Hope I did this right, roman numerals are not my srtong point. But I wanted to say something and no one has started a new one yet. Someone else who knows how can add the disclaimers.
Anyways this weekend my brother came home from college and I was reminded that whenever I have an argument with him and I bring up a point that hurts his argument he looks at me and says "Don't confuse the issue with the facts" so maybe if our bubble does get burst, we should take his advice and not let the facts keep us from doing this...after all people do break up...

Sorry about post 83 in previous Fiction. Didn't mean to put it there, so I'll post again here. eilaram I agree with what you posted, but want to add my .02
I won't post again till our captains can put in all the BFFF rules, etc.

Re: say it ain't true.........

Hi all. Bummer news about PK. I suppose it could be true but I've heard nor seen anything to back it up. Alas I am not one who go to many games or sees PK around town so I can't put any fears to rest.

What happen to the person who was going to the Ducks games at the beginning of the season and posting reports? Remember, wasn't it the person who supposedly driving next too, or following him from Tustin Marker Place? I don't recall her posting for some time now.

I'll go along with "I won't believe it till I see it".
Why does it always have to be models? :-(

I just started a new job that goes from 6am to the afternoon. When I'm not working, I'm sleeping or eating or something. Luckily, it's only for 2 weeks, then I can get some normal hours.

Here's the required elements:

For first time visitors WELCOME. This is 100% fan fiction. Fan fictioners agree to start a new chapter whenever the thread grows to 80 messages long. We also agree to never discuss this fan fiction material outside of Fan Fiction Land, i.e. we do not post any of this in rssif, FSW, or other threads in this MK forum etc. [Or the PK Forum] Fan fictioners are in the process of producing a play on MK and PK - Paul Kariya the captain of Mighty Ducks. The genius writer is Mano, contributing writers are Kooky, Yingshan (who is also the set designer), Wonder, A-Chan, and Littlepebbles. Chemy is the photographer. Magenta is the ultimate matchmaker, and the rest are managers of this co. I come here just to chill out. Sometimes we refer to MK as 6.0 b/c of the unprecedented # of perfect 6.0s she earned, and PK as #9, he wears #9.

Yingshan
To New Comers: Welcome to our fantasyland! The purpose of this place is for us to have some fun with our favorite skater: Michelle Kwan. We weave fictional accounts and speculations into very skimpy facts. So you'll be in serious trouble if you take what we say here seriously. And everything we say here are for your and our eyes only. None of this should be repeated elsewhere on the USNET, e.g. RSSIF, FSW.... [Or the PK Forum!!!!!]

We're creating a romance novel/movie script. It's temporarily named "Ice to Ice" (I like "Icy Affairs" better). The leads are Michelle Kwan ("6.0") and Mighty Ducks captain Paul Kariya (#9). No, we don't know whether there's anything going on between them. We pick them to write because we think they make a perfect couple. [And not only because they're both Asian, or Asian and 1/2 Asian!] The main screen writer is Mano. I'm the producer/editor. My partner in production is Magenta. Chemy is our photographer. Wonder is my co-editor. Skatingfan is our sound whiz. Blizzard is our art director. Kooky and annabelle are on our contributing writing team. Littlepebbles is our director.

Welcome to stay and watch our creative process. But please obey our confidentiality rule. We don't want our brilliant ideas being pirated.

One More Criteria.....
for anyone who wants to read here:

YOU NEED A SENSE OF HUMOR!

Didn't he said in an interview that he does not have the time, unless a girl happens to fall on his
lap, or something like that. Now really beefers, would a 5'10" model more likely to do a flying sitspin
and land on #9's lap? Or would America's sweet heart, " the goddess of ice" be more likely
to fly and sit on his lap, then makes his head spins. NO CONTEST.
BTW beefers, it is still my pitch that one of you should make an angel tape for the duck. I think
6.0's Hands program is perfect. Our swan is HOT. Just watch the tape again folks and you will
see what I mean. It is a great story of MK fighting back, she has the spirit. You only need to
put MK's Hands program + Weiss and Goebels lps. Add the story of how Weiss fights to retain
his title, then you have an inspirational tape for the duck. I say it would be therapuetic for
a bruise ankle. No need to include any Y&B or dancers or pairs.

You know I wouldn't be putting Weiss and especially not Goebel in there unless you're slant is to make the Duck jealous. I'm the worse at making videos so I'm out of the running. Yikes, 5'10 model with 6 inch stilleto heels isn't going to look too good next to a 5'10 Duck either. Paul, though art making a mistake. Here's to hoping thou mistress is still hockey and will wait until July to have your soulmate Michelle drop conveniently on your lap. Skatingfan will be doing the tossing, heehee. Remember, Yingshan is probably still recovering from her effort of trying to toss Paul onto the ice after Michelle skated at COI last year.

skatingfan
February 22nd, 2000, 07:32 PM
No, my slant is that this video should at least be disguised as something encouraging and
inspirational to the duck. The heart and spirit of a champ. Since Goebel landed the 3 quads
Weiss really had to do the skate of his life to win. Same with Mk, she fought back. It is a good
way to sneak in a HOT 6.0 in the video. Why would #9 be jealous of Weiss who is married, and Tim
oh well I don't think #9 would be jealous of Tim's speed on the ice. Just hope he won't be
so swooned by Little K that he falls and get anothe concussion. Poor 6.0 would have to spend
weeks nursing him back to recovery .
BTW, Mano, I am p*ssed off at the latest ' why are people criticizing the doll's musicality, skating
etc at you know where. What has the WORLD came to.

mano
February 22nd, 2000, 08:16 PM
I believe the World is too busy kissing the triple flutz (as per one FSW poster) of said doll. It gets to me because they can't see that they've been doing the same old to Michelle for the longest time and at no point do we hear a "She's only 14, 15, 16, 17 etc" excuse. Sure, it's okay to criticize Michelle to no END, but the young uns are untouchable!!! HELLO!!! GET REAL!!! Then we get somebody that says "Oh, the Kwan fans are going to jump on you for that!!!" THAT gets my blood boiling because I HATE generalizations like that!!! On second thought, don't get me started on that topic. I might blow a fuse and I don't have a lot left these days.

Paul has a girlfriend JODEpk89
(17/F/California) 2/22/00 9:21 pm
Here are a couple of reasons why Kariya has been doing so well....I got this article or little message courtesy of Liz Price in my e-mail.

Several factors have combined to change Kariya's scoring output: One, he is fully recovered from a quadriceps injury suffered during training camp. Two,Teemu Selanne, Kariya's principal compadre,
has emerged from a scoring funk and is providing dynamic leadership. Three, Hartsburg summoned the
Kariya-Steve Rucchin-Selanne line and told them to feel free to assert themselves offensively at the expense of some defensive duties. Four,
Anaheim's power play, the NHL's best last season and one of the worst much of this season, is
working again. Five, Kariya is back to averaging about five shots a game after dipping below that mark.
And six? Well, Paul Kariya is discovering life
away from the rink, including meeting a new girlfriend and more thoroughly separating his personal and professional lives. Since Kariya arrived in the NHL six years ago, he has
earned a reputation for maniacal commitment to on- and off-ice preparation, throwing himself fully and completely into his career. But the 25-year-old Duck is learning to round out his existence and concentrate on spending quality time at the rink rather than quantity time."He's so much happier and so much looser," says superstar pal Selanne.
"I think I'm much more relaxed than even a year ago," Kariya acknowledges.
"But I think a lot of that just comes from
experience and realizing there is only so much you can do. In years past, I would take the game home. Basically, it was 24 hours a day of thinking about hockey and it just tires
you. Now I try to work smarter. Believe me, every time I step on the ice, every time I'm in the weight room, I'm 100-per-cent focused on what I'm
doing, but at the same time, now it's much easier to leave it at the rink."
The result is a player at the top of his game. Hartsburg says his captain brings a unique skill set to the NHL.

"There's not a player that you can compare him to because of his size, his speed, his hockey sense, his grit," says Hartsburg of the 5-foot-10 dynamo.
"This is a tough little guy. He'll take a beating and he'll go into traffic, he'll block shots. He's fearless out there...I don't know that there has been another player who has played that you really can compare what he does. There are big guys that do what Paul does. But I don't know if there has ever been a small guy who has had the success offensively and done as many good team things as he does."
---------------------------
It's looks like our Pauly boy has a
girlfriend...she's one of his ex's! I guess Paul believes in second chances when it comes to relationships

***

What say you folks? Some of the quotes from Paul, Teemu, and Hartburg I've seen from LA Times, OCRegister...probably rehashes of the same old. The others could have been added.

Generally speaking, I'm not a Ducks fan (they seem too commercialized, sorry). But Paul Kariya does sound like a wonderful match for Michelle (always thought so, even before I discovered this forum), and anything that brings my two fav sports together is fine by me.

As for Miss Model (ugh <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/sick.gif ALT="xo">), I'll believe when I see it. Application accepted by me and no doubt by the other BFFFers. You have to wait for Yingshan though for the initiation and you have to be prepared to sign the contract with blood. BTW, all blood types accepted.

Hehehe, Rangers are still second to my heart. Can't help it though if Rangers General Manager Neil Smith broke a bunch of us New Yorkers hearts by trading el Capitan Messier. Remember, I temped a short time at the Garden in the Summer of '97 then next thing I know, Mess is gone...Hmmmnnnn maybe its me? The Ducks are in a fine mess right now (Pun not intended) because Kariya is injured and will be out for a couple of games. They are vying for a spot in the playoffs and the Western Conference is very competitive right now. If they don't make it to the playoffs, you can kiss MK going to post-season Duck games during COI tour. She'll probably go to other Hockey games but it wouldn't have the same effect as seeing her with Elvis watching the Ducks get trounced by the Red Wings like last year. Those were the days.

BTW, she hasn't been spotted in a Duck's game since Pre-season when the Ducks faced the LA Kings at the old Forum. Methinks she's concentrating on her school and skating and trying to keep fun at a minimum this year. That's why if the Ducks don't make the playoffs, we just have to wait until next year if she shows up.

You have your points regarding PK having a girlfriend. Like I said, the quotes seem to be straight from LA Times and OC Register and the "girlfriend" stuff was cut and pasted for extra measure. There is no way that PK can be that secretive with having a girlfriend unless he is really THAT good. ESPN, LA Times, and OC Register would have already sniffed it out. It's what happens when you're an elite in the Sport. But then again, Kournikova's supposed relationship with Fedorov and Pavel Bure will get printed because she's really well known. So is Yashin's girlfriend model Carol Alt. Plus I really can't see Paul settling for a model...but then again, he is a man, sigh.

Looks to me like it could be another hoax made to set us off. Hey, at least it spiced up BFFF...We can always find Michelle another prospect in the NHL or elsewhere, hehehehe. Tim Goebel anyone? (Excuse me while I hurl!!!)

Blueshirt, welcome to beeferland. BTW if you know about Ms. Tropicana, Ms TEacher, and Ms Petticoat, you must have

BTW, I like to give different take on things here in Beefer land. From time to time I will throw in Mr. Summer Olympic
Seatle, and Mr. 3X4 just for fun. As always the best golfer, and best dress and most handsome golfer in the world 008 is in my fiction 6.0's big brother.

If #9 really is dating, I prefer that he is not dating any models, sorry for the stereotype. I know C. Crawford was

Are you serious about the tape? I might be willing to do it. I do have every part of Nationals on tape and two VCRs which enable me to dub. But I am not sure if you should trust this to me. My dubbing skills are not wonderful and for instance sometimes my finger slips on the stop button and I end up with things like the introduction to COI's Dante's Prayer being "98 O Wan" forever on my highlight tape...

skatingfan
February 23rd, 2000, 02:23 PM
Why not. See, last year Magenta sent a copy of Michelle's bio "Heart of a Champion" to the
Mighty Duck. Magenta also enclosed a fan letter telling #9 that s/he is a fan, and also a
fan of Mk and Woods. S/he said athletes like #9, 008, and 6.0 etc inspires her. magenta said
she wished Paul well, and hoped he would be inspired by Heart of a Champion.

If you make the tape you probably would have to write a similar letter of how MK, and Weiss and
3X4, and #9 inspire you etc. Since this is a democratic place, let's vote, I am all for it.
Eilaram, don't worry about dubbing skills, you will do fine. Prabably need to include Peggy's and

Blueshirt it's interesting hearing someone from New York say the Ducks are too commercial. Is it because of the Disney ownership? I live about 15 mins from the Pond and I hear more about LA teams like the Kings, Lakers, & Dodgers than our Orange County Teams. However PK and his Teammate Teemu Selanne are very respected and well liked in our community. When I think of commercialized I think of the Redwings, Avs, Stars and maybe Pitt, because they're either winners or have very hi profile players, i.e. Jagr. It seems like I see very little on TV about my Ducks (we do however get their games), even here in their hometown. I know it all boils down to winning and until they do that they will be just another team that almost could.

Mano, all those things that person posted about PK have been written, including the quotes from PK & TS. I question this quote that I have not seen:
Well, Paul Kariya is discovering life away from the rink, including meeting a new girlfriend and more thoroughly separating his personal and professional lives.

Who made it?, Were did they get their info? WHO is Liz Price and what is she to PK? Somehow with everything we've learned about PK and his dedication to his sport I find it hard to believe that he is busy with a new girlfriend. His team is on the verge of playoff elimination and I would guess these are very serious times for him. I am still going to take the Wait & See mode and will keep my eyes and ears open around town.

I don't have a problem with natural blonds, but is that chick on NHL cool shots a natural? I don't think she's that great looking but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The shame is that people in high profile lifestyles usually hook up with someone they meet through good friends or at functions promoting their sport. We need another fan fair with an invite to Michelle. And please no 3X4, he just seems to immature for her.

Thanks for verifying on the articles. Just been getting that from PK's Yahoo club. Yup, the Ducks are in a precarious position right now because they really have to make the playoffs. They are 4 points away from a spot and San Jose is occupying that last #8 spot.

Ooh, analogy time. Neil Smith is to the NY Rangers as Pierre Gauthier is to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. heehee. Nice guy but not a good GM these days, methinks. If he had his head on straight in '97 and '98 Messier would still be a Ranger and Gretzky would still be playing if Neil brokered a deal to get Pavel Bure to play for the Rangers instead. Gretz said as much!!!

I'll not believe the story of a girlfriend unless it's from a more credible source such as a picture in the papers or TV commentator introduces someone as "Kariya's girlfriend at rink side" during a MD game. Calm down, everyone! All we need is a charity function in May where MK and PK will both be present. It's in the stars. :-) But that may mean MD will have to miss the playoffs since PK won't have time otherwise.

It must have been a really sloooooooooow sports day becuase earlier this week they had an article about the guy who maintains the ice for our CHL team and it was saying that they freeze ice hockey ice at 9 degrees and figure skating ice at 14 degrees to make it softer. Does that mean that at the fanfare Michelle had to skate on harder ice than usual? I know this question probably belongs in the "whoopy who cares why are you asking" category, but that just made me curious.

mano
February 26th, 2000, 09:14 AM
You weren't the only one who thought about that. I already knew before Michelle skated at the Fanfair that hockey players and figure skaters skate on different ice. So I often wondered if for that day they softened the ice just for her sake. Nice to know if they did.

EDIT feature is back folks. I'm a happy person. As for the PK and supposed girlfriend, I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter because it's his loss, hehehe. So thanks Chemy, I won't panic anymore. Knew Yingshan should have tossed PK back at COI back then!!! Onward to more fiction folks!!!

I recently stumbled upon this board, and find the stories to be wonderfully irreverant and well written. Though I never knew who Paul Kariya was, I find several valid reasons for why MK and #9 would be a great couple. When doing more research on #9 I discovered that he was 25, and as we all know MK is 19. Though I know age isn't the most important factor in a relationship, am I the only one who thinks that #9 is way too old for MK. I know its only a six year difference, but its six years of a very critical period. Maybe my bias stems from the fact that my sister is 25 and I am 19, and I would never ever, think of dating on of her female friends. Just think of it, if MK would have been in a regular high school setting, than when #9 graduated from high school at 17 or 18, MK would have only been 11 or 12. And when Michelle's 25, PK will be 31!!! Not even in his twenties, does that seem off to anyone? Don't get me wrong #9 seems to be a great guy, and I would think him and MK would have made a great pair, if only he was at least three years younger. Even when I read those wonderful stories, I can't help that think of the age factor. What does everyone else think? : and )

MK all the way, this is just fictional and for fun. It is boy friend fan fiction, not MK/PK fan
fiction. There are just more Paul fans here. I you want to write some fan fiction stories
of Mk and someone else you are most welcome to. Since some writers here are in
writers' block land. So who do you think will be the best match for MK.
For me, if Tiger Woods is not already hitched with Joanna, I will pray everyday
for him and Mk being matched. They are 4 years apart.

Anyhoo beefers, such a dry spell for the die hard romantics. Even the oh so
hoped for secret engagement of Tiger and JJ turned out to be just a rumor.

BTW, as usual master tiger made my day. He is brilliant in match play. #1 in the world

was fearless, and put on an exhibition game. What I love about some of the commentators
said about him today.
"He is a clothes manufactures' dream, elegant and roomy, (i.e. he is kind of slim and trim)
"He put on an exhibiton."
"He is fearless."
"Golf and f.s. are the only 2 sports where you can not play defense."

kjesse--I think the top NHL teams--the Redwings, Stars, Avs (whom I also love), Leafs--are more hyped than anything else. The Rangers get that treatment too, and often without merit, because of their location. I guess I think of the Ducks as more commercialized because of the Disney connotation--the movie and its various spin-offs, etc. Actually this is probably true of all pro-sports teams nowadays, not just the Ducks.
It's funny that you thought I was from NY, because I actually live in San Jose, California (a transplanted east-coaster, sigh). Don't worry, I can't stand the Sharks, and will be rooting whole-heartedly for the Ducks to overtake them in the standings lol.
As for Neil Smith, I can endure his ineptitude (there are arguably worse GMs in the league--the Habs' Rejean Houle comes to mind). What I abhor is his inability to take *any* responsibility for the results of his bad decisions, and instead putting the blame on us fans, saying we won't tolerate rebuilding (these are the same fans who waited 54 years for a Cup). What results is a ridiculously high-priced team satisfied with squeaking into the playoffs every year, and never getting better. Yes, I am a bitter woman <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/mad.gif ALT=">:">.

skatingfan--a "yea" vote from this corner. After all, what have we to lose, besides (potentially) making fools out of ourselves? There are worse ways to do so.

Hi blueshirt. I don't know why I thought you were from New York either! I guess cause you were talking about the Rangers & Mano was posting and I know she's from NY. Why don't you like the Sharks? I don't know too much about them except they're pretty good. I didn't start watching Hockey until we got our team here in Anaheim, been a fan ever since. I love the Avs too, but really dislike the Stars, Redwings and Coyotes. Ducks are on TV now in Scal, 3-2, 3rd per, Ducks over Edmonton. Minus #9 of course, due to injury.

I didn't know hockey and figure skating used different kinds of ice. When you think about it, it does make sense.

I wanted Tiger to win today but thought Clark played a fine game and was very deserving of the win. Isn't it interesting how a player who was sometimes winning, but never the big tournaments, became better once they spent time with Tiger? i.e. Mark OMera, the best golfer never to win a major, takes Tiger under his wing when he turns Pro, they become bestfriends and neighbors, play golf together all the time and within that year Omera wins the British Open and the Masters. Clark's coach for the last 1.5 years is also Tigers coach. Clark and Tiger have gotten to know each other quite well and have been practicing together, today was the best he's ever played. Tiger ups everyone's game.

I believe Tiger started making the Red shirt/Black pants on Sunday after he won the Masters.

Gee wiz, all this sports talk. We need romance!!!

skatingfan
February 27th, 2000, 08:04 PM
So Kjese what is your vote about that video?

I don't know when Tiger started the Sunday red thing. Tida believes that red is his
color and she persuaded Tiger to wear red on Sundays. Tiger did spoof or rebel
against his mom one time early in his pro career by wearing green, i forgot which
tourney, and he won. That was before masters.

Clarke is very deserving to win. Seems like golfers and fans take win/loss
easier than fans of other sports. I never get upset if Eldrick does not win,
but then I always say Tiger has 4 decades, and Michelle in her sports only
has 4 minutes, well actually 6 min and 30 seconds.

Who's the dude below your name?

MKALLTHEWAY, six year is not that much difference. You're a guy. Conventional wisdom says you should not date your elder sister's friends since they are six years your senior. That's probably why you wouldn't even consider it. There's no such prohibition when the gender is reversed. And age difference grows smaller with aging. 18 and 12 sounds a big gap, but 36 and 30 doesn't. You'll understand it a bit better when you get there. :-)

blueshirt, here are BFFFers' Ten Commandments:
10. You shall not put forth any KFC around MK's temple where we worship.
9. You shall put the success of our production above your personal gain
8. You shall do everything to further our causes, e.g. sending PK a MK's book, hinting of MK when you can talk to PK, no matter whether it makes you a laughingstock.
7. You shall not nominate any guys for MK lightly (You shall do a detailed background check before mentioning it here). Our girl deserves the best.
6. You shall not be vulgar in any creative writing or picture splicing.
5. You shall not throw yourself at any guy who we consider a good match for MK no matter how attractive you find him to be or how close you get to him. This is a non-competitive clause.
4. You shall not mention any BFFF outside of this thread, especially not in any PK Forum.
3. You shall have a sense of humor.
2. You shall not mistake any writings here as "news".
1. You shall bow to the high pristess's wisdom at all time!

I just heard from CNN and ESPN that NHL's superstar Bure proposed to Anna Kournikova, the tennis Lolita, and she said yes. Bure is 28 and Kournikova is 18. MKALLTHEWAY, and you think six - year is a big gap. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

not follow hockey.

yingshan
February 28th, 2000, 10:24 PM
Fedrov was out of the picture last year. Kournikova and Bure live on the same floor in a Florida Condo. Proximity apparently helps Bure's case. :-) I haven't found too many people, besides teenage boys that is, who care for Anna. She hasn't won ANY tennis tournaments so far, yet she got endorsements and tons of media coverage simply because of her looks. She's not even that pretty in my opinion. But she has no qualm about flauting her body by wearing as little as possible on the tennis court. Her usual practice outfits include a sports bra and a tiny weeny short. And she has blonde hair (not sure whether it's from a bottle) and blue eyes. That's about it. I can't remember anything semi-intelligent out of her mouth so far. She seems to be very @#%$y about her looks and men's attraction toward her. She started dating Fedrov when she's around 15. "Tennis Lolita" fits her perfectly. My prediction is that she'll be remembered as the most wed tennis player. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">

<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/eek.gif ALT=":eek"> Just kidding...

Re: Anna Kournikova--the version I heard was that she's known Federov since she was 13 and started dating him at 16, when he was 28 (yes, there is a 12-year age difference there--try to top that!) So, I guess you can say she's "improving." *shudder*

Hey there kjesse, how's it going? Weellll...I don't exactly *hate* the Sharks, per se (reserve that for Detroit, New Jersey et al). Objectively speaking, they are a young talented team with lots of potential, without *too* much hype. Maybe it's out of resentment (yeah I know, bad reason), always seeing their mugs in the San Jose Mercury while I pine for the good ol' Grey Lady? Or is it that their radio announcer's voice is so darned annoying? Either way, it's kind of petty, I admit <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":p">.
On a different note, I'm glad that we seem to share similar tastes when it comes to the Western Conference powerhouses. St Louis is growing on me, too, if only because they are beating the Wings in their division right now <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/grin.gif ALT=">D">.

So that's why I saw her picture on the front page of a Chinese Newspaper someone was reading on the Subway. Times like that I wished I knew how to read Chinese characters. I still remember talking about Kournikova first with Fedorov then with Bure here. Oy, Congrats to the newly engaged. Honestly, they sort of look good together. And face it, Bure is a better catch than Fedorov money-wise not that she needs any. They sort of look alike too, in a way. LOL, The Russian Rocket hitched to the Tennis Lolita, what a match. Hey, you all know his brother Valeri Bure is married to actress Candace Cameron (formerly of Full House). They married young too, I think she was 19 and he was 22 or something, I forget. Closer in age though.

BTW, Welcome MKALLTHEWAY. 6 years isn't that big a gap. My sister is married to someone 6 years older than her. No big whoop there, heehee. I honestly prefer the man a few years older than meself too.

He starred as Private Carpazzo (sp) in Saving Private Ryan, was the voice of the Iron Giant and is currently starring in the Sci-Fi thriller Pitch Black, and with Ben Afleck in Boiler Room. He has acted/written/directed two indie films, Multi-Facial and Strays. Anywho, I just find him appealing, is all, maybe its the muscles. He's not pretty boy Hollywood type, probably eats the likes of Leo for dinner, hehehe (apologies Leo fans). And yes, CHEMY is responsible for giving me my man, virtually at least.

Hey: My husband and I are exactly eight days apart. He was born Jan. 30th and I was born Feb. 7th, 1969. Can anyone beat that?

****************

#9 picked up the ringing phone and was greeted by a quiet voice that seemed to be choking back sobs.

"Why am I reading all over the internet that you have a girlfriend? I think you have some explaining to do. If you want me out of the picture at least you could have the courtesy to tell me to my face."

"Slow down, Michelle. You of all people should know not to believe everything you read. Those same reporters that keep asking you the boyfriend question are surely going to keep speculating in the case of a handsome eligible star hockey player with a little money to his well-known name."

She couldn't help but laugh. "Feeling humble again tonight?"

"You know that you are the ONLY woman for me and you should never doubt that no matter what you read. If it said I was dating Kathie Lee Gifford or even D!ck Button, would you believe that too?"

"I'm sorry. I should know better than to doubt you. Why don't you come over and let me fix you dinner to make it up to you?"

"I'll be right there." He tossed the frozen dinner back into the freezer, slipped Elvis a twenty dollar bill, and ran out the door.

Long time no see, people!

Good news! My 2 week 6am-2:30 job stint ends tomorrow so I can work at normal hours and stop beating the sun up and go to bed at a time for someone over 8 years old.

re 9 and 6.0's age differences:

1) My father is over 12 years older than my mother and it didn't hurt them any. They are divorced now, but not because of the age differences.
2) On the other hand, my mother is 10 years older than my stepfather. They've been married for going on 8 years and they're doing fine.
3) The age difference won't matter much when they are 90 and 96 years old in about 70 years.
4) Everyone knows girls mature faster than boys! (No offense if you're a guy <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":b">)

Mr. UCLA Filipino packs up all his national boards III review books,
he does not need them for the time being. His meeting with the dean
of med school went real well. The dean congratulated UCLA for his effort &
vision of coordinating students and faculty for a medical clinic in an
underserved area down town. Mr. Filipino politely thanked the dean
for allowing him the opportunity for opening the free clinic, the first of its
kind in the nation. He promised the dean that he will work very hard on
this project, and hoped many med students in the future would be
involved . The dean beamed a huge smile when he
heard UCLA's final decision of not proceeding with graduating from
med school in 3 years. "Young man, you will not regret your decision,
finishing med school in 4 years allows your the opportunity of one more
year of clinical work, that will help in the long run, what makes you
change your mind, Ok nevermind, I am glad about your decision."
Mr. Filipino thought, it is not what but who changed my mind. It is
a beautiful 19 y/o swan. He met her about one year ago at the opening
of a sports medicine wing of a local medical center. 6.0 was the celeb
for that ceremony. She agreed to go
b/c her M.D. who helped her with her toe fracture recovery was the
chief of this new wing. UCLA was there b/c the same M.D. helped
him with a sky diving accident, and his family donated some $ ( small token
amount by his family's standard) to the med center. Prior to that meeting
he had never heard of the swan. He was buried in 6 feet deep of books
all his life. He was glad he took a study break that spring day a year ago.
He fell in love immediately after he saw her, and that was a new experience,
usually girls chased him.
That was a couple of months before his third year in
med school. He did not have time for anything. The clinical year is the most
difficult year in med school, plus he aimed to grad in 3 years, so that
added extra demand on himself. He however had never forgotten about
the warm and beautiful girl he met. He is very aware that #9 would be
tough to beat, but then he has never failed to achieve anything in his life.

The phone rang, it was his assistant, yes at the ripe old age of 24, he has
his own personal assistant. His family is rich $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, his father is
one of the wealthiest man from the old beloved country. His mother lives in
CA, b/c she wants to be close to her youngest son. His family's business
empire reaches every corner of the world.
UCLA," Hi, any good news."
Assistant, " There is not much news."
UCLA," Is #9 dating or seeing Ms. Tropicana Finland or not."
Assistant, "No one knows, sources who know #8 well, quote that
#8 is hopeful, you know he is always trying to match #9 with Ms. TF."
UCLA," Why don't we proceed with the plan and offer #9, and
TF an endorsement, and shoot some high profile commercials with
both of them together."
Assistant, ' That would be more difficult to do, trying to work out
contracts for both of them, why not offer 6.0 an endorsement
contract. That will give you a lot of opportunities to meet with her"
UCLA," No, I do not want 6.0 to know that I come from a family
with $. I have a feeling that would work against me."
Assistant, " Why."
UCLA, " Just my gut feeling."
Assistant," #9 has $"
UCLA sighed, " We both have $, but he earns his. I work hard
all my life, I mean school work, charity etc, but I have never earned
a pay check, b/c I do not need to. I am afraid she will be totally
unimpressed with my $."
Assistant, "All right, I will ask the ad guys to proceed. And good
news for you, CMN is willing to give you a spot, as
a volunteer in their national campaign, hopefully 6.0 will agree
to be part of the campaign this year."
UCLA, " I have a feeling she will be there. Have you talk to her
agent about the down town free clinic project"
Assistant," He gave me the usual run around, that he would
pass the info to Ms. K."
UCLA, " Please try harder. The clinic will open in 6 weeks"
Assistant, " All that work for a 19 y/o."
UCLA becoming annoyed and a bit angry, " I am going to
pretend that I did not hear that, not just another 19 y/o, but
a 19 y/o whom I am madly in love with."
Assistant thought quietly to himself, Hmmmmmmmmmm, could #9
and UCLA be worthy opponents.

Chemy
Mr. UCLA Filipino is loosely based on someone who was 5 years
ahead of me in school. He was rich, handsome, AOA (i.e.
earned honors in med school.), and Filipino He should be in his
mid to late 30s by now, too bad he is married.

LOL, can't believe I campaigned so hard for PK and all I get is grief, sigh.

Yingshan, weren't you supposed to bump into him in the supermarket or something, kidnap PK and ducktape him on Michelle's jeep? Would make a nice commercial for Chevy.

My apologies I didn't explain earlier. Kababayan means fellow countryman.

Deetlebug said Yes. She usually is reliable.
Ahh......, little 6.0 is all grown up, I have such
mixed emotions, if that is true, very happy for her.
But she is all grown up, not the little Michelle with
her pony tail huge ribbon. Somehow it is so much more
difficult to accept 6.0 is all grown compare to accepting
008 is all grown.

I think Deetles was just saying that the only people that should know if Michelle has a boyfriend would be her immediate family. Otherwise, none of us MK forumers would have any knowledge of this firsthand. The most recent info in USA Today still stands, MK has no boyfriend. Everything else is fictional. BTW, I can't wait until this chapter of BFFF is up to 80 because we can start a new one with a clean slate and forget about MK/PK having other significant others other than each other.

Thanks for translation Mano. BTW I loved the way you slipped in the part about the injured foot in that thread.

There's televised Duck's hockey game tonight...well at least for NYC since they play the Rangers. I'm not taping it though 'cause the Ducks seem to lose everytime I do that...but then again, they seem to lose everytime I watch. GACK, I'm a jinx. Hey, at least Pauly is around. Can scan the crowd for his insignificant other. If it was Michelle, then it would be a SIGNIFICANT other, hehehe.

there ain't no one to talk to. I've come to the conclusion that I am a jinx, thus I will no longer watch any televised Duck games. They were winning with two minutes to go, I think. They don't seem to have the ganas or desire to finish their game with any momentum. They become complacent in the worse times possible. Any other Ducks fans out there disappointed? I've been thinking about this for a while. Should we retire BFFF forever?

Retire? I find that idea a little saddening...this is my favorite place on the forum to come to...hmm...but if you really want to.

I will be starting BFFF Silver #25. As you can see, I'm not much on retiring BFFF. I can't believe we have 25 BFFFs in just a year.
