Welcome Everyone! Seeing that Boyfriends XV was getting rather long, I thought I should start a new thread. Will someone do the honors to post our mascot and banners?

Where is everyone? Everyone played hooky while I was away? I just checked the mouse traps and found one misbehaving mouse named Chemy. Hmm.....what's the proper punishment? Should I boil it or fry it? I had such a wonderful vacation! Experiencing so many different things across California that I haven't experienced before. I feel *I* can write a novel now. :-) Anyone from Taiwan who knows a famous signer called Lee Jian Fu? The guy who sang "The Dragon's Descendants"? I ran into him in a Palo Alto hotel. I thought him looked familiar but couldn't remember his name. Since we're the only two in the court yard (I was having breakfast and reading newspaper and he's just having coffee), I asked him. He told me. He's quite friendly. He looked exactly the same as his picture more than 10 years ago but gained some weight. He no longer sings. He said he lives in Taiwan and is in internet business (everyone's in internet business these days) and was there on a business trip. I told him I used to be his fan (while I was in high school). We chatted several minutes and parted ways. What a small world! Mano, I notice you put the Red Violin poster underneath your name. Did you see the movie? How do you think of it? I posted my review. I'm interested in hearing your comments.

Now we know how important the director is ... Off topic, I don't know about Lee, but I know the song, "The Dragon's Descendants", if we talk about the same song. "There are a group of people in the remote east, they are the descendants of the dragon"? I think Hou De-jian is the composer. The guy who left Taiwan for mainland. He was detained after "June 4" and then went back to Taiwan (I think).

We missed you, can't you tell. Out of respect for you not being here, we haven't posted a thing, ha ha. It's dry season so we're all stuck in a rut sort of, least I am. Nope I haven't seen the Red Violin though I am trying to make time to see it one of these days. I'll post my reviews once that happens. I used the TRV poster 'cause I really loved MK's program the first time I saw it and can't wait to see the finished product once the FS season starts. BTW, do you know if the Ducks ever featured a figure skater during intermissions at all. I remember the Rangers once had Sarah Hughes as a guest skater around two years ago before she even was heard of in the National scene. Just always pictured MK skating before a hockey crowd in a pre-season game. Imagine this upcoming pre-season, the Ducks vs. Phoenix at Anaheim. There is 7 minutes left to the intermission and the Zamboni is making it's last lap around the Pond. Without much pomp or circumstance, a figure, in black leotard with slashes of sheer red swirls, emerges from the Duck's empty bench. She follows the Zamboni around in a dance almost like a Swan following a clumsy tugboat. The crowd slowly realizes who is skating and is entranced by the comical scene. Shouts of "Michelle" is suddenly heard. The figure acknowledges the shouts with a smile and a wave, but continues skating around the ice. She is unaware that players and coaches from both the Ducks and the Cayotes decided to cut their meetings short to watch her, this storied champion who's touched so many lives with her courage, character, and her selfless skating. They say she gives of herself to one and all when she's on the ice. They say she bears her soul. They wanted to find out for themselves, firsthand, what the fuss is all about. They found out soon enough. The lights dim, the crowd settles and the figure skates slowly to the middle of the rink. No introduction is needed because her presence is felt by everyone from the players' benches all the way up to the nose-bleed section. All eyes were upon her. The music starts, a haunting voice followed by strains of violin wafts through the now quiet arena as the figure begins in a spiral. The spell is cast. "It was so quiet I know I heard pin drop." Jeremy Roenick of the Phoenix Cayotes said after Michelle's performance. The rest of his teammates agreed. They as well as the Ducks joined in the long standing ovation that erupted after her performance. The Ducks remembered seeing her skate her short program, Fate of Carmen, back in January at the Pond. This was the first time they saw a full fledged long program complete with seven triples (including two triple/triple combos and a high double axle with a long exit) performed so perfectly with mesmerizing artistry, live. (BTW, the Ducks are more familiar with figure skating elements ever since their Captain started dating the Swan.) Go Figure. Other notable news: Paul Kariya was the first out on the ice to greet Michelle Kwan. As expected, catcalls and whistles as well as declarations of "Michelle, dump Paul and marry me!!!" were heard around the Arena. Sports Illustrated captured the blushing couple perfectly and featured the pic under a caption "King and Queen of the Ice." (BTW, Teemu Selanne's hand managed to get into the pic) Not to be outdone, other Phoenix and Ducks players tried to impress Michelle Kwan by attempting figure skating moves. It was reported that Tkatchuk of the Cayotes and Rooch of the Ducks had great extension on their spirals. For Imzadi, Hockey fans and players have dubbed Michelle in her skintight suit as "Six of Nine" in honor of her 6.0's, and the fact that #9 Paul Kariya is her man. They compared her to Star Trek's Seven of Nine because of how her great bod was emphasized by her leotard (much to the dismay of a suddenly possesive Paul Kariya who had to grin and bear it throughout her performance. It could have been worse since she could have worn her red velvet costume from the World's gala which Michelle playfully suggested to him earlier.) A small group of people were spotted picketing outside the Pond with signs that read "Ban the Red Violin costume." They were quietly led away by police. Both teams gathered around Michelle Kwan for pictures and to present a check for local charities. Sportswriters noted that the Ducks and Cayotes game was one of the more exciting and well played games they've seen in a while. Both teams exhibited great plays with interesting moves, passes and shots. The teams credited Michelle Kwan's influence in their playmaking. Paul Kariya's stats include 3 goals (a hat trick), 2 assists and two minutes in the penalty box for punching a Cayote for getting too close to Michelle Kwan earlier when the pictures were being taken. Final Box score, Ducks win 5-3 over Phoenix. ESPN's Sportcenter, Dan Patrick says "We leave you with Michelle Kwan performing her Long Program 'the Red Violin' from Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim. Last but not least, the above is totally fictional. The Ducks will be meeting Phoenix for a pre-season game at the Pond, that's the only thing that is real. The other stuff is just wishful thinking as usual.

We missed you! It was not hard to keep this house in order, thanks for setting those mousetraps. As to the mouse named Chemy, she is the naughtiest of all. I suggest you boil her first and then fry her. “Crispy Pata” a famous Filipino dish is delicious! Mano, what a great movie you made! Thanks for inviting me to watch the preview of the movie before editing. I get to see the different scenes before everyone else. When are we going to see the continuation of the epic saga? Kooky, since the security guard stopped me from taking more picture of Michelle, the 36 shots roll of film is still not used up. I will need to finish up the roll of film quick and get it develop. I will surely share with you all if it turn out nice.

Mano, you seem to be out of the rut. Now, I expect more product delivery within a week! :-) Michelle has started summer school. It's highly unlikely for her to do an exhibition during the intermission. Since it's not for a charity cause, the Ducks probably are not willing to pay her at her regular appearance fee. But it's good for a hearty laugh. :-) Mano, yeah, that's the song. That song made both Lee and Ho. Lee was in college at the time, only 19 or so. He went on singing for many years, while in college and millitary service, but none of his other songs was as famous as "The Dragon's Descendants". He has a beautiful voice. Lee's father was a deputy minister of Taiwan. Hence, he's considered well-born and had a very clean image. Ho's was tarnished after he "defected" to mainland. I was a big fan of Lee's in high school. It's funny to meet him so many years later in a place so far away from Taipei.

Hope your vacation was good. Hey!! I'm the director!!! Yingshan is the producer. Bad Wonder! Bad Wonder! j/k hee hee hee Wow Mano! Does this mean you're out of your rut? Maybe you can help me with mine. (G, okay? Maybe PG at the most.) That story was hilarious. Now Crispy Pata, I mean, Chemy, you have to get out of your rut and get back in the lab.

Let's negotiate, FatCat er Yingshan. Back to my normal nonexistent-wage 12-h workday, re-wear my ball&chain fashion accessory, and post 1 to 2 pics per week with a smile on my face. (BTW, I love my sweatshop, er photolab). All these for NO "crispy pata." Deal? Mano, what's this "Edit" option? I can edit my post and I found that out when Yingshan came back? (BTW, welcome back YS). One more thing, Mano: "Paul Kariya's stats include 3 goals (a hat trick), 2 assists and two minutes in the penalty box for punching a Cayote for getting too close to Michelle Kwan earlier when the pictures were being taken." Now does that disqualify PK from Lady Byng troph?

Chemy, LOL!!! Littlepebble, I see ... the director is the one who needs a whip behind her not the producer. ;) Yingshan, Ho "defected" to mainland? Hehehe, maybe at that time. I think the guy is an idealist. I saw the Red Violin. Like it, but at some point the music is a little bit too high and sharp to me. I guess the music is trying to portrait the turbulence. Overall, a wonderful movie. BTW, I don't know how to comment on the brief scene of culture revolution since I was born after that. The closest experience I had similar to that was the '89 student movement. I was a college student in Beijing at that time and felt very excited. My parents tried really hard to talk me out because the lawless scene a few weeks before the tragic crackdown reminded them a lot of culture revolution: a society in chaos.

Change the output to 4 pictures a week, then we have a deal. :-) I just got another tidbit on PK. My co-worker who lives in his neighborhood saw him last week on street. He's driving a burgendy '86 Lexus with gold license plate. She told her daughter to make a wild turn so they could pull alongside of his car. :-) She said that's the first time she got a good look of him and she said he's soooo cute. She also said he lives in a condo. We both wonder what he's doing in a condo and an old Lexus with his paycheck. He can afford a much bigger house and a newer car. He really lives modestly. I guess I'll pay special attention to condos in Tustin area when I'm house-hunting in a year or two. :-) Thanks for all the welcome-backs!

i know that he has a house cause he said that his sister help design and decorate his house. but that '86 lexus is still boggles me. i knew he had a red lexus but i really didn't expect '86 more like '96. i guess he just likes the simple life.

July 26th, 1999, 10:55 PM
During an offseason? (Narrator: Chemy suddenly collapsed on the floor, convulsing from the shock as she uttered "4 pix, 4 pix." Just as suddenly, she recovered). NO problem, Yingshan :-). 1986? Lexus didn't exist then. Must be 1996, when the world and a Duck (mightiest of them all) witnessed the Greatest FS SP & LP in history. Yes, in the Duck's garage sits a '96 Romanza Red Lexus. Hmmm, a condo? How far is the condo from UCLA campus? Paging Imzadi.

Marcella
July 27th, 1999, 04:01 AM
Is that Romanza Red or Red Violin Red? I think you could do a whole line of MK cars in Salome Blue with Gold trim, Lyra Angelica Blue with a 6.0 engine, Rachmaninoff Two-tone Red and Cream, Ariane Purple (not to be confused with Dream of Desdemona Purple), Fate of Carmen Black, East of Eden White, One More Time Cream, Taj Mahal Garnet with Gold trim. And for Mary Kay salespeople: Rondo Capriccioso Pink :-) I will put my order in for a 1999 Ford Mustang in Dante's Prayer Blue please!

Yes, 4 pix a week. Blizzard, that's me. The same co-worker who lives in PK's neighborhood saw him running by one time and he's polite enough to say "Good morning". She not only lives in his neighborhood, her daughter's co-worker is a friend of PK's. That's where she got the info on the Lexus. They spotted the burgendy Lexus with gold trim first and started staring since they heard PK's car is a burgendy (not Romanza red :-))Lexus with gold trim. annabelle, it's a condo. In conversation, it's common for people to say "my house" even though they're not living in a single family home. Lexus didn't exist in '86? That must be a '96 then. LOL. Marcella, hate to correct you. But being a designer, I'm a tab strick on the colors. :-) It's Salome purple, Ariane levender, Taj Maha magenta and Red Violin rust. I personally like a Jaguar in the Disney swing dance scarlet red. :-)

Marcella
July 27th, 1999, 12:02 PM
Ohh I forgot about that lovely shade of red :-) Please don't rat me out to the fashion police! I would hate to see what my punishment would be. LOL Was it a Lexus that Michelle's parents got her? Does this mean that they both drive them now? Does that mean that they will have license plates that say his and hers? Or 9ismine and 6.0 Rulz?

Since these photos were taken last year, I refuse to believe anything romantic occurred between them as nothing else has surfaced since then. I knew that article was going to stir up some action in this board. Now you all know how I felt last year when I first read that article. The worst thing was that I had no support group like I do now with you guys here at BFFF so I was inconsolable. No one to share my grief with 'cause my friends would all just give me strange looks (they still do everytime I start the PK/MK stuff). I'm so glad we now have MKF BFFF to share good times and bubble bursting times (which I hope won't ever happen). BTW, the hand belongs to Anu's boyfriend who was conveniently chopped off the pic according to the people who knew about the hoax. Chemy, great pics, especially the "erasable" Anu. I really could have used that last year. You are working overtime too. Make sure Yingshan compensates you for that.

That hand on Anu's waist is definitely not Paul's. Unless he has the special ability to twist his arm, rotating the ulna and radius just so he can put his hand on Anu. I bet those pictures aren't real and even if they are, we didn't see the whole photo.

Thanks to Mano and Shallah for helping me with some details. June 25, 1999, about 9am, Toronto, Canada Paul Kariya got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up. He was still really tired from the NHL Awards the previous night. There was a knock at the door. Paul opened it. "Room service!" the guy outside the door said cheerfully. Paul thanked him and gave him a tip. He was sipping his coffee when, ring, ring the phone rang. Still, a little sleepy, he picked up the phone. "(yawn) Hello?" "Hi! I like your bedroom voice," a familiar voice teased, laughing. "Michelle! Are you calling from your vacation?" Michelle Kwan smiled. "Yep. I'm using my calling card. I watched the awards last night. Congratulations on making the All Star team! And you presented that award really well--" "Thanks--" "--But, my favorite part was seeing you with Teemu's baby. It was so cute!" Paul was taking another sip of coffee and when he heard Michelle's comment, he suddenly choked on his coffee and spit it out. "Paul, are you okay?" Michelle asked concernedly as Paul coughed. "Yeah, (cough, cough) my coffee just went down the wrong pipe. (cough)" Michelle smiled. She knew what had really happened, but she decided not to push the issue. [She had reminded him of little crystals, if you're curious.] "So, how is your vacation going?" "It's great! Very relaxing. I think I'll be all ready for summer school and choreographing my new programs with Frank and Lori." "That's good," Paul said. "Remember when I said we can do something together after we both get home? Well, I thought of something, but I want it to be a surprise for your birthday in a couple weeks." "Oh my god, really? What is it?" Paul shook his head. "Nope, it's a surprise! "Just a teeny tiny hint?" Michelle pleaded. "Nope." "O-kay," Michelle pouted a little. Then she brightened up a little. "Well, whatever it is, I can't wait." Paul smiled. "Me either." "Well," Michelle said, and sighed. "I guess I'll go now. I don't want to run my bill too high and I have to start packing to go back home in a couple of days." Paul said, "All right, I'll see you when I get back. Bye." Michelle said, "Bye". But neither of them hung up the phone for about a minute.... LAX, A few days later Paul got off of his red eye flight and made his way to the luggage claim. There weren't many people around since it was in the early morning hours. He went to claim his things, but to his surprise, he saw that they had already been claimed. A familiar figure was sitting on one of his suitcases. Paul stopped dead in his tracks. Michelle, wearing a casual short black dress, smiled and stood up. "So, are you surprised?" Paul didn't say anything, he just dropped his carry on bag on the floor, walked up to Michelle and took her in his arms and gave her a big kiss, right in front of everyone (which was really just a few people). "Yeah, you could say that," he said after releasing her. He grinned at his own understatement. Michelle laughed. "Okay, I guess we better carry your stuff to the limo I rented." "What is it with us and limos?" Paul joked. "I can get someone to carry my bags, and I'll carry the extra luggage." "What extra luggage?" Michelle asked as she looked around in confusion. Paul scooped her up in his arms. Michelle let out a scream of surprise and then laughed. The few people sitting near smiled and left them alone. Michelle smiled at Paul and said, "So, what do you say we stop somewhere for an early breakfast?" A while later... Michelle and Paul had a good breakfast with Belgian waffles, which is Michelle's favorite, and some fruit, and orange juice. By the way, the waiter thought Michelle was cute, but he wasn't in the mood to tangle with Paul so he kept his distance. And Michelle paid as little attention to him as possible, remembering what had happened with Elvis Stojko in Detroit. :o) After they had eaten, Paul said, "I brought something back for you." "Really?" said Michelle. "How sweet!" "I'll be right back, I left my bag in the limo. After he had run out to the limo and returned with the bag, he slid into the booth and Michelle smiled expectantly. Paul reached into the bag and pulled out a box. He handed it to Michelle. "I was going to wrap it when I got home," he said. "But since we got together sooner than I expected, this is a good time as any." Michelle opened the box and pulled out a lot of tissue paper, and then a beautiful crystal figure skater sun catcher. She gasped. "Oh, this is so beautiful," she breathed softly. "I'm glad you like it," said Paul. "It reminded me of you." Michelle laughed. "Of course it did, it's a figure skater!" Paul smiled but continued, "Yeah, but look how it shines when the light hits it. It's luminescent, just like you." Michelle smiled and look a little teary, but Paul wasn't finished. He pulled out another sun catcher identical to the one he had given Michelle. "I got another one for myself," he said. "I thought that we could hang them up at each of our houses and when we saw them, it would remind us of each other." Michelle felt her heart melt. It seemed that she always fell for Paul a little more every time she even talked to him. Without realizing it, she leaned across the table toward him. "Thank you," she whispered. Paul leaned over from the other side. "You're very welcome," he whispered back, as his face was just a few inches from hers, and smiled. They closed the last few inches between them and kissed. From across the room, near the kitchen, the guy who had been their waiter watched the young couple in love. He looked at Paul and muttered, "That lucky dog." The End

Reading your story had me musing over MK fan fictioners' dearest wish for our young couple! (Sigh) Here's hoping that one day we'll hear of the true romance between MK and PK! I just looove the creative juices that flow through here :) Hey, annabelle - I didn't know that Tiger was taken! Who's he seeing?

TW best gal pal and girlfriend is Joanna Jagoda

Skateless days of summer, so thankful for Tiger and golf. JJ is a uncla grad, beautiful in a down to earth way. She is not a celeb, and IMHO not glamorous. If you go to snap.com and search joanna jagoda, the first thing that comes up should be a pic of her and TW in the presidents's cup dinner. She wears minimal makeup, wears minimal or no jewelry, and is able to walk the 18 holes, ie over 3 miles to watch TW play. I am proud of TW who chooses happiness over celeb status or $ or glamour. To me TW, #9 and Mk all look more glamorous than JJ. Wonder or someone who is an Ilia fan here, BOI just announced in the newsbrief that Ilia and Katia are an item.

You know who she looks like? That swimmer Summmer Sanders. It could just be the picture though, I think that they look cute together; and the reason why I think that Tiger didn't choose $ as a quality in a girlfriend is because basically, he doesn't need it. And you;re right that she is very natural looking ;)

Great job! Hmm....you may get the job if someone doesn't come back from vacation soon. Where is my slav....er, chemy? Where the 4 pix of this week? Can someone post this JJ's pic here? I'm curious but I'm too busy (you know, big time producers usually are :-)) to surf the net. I wonder how they met. Is the girl blonde (from the Summer Sanders comment)? Tiger seems to like blondes. His highschool sweetheart was also a blonde. Katia and Ilia are an item? How much older Katia is? She seems to be much mature than Ilia. What happened to Ilia's actress fiancee? Oh well.

I've been wondering that too, wasn't it just recently (I mean this year) that him and that actress were pictured in seventeen magazine? Well anyway in the absence of Chemy I have like 3 pictures of #9 and 6.0, but I don't know how to post them up ;(

With the pennies you pay us Yingshan, who can afford it, heehee. Hey, least I'm not a "slav..." like Chemy, heehee(I'm just an indentured servant ;0). 'Sides with so much talent on this board, we can all contribute a story a week by a different author. (Wish Marcella was back too). To share the wealth, so to speak. (What wealth, we get nothin'...grumble, grumble) BTW, Like I said littlepebbles, wonderful job, my fave part as usual is the PK grab-kiss-and-then-carry-extra-luggage part, LOL. Hey Kwanistas, pretty soon we shall be including those sun catchers in the Kult kit, huh, good idea methinks. Chemy, Blizzard needs help posting pics she made. That's your department, oh great photsplicer extraordinaire.

My co-worker spotted him again around Tustin's Market Place last night. He's driving around in his car. She spotted him twice actually. Apparently, he's only hanging around Tustin these days. I went to check out Tustin after work today but no sight of him. :-) My co-worker's daughter is a cop. One of her co-worker is a friend of #9's. He said #9 "doesn't do anything", "He is making $10 million and he just stays home". Translation: #9 doesn't party, travel or have any other extravagant habbits. I think that makes a good husband material. :-) Hmm.....malcontent servent. Remember how we deal with that the last time? Crispy Mano? That has a nice ring to it.

....is at least one hour away from UCLA. It's not that close. PK is a friend of a cop, who works with my co-worker's daughter. They spotted PK many times around Tustin and she never mentioned PK as anything but being alone. Acually, her daughter also has eyes on PK but she's no where close to MK in looks. I hope my co-worker doesn't see this......... :-)

Thanx chemy I'm sending them to you right now. There only are two though (still working on the last one) but you'll get them before sunday...hopefully ;) That's so cute that PK is a "home body." Driving around in his cute little car, with his cute little self *sigh* Well I'm going to be gone for the net week, well technically I just don't think I'll be home. So toodles :) And for yingsan's sake I hope your co-worker doesn't see that either.

Hi!!! I am a big fan of Paul Kariya and I have some bad news for Michelle Kwan's fans. Those who think that Paul and Michelle should get together it is not going to happen. I heard from a very dependable source that Paul has a girlfriend. She's from Vancouver, Canada, his home town, and that they are very serious and may be considering marriage. So sorry to all those Michelle Kwan fans who want them to get together maybe you should find another poor sap to be tortured.

Welcome to MKF! I see on your profile that you just registered today and this is your first post. Do you mind naming this "very dependable source" that you heard about this "very serious girlfriend" from? Not to say I don't believe you of anything, it's just that the Anu thing was from a "dependable source" also. J By the way, is this "very serious girlfriend" by any chance a schoolteacher? "Another poor sap to be tortured" Dang, isn't that kinda harsh? Well, I hope you like it here at MKF. Thanks everybody, for the nice reviews of my story. Sorry, Yingshan, I can only write part time with my directing duties. BTW, I think Ilia is about 22 and Katia is like 28. PK just stays home? Well, I think he can afford to go out once in a while, as long as it is with a certain young lady. ;o) Who dissed crispy pata?

I have to agree with littlepebbles "another poor sap to be tortured" was a little harsh. I wonder why we're getting all these "people" now. Oh well, as long as your here I hope that you have fun blowing things out of proportion, making things out to be more serious than they actually are, and misinturpreting the meaning of "fiction." enjoy your stay :)

Why do we have so many trolls here recently? If PK has a serious gf, what he's doing alone in Tustin during off season? littepebbles, nobody dissed crispy pata. I just like a bit variety. (evil smile) The map you linked to doesn't show Tustin Market Place. It doesn't even show Jamboree, the main street in Tustin where Tustin Market Place is on. I didn't use zoom in though.

Great job, chemy! It looks like love at first sight :) Don't tell me we have another BBT threat! Hate to be skeptical, and no offense directed toward you, Jade9, but for me seeing is believing. I think I can speak for a lot of us fictioners that our story will continue until we have solid proof that PK's attention and affection are committed elsewhere. If PK is so devoted that he's on the verge of marriage, why is he spending so much time alone? Are there cultural considerations we're not aware of? With his salary, you'd think he would have his "girlfriend" living close by, or that there would be sightings of the two together. Again, this isn't meant as an attack toward you, Jade9, but for me, the information you've provided doesn't jive with the information that a lot of other people have contributed. Sorry!

Hi I was just reading some old messages and I just wanted to let you know Paul Kariya does not drive an '86 Lexus. He drives a 95 Lexus SC-300 and he lives in a Townhouse which is extremely nice, I know townhomes/condos are similar but these are very nice and "pricey". ( I just didn't want you guys to have to daydream about Michelle riding w/ Paul in beat-up old Lexus) ;-)

Jamboree & the Santa Ana (5) Freeway. If you want a flea market, use the Orange County Fair swap meet. It's open weekends except during the Orange County Fair in July. There's also a Farmers Market on Thursday mornings.
