Think we need a new place. Chemy, if the new ones are still in the making, please re-post that old fashioned picture. You know, the one that MK and PK will stay together forever and forever. I also miss the Cutting Edge starring 6.0 and #9. Someone please fill the BFFF by-laws.

did anyone happen to catch the comment mr. button made before MK skated? it was something like how MK picked the song because it touched her...hmmmmm.. it seems to me to touched her for a reason..........*cough*PK*cough*....anyways, i've been trying to search the internet for those pictures from the newspaper, but i can't seem to find them, although i've found a picture of PK when he was younger in hockey gear....

the touching part, I meant. Heehee, wondering how touching PK got, okay I won't go there, mano get your mind out of the gutter!!! Here's an article for you all on PK thanks to JZ from PK Forum: (Quite interesting) *** Another article by Steve Bisheff!!!*** Anaheim - He is the Mighty Ducks' $10 million-a-year poster boy, one of the two or three more accomplished players in the NHL and, if a vote were taken today, probably the runaway winner as the most popular athlete in Orange County. And yet, Paul Kariya continues to skate amid a shroud of mystery. While the public adores him, it knows little about him. Although he has spent five spectacular seasons here, he has been as good at deflecting attention as he has been at perfecting shots, consistently wrapping himself in a well-padded cocoon of privacy. Kariya has refused to talk about his personal life, his search for acceptance off the ice, his transition from a chy teen-age Canadian sheltered by a loving family to one of Southern California's more eligible bachelors. All of it always has been off limits. Until now. Maybe because, at age 24, he has become more self-assured and outgoing, or maybe because he simply has realized his stature has grown so much among hockey fans that some sort of self-revelation was inevitable. Whatever the reason, Kariya sat down with a reporter recently and, for the first time, allowed a peek into his world beyond the hockey rink. Paul Kariya Unplugged, you might call it. So for all you Kariya-followers who have watched and wondered since this gifted, little man first came gliding into our view in 1994, here it is: He lives tastefully, but not luxuriously, in a relatively modest Tustin Ranch townhouse and drives a three-year-old "reliable" Lexus. His only apparent extravagance is a personal cook he hired to tend to his meals. Yes ladies, he dates "moderately," and wants to have a family eventually. But he concedes that's "a long way off." He doesn't frequent the local clubs as much as he did his first year or two, although he loves Las Vegas and the opportunity to play blackjack, laugh and let off steam with his teammates. He's a huge movie fan, likes mob films, Robert DeNiro and is something of a "Star Wars" freak, acknowledging that he saw "The Phantom Menace" six times this past summer and that he has watched the first two parts of the series "at least 20 times." And yes, in case you're wondering, he does have a favorite character. It is Yoda. He is an avid reader who prefers bestsellers and particularly mystery novels. One of his regular stops is a neighborhood Barnes & Noble, where he can spend hours browsing among the stacks. His musical tastes range from Eric Clapton to more middle-of-the-road, easy-rock stations. He likes Chicago and Boston and groups from the '70s and '80s. Sport is not his only profession, it is his passion. He is an avid golfer, enjoys watching baseball, football, basketball, boxing, and soccer. And ESPN Classic is one of his favorite TV haunts. The second oldest in a family of five children, he says his parents taught them all to be close, but independent. They stay in touch regularly and his older sister, Michiko, works as his personal financial coordinator. "I'm the first one to admit, it's been a growing process for me here," Kariya said. "I was shy at first. I wanted to keep a low profile. I felt I needed to prove to myself on the ice before I said things off the ice. Now I'm a lot more confident." And comfortable. "It's taken me a while, but yes, I like living in Orange County fulltime now. I think this is the best place to live, whether you're single or married. Obviously, among other things, it offers a great night life for a single guy." Not that Kariya is a night person. On the contrary. "My average day is pretty boring, actually," he said. "I probably spend more time working out than anything. I get up at 6 or 6:30, eat a big breakfast and, lately, spend at least a half hour rehabilitating my ankle. I have a strict stretching routine, then I drive down to my workout area and spend about three hours there. He tries to eat healthy. That's why he hired a cook. "But I don't mind going to McDonald's once in a while," he said. He hangs out mostly with other athletes, many of whom are married and whose wives are constantly trying to fix him up. "You know how it is," he said, smiling, " 'We have this wonderful babysitter we'd love for you to meet.' Yeah right." With his dark good looks and rising celebrity, Kariya probably doesn't have much problem meeting women, although he said it took some time for him to learn how to pick friends away from the ice. "Unless you knew someone before, you weren't sure," he said. "Some are solely interested in you because of who you are." For him, a special date is likely to be treated to "a nice dinner," maybe at somewhere such as the Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel, followed by a movie. He enjoys the fact that Orange County, unlike Vancouver or Toronto, he can maintain some semblance of normalcy. "I go to the malls here and not that many people recognize me," he said. "It's much worse back home. Here, it's great. Sometimes, in a restaurant, people say, 'You're so small in person,' or something like that." Interestingly, in his off-the-ice hours, much of Kariyas's time is spent watching and studying people who are masters at their respective crafts. DeNiro on screen. Greg Maddux on the pitching mound. Barry Sanders when he was still on the football field. The Mighty Ducks' all-star also is quick to gush about the front row seat he had at a Clippers game against the Chicago Bulls a couple years ago. "Getting to see Michael Jordan up close like that," Kariya said, "was really special. I was happy to get the chance to see him before he retired." He plays golf, although not as well as he once did. "When I was 14 or 15, I had a single-digit handicap," he said. "Not anymore, though. Not enough time." He's too busy concentration on the present, while maybe glancing a few years down the road, when a couple of family members might join him in the NHL. His brother, Steve, recently signed with the Canucks, and Martin, the baby of the family, has joined Paul's alma mater, the Universtiy of Maine, on a hockey scholarship. Paul Kariya is happy about that. He is happy about most things. He has money, success, friends, family, not to mention a new year-round, warm-weather base that seems to make him feel more at home with each passing day. He thinks of the future now and smiles. He should. Life is definitely good.

Geez - I am away from fan fiction for a couple of days (Watching Kevin Millwood pitch an almost perfect game for the Braves) and so much has happened! NLK007, I love the name too! I think you did a great job as a sleuth keep up the good work! Mano - Great article! It doesn't matter how many times I see that picture of PK posted at the beginning of the thread I just can't seem to tire of it. I am also glad that the last game between the Stars and the Ducks didn't turn into a wrestling or boxing match. As soon as I saw that article on ESPN's web site, I knew you guys would have the inside scoop.

PK's article above mentioned the number 6, 3 times. He watched Phantom Menace 6 times, and wakes up around 6 or 6:30. That's three unless I missed one...but then again he could be a satanist, heehee, just kidding. Could he at least mentioned Dave Matthews Band in there or figure skating or something. These guys got to give us something more tangible. Analysing this article is hard enough. MK added something new to her regular routine at the Kiss and Cry area. Normally we see her touch her nose to her ear thing. This time we witness her left eye (for her left wing man, eh?) wink as well as the nose to ear thing accompanied by "Hi everybody I love you". Okay, all for now. BTW, Thanks skatingfan for the well wishes. Don't worry, your teams will come around one of these days. It's been a long time in coming for us Mets fans. Hey, you always have Tiger and he had a great season, methinks. So anybody reporting from tonight's MD's game? Wonder if MK was there.

MDs won, 5:3. I didn't see the game, mind you. I'm waiting for our brave spy. Are you sure he said "You don't need to worry" instead of "Michelle doesn't need to worry"? :-) BTW, NLK007, you need to sign a non-competitive agreement before your hiring can be official. We must stick to our "cause". There's no "self-promotion", no throwing yourself at PK, no melting at his feet etc, etc. In other words, you have to take the oath of allegiance to MK. :-) skatingfan, I guess we were not very subtle. LOL. I hope PK hasn't connected the dots. Mano, I was wondering what MK said in the kiss & cry before: "...I love you!". Are you sure it's "everyone out there", not "Paul"? :-) Geez, I know which B & N PK hanged out. I've been there several times recently. Book stores are the places where I usually hang out too. I guess I have to check out that one more frequently. :-) He's opened up? How come the reporter didn't ask with whom he moderately dated? :-)

I am terrribly sorry to inform, no MK sighting. Pretty good game tonight...at least we won. I waited for about 45 minutes for Paul to come out. He was the last one. ( I wonder what he was doing)Paul left alone, no Michiko, no MK, and thankfully no girlllzz. They have a 7:30am flight tomorrow to Jersey, they play them on Wednesday. Some of the team went to a club.( the ones that like to party and have a good time, like Teemu) Bill something, near the Pond. I believe Paul was going to stop by for a minute or two but he wanted to get home and rest up. BTW I found out about the club and flight time through the man who runs back and forth to get the cars for the guys( the valet I guess, they treat as a friend though, always chatting it up.). He's really sweet and I'm sure I can get more info if need be. =)I was going to stop by the club but I am sorry guys I was really tired, I only got 2 hours of sleep last night. =( I think Paul only got a little sleep too) because his game wasnt very good today, he tripped on his own a few times and fumbled the puck around more than usual...I wonder whats on his mind. I think I need to be a little more inconspicuous because tonight as I waited for the guys, Oleg Tverdovsky (hes one of the players) waved up at me...I think he is just used to me (and whoever Im with) waiting there. Hehehe.. he probably thinks I am pathetic. oh well...

When I was walking toward the tunnel a man who works for the pond was walking along side me.We started chatting, he asked how I was blah blah blah...anyways hee asked who I came to see and I said Paul. We talked about him a little bit and then I asked if the "celebrities" or famous athletes parked down with the players. He said sometimes or else they park in preferred parking..where I park! So what kind of car does Michelle drive?? Does anyone have a clue? I asked if he had ever seen Michelle Kwan (because she is my idol and I was hoping to see her here) at the pond for games but he said no but had heard she has come to a few. I wanted to ask more questions but ofcourse we were interupted, can't people just leave me alone when I am on my way to discovery?!!? Now I am off to bed again, see how loyal I am.. I wake up in the middle of the night to do this! I should be aloud at least one melt at Paul's feet...and I believe when Paul said "you don't have to worry"...he was day dreaming that he was talking to Michelle. ( But please I want to keep that special line for me...just this one thing.. =) hehe) I keep hearing his voice in my mind when I sleep. It echoes.. *oh swoooonnn* sorry sorry I am delirious :) I beg your forgiveness for swooonnning.

You pretty much know how to get around the Pond and ask the right questions. James Bond, eat your heart out, LOL!!! I wish I had your guts. I'm pretty much speechless when it comes to meeting my fave athletes. Only managed a salute with Knicks Center Patrick Ewing. Dude I'd be beyond speechless if I ever meet somebody from the Ducks, which will never ever happen. Too bad I don't have tickets to the Devils/Ducks game tomorrow. It's just such a hassle to travel from downtown NYC to Continental Airlines Arena in Jersey. Hmmnn, PK not at his best, eh? Tripping over himself and the like. Must be upset MK wasn't in two of the Duck games and he has to leave for a 5 game trip away from the Pond and MK. Come on Michelle, give the guy a break so that he can actually score one of these days...er, I mean in the game, you know, get the puck past the goalie, yeah that's what I meant.

mano, you bad girl! NLK007, you can keep the memory and daydream (or nightdream for that matter), but no melting at his feet. Sorry, rules are rules. Great job though. It seems you know all the right questions to ask. Got a lot of spying experiences before? You have all the required thick skin and gumption. I like it! Keep it up! I knew MK wouldn't show yesterday. Now keep an eye out on 10/24's game. It's a Sunday afternoon game. MK will be in town. Oh, from what we heard, MK's parents bought her a gold Lexus SUV as a gift for her being accepted by UCLA. So keep an eye out on it. PK stayed up late Sunday night huh? Wondering what kept him up. :-)

Michelle drives a lexus SUV...not the smaller compact RS300 but the massive one (LX400?). Its width is equivalent to the length of a normal car. It's sooo BIG. Well anyway, being the stalker that I am...um yeah. I think that would be fun to see if you could find her and track her back to her car. You never disappoint. BTW, Paul still looks like he's having problems with his quads in that picture. He looks pained...but then again that pained expression could be caused by being so close to his beloved yet he can't do anything to quench his desire 'cause the Censors Board is watching closely, sigh. BTW, Paul Kariya finally scored, nope not with MK as we all hoped (just kidding again folks), just at the Mighty Ducks/Devils game on Wednesday 10/13. Unfortunately they lost 3-2, sigh.

Anyhow my question, can anyone give me an accurate answer as to who Anu or whatever in the pictures at disneyland is? is she a friend off teemu or what?! and why is Paul posing with her? Ok and the second thing I have to say is Paul might like Blonde girls. =( I have a picture in my media guide from arrowhead pond...and theres a picture of teemu dealing at casino night and paul (i think) is in it standing right next to a blonde chick who might be his "date". I think it is paul because you cant make out his face but it sure does look like him, now depending on who this girl Anu is then why are there 2 pics of paul next to blonde girls??

Ok I asked this before but nobody said anything, who is/was (Anu the blonde in the photo with Paul) and is she even important? Also were there any sightings of MK and PK together on Saturday in Florida?

mano
October 18th, 1999, 02:38 PM
That somebody started two summers ago. There are currently 3 hoaxes that involves PK. The Anu was the scariest because there were pictures. But if you look closely enough at the pics, Anu has someone's (a guy's) hand on her hip. Whoever was standing next to her was intentionally cut off the pic...and I don't think PK would appreciate someone holding his GF that close now would he? Don't worry about the hoaxes 'cause as PK said so himself, he is still waiting for that nice girl to fall on his lap. As for the blond thing you asked...I'm not sure what he prefers though my sister has a theory that some Asians/half Asians would rather be with caucasians and she even mentioned that she could see MK with someone blond, blue eyed etc. I told her, yuck, never, hope not...but it is her life, sigh.

Apparently, no one worked while I was away. Sheeh... skatingfan, those two characters are indeed Chinese characters. They mean "hunting" and "valley" in Chinese too, chemy. I have no idea how they are pronounced in Japanese. In Chinese, they are pronounced as "show4 gu3". The numbers represent tones, the fourth tone (going down) and the third tone (going down and then up).

Some thoughts as the figure skating season begins and rhyming no less! Please let me know what you think. Deep Thoughts From a Figure Skating Fan Here I am, happy to say, That I have had a marvelous day! For it has finally started, at long last, A new figure skating season, with a great cast! There are some new skaters, and some that we know, Some that are amateur and some that are pro. All with new programs for us fans to see, As long as golf is not scheduled on ABC! For a true skating fan, this is serious stuff. A complete skating TV schedule is just not enough. It is important to have the complete set of tools, First, we must lay down for others the rules. During skating, please do not disturb, Unless you quietly bring food for an appetite to curb. Please, if you are young, put hands over your ears, For I can’t always control saying words you shouldn’t hear. And if the score of a competition you should happen to find, Please do not tell me, unless I say I don’t mind. Finally, and I saved the best part for last, Please join me in watching, we’ll have a blast! The second tool is important at times, When others do not have our skating state of mind. What! Interrupt skating! A fan’s worst fate by far, Thus the invention of the VCR. Just make sure to add tapes to the list, Of things at the grocery store to not be missed. Third is a tool dear to my heart, A computer, a mouse, a modem to start. A scanner, a printer, are part of the set. Then, add a connection to the almighty net, Now you are ready for surfing you see, To go where other fans are there to meet. There are magazines, articles and news bites on-line. Message boards where updates are made all the time. Official web pages, diaries, and games, Schedules, official chat sessions and new skating names. Your nails are all bitten down, your heart beating fast. A competition result, quick you must have. Just go to the web, and look around, A final ranking and score soon will be found. If it is an imaginative person you are looking to be, Fan fiction pages encourage creativity. Now I will leave you all with one final thought, I put some skates on today for some fun I sought. Even as I fell to the ice, toe pick in the way, I'm reminded of how much I just love to play!

PK's hotel room knock, knock PK opened the door and a guy dressed up like a clown bounced in. Before PK could say anything, the clown started singing this really cheesy birthday song to him. After he was done, he handed a bouquet of flowers to PK. PK reached out to take them...and a stream of water shot out and squirted him in the face. The clown laughed out loud and then said "A good friend of yours wanted to wish you a happy 25th birthday." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; "Gee thanks," PK said and the clown left. The next morning PK was kind of tired because his friend Teemu Selanne and the rest of the Mighty Ducks had taken him out clubbing the night before for his birthday. Suddenly ring, ring. PK: Hello? MK: Happy Birthday! PK: Hey Michelle! I'm surprised you called. MK: Well, I was really busy yesterday because I had a competition plus I was studying for a test, but I couldn't go without wishing you a happy birthday. How did your game go? PK: [sigh] We lost. MK: I'm sorry to hear that. PK: Thanks, we'll get over it. How was your competition in Cheese Land? MK: Fine. My new program went good, and I came in first. PK: Great! Well...thanks a lot for the message from the singing clown yesterday. MK: The what from the what?? PK: You didn't send it? Hmm, the clown said that 'a good friend wanted to wish me a happy birthday'." Wonder who it was from? MK: Nope. I always thought those singing telegram things were kinda cheesy. I'm saving your gift for when we both get back home. I'm not telling you though, I want it to be a surprise. PK: Will you be meeting me at the airport again? MK: [laughs] Maybe, maybe not. Hey, do you know someone saw us that time? He said we made a very nice couple. PK: Good for him, he has taste. MK: [laughs] Yeah. [pause] PK: So...I saw the couple of pictures of you and Brett Favre. You looked like you were having a real good time. Did you enjoy meeting him? MK: Paul, trust me, I like Brett very much -- as a football player. You have absolutely nothing to worry about, okay? PK: [smiling] Okay, I trust you. But will you teach me how to do a spiral when you get back? MK: [smiles also] As long as you teach me how to shoot a hockey puck. You know I wasn't very good that day at the Fanfair. [another pause] MK: I tried to call you last night, but you weren't there. PK: That's because Teemu and everyone took me to this club.... [Total silence] Michelle? You still there? MK: Yeah. A club, huh? PK: Yep, it was okay. I didn't really meet any interesting girls. They didn't seem interested in me either, even when I showed them the picture of you at your first skating competition-- MK: WHAT?! PK: --and told them how you taught me to fish. I guess they just don't have good taste. You know, maybe Matt Cullen should have stayed home and gone to bed because he kept nodding off. MK: [happily] Oh I can't wait to see you! I'll have a really good present for you! PK: Great! knock, knock Oh, someone's at the door, so I'll talk to you back at home. MK: Okay, bye. PK: Bye. MK: Bye. PK: Bye. They hung up. PK went to the door and opened it. It was Teemu. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; "Hey Paul, you ready to go? We're all about to leave for the airport." he said. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; "Yep, I'm all packed." &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; "All right, I'll meet you downstairs." Teemu began to head out the door, but then stopped and turned around. "By the way, I forgot to ask you this yesterday. Did you like the singing clown telegram I sent you?" The End

Very nice Littlepebbles! But Please, Please do not keep us waiting to find out what Michelle's surprise is!

Great story Pebbles! Where is MK? No sight of her again at the Ducks/Bruins game yesturday. Maybe they know we know so now they won't be in the public eye for awhile. hmmmmm... Anyways last night I waited for Paul to come out but it seemed like forever so I left... when I got on the 57 to head home I was driving along and the whole time Paul was behind me! When I got off on Tustin Ranch Rd he was beside me at the light. I looked over out of the corner of my eye and no Michelle :(. So we were the only two on the road and Paul wanted to race I guess because I was going 60 and he was right beside me,I hate driving with people right there so I sped up and he sped up, our speeds got up to 75mph in a 45mph zone. I guess I bruised his ego because I won hahaha. Ok so maybe he wasn't racing me maybe Michelle was waiting at his house for him and wanted to get home pronto!

I may be making a very unpopular comment here, I hope #9 only speeds like that when he is alone in his car. He better not be doing that when our angel is in the car with him. No, don't want her to be in any accident, and don't even want her to be in the car when the police stops them. i watched the MD v Caps game a week ago, #9 is very fast, he had 2 assists and #8 scored 2 goals. The whole time some #8 fan, probably a 10 y/o kid behind me was screaming for Teemu. I was so disappointed at the Caps, they played like a bunch of girls.

Littlepebbles! Your best job yet! Can't wait for the sequel. NLK, so you live in Tustin too? In PK's neighborhood? Wow, you really have some advantages. Was PK driving alone? Did he show signs of noticing you and your car? Be careful about your speed. PK can afford a speeding ticket more than you do. :-)

Great story. Again, thanks for saving us writers from the wrath of Khan. Maybe Michelle will pop out of cake for PK as a surprise, just like in Chemy's pic. I'm sure he wouldn't mind one bit...especially if she comes out in her red violin costume. hahahahahahaha, sorry, mind still in the gutter, mano, remember she's under contract with Disney, so it has to be rated G.

October 25th, 1999, 11:54 PM
Ok I doubt PK would drive that fast with his beloved in the car...plus MK probably has no idea he speeds at all being the "conservative" guy he is. Yes, PK was alone and I was with my friend Jen. No, techniccally I dont live in his neighnorhood he lives a couple blocks before me. I had no idea until last night maybe he doesn't even live there he could have been going to someones house. Since he was behind me most of the time until we "raced",he must have noticed my car and the sad thing is that I have a personalized license plate and a Mighty Ducks license plate frame..hopefully he won't recognize it if we ever are near each other again...although I have only seen him around a hand full of times...

With Michelle in Colorado getting used to the altitude and prepping for Skate America, guess I won't be straining my eyes tonight looking in the crowd for her. Yup, Ducks vs Penguins (talk about fowl) game televised on ESPN2 tonight 10:30 est and it's a home game too. It's alright though 'cause I'd rather Michelle win Skate America with a strong sp and lp then spying her in a crowded Arena at the Pond. See I know my priorities. That and we don't have to hear it from detractors at FSW of how MK got a gift, biased scoring, American ice, phony interviews, fluffs and the like.

Things that make you go hmmnnn... Skate order # for Michelle for short program = 6 Skate order # for Michelle for long program = 9 Coinky-dink? I think not. Thanks Wonder for your vote of confidence in the "who do you agree with most" topic at FSW, even if you did call me an "agreeing rat" heehee. Saw PK perform a fast forward version of an Ina Bauer (least his legs were positioned that way) on his second goal against the Caps last night in the ESPN hi-lights of Sportcenter. MK did well, PK did well, it was a good night for the young lovers...er I mean young make-believe couple in their respective sports.

October 30th, 1999, 09:30 AM
Mano - you a star! Several people mentioned you at the FSW bulletin board, a comedian at heart! By the way, Colgate versus Crest? How did you ever come up with that! Even Michelle's skating placement points to destiny! Several articles have mentioned Michelle in a baseball cap. Could it be the Mighty Ducks cap in a show of support? Hummmmmmm?

yingshan
October 30th, 1999, 11:48 AM
Yeah, that (the skating order) explained it. :-) A good night for both 6.0 and #9! Me bad. I didn't catch the ina Bauer #9 did. Maybe I need an eye exam again. LOL. No, we didn't exhaust this topic. We're just short on materials since the couple haven't been very generous at granting us crumbs of information. We just need a Michelle sighting at a MD game or a PK sighting at a MK comp to fuel up all the enthusiasm. MD cap? Where is our agent at UCLA? Quick, check out the cap she's wearing! Plus, any MD t-shirts? #9 perhaps? :-)

mano
October 30th, 1999, 11:41 PM
the star couple. Sheesh, Yingshan, and I thought the crumbs we get that you call a paycheck was bad. Getting absolutely nada from MK/PK is worse 'cause the well of creativity might run dry. Look even Chemy is grasping at straws trying to find more pics of them two. And Bearpaw, the Colgate vs Crest came about 'cause some FSW posters seems to insist that smiling for four minutes is the epitome of artistry. Thus they find skaters such as TL, Lucinda Ruh, and NNN so refreshing 'cause they smile a lot or something. They said they are tired of MK's "pained expressions." So in response I came up with "4 minutes of Colgate White smile" to describe what they mean. I predicted to Wonder that MK would be skating R&J with that Colgate White Smile. I was right, hehehe. The MK/Colgate thread that Adrian wiped out at FSW was meant to poke fun at the fact that there were about a dozen or so "put-down threads" (PDT's) on MK. I figured, while we're at it, nit-picking at every thing negative on MK, why not include toothpaste preferences too. Eventually, everyone who's been reading the PDTs on MK on FSW for so long joined in the fun and used toothpaste and other dental hygiene products to represent things like MK vs TL, MK on a rut, MB refreshing/MK phony remarks, etc. I totally miss that thread and only regret that I didn't print it out before Adrian took it out. Hey NLK were you at the game where PK did hockey version of the Ina Bauer? He was probably thinking about MK's short program at that time.

for any of you orange county locals willing to fork up 200 bucks..... The mighty ducks will put on tuxedos and serve lunch to their fans to help raise money for Mighty Ducks Care/Cystic Fibrosis. Hows everyone...sorry long time no post...yes I was at the game when Paul didi that but I didn't see it, most of the time I was arguing with some freak. Anyhow no sightings yet but tonight cross your fingers :) I'm going to leave in a few minutes just to make it to the game by hopefully 4 or 4:30 (I'm visiting my father in Santa Barbara..traffic and cigarrettes here I come)hopefully I'll get there early so there aren't too many people there so I can really look around hehehe.. About the luncheon...I don't know if you want to waste your money.. you probably won't get the stars of the team...I'm sorry for being pessimistic but they sent us invites a while ago and the people who will get the stars for waiters are people who are top sponors... we had an option of 20000 15000 10000 5000 and 2500 and then in a little corner it said indivdual 200.00. Basically people who donate in the thousands recieve a table of 10 and the "very best seating"...geeeh what does that say... but its going to a good cause...I think all the players should rotate period...that way everyone gets a chance..or maybe they do who knows?

Excuse me while I withdraw $30,000 from my Swiss Bank account. Yikes, nevermind, I'd rather be in NLK's shoes where she gets to race PK in Tustin. Reviews please, I don't know if MK would be in the game though 'cause she's just getting back from Colorado and has midterms coming up, right?

MK has to do an exhibition today in Colorado spring, in the afternoon I think. She probably won't be back in LA until late tonight and she has classes tomorrow. There's no way she'll make it to the game tonight. But enjoy the game nonetheless, NLK! What we need is an agent in UCLA. Maybe they are getting together behind our back. :-)

I finished grading all of my mid terms :-) I'm happy but some of my students are not so happy. How do we know that MK's class notes are not filled with Mrs. Michelle Kariya, Mrs. #9, Mr. & Mrs. Danny & Estella Kwan would like to cordially invite you to the marriage of their daughter 6.0 to Mr. #9... You get the idea :-) Maybe her professors will find a suspicious looking essay in their stacks of take-home midterms that goes something like this... (I'm just using history since its what I teach. I have no idea what 6.o is actually taking.": Thomas "Mrs. Paul Kariya" Jefferson was the third president of the United States of #9 is hot. He was a supporter of the Democratic-Republican "wow, what a goal" party. He championed the independent "kiss me you fool" farmer and believed that agriculture was "Mr. and Mrs. #9" of the country. He was also responsible for the Louisiana "I should buy the Mighty Ducks so I can see #9 everyday" Purchase. Jefferson believed that the federal government should have a limited "was that an Ina Bauer I just saw?" role and was a firm supporter of states' "give me Paul Kariya or give me death" rights. Mano that skating order thing was too much. LOL!

Being the nice guy that he is Paul took his new teamate and his teammates wife and 2 little girls home after the game...Michelle would be proud. Maybe Michelle should "pretend" like her car is broken and when Paul drives by he will stop, help her then give her a ride to make sure se gets home safely all the way to UCLA that way he knows exactly where she lives and will visit her to see how her car is doing. Hmmm...just rambling sorry.

November 5th, 1999, 02:40 PM
Consider me guilty of doing that, but I never submitted them to the Profs. NLK, you are one lucky lady to get to see all the good stuff Paul does, maybe he wants to know what it feels like to have kids in the back seat. You know, I have a feeling MK must given PK "the talk," 'cause he's been looking down in the games lately...okay granted he's worried about his team not playing well but you'll never know (LOL, that's supposing they ever came that close). Michelle, upon seeing a gorgeous guy at UCLA turns to Paul and says, "Paul, we have to talk." "Uh-oh, not THE talk." "Yup, THE talk..." LOL, I don't think MK would be so cruel nor shallow. I better stop before Yingshan goes ballistic on me, heehee.

November 5th, 1999, 02:43 PM
You caught me. Yup, I'm guilty of that too. I've been putting MK's books right next to anything PK in every bookstore in the United States of America. Here's to hoping they get the hint, seeing that PK loves to spend hours at Barnes and Nobles and Michelle loves books.

Hey if she's traveling all over the country shouldn't she at least get a travel allowance or something? Maybe Imzadi will make you some Kwan Bucks. Of course, I'm not sure that they accept those at many locations? And BTW Mano, why aren't you in other countries? I'm sure they have bookstores you could be at too! LOL I think #9 must not be down but rather worried about how Michelle is doing in all of these competitions that he can't attend. How sweet. Or upset that the figure skating season has once again put Michelle in the same building as Elvis. LOL! "Really, honey, we're just friends. He was just helping me on the triple axel. So we went to a couple of hockey games together. Relax and trust me OK."

#70 sounds much more G rated at the moment. BTW Marcella, I'm still trying to see how much free flight mileage I have available to cover Europe. And totally LOL on MK's response to PK regarding Elvis. Remember, she and Elvis have now competed together at Skate America AND Skate Canada....hmmmmnnn. BTW, count me as totally bummed about finding out that MK's new training facility is the practice arena for the NHL Kings. Hey Yingshan, I remember hoping MK would train at Disney ICE. Sheesh, right sport (NHL) wrong team (should have been the Ducks.) You think she was rootin' for the Kings when the Duck's played them during the pre-season? Maybe, that's another reason why PK has been down lately...lost a loving fan, hehehe.

yingshan
November 7th, 1999, 08:38 PM
Any hunks on the Kings team? Maybe a bit rivalry can spirk more action from #9. Mano, the moment MK chose UCLA over UCI, the chance for her to practice at Disney Ice was down to nil. It's too far with S. Cal's crazy traffic. But if Kings practice there, she still has a chance of meeting some hockey players. I guess I need to pay more attention to Kings' players. I draw a blank on who's playing for Kings. Hey, a bit of competition never hurts. :-)

Ugh, can't believe I actually know a few. Luc Robitaille (married), and Ziggy Palfy (is that his name and I think hitched) are the ones I name of the top of my head. But why, Kings, ick, Sorry, Duck fan here. Quote from Kwan regarding her performance at Skate Canada compared to Skate America: "I would say last week's performance was a 9-and-a-half and this week's performance was a 6 or 7. I didn't feel that I was strong out there and I'm a little disappointed. I agree with her, that 9 and a half performance of hers also included a couple of 6.0's. Not to mention her 6 and 9 skate order for sp and lp respectively. Hmmnn...maybe she got upset that now shared ice time with the Kings and it showed in her program. She was uninspired, hehehe. BTW, MK's next performance will be in Washington...just when you thought that Olympic Hopeful from Seattle, Washington was forgotten, he rears his ugly head again. (By ugly I meant the situation, not the guy in particular, yeah that's what I meant...not that I know what that guy looks like.)

I just love the quote I found in CosmoGirl mag (see below, right). "I needed to turn off the negative voice in my head." Such powerful words and so complementary to the milestone achieved by the individual on the left. Oh so inspirational!! <img src=http://www.geocities.com:80/Tokyo/Flats/3170/abs.jpg> Heck, I'll just call the above: "ABStractionism in Navel Blue, er Navy Blue. Opus 96." Bearpaw! OH, AY, what about the contract we all signed with our blood. Remember, PK and MK names their first two boys after Wayne Paul Kariya, then Teemu Paul Kariya, and the rest gets named after us with Michelle as middle name. Example: Chemy Michelle Kariya, Magenta Michelle Kariya, Bearpaw Michelle, Littlepebbles Michelle, Kooky Michelle, Wonder Michelle, Akemi_Chan Michelle, Blizzard Michelle, NLK9 Michelle, Skatingfan Michelle, Annabelle Michelle, Yingshan Michelle, mano Michelle, Imzadi Michelle, Shallah Michelle, etc... Mano, since both Ying Shan and Michelle are her name, her daughter would have been jr. :-) No scouting report on Kings' players yet? There's an article on Audette, left wing of Kings in LA Times a couple of days ago. He's quite good looking but probably a bit too old for Michelle. Not sure his age, but the article said he's been playing in the NHL for 9 years. He's probably around 30.
