This is an introduction to my favorite hang out on the web. Since I am not the most creative type, I stole this introduction from Littlepebbles on the last thread. I don't know how to post images so someone will have to post the pics of PK and our mascot. For first time visitors WELCOME. This is 100% fan fiction. Fan fictioners agree to start a new chapter whenever the thread grows to 80 messages long. We also agree to never discuss this fan fiction material outside of Fan Fiction Land, i.e. we do not post any of this in rssif, FSW, or other threads in this MK forum etc. [Or the PK Forum] Fan fictioners are in the process of producing a play on MK and PK - Paul Kariya the captain of Mighty Ducks. The genius writer is Mano, contributing writers are Kooky, Yingshan (who is also the set designer), Wonder, A-Chan, and Littlepebbles. Chemy is the photographer. Magenta is the ultimate matchmaker, and the rest are managers of this co. I come here just to chill out. Sometimes we refer to MK as 6.0 b/c of the unprecedented # of perfect 6.0s she earned, and PK as #9, he wears #9.

Hello! Sorry I've been visiting infrequently but its the beginning of the semester where I teach and I just got another class added to my schedule. Not that I'm complaining because it means more money :-) Chemy: The pictures are great. They remind me of the shows like Bewitched where the witch could freeze characters while they talked to someone else. Below is my interpretation of "the stare" just for fun and not to interfere with Mano's version. Can you make a cow on ice skates if I say pretty please? Yingshan: The cow is meant to honor you and so that it might look more appealing than me if you get hungry after dining on Mano and the others :-) The Mighty Duck players looked anxious as they gathered on the ice to begin practice. The team had recently been sold to an unknown buyer and they were about to discover the identity of their new boss. Suddenly, an unexpected figure glided onto the ice and smiled. The startled players caught their breath and mumbled hello in return. All that is except for one. #9 skated over to the new arrival and stopped a few feet from her. Their eyes locked. He stared at her in confusion and thought he saw a blush creeping over her delicate features. "Men, I would like you to meet your new owner." The stare intensified. They slowly circled each other. He seemed to be challenging her with his eyes and she wasn't one to back down. He thought he heard a whisper and a few nervous chuckles from the men behind him. He turned in time to catch a wink, a nudge, and a quick smile travel between two friends. Now he felt the blush come over his chiseled features and he backed away to join his teammates. A nervous welcome broke the deafening silence and everybody breathed a sigh of relief. They shook hands with the young figure skater and her agent and resumed their positions. Practice was finally able to begin. ****** #9 skated off the ice and headed for the locker room when he noticed her leaning against the wall, staring intently in his direction. She smiled, caught in the act. #9: "Would you like to explain what you think you are doing here?" he demanded. 6.0: "Shouldn't you be on your knees when you say that?" she shot back. #9: "Isn't it a little early in our relationship? 6.0: "I meant both knees!" #9: "Yes, sir. But you still haven't answered my question, sir. I thought you wanted to keep our relationship secret?" 6.0: "Can't a fan buy a hockey team without it having deeper implications? I'm just investing in my future. Besides, I didn't think players frequently engaged their new owners in staring contests on the first day either." #9: "Well I wasn't the one with the red face! So this is how its going to be?" 6.0: "It looks that way. Besides, I remember your face being as red as Marcella's hair." (HA HA I just wanted to be in there somewhere) She could no longer contain the smile that she had been holding back since the moment she had stepped into the building. He handed her a pair of sweat pants that he had been carrying. "I guess that I won't be needing these anymore, eh?" 6.0: "Isn't there somwhere around here where we can be alone?" anybody...

I'm nuturing a cold so I won't stay long. Just want to let you know, there's an article on PK in today's LA Times. It's in the Pucin column, which probably appears in Orange County edition only. Nothing really new or ground shaking. Pucin's writing is usually very sappy. You can tell I don't like her writing that much. Her style is the very stereotypical so-called women interest, or human interest or local interest angle. She wrote nothing but NNN during '98 Nationals, one before, one during and one after. Yes, NNN is a local kid, but there were other skaters from S. Cal. besides her. I don't think she warranted "exclusive" coverage. For those who complained Brennan wrote too much about Michelle, they should take a look at Pucin. :-) Now I'm going back to bed...

Sorry long time no post!!! Absolutely apologize but I've not been posting much anywhere in the figure skating boards or anywhere else of late. I've just been an observer, but I will post something when justice has not been served at FSW or MKF skate chat. But I've also been bogged with overtime from my work this week will be no different 'cause I'll be working practically 9am to 9pm again plus throw in a Saturday morn. Thus, no creativity going through my veins 'cause of all the politics goin' on at work. Saps you dry, it does. Glad to see Hockey season has started, but bummed it's not televised yet so we can't see MK in the crowd. Sheesh, I do hope she attends one of the games and ESPN will interview her one of these days. Just want to know what makes her want to watch the game...okay, so we have an idea why, but the rest of the world has got to have a chance to know why. Thanks to Marcella for her wonderful story. Shows us why great minds think alike (GMTA as littlepebbles would say). Wouldn't it be cool if MK did buy the Ducks, LOL, that would be a trip. As for me being out, I vote on Bearpaw (full of talent you are) to do a TBC too like Marcella. H*ck, everyone should have a hand on it. Mine is still stuck in my head somewhere. One of these days I'll type it up. But in the meantime, Bearpaw has got a romantic story up her sleeve somewhere. It is nice to know that Mk is skating to R&J, but which one. Tcaikovsky, Prokofiev or the modern version. Michelle does not come across as a Juliet to me. I hope she is skating to the more abstract part of R&J, the theme of undying love or whatever.

Just when the hockey season is about to start on October 2, we wonder what affect this will have on the Mighty Ducks and what changes Ms. Kwan has in store. Michelle and Karen besides being sisters are best friends, so of course something as innocent as testing a computer game would include good natured laughter, jokes and lots of free thought. Karen said, “Whoa! Hold on! It was just a fantasy! A joke! We’ll talk more when I get home. For now just hold tight sis!” Michelle couldn’t wait though. She had to talk to PK about this, so she picked up the phone and dialed his cell phone number. Only it wasn't PK on the other end! TBC ...

Great continuation. I can't wait for the rest of the story, more please or rather who's next? Thanks for appeasing the great Yingshan, (who I hope is feeling much better, remember to take Echinacea and call me in the morning). Wonder, old Paulie boy hasn't been readin' up on Shakespeare. He borrowed a couple of plays and mistook Julius Caesar for Romeo and Juliet (you know, Rome and Julius, hahahaha...found out too late he was supposed to get the tragic romance and so he didn't memorize all the lines). Actually, I'm letting PK off the hook 'cause he's a smart guy and say I forgot the balcony scene speech by Romeo, so thus I had to improvise PK's line with Caesar turning to Brutus after being stabbed, "Etu Brute?" Or And you too, Brutus? (I think that's the translation). That or he was awestruck by MK's beauty and forgot his lines (thus the "dagnabit" expletive). Then he reverts to his Japanese roots and says "sumimasen" for excuse me (I think, Blizzard, verify please) and went to get the script. That's why I asked people if they got Romeo and Juliet or even the Cliff Note's version of it so we can replay the balcony scene with our star players. That was so beautiful Blizzard, the quote I mean. Actually, the Japanese was pretty cool too. To answer your question...sadly no. I know English and Tagalog (Philippine language) pretty well (can't write it well diba Kooky, Chemy?) and a smattering (un poquito...muy muy poquito (very very little) Spanish. But I would love to learn Japanese 'cause I seem to like watching a lot of the Anime in the original Japanese version (sounds better) and well my fave hockey player is half Japanese (who I hope will get romantic moments with MK). And well if I meet a Japanese man that looks like "fatal lightning" you know I'm sold. hehehe. I did borrow a "Getting by in Japanese" book from my brother who used to visit Tokyo when their ship (he's in the Navy) stopped in Japan way back in the day. I know only a few words off the top of my head but wouldn't be able to put them together in a sentence that makes sense. Time for me to get a jisho (dictionary?), right? I was absent for a couple days and you guys chatted up a storm. I'm feeling much better now, still taking antibiotics though. Thanks for everyone's concern. It's been a tough week for me. I've been preoccupied with Taiwan's earthquake (Anyone interested can check out my post in rssif. I won't repeat it here, otherwise Jenny may throw me out :-)). Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jenny! And welcome back too! That article made my day! Magenta was right. It's game #3. Michelle went to another NHL Final game where MDs were not in. That doesn't count. Hey, PK didn't play in that game so he could leave quickly after the game (no shower, no press conference). Wonder where he's gone afterwards... :-) So I guess we need to look out for MDs' games in Staple Center! That's where MK will most likely to show up. Besides "who's your favorite hockey player", you guys should add: "Are you dating anyone special?" I have a function that night. I won't be able to check in the chat. Thanks for continuing my story Bearpaw :-) Two thumbs up. I loved the Sports Center announcement! Could the Romeo and Juliet part be that owners are not supposed to mingle with players (business with pleasure and all that). I think the unrequited love bit will suit Michelle well after seeing "One More Time." So what are the coed visitational policies at those UCLA dorms anyway? Hope she doesn't get to experience what I experienced (namely fire alarms being pulled by the drunks at least five times every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights). Of course that's what I get for going to a "party school." Could interrupt some pleasant daydreams of a certain young woman they could! What are the directions to KwanLand just in case some Kwanbucks are thrown my way (not that I am expecting, begging, or groveling mind you.) OK I am groveling! Does it involve silver slippers and chanting "There's no place like Kwan. There's no place like Kwan."

Thanks for asking. My sister and her family are fine. She called my mom from her cell phone right after the earthquake. I had some anxious moments before I found out their condition. But it's still a tough week for me for all the sentimental reasons. Taipei is my hometown, afterall.

MarcellaMichelle - I was wondering what the policies were like too? Oh well, Michelle wanted the true college experience and that is all part of it! long time no post! its great to have everyone back and buzzing since ice skating and hockey season are just about to start. fall usually is busy, busy, busy, busy! its been a while since i posted myself. i know i haven't done my part in digging up dish on #9 but i've been too busy moving in and starting a new job and starting grad school etc etc etc.... they updated pk's bio @ mightyducks.com... includes some stuff he did over the summer... pk isn't going to play in any preseason games so we wont get to see him in action until oct 2 when the reg. season starts. he will travel with the team for the end of the pre season but just won't play.... he's been working out off the ice and will return to the ice soon.... thats it for now.... right now im working on what hes doing on oct 16th and if he'll be on the road...

Hey: Don't forget guys that if you go the MK Fan Chat thread entitled what if MK posts here under a different name you will see that Mano has admitted that she is really Michelle Kwan. Since she is a strong supporter of the BFFF then she must really love #9 right? Of course, she could just be claiming to be Michelle so that she won't end up crispy! Michelle stepped off the plane in California expecting #9 to be waiting with open arms. She was surprised to see Karen's smiling face. "What are you doing here?" Karen handed her a single rose. "Paul got tied up in practice and couldn't make it. He's very sorry and he can't wait to see you," she announced teasingly. At that moment a man came up to Michelle and offered her a single rose. She turned to thank what she thought was a fan when he announced that it was from Paul. She was quickly surrounded by people handing her roses from Paul. Soon she could barely carry them. Suddenly he was there with a huge bouquet of red roses and a small velvet box. Her eyes teared up when she saw him go down on one knee. "Michelle Kwan, Will you marry me?" (I ripped this off from TLC's A Wedding Story because it was so romantic. Some lucky girl actually had this happen to her! Before I start though - Way cool picture Chemy! Now for the main event. I hope you like it. A female voice on the other end of the phone said, "Bonjour?" Michelle looked at the LCD on the phone and grinned. She had dialed a wrong number! Michelle said, "Sorry, wrong number." and hung up the phone. She was thinking to herself,"The long program at the '98 olympics had less stress then this!" Just then her phone rang. Michelle : "Hello" #9 : Hello, Michelle? How are you? Michelle : "You wouldn't believe it if I told you! I had the craziest daydream and I want to tell you all about it. Lets meet at the gym after dinner, work out, and then go somewhere and relax." #9 : "Sounds good 6! But how about I pick you up at 8:00." Michelle : "I miss you. Can't wait to see you!" #9 : "Me too my ice angel, me too." Michelle could hardly make it through dinner with her family. After listening to several - "Be wise, be careful, ...", Michelle and PK traveled to the gym. Michelle kept the conversation light. At the gym, they mostly kept to themselves. Towards the end though, Michelle went over to PK and said with laughter and a bit of sexiness in her voice said, "So mister, do you have a name to go with all of those rippling pectorals!" (OK, so its a corny line from the disney movie Hercules, but I couldn't resist! I have been trying to find a way to get this line in since the first posting of PK's picture.) PK laughed. Put down the weight he was working on, picked her up and swung her around. PK said, "I don't know, sometimes I forget everything when I look into those eyes." 6.0 responded, "Ah, how sweet!" Just then the weight room started to get crowded so MK said, "Lets go get cleaned up and continue this in a more private setting." They left the gym and went to a quiet restaurant where they could have some coffee/tea and relax. MK told PK about the day dream she had. 6.0 ended with, "Look I know that we agreed that this would not be so serious, but all I am doing is thinking about you. The more I am around you, the more I like you, until, well, I think I'm falling for you." PK looked at her when she finished telling him this story. He was completely stunned to speechlessness, but he had been feeling the same way! He didn't answer her, just looked into her eyes and kissed her. TBC ... For those of you who get the oc register...today there was a special nhl section and there was this HUGE article about PK. it even had some good pictures of him that we might be able to use (if only i had a scanner) hee hee hee....but it also told alittle about his LOVE LIFE! but good news! it says he doen't have anyone....here's a quote that caught my eye..."It's hard to think about getting married now. But if a nice girl falls in my lap..." yes, that was PK speaking! there are 3 pics in the paper...one main one that has him lounging on a couch and smiling in his uniform and with a hockey stick in front of a tv. There's also one of him reading a fan letter and one of him on the phone smiling (in my opinion, i think it's MK). just thought i'l inform you guys...

Oh I knew I should have paid attention to that ABC Disney Sunday movie when I saw the Duck shirt featured 'cause Mr. PK might show up, but I paid it no mind figuring what's the chance. Hey did you guys remember a couple of months ago on an MK article or interview she did for Blades probably and they asked if she liked Ricky Martin and she said no. Don't you just love the fact that we made Mr. Teemu Selanne, the Finnish Flash (he hasn't been flashy lately, wake up and score man, and I mean put the puck in the back of the net!!!) where was I, just ranting there. I'm going to be mean here and say that Detroit is really a mediocre team during the playoffs last season, but the Ducks made them look good just as they made the Cayotes look real good on Tuesday (and I taped the game too...actually I was jumpin' between watchin' the Mets beat the D'backs and the Ducks lose so I came out even.) Actually, got to hand it to the Cayotes for having a swarming offense reminiscent of Detroit and they got their Defense into it. More rant...as for the Ducks, somebody mispelled their name last night 'cause they were playing without the "D" for defense, corny but it's the truth. So the "ucks" just played flatfooted and lifeless out there. I'll give them a couple of games to gel with Kariya back, but not at full speed yet. As for this Friday home opener at Anaheim, Paul and Teemu, wear protective armor 'cause the Stars will be out for revenge for Modano. I've been praying God put a hedge of protection over these guys, sigh. If anything happens and MK is there we might see her suit up and make Paul's words ring true. He did say she'll make a good defensive checker (which is something the Ducks are sorely lacking right now, go figure!!!) BTW, January 16 is my Birthday of-course, thanks for marking that special holiday Yingshan. So you guys can just send your presents and monetary gifts to...I'll email you the address, LOL!!! a happy camper 'cause the Mets won against the D-backs 9-2 and the Ducks finally scored and shut out the Stars. Let me just say that superSTAR injured player Mike Modano's got real class for telling his team to keep the peace instead of wreaking revenge against the Ducks (something Dallas Stars coach wanted). Everybody ended the game in one piece, thank God and yes I really prayed to God to put a hedge of protection over the Duck players (specially PK, TS) 'cause all I read all week were doom and gloom for the Ducks. Glad both teams played the game instead of copping WWF Smackdown or something. BTW, nifty move PK made to get away from Stars center (I think) Darien the Jawbreaker Hatcher (Jawbreaker for that nasty hit he gave Cayotes star Jeremy Roenick at the end of last season, crushing his head to the boards and Roenick ended up with a broken jaw, in three places, yikes). Anywho, PK been taking pointers from MK or what 'cause that move was like agua, smooth. Thanks to ESPN and FoxNews for the hi-lights, wish it was televised here. So nobody spied MK in the crowds when the camera panned? Oh, NLK, reviews please, thanks!!!

Sorry I got home so late to bring you all the news. I looked everywhere...and I mean everywhere...no spot on MK during the game(which was awesome!) so exciting and had a happy ending. Anyhow I was out by where the players leave trying to see if any girls (MK or others) were with Paul and to my utter amazement (and dread) there was a girl with Paul... I couldn't figure out if it was MK or not. she was asian and had black short hair..( i am not aware of how Michelle looks right now... I was going nuts, I asked my friend if that was Michelle. She said maybe.. we couldn't tell..( to be completely honest I was upset that he was with a girl MK or not,I have a crush on him too heheh) But anyways Paul stopped to sign autographs and I pushed my way through the crowd and went up to Paul and asked who the girl was in his car...he said and I quote :) "It is my sister Michiko..you don't have to worry." I melted :) I also told him that I lived in Lake Arrowhead for awhile (My late father lived there and he said he heard that some of the mighty ducks went up to train there) and I asked him if he ever went up there and he said he had been there a few times, he liked it a lot...so maybe it was for Michelle...I dont know..I didn't want to come right out and ask about MK... so did I do okay for being your "spy"?.. :) I tried my hardest...I'll be at the game on Monday also...is MK off that day too??

I don't think she'll drive down from LA to Anaheim during those days. I guess we have to check future games between MDs and Kings to see her. We need to recruit a spy for Kings' games and come up with a list of questions for MK OR PK. :-) Mano, what do you mean that they are on to us? Who's "they"? You meant PK and MK? If they do, I hope they have a good laugh at us (preferred together). You're correct at that eye strain and stiff neck isn't covered, otherwise I'd claim short-term disability after June's Angels game and COI show. :-)

Since I have MDs' schedule on hand, these are dates when MDs will be at LA: 2/8/00, 3/21/00 and 4/1/00. Darn, that's it. Only three games! And we know she'll be in Nice for the Worlds on 4/1/00. She probably will be too busy practicing for the Worlds on 3/21. Plus, both 2/8 and 3/21 are Tuesday. She has classes. We may not see her at all! Oh, well, I guess we can only hope they have contacts outside of games. The other possible games she may show are Friday or Sunday games at Pond. The next ones are 10/24 and 11/19. She'll be too busy between late October and early November with Skate America and Skate Canada. NLK, those are games you need to keep your eyes open for if you're going. :-) Chemy, good thing you still remember our "deal". cough, cough, cough...

Also Mon is Colombus Day or whatever the games at 4 so maybe she gets out of school early or maybe UCLA will observe it. hmmm

'cause they knew our handy dandy sleuth was going to be on hand eyes on the ready, neck well excercised, and ears peeled to any thing MK/PK. She probably was in one of the box seats hidden away from prying eyes, happily cheering on the Ducks and her man. Then PK brought a decoy to throw off everybody. He drives away with his sister while the crowd watches. A few blocks later, PK applies the old switcheroo. He stops the car, his sister gets off and goes in another car (Lexus SUV) and drives away. Michelle enters PK's nice red Lexus and the couple give each other a high five and few kisses and drives away...PK didn't lie to NLK about visiting Arrowhead, in fact he was heading there that night to drop off a precious package, none other than our girl MK. Those two lovebirds, tried to fool us they did. MK not in the first game of her fave team, the Mighty Ducks? Interesting...maybe she switched allegiances, since the Kings are closer...but then again, MK used to drive from Lake Arrowhead (2 hour drive Yingshan?) just to see the Ducks, how far off is UCLA campus from the Pond. Yeah, but she probably went home early on Thursday to Lake Arrowhead and is training hard this whole weekend in preparation for the Masters next week (it is next week, right?). Bad timing Ducks. Argh, can't wait until the first televised home game for the Ducks. The LA Kings, yuck, hope not; though they do have a better record than the Ducks right now. Final Words...METS win, METS win!!! Bring on the Braves baby!!!

NLK9, you are brave. Serious, fan fictioners, with Magenta sending HOC to PK, and NLK9 asking about Lake Arrowhead, will #9 ever get a real clue. I will try give you a report about the game after 10/19 MD v CAPs at MCI center. I don't think MK will be there. Sure wish that MK will come to the east coast for grad school, law school or med school some day. know I will not push to get PK's autograph for sure, I haven't done that for Mk on COIs yet.
