her teammates came over to congratulate her one last time. One guy even asked for her autograph. "For my sister," he said hastily. "She likes watching you skate." The guys began to clear out until only one was left. And that was Paul.
Michelle was very surprised to see Paul standing there. "Uh…hi," she said.
"Hi," Paul said. "I was just wondering…I mean if you're not too busy…or if you want to…oh, never mind!"
Michelle grinned. "Would you like to go to dinner?"
"Oh!" Paul exclaimed. "Sure! Of course!"
Michelle smiled. "Great! Where will we go?"
They began to walk to the doors.
Later that evening/night
Paul walked Michelle to her front door. Michelle said, "Well, thanks for coming to dinner with me."
"No problem and thanks for inviting me," Paul said. He paused and then took a deep breath. "I'm sorry about the way I treated you earlier today. I mean about not listening to you when you tried to explain why you did what you did."
"It's okay," Michelle said. "If I were you, I'd be mad at me too. And I'm sorry for deceiving you and everyone else."
Paul smiled at her. "I guess were even now." Michelle smiled back. "I guess we are," she said. Neither of them broke their gaze. Then Paul slowly leaned down and…
…out of nowhere popped Teemu.
<font size=+2>I'M KIDDING!!!!!! DON'T BLOW YOUR STACK!!!!!</font>
Paul slowly leaned down and gave Michelle a gentle kiss. Then he stepped away and started down the walk.
"Good night Michelle."
"Good night Paul."
~The End~
I know maybe you all wanted a bigger kissing scene, but it's the first date for pete's sake!

THAT's it??? Can't be!!! Where are the "long wet kisses that lasts for three months" or whatever Kevin Costner said to Susan Sarandon in Bull Durham??? I'm kidding, I'm kidding, Yingshan would ban me just for saying that.

Seriously, when I saw that fsw reopened its registrations, I was all set to register. Then I think, I really don't want to blow my fuse at the next posting by some TROLL and have the good name of MK fans smeared (this was before THE GASEOUS PLANET entered its orbit and things were pretty tame), so I procrastinated...and now registrations is closed again. ARGGGHHH. I'm sorry, I'm sorry!
Actually, the stuff posted on fsw isn't so bad...watching people's reactions to TGP's posts is rather amusing, even. The only one that seriously ticked me off was the whine on MK's edges "other than one spiral" etc etc. And mano handled that barb beautifully, as always.
As for the stuff over on Skating Chat, I didn't even bother going over to that other board. Life's too short to waste time reading garbage.
Lovely ending to a lovely story, lp. Now I'm waiting for the sequel...

would be fun. I think you usually have a much cooler head than a lot of people including me. I will not ever stop pestering you about it hehehe..........., so next time when registration is open again, I will bring it up,hope you don't mind.

I did go and check out that board. In a way, it's sort of a mirror of oneself. Sometimes I tend to take fandom waaaay too seriously, so it's a good thing to get some perspective on things looking from the other side of the fence. Off topic: there was a thread on the (now defunct) Stars/Avs series. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that those who posted were mostly Stars fans...
Actually, I'm pretty hotheaded. I can discuss things rationally, but not in response to trolls. And I'm pitifully short on wit, so I am afraid of embarassing myself in those "encounters," so to speak. But I promise to register...when I get around to it. :b
Ick, can't seem to keep this on topic. Sorry.

1. The following story is different from the recent ones. As you know, my other stories consisted of Paul and Michelle already fictionally dating and going steady. This story follows the premise from Michelle's statement on USA Today that "she doesn't have a boyfriend yet." This is set right after Michelle ended her COI '00 tour.
2. I linked a song by blues singer and slide guitar player, Bonnie Raitt, entitled "I Can't Make You Love Me". Click on the link to get into the mood. I was actually planning to make the story totally depressing to match the mood of the song but decided against it. 'Sides, can't see Paul and Michelle in too serious and depressing a situation like I originally thought up.
3. I am not nor ever will be Lori Nichol so you can begin thanking God now for that one. So I'm warning you that whatever choreographic element you see Michelle do in the story, just keep repeating these words to yourself, "mano is not the genius Lori Nichol, mano is not the genius Lori Nichol."
4. Lastly, there is no kiss. I know, I know, what's the use right? Might as well dump the story in the garbage. After bugging littlepebbles for one in her Mulan story, mine is totally devoid of one. Call it penance for breaking the BFFF commandments one to many times. ;) ;) ;)
Okay, all the disclaimers I remember. Warning, it's a bit longwinded and COMPLETELY fictional. BTW, I did the math (a subject I totally stink at), and the chances of the stuff happening in the story actually happening is about one gazillion trillion billion to one. Meaning, mucho impossible!!! (Like all our other stories, but hey, live a little) :) :) :)

Michelle was feeling a bit melancholy. Champions on Ice had just wrapped up and she was supposed to take a few weeks off to relax, and maybe go on vacation with her sister Karen somewhere. At the moment, that trip is still on the early planning stages because she and Karen couldn’t decide where they wanted to go. So in the meantime she might as well brush up on her skating skills. So off she went to El Segundo to practice for her July 4th performance at Lake Arrowhead. Although it was still about a month away, she didn’t want to slack off. It wasn’t in her nature (thank God). Now that her session is over she’s not really sure where to go. Well, if you’re a woman, best place to cure the doldrums is to go shopping. So she did.
She decided to go to a mall that was out of the way. Anonymity was her goal for the day. She parked her SUV, grabbed her black baseball cap and was about to walk in the mall. She remembered that there was an indoor skating rink and figured, why not? She had not skated in public for quite some time now and wondered if she can squeeze in a few minutes of skating without being recognized. After debating the pros and cons, she ended up flipping a coin instead. Heads she skates, Tails just max the credit card…okay not really, but those were the choices that popped in her head. It was heads and Michelle immediately grabbed her skates and headed towards the entrance of the mall. She noticed that there weren’t that many people milling about and that was fine with her. She went straight for the skating rink. It was located near the food court at the ground floor and people could watch the skaters from the railing or while they were enjoying a nice meal. Michelle looked around again and noticed that there weren’t really a lot of people eating either. That was a good sign. She can most likely skate in circles in peace.
“Just no triple lutzes Michelle,” she said to herself. She paid the admission fee then went to change into her skates. It was a good thing that she was still wearing her black leotard and only had her grey hooded zip front sweater over it. She stood up and looked down at herself, then her behind and sighed. “Well if my skating won’t clue them in, my bubble butt will.” She couldn’t do anything about that now but was thankful she at least had her baseball cap. She stepped out on the ice and joined the other skaters. Some of the skaters were just recreational ones, just out there for the fun, having occasional falls here and there and laughing their heads off. Others were more proficient, showing off a few moves, maybe a double jump, or even a nicely centered spin. She smiled. She decided to just skate a few laps around the rink and maybe do a waltz jump or two. She smiled again. She was enjoying this.
The music was interesting too. Ricky Martin here, Britney Spears there (GAG!!! Apologies, that was mano throwing up), and some rock music all of which she didn’t really care for. But at least she got to play around with the music, to see if she can branch out with it. She ended up cracking up in laughter instead. That caught someone’s attention. Michelle didn’t notice that she was suddenly being watched closely from afar. She was having too much fun. Then from time to time they would play a song by Tracy Chapman, Tori Amos, or even the Dave Matthews Band and she would sing along with it while zipping between other skaters or helping a little kid out on their first skate. Some of the skaters already knew who she was but were respectful of her privacy and gave her space. She was having fun though and at one point didn’t know she had lost her baseball cap along the way. Then a song came on that caught Michelle unawares and brought back her melancholy state. She’s heard of it before, and knew it was about unrequited love sung by Bonnie Raitt with the depressing title of <a href=http://www.streambox.com/exec/makeram.asp?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fmusic%2Eacmecity%2Eco m%2Fkidtunes%2F54%2Floveme%2Erm&Rating=0>I Can't Make You Love Me</a>. She sighed again.
Then as if in a trance, Michelle suddenly started skating to the music as if it were an exhibition program of old. Moving to every note and being moved by every word. She was in another world again, her world. She started at one side of the rink slowly before her moves started to encompass the whole rink. The other skaters knew she was in that zone and gave her that space. They wanted to watch a legend-to-be in action. They’ve never been this close to one. Pretty soon they all filed out and watched from the railing or sat on the benches just enjoying this glimpse of greatness. They watched the three time World Champion in her element. She started off with circular footwork before opening with a triple salchow. She didn’t notice the applause. Still she skated very much unaware that she had attracted a lot of onlookers.

heard the words “just hold me close” she gently crossed her arms over her chest as if pretending she was being held by that special someone. It was only a crush and she thought it would go away, but it didn’t. She had watched him skate for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for the longest time and was in awe of his speed, his power and how he was able to carry his team. It didn’t hurt that he was something to look at too. She didn’t mean to fall for him, except that he had to be too nice and humble to boot. Traits that she’s always found attractive and that did her in. She tried not to think about him too much, and tried to forget him since she figured they don’t really travel or “skate” in the same circles. She thought maybe in the ‘98 Olympics, they’ll meet, but he didn’t get to go because he had a concussion. So throughout the summer, she tried to forget about him…yet found herself looking for any scrap of info that told her he’ll be okay. It wasn’t until Shep told her she had been invited by Disney and the Mighty Ducks organization to skate an exhibition for the Fanfair on Sunday January 17, 1999 that she would a chance to meet him. She agreed but tried to keep her excitement to a minimum. Didn’t work, Shep just smiled, patted her head, and whistled as he walked away before she could shout out, “don’t you dare say anything to anybody!!!”
It was a lovely time too. She was just so happy that she skated well and her performance to her ’99 SP, Fate of Carmen, wasn’t marred by any falls. She finally got to meet him and even joke around with him on the ice. She was proud she didn’t make a fool of herself in front of him…or at least she thought she didn’t. She wasn’t so sure it was over a year ago. She had attended a couple of Ducks games after including a playoff game at Detroit against the Red Wings with Elvis since it was one of the COI tour stops. The Ducks had to leave right away for Anaheim after the game (in which they lost) so she didn’t really get to see him. Through that time though, she was thinking that she was probably not his type, that maybe she was too young in his eyes. She couldn’t help but realize that he almost treated her like his little sister. She winced visibly. He probably knew she had a crush on him that’s why he made sure to keep his distance. She couldn’t help it if she wore her heart on her sleeve. She could never hide her emotions even if she tried. She did back to back split falling leafs at the start of the chorus.
<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Cause I can't make you love me if you don't

She went into an Ina Bauer, and almost felt like crying, but held it in. She did a double axle instead and landed it beautifully. She didn’t hear the applause that followed. She was still lost in her world. She did her best to try to forget him during the summer and even started summer courses at UCLA to meet new people. She wanted friends outside of skating, any skating, including hockey. She got her wish. As if in a gesture of goodbye to foolish dreams, she attended a pre-season game of the Ducks against the Kings at the Forum. It was to be the last game played there before it was closed for good to make way for the new Staples center. Paul Kariya didn’t play. He was recovering from a hip injury he developed over the summer for over-training after just recovering from a broken right foot that he received while blocking a shot during the third playoff game against the Red Wings at Anaheim. It was fitting then that the last game she attended, the one she had a crush on for so long wasn’t even on the ice. She saw him afterward, but she just said a quick hello, how’s your foot/hip, then a quick goodbye. She doesn't even remember if she allowed him to talk, she ran out of there so fast. Then she put all her attention on her school, and skating and that’s it. She didn’t even follow hockey at all. She ended the chorus with a layback spin, arms outstretched as if to signify letting go of the past. She was tempted to fold her arms in, but she resisted. “Just let it all go, Michelle,” she thought before exiting to her next move.

and saw Paul’s face knowing that his eyes will never reflect a love that he didn’t feel. He never ever held her beyond a handshake, yet the words of the song still hurt. She’s heard rumors that he’s found someone special, that he had a girlfriend that helped him get his A-game back in January. She wished she was the one who inspired him like that. She wished he were there to give her a hug after losing the Grand Prix title to Irina Slutskaya. She wished he were there to comfort her when she read all those articles that told her she was washed up. She wished he were there when the hurting started and didn’t end until she stood on the podium at Nice receiving her gold medal at the World Championships at Nice and watching the flag of the USA ascend while the Star Spangled Banner was heard throughout the arena. She wished he was there to wipe away the tears that fell during the ceremony or the 5000 more times she cried after. She wished he was there to…she wished he was just there…with her. She was getting maudlin.
She wiped away an errant tear as she heard “Morning will come and I’ll do what’s right.” She knew she did right. She knew that trying to forget about him was the best thing she did at the beginning of the skating season. She did footwork into a short entry triple lutz and landed it without any problems. Then she went into her signature spiral as Bonnie Raitt’s voice sang clearly “Cause I can’t make you love me…” and held it almost to a figure eight before going into a triple toe right from footwork and landed it beautifully at the end of “and I’ll feel the power”.

Michelle went into a Charlotte as the singer held the note on “if you don’t” and then accompanied the solo piano ending with edgework and sweeping moves, turning and flowing in different directions as if she was painting a work of art on the ice. She ended with a camel/reverse camel spin sequence. To the crowd that gathered, she was the work of art on the ice and they gave her a rousing ovation as she halted when the music faded away. She looked around in a confused state before collecting herself to smile at the crowd that gathered. So much for staying anonymous, she thought. She skated to the area where the other skaters were gathered behind the railing and apologized to them. They said they didn’t mind and the pleasure was all theirs. She got off the ice and put on her skate guards. Pretty soon people hoping to get her autograph surrounded her. She didn’t mind signing them, it helped her forget about all the memories that came slamming back to her when she heard that song. “Unrequited love? I don’t even love him,” Michelle thought to herself as another paper was shoved in front of her face. She signed it without complaint.
However, pretty soon the crowd was slowly closing in on her and she was getting a bit claustrophobic. She continued to sign, not wanting to disappoint anyone, when a wave of dizziness came over her and she almost fainted. She felt a comforting hand on her back and heard a loud firm voice say, “Everyone, please give her some room. She’s signed enough autographs for today.” It was a familiar voice, but she couldn’t place where she heard it before. She wasn’t feeling good at all. The crowd protested a little but gave her space. Somebody shouted out, “what are you her bodyguard or something?”
“You could say that.” He responded.
“Must be her brother.” For some reason, the stranger took offense to that and said so in a clear resounding voice, “NO!!!” He then started to lead Michelle away from the crowd to a place where she can rest up.
All of a sudden a guy who had an eye on the “skater with the great bod” jumped in front of Michelle and said, “Hi baby, do you have a name or can I call you mine?” Michelle looked up in bewilderment. Paul Kariya had enough. He shoved the guy out of the way. When the guy started to complain, he gave him a look that could kill. The guy fainted. Michelle finally turned to face her “savior” but became speechless instead when she realized who it was. It was as if she had conjured him up as she thought of him during her skate. He was clad in a black crew neck ribbed t-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. She almost touched his chest, just to make sure he was real. She stopped herself in time.

Paul asked.
“Um, nothing, I’m fine really.” Michelle softly answered.
“Are you sure? Can you walk the rest of the way or shall I carry you?” Paul asked seriously although he looked like he was trying to stop from smiling.
“Sure, I mean…yes I can walk.” Michelle said as a blush crept up her face. She turned around and started walking towards the lockers where her stuff was. Paul waited patiently as she removed her skates and put her sneakers on. Before she stood up a little girl came by and shyly said, “excuse me, Michelle, is this yours?” And handed the baseball cap to her. Michelle said thank you and watches the little girl hesitate, as if she was going to say something more, but turned to leave instead. Michelle knew what the little girl wanted and called her back but she had run out and didn’t hear her. Michelle looked at Paul and didn’t have to say a word. He smiled, and followed the little girl out. A few minutes later, Paul came back with the little girl behind him. He handed Michelle a gold colored marker that she used to sign the black baseball cap and promptly gave it to the little girl who squealed upon receiving her gift. Michelle gave her a hug and the little girl ran back to her parents who were waiting nearby. “How much do I owe you for the marker?” Michelle asked Paul. “Nothing, it’s on me. And don’t look at me as if I can’t afford it when you know that I don’t exactly play for pennies for Disney.” Michelle smiled.
Both of them walked out of the lockers in silence. Paul wanted to make sure that nobody was going to bother Michelle for the rest of the day and said, “maybe I should have gotten you another cap, a Mighty Ducks one so that you wont be too recognizable.” Michelle just nodded. He continued, “and maybe an extra large Mighty Ducks jersey long enough to cover all the way down to your knees.”
“You wouldn’t?” Michelle asked quickly.
“Preferably with my name and number on it?” Paul said.
“Are you serious?”
“So I can call you mine?”
“PAUL!!!”
“I’m kidding, but I just can’t help remembering the guy who tried to pick you up while I was escorting you out. You know how insulting that is? I am not exactly chop liver.” Paul explained although he wished he could cover her beautiful body with a sack if he had one. He didn’t like the stares she was getting from the guys, especially the ones that strayed to what she calls her “bubble butt.” He liked bubble butts, then he tried to banish away the other inappropriate thoughts in his head and said, “besides, that was a horrible pick-up line.”
Michelle laughed and Paul welcomed it. He was worried about her ever since she almost fainted earlier. She wasn’t the fainting type, that he knew in the little time that’s he’s been acquainted with her. He felt a bit guilty for not keeping in touch. He had a feeling last year that she had a crush on him, and he was a little attracted to her at that time also. They had been joking around on the ice at the Fanfare but he ended up hitting on her too. It was a little flirtation, nothing more, nothing less. He didn’t want to get her involved in anything. He thought he was too old for her, Teemu had said otherwise. He also reasoned that they don’t exactly skate in the same circles. Teemu just shook his head and said, “your loss.” But he was thinking about her welfare more than anything and knew that having a boyfriend would just be a distraction, especially since she was planning to juggle school and skating at the same time. He waited…and watched, as she grew more beautiful with each passing day, with each competition that was aired on TV. But it was her inner strength that drew him the most. He knew about her struggles to maintain her skating at an elite level, while being questioned left and right of her commitment to her sport. He saw how she weathered the loss in January with grace and dignity that she possesses in abundance. He felt her pain as he read disparaging articles, calling her over the hill at 19 even after winning Nationals, all the while calling for the coronation of the up and comers 4-5 years her junior. The media had given up on her, she didn’t…he didn’t.
He had wanted to give her time off after her tour before starting over with her again, but this changed everything. He had only come to the mall at the behest of his teammates, Matt Cullen and Pascal Trepanier, who had wanted to buy more electronic gadgets. He told them that he wanted to grab some coffee and they could go ahead and he’ll meet them later. He had sat near the skating rink and was enjoying the people making believe they were Michelle Kwan. Then he heard a familiar laugh and he noticed her. He wasn’t sure at first because of the baseball cap covering her head but he couldn’t mistake that oval face, those almond eyes AND that body of hers. And of-course her skating. She practically floated over the ice, her skates hardly making a sound as she passed by. It was Michelle. He smiled to himself and couldn’t believe his luck. She was having fun at first, just playing around, zipping past the other skaters, and even helping a little kid learn how to skate at one point. Then when that ballad came on, he noticed a change in her. Almost as if the joy left her face as she started skating to the music and feeling every word that the singer said. It was a sad song, a break-up song, a song about unrequited love. He felt a little jealous. Who would have caused Michelle to feel something so deep and painful that everyone felt moved by it in return? The ladies sitting on the next table were practically in tears. He wanted to get his hands on whoever treated her so.

Paul asked suddenly as they were walking.
“What guy?” Michelle asked, confused.
“The one who broke your heart. The song you skated to…”
“I Can’t Make You Love Me?” Michelle supplied the answer.
“Of-course not, you don’t have to do anything. I mean that title of your new exhibition.” Paul said.
Michelle laughed, “that IS the title, it’s sung by Bonnie Raitt, a blues singer and slide guitar player. Her music is not really my style, but that particular song moves me. And that’s not my new exhibition, I think I made all the moves up as I went along.”
“Oh, well then, who was your inspiration. It’s either you’re a very good actress or you really love somebody that deeply and that idiot didn’t return your affections. You even cried!”
“I know, I was like a wuss out there.” Michelle said.
“You’re stalling, Michelle. Tell me his name and I promise he won’t ever bother you again.” Paul asked seriously.
“But I like being bothered by him…In fact I feel he hasn’t bothered me enough in the last year and that’s what caused me to be weepy out on the ice today.” Michelle responded, looking for a way around this topic.
“You still want him even if he doesn’t want you? Tell me who he is so I can set him straight.” Paul asked again, impatience and a bit of anger tingeing his voice.
Michelle couldn’t believe it. THE Paul Kariya, the man she has had a crush on for longer than she can remember, is jealous…of himself, no less. She laughed out loud. “It’s not funny Michelle.” Paul said. Michelle laughed even harder and that almost made Paul smile…almost. Michelle looked up then tried to be serious, she really did, but she couldn’t stifle the laughter. Paul rolled his eyes and waited as Michelle finally stopped laughing. She took a deep breath, looked at Paul seriously and said. “Alright, it’s YOU okay. You’re the reason I was emotionally a mess out there today when that song came on. So now you know. Have fun beating yourself up.” Michelle was about to leave when Paul stopped her in her tracks.
They had stopped in the middle of a busy walkway and the shoppers were getting a bit restless ‘cause they were in the way. Paul took Michelle’s hand and walked in a store, not really caring what store it was nor bothering to look at the merchandise. They stopped about mid-way into the store before Paul spotted a decorative couch and both of them sat down. Paul tried to collect his thoughts. He knew she had a crush on him, but thought she would have gotten over it by now. It was over a year ago. He felt a little jealous when he thought that she might have met someone at UCLA who really affected more than he ever did. She had skated that song as if she knew the pain from first-hand experience. She did, and apparently he was the root cause. Now he was speechless.
While Paul was trying to figure out what to say, Michelle started noticing their surroundings. The sweet smell of the potpourri was unmistakable, the striped pink wallpaper adorning the walls…and the LINGERIE that was in display all over the place. She started tugging at Paul’s arm to get his attention, but he was too caught up in his reverie. She sighed. It wasn’t until a saleslady came up to where they were sitting and asked them, “are you looking for something to wear for your honeymoon? Or is this something for tonight?” Michelle could not say a word. Paul suddenly spoke up and said smoothly, “we’re just looking for now. It’s a present for her friend who’s wedding shower is next Saturday and she can’t decide whether to get her a blue teddy or a red one so I’m helping her figure that out while sitting here.” The saleslady smiled, satisfied with their response and said, “well if you need anything, I’ll be by the dressing room. She can even try something on to help you both decide.” Paul’s smile got wider and was about to say something when he heard Michelle cut in, “that won’t be necessary, but thanks.” The saleslady left them both in silence. Michelle wanted to sink into the floor, but decided to hide her embarrassment behind one of the throw pillows on the couch instead. “You’re going to suffocate.” Paul said. He heard a muffled response that sounded like “I don’t care.”
“Well I do.” Paul said, a note of seriousness entering his voice.
“Since when? Don’t you have a girl friend to worry about now?” Michelle asked, putting down the pillow long enough to ask. She was about to hide again when Paul took their pillow from her hands and tossed it behind them not really caring that it hit another customer behind them.

yet, dated moderately but that’s it. And yes I’ve cared for a while now. You’ve always been like a…”
“Little sister to you, I know. I promise to behave next time, big brother.” Michelle said, deflated even though it warmed her that he wasn’t taken yet.
“NO, never. Don’t ever say that. I didn’t like it when one of your fans asked earlier and I especially don’t like hearing it coming from you. Believe me, and no offense to your brother, but that’s the last thing I want to be considered when I am with you.” Paul said, quite offended.
“But you never gave any indication otherwise last year. Every time we saw each other, it was the same thing. Hi Michelle, how’s your skating, that’s good, here’s a lollipop, now run along and leave big brother alone.” Michelle said pouting. Paul burst out laughing at the picture she just made.
“I object. I never gave you a lollipop. I remember giving you gum, but that’s about it.” His teasing earned a sharp punch on his muscled arm.
“My mistake then, I should have treated you like a defenseman about to check me on the boards.” Paul said laughingly. That earned him another punch on the arm. “I’m sorry, I’m in that kind of mood.” Paul said apologetically, and added, “how would you like me to treat you then?” Michelle smiled then took a deep breath and said to him seriously, “Just treat me like…”
Paul was all ears, even leaning closer to hear her.
“Like…you would a friend.” Michelle said.
Paul almost fell off the couch. “A FRIEND?” Paul said incredulously. “That’s the worst thing a guy wants to hear from a woman he’s fallen hard for.” He didn’t notice that Michelle had caught her breath at what he just said. He was too worked up to realize that a dazzling smile now graced her face. He stood up and started pacing back and forth. Michelle started calling his name to get him to calm down, but he seemed to be busy analyzing what went wrong. “I was a perfect gentleman, I just wanted her to be ready. I felt she was too young. She might find that special someone at school. She probably did and now she just wants me to be a friend. Teemu was right, I should have asked her out when I had the chance last year…”
Still not responding to her call, Michelle decided a different tactic. She stood up from the couch, stopped right in front of the pacing Paul Kariya, took a deep breath, then tiptoed to give him a soft kiss on his cheek, before immediately turning around looking for a place to hide. But Paul was faster. He grabbed her arm and spun her back to him. “What was that for?” He asked softly. Michelle was too caught up in his gaze to answer anything right away. He tilted his head as if to ask again when Michelle blurted out, “uh, for a great hockey season.”
“We didn’t make the playoffs.” Paul said, letting her go gently to give her some breathing room. Michelle took a step back and put both arms behind her as she thought of what to say. “I know, but you played well in the last three weeks of the season…I think.” Michelle said, knowing full well she hardly paid attention to the last few weeks of Hockey, much less the Ducks. She was too busy prepping for Worlds then rushing off to a tour. Paul just lifted his eyebrow knowing full well, Hockey wasn’t even in her radar during that time. Michelle tried another excuse, “well it’s for breaking your foot and sacrificing your health for the team.” Paul was having a hard time keeping his laughter in, but was able to long enough to say, “if that’s the case, maybe I should break my foot more often.” He burst out laughing when he saw the appalled look on her face and said, “I’m kidding. Don’t worry Michelle, I plan to stay healthy as I can next season and beyond.” Michelle sighed in relief, wishing again that the floor would open and swallow her up. Maybe if she stared at the floor long enough it will open up. As if knowing exactly what she was thinking, Paul quipped, “Try saying ‘Open Sesame.’” That only gained him another punch in the arm. He continued, “definitely a defenseman.” Paul caught Michelle’s arm this time…and brought her closer to him. Michelle got very nervous as he bent his head close to hers and asked softly, “so, you still haven’t told me what that kiss was for?”
“Paul?” A familiar voice asked. Michelle and Paul separated. A frustrated Paul gave the newcomer an I’ll-get-you-later look before asking, “what are you doing here?” Michelle, on the other hand, wasn’t sure whether to be relieved or disappointed at the same time. She just smiled at Paul’s teammates. “Actually Paul, I should be asking you the same question.” Matt said, big smile on his face as he looked around the surrounding lingerie. “So this is how you meet girls,” Pascal said. That got him a punch in the arm from Michelle, “I mean women.” Pascal quickly said rubbing his arm before adding, “you know she would have made a great…ooomph,” Michelle didn’t wait for him to finish before punching his arm again. “Sorry.” Pascal said sheepishly.

to get rid of his teammates but remembered his manners, “Michelle, you remember Matt and Pascal of-course?” She nodded her head, they said their hellos and “how come you didn’t watch our games last season” and she answered her usual, “too busy, school, skating.” By that time, the two players just about settled themselves on the couch previously vacated by Paul and Michelle and were all ears to hear how both Paul and Michelle suddenly got together at Victoria’s Secret, no less. Paul just quickly dismissed his teammates despite their protest. They didn’t leave without a last ditch effort to annoy their captain though so while walking away, Matt said to Pascal in a loud voice, “hey isn’t this the Teddy Paul said reminded him of Michelle’s Red Violin costume…ooomph.” Matt got struck in the head with a throw pillow and both he and Pascal ran out of the store laughing. “I apologize for that.” Paul said noticing Michelle’s deep blush. It was very becoming and Paul just stared at her instead. “Uh, Paul, I think we should be going before the saleslady decides to throw us out.” Michelle said. He nodded his head and both walked out of the store. They walked in silence for a while before Michelle spoke up again and said, “the kiss, I just did that ‘cause I couldn’t figure out a way to get your attention. You didn’t respond when I called your name a couple of times.” Paul smiled and said, “I figured that, I was just teasing you earlier.” They walked in silence again, just thinking about what happened today. Then Michelle suddenly giggled.
“What?” Paul asked.
“I’m just remembering that guy’s corny pick-up line. ‘Do you have a name or can I call you mine?” She started laughing again. Paul joined in the laughter. Then he added, “I know a couple of stupid pick-up lines myself, and no I’ve never used them, just read it from somewhere.”
“You need pick-up lines? I thought women just fall at your feet.” Michelle joked.
“The clumsy ones, yes. I’ve been hoping you were clumsy, but alas, you are too graceful for that ever to happen.” Paul lamented. Michelle laughed.
“Do you have a raisin?” Paul asked all of a sudden.
“A raisin? I don’t think so.” Michelle answered confused.
“How about a date?” Paul asked again.
“A date, I don’t have a date either. If you’re hungry, there’s a…why are you laughing now?” Asked a totally confused Michelle.
“Well, I was right, that pick-up line didn’t work either.” Paul said.
“Oh…OH. I get it, I’m sorry. But that was corny.” Michelle said laughing.
“So how about it then?” Paul asked seriously.
“How about what? Michelle asked.
“A date…with me?
Michelle was too stunned to answer right away, but managed, “you’re really asking me out? On a date?” Seeing his nod, she continued, “I don’t know what to say?”
“A yes will suffice.” Paul answered.
Michelle smiled and nodded before saying, “yes, and you tricked me. That pick-up line works after all.” Paul smiled in return and said, “good, don’t worry, from now on that line will be forever retired never to be used again.”
“Why not, it’s funny.” Michelle questioned.
“’Cause I already have you.”
Michelle was so touched that she was speechless. They walked again in companionable silence. Then, they decided to walk towards the ice rink just to watch the skaters for a few minutes and exchange small talk. Michelle wondered at one point why autograph seekers didn’t approach Paul earlier since he was very much a Hockey star. He explained that they were in LA Kings territory so he’s not really known in this part of town unless he was wearing his helmet and Ducks jersey. At which point he’ll probably get booed instead. Then they heard a familiar song being played again.
Paul asked, “so are you planning to skate to that song, <a href=http://www.streambox.com/exec/makeram.asp?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fmusic%2Eacmecity%2Eco m%2Fkidtunes%2F54%2Floveme%2Erm&Rating=0>I Can't Make You Love Me</a>, next season? I think it would make a beautiful program.”
“No." Michelle said without hesitation.
“Why not?” Paul asked, surprised.
“’Cause I don’t have a reason to skate to it anymore.” Michelle said quietly.
Paul understood and took her hand in his. They walked away hand-in-hand as the music faded away.

Great story. You had me in tears too. Your choreography was pretty good. Maybe Michelle will get the inspiration from you when she reads this. :) BTW, there's no ice rink in any LA malls I know of. The only mall with an ice rink in S. Cal. is in San Diego. Where is #9 since hockey season ended? I assume 6.0 is back home in S. Cal. Get to go back to work on my fiction. Talk to you later.

That's why I did the math. I know of only the San Diego one too 'cause I was there (used to be called UTC, don't know if the name still applies since last I went to that mall was '86) and based the surroundings on it. Glad you liked it...so...where's my pay??? ;) ;) ;)

This is the BEST YET, MANO!! I was choking reading this part:
"She wished he was there to give her a hug after losing the Grand Prix title to Irina Slutskaya. She wished he was there to comfort her when she read all those articles that told her she was washed up. She wished he was there when the hurting started and didn’t end until she stood on the podium at Nice receiving her gold medal at the World Championships at Nice and watching the flag of the USA ascend while the Star Spangled Banner was heard throughout the arena. She wished he was there to wipe away the tears that fell during the ceremony or the 5000 more times she cried after. She wished he was there to…she wished he was just there…with her...."
As reward to Mano, how about a backstage COI pic

Apologies to Michael Bernadsky. Spliced pic will be removed in 2 days

I am in tears and I am laughing at the same time. I am just thinking how MK will feel when she is reading the fan fiction. I think she has to be impressed how we know about all the little details about her. The GP final, which hockey game she had attended for example.
YS, Mano deserves her $.
BTW, Mano, one small protest, not "legend to be", she is already ," legend"
and thanks for set straight that "slacking off" thing.
Just a question completely off topic what does PML mean?
Michelle if you are reading, Please consider skating to that song.

I figured I owed that much. I wrote the bulk of it last Sunday and was planning to post it then, but I couldn't figure an ending and I caught Littlepebbles's "a sentence an hour" disease too. So it wasn't until yesterday that I finished it and posted it. Good thing too 'cause we do have competition from the Troll topics.
Well, only PK sighting today was seeing him cameo on Mighty Ducks movie "D3". Short and sweet but no need to write a speech to thank the academy for it. Hey did you know the players numbers were #9, #96, #6, #16, #99...things that make you go hmmmnnn...Other than that, it's drought season on both #9 and #6.
Chemy, LOL on the pic!!! I love it and thanks!!! BTW, that's a good height differential between MK and PK, if you erase the 5'6 (or is it 5'7) TG. I like that both are wearing black. BTW, Michael Bernardsky is the guy who spliced my "Body by Michelle, Insane Head by mano" pic. He goes by Mishanya at FSW and FSU. Cool guy and excellent photographer and says he knows a couple of hockey players including PK. I told him, yeah right. He knows a lot of the figure skaters too and the story behind that pic is that Michelle wasn't in the picture taking mood and was sitting with her mom. Michael was trying to get the skaters together for a group pic and Tim basically dragged Michelle into the picture and made sure she stayed put. End of story. Neat huh. Yeah, emailed Mishanya a thousand thank yous.

Ah...that's the story behind the picture. Whew...now all BFFFers can let out a sigh of relief. Thanks for telling us, mano. Did you ask the photographer some personal info on #9 or 6.0? Any confimation on a girlfriend or such?

I knew I forgot to ask something. Sigh, wonder if he'd kill me to ask that question. I think I was just too elated after I found out that news about the picture.
Just have to add that I wouldn't have asked anyway 'cause it's a bit too personal, I'd rather MK and PK do that talking on that no matter how bubble bursting it is for us. I think he only told me about the picture 'cause I said that MK looks good with a certain hockey player instead and and the pic sort of distracted me from checking out his other excellent pictures.
Also have to add that the 2 "pick-up lines" from the story I picked up from the "Intellispace.com" adds that are pasted all over the subways in NYC. I've actually heard a guy use the "do you have a name" one before seeing it in the ads but the "raisin" one was new to me. Other pick-up lines were "your lips are wrinkled, may I press them?" and one other I'm drawing a blank on. I bet there's a whole book on pick-up lines somewhere.

Welcome to MKF and MKFF, this is your first post in BFFF, :)
Just curious, how long have you been lurking.
It is so interesting to see that the BFFF threads have the most # of viewers, I never
expected that.
Mano, thanks so much for asking Mishaya about the background of the picture,
now I feel much better. Did he splice the picture of your head on MK's bod for you?
BTW, I am a bit confused, that you said you forgot to ask him a question,
what question , whether he knows #9, or whether he knows #9 has a gf already or whether
#9 is aware of 6.0 , ???????
I think BFFF is probably one of the highly traffic lurked place in the internet, I won't be surprsie if
#9 may eventually someday drop by and read your stories. Of course he needs to buy a computer
first.
Magenta, and Eilaram, how is the tape project?

Didn't ask him if #9 or #6 were taken. Leave that for MK and PK to say. We're just fan fictioners so in BFFF land it's all good even if the real world isn't so hunky dory.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Hello everyone, I'm a new member. My name's Dria. I've been reading posts to catch up and have discovered Paul's whereabouts are pretty interesting around here, so I thought I'd throw my two cents in. Paul's back in California. I saw him roller blading just two days ago in Tustin Ranch. And, for anyone interested, he wasn't with a girl, but with some guy. I think it looked like his brother, Steve.
Just FYI... :)
Sorry. I guess that was a little vague. :) It was on some residential street in Tustin Ranch (I'm not sure which one since I was actually lost and trying to find my way back to Tustin Ranch Blvd.) but it was somewhere around where Jamboree and Tustin Ranch Blvd. meet. And it was in the middle of the day, almost one o'clock. Hope this helps! :) <!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> They both are in CA! I saw them with my own 2 eyes!! Friday night around 7ish, they were headed to I think their favorite Japanese joint with an unidentifiable woman (shoulder length brown hair). Steve was in the back seat, he looked like a little kid because he was moving around back there. Paul was actually really animated, he was talking and laughing while he was driving. Now his driving is another story, I seriously think he needs driving lessons!! I'm thinking he took his drivers training back east! (Sorry eastsiders, but true, you guys drive like maniacs!) He was on Newport Ave. and changing lanes like there was no tomorrow! I just stayed a good couple of feet away except at the stop light! I'm afraid the next guy we hear about having a car accident, will be Paul:(
Well it was just cool seeing him, hope he shows up at the NHL Awards on the 15th. I also want to know who that girl was!<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

Things that make you go hmmnnn...how do these people do it. Like actually see Paul Kariya on the street and know without a shadow of doubt it's him? I bet I can't recognize MK or PK if I ever see them up close. H*ck they could be gettin' married in front of me and I'd still won't have a clue. I have blinders on when I walk the streets of NYC or anywhere else for that matter. The less you have eye contact with anybody, the safer you are, I say.

A girl in brown hair, well I can easily picture Pk with a girl in brown hair, that blonde ANU stuff is so
not like him. Of course I know nothing about him, really, I am still not a Pk fan yet.
Mano, I am sure if you run across Pk on a street, you will recognize him. I think fans have radar about
their most fav athletes. I think I can detect MK from far away.
BFFF is such a nice place to chill out. I am a bit tired of seeing our angels name always tie together with that other skater, sigh...., can people just move on?
Mano, I think the Os are playing the mets, I am sure your team will win and you have bragging rights for the next week. I am looking forward to U.S. Open, Go Tiger, and congrats to Kobe and the Lakers of making the finals. Kobe is such a good kid, I hope he meets Michelle someday, ( as friends of course, otherwise
yingshan will fry me) if they have not already met.

The Mets have their moments but I still put them under my "stink column". As for the "shoulder length, brown haired girl" no clue either...but then again, Michelle does have shoulder length hair now and she could have added highlights that one can easily mistake for brown under the sun AND she loves sushi...but then again I could be doing my usual grasping for straws.
Believe me, I'm that bad with people. I think I wouldn't have known it was Patrick Ewing I gave a salute to if he wasn't 7' tall. My poor Knicks...I think they should just give 'em the ring for beating Pat Riley's Heat. THAT was the finals, IMO. The Pacers were like a letdown 'cause they gave their all to beat the Heat. Always next year.
You know, I still haven't sent Michelle a thank you card for the COI program, 'cause I've been procrastinating on that. I got a card, but don't know if I should add a long letter or just write on the card or what. I don't think I've ever written to an athlete or celebrity before so I'm clueless when it comes to those things. I'm still thinking she got the wrong fan 'cause I still can't believe she gave me that program. I don't think it's settled in yet.

i wonder who that mysterious girl is...and favorite Japanese restaurant? where's that? cuz i went to a Japanese restaurant once and saw PK's pic on the wall with the store owner saying he was here...and seen on the streets of tustin ranch? that'd be neat if i could see him while i'm driving, but unfortunately i do not have my license...*sigh*...onlee a permit...but that should all change during the summer....maybe i can go PK spying and find out who this brown haired girl is....

Being the realistic person, my guess is his elder sister. Isn't his elder sister his personal assistant? I've been around Tustin Ranch quite a few times, but how come I never ran into him? But I never drove into the residential areas. I usually hang around the market place. But I'm not sure whether I'll recognize him if I do run into him. I guess if he's driving a red Lexus, I have a better chance of recognizing him. There are a lot of Asian guys around Tustin.
SF, no frying is necessary. :) Kobe proposed to his 18-year-old girl friend recently. She's been sporting a seven-carat diamond ring at courtside AND her school. She's a high school senior. They met in a video shoot. She's a background dancer or something.

Mano, MK 's hair is a beautiful black color, you can't even call it dark brown.
About that gal being PK's sister, maybe, if you guys think so.
YS, you sure keep up with all the celeb's jewelry, 7 carat, sounds too huge. Of course
Kobe probably has more $ than Tiger and PK combined. Probably not, he probably has
as much $ as Tiger. Kobe is a good kid.
Mano, Dudette, BTW, King D left his throne in T*r* World and went all the way to that other world and left you a calling card. Maybe you already know.

Clue me in on the what you're talking about 'cause I haven't seen any calling cards at FSW if that's what you mean. BTW, just logged in an hour ago and wasn't even online after getting home from work yesterday so I have no idea what you mean. Also, didn't I tell you the Mets stink or what.

BTW, a calling card, is just a calling card, does not mean I am encouraging you to
return the call.
Mets and Os it is just one game, I am drastically cutting down like from 6 games/season to
3 this season of watching the Os, run out of paper bags to cover my head.
Chemy, how come 6.0's food is so much smaller, are they sharing the chicken/duck?
Can you do me a favor and post the pictures of the 2 of them when they were real young, the

me too. Hey, I think ESP, telepathy, crystal balls, tea leaves and the like are still good to go at FSW so we're still alright. But these days, making like a Duck and waddling away is all good.
BTW, the NHL Awards is on June 15 at Toronto's Air Canada Center. I doubt Michelle is going to be there unless she wants to kill two birds with one stone by:
1. Working on next seasons programs with Lori Nichol (she lives in Toronto right?).
2. Dressing to kill or dressing to the 9's to show a certain Duck what he's missin'.
Okay, I better take it easy on the posting, I think I'm over my BFFF posting quota.

Now I know what my novel "The Rebirth of a Butterfly" is missing. A cover! Can you do one for me? I'm thinking of a female skater doing a layback in the foreground. A pair of Asian woman's eyes blending with a butterfly in the background. You can use MK's layback as long as people can't recognize that's her. The skater will be *Audrey*. The pair of eyes in the background will be *Lili*, Audrey's natural mother. The eyes and the butterfly at the background probably should be shadowy while the skater at the foreground should be in vibrant color. Can you do it? I was thinking of drawing it myself. But unfortunately, I'm really short on time.
So June 15 is another possible BBT? Oh, boy.

IS SEVENTEEN/CG AWARDS NIGHT SAME AS NHL'S? IF SO, WILL CITY-HOPPING (TORONTO-WASHDC-TOR-WASHDC-TOR, ETC.) VIA CONCORDE APPEASE PK'S BELOVED? WILL MK EVER SPEAK TO HIM AGAIN IF SO MUCH AS ONE CAMERA SHOT SHOWS AN EMPTY SEAT NEXT TO HER? CAN PK FLY IN TIME FROM TORONTO TO MAKE SURE THAT SEAT IS NEVER EMPTY AND STILL COMMIT TO BE NHL'S PRESENTER? WILL WE SEE PK WITH A BLACK EYE OR A COVER GIRL LIPSTICK MARK? :)
YINGSHAN...ahem Yingshan. I'll do my best. I'm sure someone will be eager to share his/her talent to help. Anybody? I'm thinking of Chinese calligraphy-style for images (ala Miss Saigon poster)....

Psycho MK fan crime, that is.
My signature, which contains the quote "Winners come and go, but legends are forever", and which I almost never use in FSW the rare times I post there, has been attacked by some person who, if you ask me, needs a nice big glass of prune juice. Since 99.22% of the times my signature has appeared has been in MKF, my first reaction is to think that the person lurks here at MKF. By that person's logic, my signature gives that person the right to call Michelle a loser. Never mind that I have never said who or what the quote is about and the person couldn't be bothered to actually ask me what I meant by it before that person began trashing it in the same FSW thread as King D left his calling card for Mano. I decided to respond to my calling card and hopefully I will receive a respectful response from that person. I won't hold my breath though.
Maybe I should start posting my signature every single time I post, and not just once per thread, as the rule is, just so I can p--- that person off. :evil :evil :evil I stuck my neck out, now I am waiting for that person and possibly any friends to chop at it with a dull axe.
Yingshan, you said Kobe's fiance is a background dancer? In other words, do you mean a booty girl?
Thanks Chemy, re my pics.
And to all lurkers, if you're friendly, hello, nice the see you! If you're unfriendly, up yo--Sorry, that was my evil twin bigpebbles sneaking in.

Beth don't do it, I think LP did well answering the calling card. It is always touchy at fsw, Adrian usually dos not tolerate a lot of nonsense, and sometimes when posters are drawn into others nonsense
through no fault of her own, Adrian will ban both.
About that other person LP is talking about, let it go, if s/he, it continues to post like that s/he or it
may not last too lont there.

Anywho, Hockey is finally over and NHL Awards is up next. I wish Michelle would be invited as a presenter, but I doubt it. The NHL site hasn't posted who's presenting yet, but hopefully they'll have something tomorrow or something. The Awards is this Thursday and I'll still tape it even if MK isn't there. Least PK might be there...and if not, hey at least Teemu is there since he's a finalist for the Lady Byng Award. I wonder if Kristi is going to be there?
Welcome Beth to BFFF. Hope our Kwantasies haven't scared you yet. You are a great defender, and honored you care for us MKFers a lot.
Lastly, I think I'm going to put IAC on hiatus now. I can't seem to concentrate on it especially since I'm doing too much OT at work and the stress is keeping me from thinking. I still can't believe you did it eilaram. I wonder if the tape is "short and succinct" or took a page out of blueshirt and made it "longwinded albeit enlightening"!!! Dude, I still have no guts when it comes to those things!!! Let it be known that my only involvement in this is to provide an address of the Pond that is easily accessible through the Mighty Ducks page. Where do you and Magenta get your guts. I'm still LOL that Magenta got a pic from Teemu Selanne even though it was addressed to PK.
Sigh, just reporting that ESPN nor NHL.com gave no indication as to who is presenting, which is weird 'cause last year they had given all the names of who's presenting, now nada. I'm serious, they must know about us 'cause they said, better keep it hush, hush so that those weird Beefers won't get a clue. What the hey, I'm still watching the NHL awards tomorrow - and taping it - (June 15 8:00 PM ESPN2) just to see these hockey players get cleaned up.
Oh, skatingfan, will be rooting for Tiger all the way. I'll even paint some Tiger stripes over my face while eating chicken so the whole ritual will be more potent.
Edited for too much "Dudiness" ;) ;) ;)

Eilaram, and Mano, I think when it comes to things like this I have the guts, ie. if Master Tiger does not have a gf, I would have done the same thing. BTW, Eilaram, I hope you ask him for a picture of the 1999 Duck fanfare with 6.0, #8, and #9, you know that could be an additional hint. :lol
Eilaram please let us know whether you hear from you know who or not.;)
Well, less than one day for 008 to conquer Pebble Beach.
BTW, I think there are quite a number of beefers who are from CA or LA area, so I assume you
are Laker fans, just want to let you know Tiger is a huge Laker fan, he was at a Laker the Laker/
trail blazer game, somehow I wish Mk was there too, it would be so neat to think of Tiger, Mk and Kobe all in the same building.

I'll definitely tell you if I receive anything...nope, I didn't ask for anything...The more I think about, I think the only reason I had the guts to do it was b/c I sent it to someone that there's a 99.99% chance that I will never meet and who lives about 2000 miles away.

Michelle and Karen are vacationing at Puerto Vallarta in Mexico. Heather got an email on it yesterday so more than likely, Michelle would rather be relaxing on the Beach with her sister rather than jetting over to Toronto for an Award Show. (Hey, I would, in fact, I'd rather be on the beach right now than at work slaving away at the computer, sigh) So, guess that answers our question regarding her appearance at the Award show, that being, she ain't going to be there. Oh, well. Guess just look forward to seeing PK in a tux...possibly with his mystery brown haired girl. BBT folks!!!

June 15th, 2000, 05:27 PM
Since MKF is so slow right now, it seems like everyone is. Interesting to see that it seems that there is some other woman in Pavel Bure's life other than the tennis player. And how far is Toronto from Puerto Vallarta?...
Continued from the other topic on Fan Chat, I think Michelle <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> is<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> a MD fan. 1. I remember a year ago during last year's COI, there was a little blurb in the Blades on Ice updates about her and Elena B. It said that they hung out together on the tour and that they shared a common interest in hockey. It also said that Michelle's favorite team, the Mighty Ducks were out of that year playoffs while Elena's favorite team, the Red Wings were still alive. There was also a nice picture of Michelle and Elena along with it. 2. Remember the game Michelle went to with Elvis where the Ducks played the Red Wings? The Detroit people interviewed her between periods and the Ducks were behind and Michelle said she believed the Ducks could come back. This is after the year before that, when the Red Wings gave Michelle a jacket.
I don't know if the Ducks are still Michelle's favorite team, but I'm guessing they were last year. :) Maybe she is a Qu-- Kings fan now, but she hasn't been seen at any of their games (without the Ducks) this year either.
BTW, Why would Disney or whoever is in charge trade their captain to the Kings, that would be kinda dumb.
skatingfan
June 15th, 2000, 05:44 PM
LP,
I am just throwing that trade thing up, b/c when it comes to pro sports, anything is possible, even Joe Montana was traded, and how many superbowls did he win. Believe me, I want Mk to be a duck fan too, maybe it is my over protectiveness about Michelle to an insane level. She is in LA King country, attending
UCLA, and had not been to any hockey games for over a year, so before she updates it, I prefer to hear it from her again, it is one thing to say it here, which BTW is fiction, and of course this is the most read/lurk area in the entire www, but to it is different to say it in MK chat, JMHO. Now , Mk hasn't been to a hockey game Ducks or no Ducks is worth pondering about, hope she is not scared away by crazy beefers.
My gut feeling is that there will not be any BBT at the award, I think those 2 will be right on track for us
beefers to write any year of wonderful stories, ie neither one will be linked with anyone for another year.
Adeendum, WOW can not believe we finished another chapter already, and the post : lurk rate is 1 :12.
BFFF must be the most interesting spot in the entire www
