BFFFers' Ten Commandments by Yingshan
10. You shall not put forth any KFC around MK's temple where we worship.
9. You shall put the success of our production above your personal gain (no whining about pay)
8. You shall do everything to further our causes, e.g. sending PK a MK's book, hinting of MK when you can talk to PK, no matter whether it makes you a laughingstock.
7. You shall not nominate any guys for MK lightly (You shall do a detailed background check before mentioning it here). Our girl deserves the best.
6. You shall not be vulgar in any creative writing or picture splicing.
5. You shall not throw yourself at any guy who we consider a good match for MK no matter how attractive you find him to be or how close you get to him. This is a non-competitive clause.
4. You shall not mention any BFFF outside of this thread, especially not in any PK Forum.
3. You shall have a sense of humor.
2. You shall not mistake any writings here as "news".
1. You shall bow to the high pristess's wisdom at all time!

Any bold has been done so by me and any [italics] in brackets has been added by me, not the original authors.

For first time visitors WELCOME. This is 100% fan fiction. Fan fictioners agree to start a new chapter whenever the thread grows to 80 messages long. We also agree to never discuss this fan fiction material outside of Fan Fiction Land, i.e. we do not post any of this in rssif, FSW, or other threads in this MK forum etc. [Or the PK Forum] Fan fictioners are in the process of producing a play on MK and PK - Paul Kariya the captain of Mighty Ducks. The genius writer is Mano, contributing writers are Kooky, Yingshan (who is also the set designer), Wonder, A-Chan, and Littlepebbles. Chemy is the photographer. Magenta is the ultimate matchmaker, and the rest are managers of this co. I come here just to chill out. Sometimes we refer to MK as 6.0 b/c of the unprecedented # of perfect 6.0s she earned, and PK as #9, he wears #9.

Yingshan
To New Comers: Welcome to our fantasyland! The purpose of this place is for us to have some fun with our favorite skater: Michelle Kwan. We weave fictional accounts and speculations into very skimpy facts. So you'll be in serious trouble if you take what we say here seriously. And everything we say here are for your and our eyes only. None of this should be repeated elsewhere on the USNET, e.g. RSSIF, FSW.... [Or the PK Forum!!!!!]

We're creating a romance novel/movie script. It's temporarily named "Ice to Ice" (I like "Icy Affairs" better). The leads are Michelle Kwan ("6.0") and Mighty Ducks captain Paul Kariya (#9). No, we don't know whether there's anything going on between them. We pick them to write because we think they make a perfect couple. [And not only because they're both Asian, or Asian and 1/2 Asian!] The main screen writer is Mano. I'm the producer/editor. My partner in production is Magenta. Chemy is our photographer. Wonder is my co-editor. Skatingfan is our sound whiz. Blizzard is our art director. Kooky and annabelle are on our contributing writing team. Littlepebbles is our director.

Welcome to stay and watch our creative process. But please obey our confidentiality rule. We don't want our brilliant ideas being pirated.

One More Criteria.....
for anyone who wants to read here:

YOU NEED A SENSE OF HUMOR!

Mano
Do not adjust your monitors, you have just entered...the Boyfriends Fan Fiction Zone (AKA BFFF)

If you are feeling lightheaded, dizzy, and see Michael Jordan back with the Chicago BULLs (pun intended), you must STOP, click the "Back button" and seek medical attention quickly.

If you happen to have a good sense of humor and realize that this is truly 100 % PURE FAN FICTION, then welcome to our humble abode.

Remember, we are not responsible for any mental injuries that might occur upon seeing the fictional stories and pictures. In other words, enter at your own risk. However, we do offer BFFF Life Insurance. Ask one of our agents for more info.

Without further ado...(drum roll)
May I present the stars of the show...

This is LP here:
Not that PK fans aren't welcome, they are as long as they don't show up trolling, send threatening e-mails, or go running back to the PK forum bashing us and Michelle. Cause unfortunately all that stuff has happened. Hope everyone enjoys our antics and don't be scared of Yingshan, she only bites on Tuesdays. :oÞ

Note: It used to be Yingshan only bit on Tuesdays, but she has made it known that she bites when she is in the mood, so watch out for her.

Let's see now, we have one measly line from a measly article proclaiming that PK has a gf, and a speculative post from an entirely unverifiable source concerning Mr. Filipino. Retire? We'll do that when their wedding is announced in the OC Register. Until then, as far as I'm concerned, BFFFer channel is still up and running.

Honestly, though, I don't think it's time to panic yet. The Hockey News, I'll admit, is a lot more credible than tabloids. But hey, people break up all the time, right? (not that I wish ill on Paul's romantic life, but...) As for Michelle, who says the Stojko School of Romance doesn't work both ways?

Yes, the Rangers finally win a game, and just after my despair over their loss against SJ Monday night. I was at that game and it was truly painful to watch Richter in the midst of a veritable shooting gallery, doing all he can to save their derriere while the rest of the team stood around aimlessly. To be fair, I thought the Ducks deserved this win, as once again NY was outplayed for most of the game before scoring a soft goal on Hébert. And PK had a pretty assist, too, so at least you didn't jinx him.

Yikes, I think I'll go start a Hockey thread in Random Chat so I won't clog up this place with unrelated stuff. What do y'all think?

I'm under the influence of weirdness or something for suggesting to retire BFFF. That and maybe because I'm staying away from my PC at home like the plague 'cause I've been working late these past weeks and don't want to see another computer when I get home (BTW, writing this from work) and thus no positive Lil'Pebbles icq input. Plus I hate it when I'm behind on stories. I have stories swirling in my head, want to put hand to keyboard, but something's holding me back. Weird Wild Stuff!!!

Blueshirt, I second that motion. Start a Hockey topic in Random chat 'cause I'm guilty of crowding BFFF with too much hockey stuff. Notice I have tons of Duck rants. BTW, a person who got the Hockey news and saw the same PK article said item 6 (regarding gf) was missing from the hard copy. Talk about doctored stories.

Love my Vin, okay 'nuff said. Thanks again Chemy ;)

As long as 6.0 does not have a bf, then BFFF is in business.
Now IF there is a MK/PKFF (which has been voted down) thread then, when anyone of the 2 is hitched then that hypothetical thread will be out of commission. But this is BFFF, even if #9 really has a gf, BFFF should still be in business. I sincerely hope PK does not have a gf. I have invested too much emotions into #9 and 6.0, hate to have to brainstorm to find another guy for our angel.

Chemy that clinic does not exist. Cute pic.

Hi everybody! Hope you all have been doing ok. I've been physically ill for the last week, nothing serious but have needed mucho sleep. But I have also been in a bit of a funk because I'm getting so PO over my Mighty Ducks. Even though PK is still my only choice for MK, and I know he's just back on the ice, he's still in my doghouse along with the rest of his ice mates. I will now post my hockey thoughts in the random chat but thought I'd just mention why I wasn't around. Although since #9 does hold a place near and dear to our fantasy hearts I guess some stuff will still apply.

Let's not retire BFFF please. I know I didn't find you guys until number 11 or 12, but it sure does brighten up my day to visit here. I'm really pleased to read that the hard copy of that article didn't mention a GF. Trolls will go far and wide to cause a ruckus won't they? Maybe I'm not so mad at PK after all.

Skatingfan are you still thinking about the video? Lots of 6.0, especially winning when everybody is counting her out. You mentioned 'Hands', if he didn't think long and hard about picking up the phone after watching her skate that number then maybe he's still a bit foggy from last year's concussion cause your right she looks wonderful.

I love the Elvis mentions in the stories cause he's my favorite male skater and I can imagine him in the big brother/protector/match maker part very easily.

chemy I love the recent picture, now if she could just reel that duck in!

Mano is Vin winking and smiling/smirking at us? My kid and I went and saw Pitch Black last week, that dude has a very nice bod.

mano
March 10th, 2000, 02:08 PM
you were missed. Hope you are feeling much better even if the Ducks has been letting you and a bunch of us down. As you can see, I was the major doom and gloom person as usual. Anywho, over that and hopefully back to BFFF normalcy.

Finally, another person who saw Pitch Black aside from Sharon in our group. Yeah, the guy has a great bod, end up drooling midway through the movie. As for the personal pic, Chemy made him wink and smile/smirk just for me. Ain't she a doll? Now if she can only make him magically appear at my side, I'd be indebted for life.

While she's at it, if she can magically put PK and MK together somewhere, like stuck in an elevator or something, they can get to know each other better. Go Chemy, Go, we know you can do it. Just ask Yingshan for permission, high priestess she is and all that. BTW, ROTFLOL but quite humbled by your tirade. I humbly ask forgiveness all for even suggesting to retire BFFF. I was acting like a Soggy Pata instead of a Crispy Pata. I will take take my punishment like a true Beefer and not ask to appeal if its too harsh like I-am-afraid-of-7-trains-John Rocker.

Littlepebbles, are you all settled at your new job? Just wondering

Just thought a would drop a note to say hello. Its been a while since I have had the time to come up with an MK story or such, but I have been a lurker and making sure to keep up with the latest BFFF action. It is great to see so many new people writing stories and to BFFF. Thats great!

Unfortunately, I live in VT so I don't have any inside scoop stuff.

I thought of the people in BFFF the other day because I ate at a Japanese restaurant for the first time last week and I understand that Michelle eats sushi frequently. I know its a weak association, but hey it was a Friday afternoon and anything goes.

Anyway, I can't wait for worlds. Maybe there will be a Duck there to cheer her on.

Oh yeah - UCLA made the NCCA tourney in basketball. Any thoughts about a chance meeting between 6.0 and #9 at the game.

mano
March 13th, 2000, 01:59 PM
Talk about sight for sore eyes. Haven't seen you in years!!! Hope everything is going well for ya. We miss your stories too, you really knew how to make a great continuation unlike myself who is constantly stuck in TBC's. That plus you wrote some of the more romantic escape stories. Anywho, you're not the only one not getting info from PK nor MK since I'm from NYC and Littlepebbles is from VA. Making up stuff is our forte, though, so anything goes. As for a chance meeting between PK and MK at a UCLA Basketball game, depends on when it will be 'cause both PK and MK are busy with Worlds and playoffs, but hey, if anybody can think up an excuse for them to take a break from their busy lives and have some fun, it will make for a nice story. Michelle did say she wanted to see some UCLA basketball games. Any takers?

Just remember not to tell Yingshan that you're not producing, okay 'Sides what are we going to do without your imput regarding Duck games and other stuff. Who knows, maybe you might bump into him in the near future since you live so close. When that happens remember to tie him up, blindfold him, and leave him on the front of Michelle's dorm room with a note that says "A BFFFer was here."

I can hear Yingshan grinding her teeth somewhere, so I think it's time for a story. I've been working on this and it's not finished, but I can post the first 2 chapters. Here it is:

A New Mulan Special
This story is loosely based on the Disney movie "Mulan". I'm afraid there's no one based on Mushu. There are some (more like a lot) of things that are fictional and would probably not occur in real life or based on extremely skimpy facts, but they are here for the sake of the story. Enjoy!

There was once a young woman named Michelle who was a figure skater. She was a wonderful figure skater, in fact the best in the land. That was a blessing and a curse for her. Since she was the best skater, she also had the highest standards put upon her. Soon it seemed to her that everyone cared more about what went wrong with her than what went right with her, although you could count the wrong things on one hand and couldn't keep count of the right things because there were so many.

One day after Michelle had a problem in a competition, she decided she was fed up with people turning against her for things that other skaters would be praised for. Not only complaining about her skating, but criticizing the way she looked, talked, and acted. Not only that, but her family seemed to be at war with her skating team. She decided she wanted to say the ham sandwich with it all and leave the sport of figure skating completely. Unfortunately, she could not bear to leave the ice altogether because she loved feeling as if she were flying. One day when she visited her older brother Ron, a light went on in her head. She had just spotted her Ron's old ice hockey gear in his closet. He had played hockey when she was a very little girl. In fact, Michelle had liked watching him fly up and down the ice so much, she decided she had wanted to do the same thing. So along with her older sister, Michelle had learned to skate. Fast forward almost 15 years and here she was.

Michelle decided that she would play hockey. She could do something different than figure skating, yet still be on the ice. She tried on Ron's hockey gear. Since he had been young when he had played, everything fit Michelle perfectly. She packed up the hockey gear, left a note thanking Ron for letting her "borrow" it and got ready to hit the road. Now for somewhere she can play....

Originnaly posted 3/13/00 8:41:14 pm

Michelle had traveled along in her SUV when she suddenly saw a sign that said "OPEN HOCKEY TRYOUTS -- 1 MILE AHEAD". A mile later she found herself at the Disney Ice rink. She couldn't believe her luck. She parked her vehicle and went inside. She happened to be wearing a UCLA baseball cap so no one recognized her as the famous figure skater. She looked at the sign beside the ice. It read:

LIKE PLAYING HOCKEY?
NOT PROFESSIONAL OR NHL LEVEL?
THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU
WE ACCEPT ALL LEVELS OF PLAYERS
(only male players accepted)

"Only male players?!" Michelle cried. "Well, that's it for me. It's times like this I wish I were a guy."

At that moment a couple of players in full gear strolled by. Michelle watched them go. She realized she couldn't see their faces and she got an idea. If she couldn't see their faces, they probably couldn't see hers either! Michelle ran back out to her car and grabbed her hockey gear. Then she went back inside Disney Ice and ducked down an empty hall. She quickly slipped into the gear and then went out to where the ice was. She saw a group of players on the ice and went to join them.

"Hey! Hey you!" yelled a voice.

Michelle spun around to face an official looking man holding a clipboard.

"Yes?" she said in her regular voice. She cleared her voice. "Yes?" she said in a fake deep voice.

"I gotta have all the names of the people trying out. What's yours, buddy?"

"My...my name? Uh...it's...it's.....Mike! Yeah, my name's Mike."

"Mike?..."

"Yeah, Mike" Michelle repeated.

The official looked a little impatient. "Do you have a last name, Mike?"

"Oh! Oh yeah, my last name is...Swan! Mike Swan."

The official wrote it on his clipboard. "Do you have a letter of consent from a parent or guardian?"

Michelle-as-Mike frowned. "Why do I need a letter of consent?"

"All players that are minors have to have consent from a legal guardian." the official said.

"Well, I'm not a minor." Michelle said.

"Oh. Well, you are kinda short, so I thought you were. Sorry." The official walked away.

Michelle let out a sigh of relief. Then she took a deep breath and stepped onto the ice.

the nhl opener newspaper special from the OC register (i saved it from like oct....i think i told you guys about it cuz it had a giant article about PK) but i missed stuff the first time i read it....so here are more interesting tidbits on paul kariya....his nickname is PK....not just by us bfffers but also on his team...pretty nifty eh? it mentions he dates "moderately" and he used to go to clubs in his first 2 years on the ducks...but none of that now...oh and it mentions how all the wives of his hockey friends try to set him up...it's kinda funny...PK says, "You know how it is, 'We have this wonderful babysitter we'd love for you to meet.' Yeah, right." hee heee hee...that's right paul, you tell em! cuz your heart already belongs to the swan from UCLA!

Oh my gosh! I never would have thought of that idea. Great story and I can't wait to find out what happens! I'm working on the basketball story thing. You know me and romance ...

Oh - Off topic. Did anyone else make NCAA picks? I think it is the coolest thing! My brother lives 3 hours from me, my parents 1 hour from me and my sister 8 hours from me. We all have internet access. My brother set up a team on espn's web page and we have all made picks! Although we are all grown up, I felt nostelgic seeing all of our names there together. I'm working hard on the rest of it. Now for something serious...

I'm sure you all have heard that Tim Goebel hsas left Carol HJ. Some people on rssif and a bit on SkateFans are speculating whether he should leave Cleveland and if he does, who he should go to. So far the coach winning by a landslide is.....Frank Carroll. Hmm....that means he would have to move to LA/El Segundo and probably transfer out of Case Western Reserve(?) and go to a So. CA school, maybe even UCLA. If this were to happen it could put a real crimp in PK's style, not to mention BBT for us. Guess we'll have to pray a little more.

I do not want Caroll's attention to be taken away
from MK. 3X4 is probably a higher maintenance student
than MK.

On the other hand, really guys how realistic is #9 and
6.0 chances. We hope and wish and pray, and fast, where has
that taken them.

Where is that video Eilaram?

Yeah, you could say that. Working late again this week and didn't even bother to say hello to my computer at home. Worse thing is that I have to bring home work for the weekend. Thus, I'm bummed 'cause I wanted to work on some story so that Sharon will stop hinting that I'm way behind . You'll see me online though because in order for me to log into the system at work I have to be online at home. Neat stuff right? It's a curse, a curse I tell you, 'cause they can always send you work even when you play hooky, er, uh, I mean call in sick, yeah that's it.

Coolness!!! Bearpaw is working on a story and LP is continuing hers!!! Can't wait.

Hmm, I don't know why I can't picture 6.0 and 3X4 as a couple but that's just me I guess. I wouldn't want too much of Frank's attention taken away either. I haven't seen the article about him changing coaches yet.

In an effort to redeem myself in the eyes of my fellow BFFFer's, for my inability to provide any worthy news or stories regarding the stars of our saga, I will be attending the Mighty Ducks game against the Red Wings this Sunday. I will be sitting in section 205 roll G. It's just to the left of one of the goals and very close to the ice. I'm very excited because I am a BIG fan, this will be my first live hockey game and we're playing a very tough opponent. Also one we don't like very much, which makes it all the more exciting.

So even though I will be watching #9 and all his teammates, hopefully kick some booty, I will be on the lookout for any 6.0 sightings.

Additionally, today I ordered my tickets for the 2002 Nationals, all events & the exhibitions. It will be my first live skating event and it's in Los Angeles.

Hopefully I have pleased the high pristess, and all the rest of you here.

I have two questions:
1. I am so stoked right now, and feeling many wonderful emotions because I'm actually going to see PK and Salanne live, I'm wondering if I need to take out some BFFF Life Insurance?

2. Since I'll be sitting so close to the ice I was thinking of making a sign the says: "PK Call Michelle Kwan"

Does anyone know if the Pond lets you bring in signs? And do you all think this is a good idea? The people I'm going with will no doubt think I'm crazy but they also know how I feel about MK. So I really don't care if they think I'm weird, I'm just wondering if it might turn a light on in PKs hard head.

Anything to get me not do work and actually have some fun. Unfortunately, Monday comes around like a gigantic monster that sucks the life out of me and turns me into a brainless zombie that can only utter "ready to serve" when the boogeyman, er, I mean bossman comes around. So I have to finish the work or it's off to the dungeons for me.

kjesse, how exciting!!! Against the Redwings, no less. Talk about must win for Duck's Pride sake. I give you full permission to shout your head off to wake up the Ducks just in case they decide to sleep during the game. As for the signs, I say, go for it, but I think the Pond prohibits signs during Duck games. How boring is that?!? So, just wear a shirt with MK and PK on it and get yourself on TV somehow.

Answer to your 2 questions.
1. No need for life insurance if you do
# 2, i.e. make a sign or wear a t shirt etc.
(This is a thinly veiled threat, just kidding.)

How about wear a duck and an angel t shirt.
Since both the ducks and angels are disney
teams it won't be too obvious.
Then after the game, you should write a fan
letter to #9, telling him how you are impressed
with his game, You should tell him that you
are a die hard fan of the mighty duck and the angel.

BTW, if you are close enough to anaheim to watch a game
do you live close enough to iceoplex. It would be so cool
if you go there and watch Mk practice. While you are there
throw a #9 jersey on the ice for her.

Skatingfan- I thought when Mano told the procrastinator's of the world to unite she was obviously talking to me...I'm working on it slowly but surely...been busy with school and coming here...one of my VCRs was having problems last week...I'm sure I have more excuses, hmm this week is my brother's spring break from college so he's been home all week and so far I've been hit in the head with a CD, tripped, had a basketball thrown at me, been wrestled to the ground several times, had my ankles twisted, my arm twisted, almost got pushed down the stairs, and have had the verbal abuse of being called a loser all the time so with this physical and mental abuse my memory has been failing me...The week of worlds is my spring break so I might be able to finish it then...But no chance of me doing it this weekend b/c its my birthday weekend...I am very good at excuses.
BTW don't worry about my brother, he has never hurt me seriously.

I have an the Angel & Ducks stuff. But no shirt relating to MK. I live 15 mins from the Pond, but too far from her rink to drop in for a practice session. Maybe on a weekend, but noway during the week. Aren't there folks on this board who live near her rink?

I will report in after the game regardless of what I do about my clothing. Right now the only rule I made for the people I'm going with is No Red Colors period. They're turning me on to the ticket and I'm telling them what they have to wear.

Happy Birthday Eilaram. When you said mental and physical abuse , you are joking right? How could your brother put you down, you scored the second highest grade in Calculus.
Please take your time with the tape. BTW, what are you inclding in the tape.

kjesse, I guess you can not throw anything on the ice for PK except for baseball hat, or beer cans etc.
Serious, how about write him a fan letter, and hint hint who are your most fav athletes.

Serious :3X4 would be bad influence on MK, if they practice in the same rink. He has bad jump techniques.
I still speculate that he is a high maintenance student, Frank would end up giving him much more time than MK.
3X4 should go to Robbin Wagner, she has success in correct SH's posture problem. Not to mention, Wagner would be able to teach Timmy so nice spin techniques.

skatingfan I will consider the fan letter, but will feel strange writing it because I think of that as something a young person would do, not someone who is 40ish. I am very young at heart and in mind so to follow the BFFF 10 commandments I guess I'm obligated.

Mano do you know where I could pick up a piyo piyo? If I can get one I will do it. Maybe pin at note to it, i.e. PK contact Michelle Kwan she really wants to speak to you.

eilaram, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I know the deal about the brother thing. I have four bros, and one sis. Although growing up me and my sister were constantly fighting (6 yr dif) and me and 3 of my bros were best budies (met alot of guys that way), now my sister & I are best friends.

All the procrastinator's of the world is a good motto. I'm the queen of procrastination. I guess because I've never gotten in trouble by doing it, but too many times I've let things go till the last minute. It tends to drive my hubby a tad crazy. I tell him procrastination is a sign of intellegence.

I have no clue where you can find it in California. Tons of Korean shops sell it here in NYC. Yingshan might have a clue, but she's been MIA this week. Best bet is try the yellow pages or search online. BTW...uh, spelled "intelligence" wrong. Well, intelligent people aren't necessarily the best spellers in the world. But if anybody asks you about the mistake, just use a procrastinator's best excuse and say "I meant to do that."

BTW, Eilaram, I was actually going to greet you HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow, but figured I go against the procrastinator norm and wish you HAPPY Birthday today. Hope the cake was good!!!

Sorry for the false alarm everyone, but I just said its my birthday weekend...Its not until Sunday...But Hey I forced all you procrastinators to wish me a happy birthday 2 whole days early...I was being sarcastic and I did exaggerate when it came to my brother...When we were younger he did those things to bug me but now we get along...He is a lot bigger than me and I know he could easily hurt me if he really wanted to but he makes sure not to...he does call me a loser every once in a while but its all in jest and I can't really say it affects me mentally, sometimes there is physical pain but its minimal and short lasting.

Michelle skated among the other players on the ice looking for someone to talk to. She passed a group of guys giving one another noogies. Nope, that would involve taking off her helmet. Then she saw a few other guys standing and talking. She moved closer to them. I can do this, Michelle thought. I can act like a guy. She took a deep breath and went over to the nearest guy. "Hey, what's up?" she said in her Mike voice. Then she gave him a hard slap on his butt.

The guy spun around quickly. "Hey, I ain't that kinda guy!" he said angrily. "If you touch me like that again, I'll kick your {bleep} so hard your grandchildren will feel it!"

"You've made a friend!" exclaimed a pleasant voice. Michelle looked up and nearly fell over. The voice had come from a man who looked like he was about 7 feet tall and he had a big size to match it.

The guy about to break Michelle's neck growled, "He ain't no friend of mine!"

"Now, now, Matt. Violence isn't the answer," Big Guy said gently. "Now chant with me..."

Matt chanted along with Big Guy until he calmed down. Then he gave Michelle a dirty look and walked away.

Michelle swallowed hard. Strike one. she thought.

"Okay, everyone, it's time to start!" called a voice. Michelle turned toward the voice -- and stopped dead in her tracks. She stared at the person belonging to the voice. She thought she had never seen anyone so FINE. He was still talking, but she wasn't listening.

The guy was saying, "I'm glad you all came here to play hockey. I'm going to teach you the basics and in a few weeks you all will play in a scrimmage with another team. By the way, my name is Paul."

"Paul," Michelle repeated softly. The guy next to her looked at her strangely. "Just committing it to memory," Michelle said hastily.

Paul continued, "Now I'm going to divide you all into groups of four." He went around the big group separating the players into smaller groups. He came over near where Michelle was standing. "You, you, you, and you will be in a group". That last "you" was Michelle. The first three yous were Matt, Big Guy, and another guy with a big GRIN on his face. Michelle hoped Matt wouldn't give her a hard time.

So such luck. "Well, well, well, if it isn't Butt Slapper--"

"--Hiiii," the grinning guy interrupted. "My name is Teemu."

"And I'm Stu," added Big Guy. When Matt didn't say anything, Stu said, "And this is Matt. Don't worry about him, he just needs to eat more herbs to get his blood pressure down."

"I see," Michelle said.

Teemu looked at Michelle. "Well, who are you?"

"My name is Mike Swan." With every time she said it, it got a little easier to say that her name was Mike.

"Well, Mike Swan, you better watch your back or you'll be sorry," Matt growled.

"Swell," Michelle muttered. "Just swell."

I don't know if anyone here was watching the Kings game vs Nashville Predators, but there was a piece on the place where the Kings train in El Segundo. It's also the place where MK trains, and yes, they did show a clip of MK landing a jump (kinda wobly though). They showed the King's locker room and the player's lounge and everything, and I just thought for a second that PK was a King so maybe they will have a better chance of actually running into each other. Just a thought. =)

mano

for the info and thank God PK's not a King. Just don't see him in any other uniform other than the Ducks right now. And Michelle did say that the Ducks were her favorite team. But she hasn't watched any Ducks games this season except in the pre-season and it was against the KINGS no less. I don't think she switched allegiances, she's the loyal sort, methinks. Anywho, can you give more detail on MK, like her hair, what she was wearing, etc. BTW, my conspiracy theory on Michelle's recent sparkless performances is directly due to the fact that she's skating on Duck's enemy territory, ahem, so to speak. The Kings are giving her bad vibes. I'm just wondering what would happen if Michelle suddenly started training at Disney Ice and wonder what her season would be like if that was the case. Wishful thinking galore!!!

OH KJESSE, WHERE ART THOU?!? How was Operation Premature Hat Trick or was that mission aborted? We are all waiting patiently for your detailed description of the Ducks drubbing of the Wings. Oy, I'm still on the floor I'm so shocked!!! I'm typing this from the floor, BTW.

Great story! I've written a reminder to myself sending the writer's pay to you instead of Mano by month-end.

Mano, I've been wondering about Michelle's absence from MD games since pre-season. She's hockey mad last year and all of a sudden, she dropped out of sight of ANY hockey games. What gives? I can't help thinking her love for hockey has something to do with PK last year. She either:

1. got over her flutuation after her interest wasn't returned; or
2. meets PK else where in private so they wouldn't draw any attention; or
3. meets someone else so she lost interest in PK.

Of course, her busy schedule may be prohibiting her from indulge her desire of seeing PK. But I'm hoping for reason #2.

I was going to ask you about a raise, but I see that even getting paid this month is a longshot. Anywho, as to Michelle's sudden "All Quiet on the Hockey Front" I'm also hoping for the #2 from your list, but highly unlikely. It seems like a concerted effort on her part to concentrate on school and training this year and the pre-season game was her last hurrah before she got down to business. She probably had dinner with Paul after the game and said as much, hehehe wishful thinking again there. That or she's really been reading up on us Beefers and realizing we have a weird streak and decided to make sure we are kept in the dark about anything that associates her with the Ducks, real or the fowl kind. Probably doesn't eat roast duck for dinner anymore 'cause it reminds her of her unrequited love status. By the way, I do have a story in my head on that topic, but when I'm good and ready it will come out. Yingshan, thought you've been practicing your Ninja skills so that you can sneak into their houses and apply some Feng Shui power. Desperate times calls for desperate measures.

Thanks for the welcome, chemy. I think the clip of Michelle was at least a month old considering that her hair was definitely shorter than it was at the Nationals (unless she cut it after the Nationals), but it still looked like it had lots of volume (so it was on the long side for short hair). She was wearing black all over including her gloves. All I remember is a 3/4 sleeve on the top. I just wish the clip was longer.

I saw that game too and you would not believe how loud I screamed when PK made that goal. The commentators replayed it about 5 times, that's how good it was. If you didn't see it, PK was skating toward the goal and the Kings player was pushing him out of the way the entire time. PK was actually sliding past the net on his stomach when he hit the puck in. At least, that's the way I remember it.

Sometimes I lurk on the MD newsgroup and there is this one Kings fan who posts 75% of the messages and he is really obnoxious and always putting down the Ducks and telling people to root for a "real" team like the Kings. (Now see, I am totally prejudiced against them now thanks to him. Plus, that they get to train on the same ice as Michelle.) I haven't been back since before the game, but I can't wait to see if he is throwing a fit about the Kings getting their butts kicked. I bet he is.

Speaking of MD games, kjesse where the heck are you???????? Did you accidentally get thrown on the ice? Also, I finally rented "The Red Violin" and really enjoyed it.

Michelle found that if she put a fake mustache on her upper lip, a fake goatee on her chin, two black marks under her eyes, stuck her hair under a wool ski cap, and talked in a fake deep voice, she passed for a guy very well. She made sure to arrive at Disney Ice in that disguise every day, and to arrive early so that she could change into her hockey gear in private.

Unfortunately, her disguise was going a lot better than her hockey playing. Her stick handling left very much to be desired, and she was even worse at hitting a puck. The rest of the players had taken to calling her 115, as in 115 pound weakling. That was, if they spoke to her. Most of them simply looked right through her as if she weren't there. A few liked to run over her. Strike two. Michelle got real good at dodging them real quick.

At least Michelle's three "partners" talked to her, but she wasn't sure she would call it a good thing. Stu was nice to her, but Teemu teased her unmercifully and Matt only grunted at her except for his new motto, "Hey Mike, take a hike". She had to admit she sometimes felt like pulling a Tonya Harding on her teammates. First take a stick to their knees, then go outside and collect some hubcaps.

The two things she did like were being able to skate on the ice, and to see Paul. As far as she was concerned, seeing Paul made all the other stuff worthwhile. She often caught herself just staring at him. Unfortunately, he seemed to regard her the same way as the rest of the players. Just as a pest. He couldn't kick her out so he was stuck. Maybe he would treat her better if he knew she was really a girl. But no, she couldn't drop her disguise now. Plus, she was determined to be a good hockey player. Sometimes when no one was around at El Segundo, she would go and practice hockey moves. She would also sit and watch how the local hockey team, the Queens [Forgive me, any fans of them] played and take notes. Her work wasn't wasted, though. She became pretty good at the hockey moves.

One afternoon, Paul divided the group into two teams to play a practice game and put what they learned to work. Paul stood back and watched. Not bad he thought. He had done okay with teaching them. The game was interesting but uneventful until that little guy Mike got the puck. He seemed to slip right underneath the other guys and then went for a breakaway and made a goal. He seemed to get across the ice in two seconds. Paul was so stunned, he accidentally spilled his Gatorade down the front of his shirt.

After the practice game, Paul and his hockey players went into the locker room. He noticed that Mike seemed to be hanging back so he took the opportunity to compliment him on his playing.

"Hey Mike, you played a great game today," Paul said and gave him a friendly slap on the arm. Mike looked away and said, "Thanks." Was Mike blushing? Nah, probably just timid. He went to his locker space to change his shirt.

Michelle watched Paul go to his locker. Her arm still tingled where he had touched her. He took a clean t-shirt out of his locker and pulled the dirty one over his head. Then everything went black.

Thanks for the concern. That was an unsuccessful attempt by the poster to put me down 'cause I exposed him at Chu Land (FSW - Adrian Chew) where he dissed Kwan's looks. It was a thread for Best/Worst looking skaters (Flame War right there). He didn't have to add comments, people just listed who they thought looked good, who didn't in their opinion. He wondered why I didn't defend the Ice Dancer Fusar-Poli, I told him that's why I stay away from those threads 'cause somebody will always take offense plus I said she was pretty. I did warn him via email that thread was trouble in the first place and his fave skater could get bashed also(which did happen, guy don't take a hint even when it hits him in the face). He thought the ice-dance comments would get me down, but I was ROTFLOL 'cause he doesn't know me very well. Seriously, that guy isn't going to fair well in relationships 'cause he likes to dredge up past sins of everybody and this guy notes everything down and has magazines and tapes to back him up. If it's true that he started the Tara-Michelle Fight Board, all I have to say is, go figure. Sheesh, and I thought bitter mellon was bitter.

Littlepebbles, great story as usual and anticipating the rest of it soon. Can't wait!!!

Before Sharon asks, I humbly apologize I didn't get to work on IAC even though I was supposed to over the weekend. I had to bring home work for the 2nd week in a row. Hopefully that's the last time I have to do that (doubt it, but...) I will get to that story 'cause it's taking up too much space in my head. (I don't have a lot as it is )

Blueshirt, where have you been??? I didn't want to add another post the Hockey topic 'cause I felt like I was talking to myself. ITA, where the h*ck is kjesse? I hope she's alright. The Ducks must have locked her up somewhere so she can't give us any news.

Skatingfan, I hope Woods gets back on track. This Sutton guy really wants to win this tournament, it's up to Tiger to see if he's up to the challenge. As for MB's comments, I've already gone past that, it's the same old same old from her. Not even worth thinking about, just putting stress on yourself, so just chill. Let Michelle's skating do the talking

I felt the same way too about the Hockey thread, like I'm talking to empty space in there. So I went away for a few days and neglected you. Sorry!

To skatingfan re: Hersh article--I would have posted on FSW, but everytime I try to register, the screen pops up that says "we're not accepting new registrations at this time." Which was weird because I could have sworn Adrian reopened the registrations recently. Oh wellies. And oh, yeah, I'm also awaiting most anxiously to see what the skating gods have in store for MB.

Thanks...I'm must be really out the loop because I have no idea what this Tara-Michelle Fight Board is that people mention sometimes, but with a name like that maybe its best I don't know what it is...

I love beefer land, this is the only safe place for me. Since we
all have signed blood contract.

Yes, PK jr looks cute, now all me need is a pic of a little swan.

Mano mentiond somewhere that she wants a perfect TRV
performance for her video. I do too, now are we putting
that to good use? I mean other than selfish enjoyment
for ourselves. I think we should share that with the
MD, dont you think?

The next thing Michelle knew, she was lying on the floor and everyone was looking down at her. Strike three! she thought and inwardly moaned.

Paul knelt down next to her. "Mike, are you okay?" he exclaimed.

"Uh, yeah," Michelle said, and picked herself up off the floor. "I, uh, just didn't eat a big lunch today. I have to go now. See you!" And she ran out the door. She drove home and decided to comfort herself with some Ben and Jerry's ice cream. This had to be the most humiliating thing that had ever happened to her, even though Paul had a very nice muscular chest. But did she actually have to faint at the sight? The team would probably never let her live it down.

She was right. "Hey 115, do you want some food?" "Hey 115, here's a pillow so you don't bump your head." Ha ha.

At least Paul seemed to treat her well. He always complimented her on how well she was playing. It led to Matt calling her "coach's pet" but for once, she didn't care. She even got to know Paul pretty well, although she was very evasive when he asked her about herself. One day after practice, they were sitting in the bleachers discussing the finer points of the game when this ugly and dumb looking guy came walking over. He was wearing a white undershirt and an unbuttoned tropical shirt that looked totally out of place and a pair of sunglasses perched up on his shaggy falsely(?) bleached blond hair. He also had a pot belly that hung over the waistline of his pants.

"Oh lord," Paul muttered.

"What's the matter?" Michelle asked.

"It's the Surfer," answered Paul. Actually, surfer wannabe. He thinks he's a great surfer but he's way too out of shape to do anything impressive. He can't even fit a wetsuit." [Note from author: I thought it would be nice if I gave the Kings fan from the newsgroup a cameo. ]

The Surfer stopped in front of Michelle and Paul. "Hey Pauly boy, hanging out with one of your weaklings?"

Paul ignored the insult. "What do you want?"

"I just came to tell you that all the pickup teams in Southern California are going to have a tournament, kind of like the playoffs in the NHL. I personally wouldn't give any of you a first thought, but they want everyone." He tossed an envelope at Paul. "Frankly I think seeing your team embarrassing themselves and how bad a teacher you are will be enjoyable." He walked away laughing.

Paul glared after him. "He makes me so sick."

Michelle was annoyed at the Wannabe Surfer and she also felt a pang of sympathy toward Paul. She could tell that he was hurt by Surfer's insults. "Don't worry about him. I think you're a great teacher." When Paul didn't say anything, she added, "and anyone who can teach me to play hockey is amazing." She almost put her hand on Paul's knee to comfort him, but she restrained herself because no guy would do something like that.

Paul grinned at Mike. "Thanks," he said. Then Mike excused himself and left. Paul looked after him. There was something real interesting about him. Under the facial hair and black marks, his face looked really interesting, almost feminine. Paul thought a little more about it, then chalked it up to the thought that Mike probably had one of those androgynous faces like Leo DiCaprio.

another great story. Move over Mulan, Mike is coming. One critique though, just letting you know that Leo is a girly man. (is that better?)

Michelle stopped at the rink where she and the guys had been practicing. She just so happened to have brought along her figure skates. She slipped out of her padding and traded her hockey skates for figure skates. Then she stepped onto the ice. She had really missed skating. Her back felt great doing a layback spin compared to being checked into the boards. She loved doing her footwork and spins and jumps and especially the Kwan spiral. She just skated with total abandon for a while.

Suddenly, Michelle heard male voices coming. She skated over to the boards and jumped over to the outside of the rink. Seconds later Matt, Teemu, and Stu came over. They were still wearing their skates and they decided to cut across the ice on their way to the locker room. Teemu spotted Michelle first.

"Hey Mike!" he yelled and he and the others came to the boards where Michelle was standing (hiding). Michelle thanked her lucky stars that the boards covered the majority of her body and that she still had on her facial makeup and wool cap. She was wearing a baggy sweatshirt on top but she was also wearing form fitting stretch pants and white figure skates. She rested her arms on the boards and prayed they didn't look over.

"Hey guys," she said in her phony deep voice. "I was just practicing some of my hockey moves, but I'm on my way out."

Stu exclaimed, "We were just practicing in the other rink! If we knew you were practicing too we could have had a pickup game."

Thank God they didn't know Michelle thought. "Yeah, well, I'm done now and I'm getting ready to go home." She was starting to inch along the boards away from the guys when Teemu said, "Wait, wait! I know we didn't give you good impressions when we first met so we thought maybe we could start with a clean slate." Stu nodded eagerly and Matt grunted, "Yeah, you're all right." Michelle couldn't help grinning. She knew it was hard for Matt to say that because in layman's terms it was the equivalent of "You're my best friend with a cherry on top!"

Finally the three guys left and Michelle breathed a sigh of relief and high tailed her way out of there.

After that, the four were practically inseparable. It was much harder for Michelle to keep up her disguise but she felt it was worth it because the "Gang of 3" made her laugh until her stomach hurt and they liked to play practical jokes on Surfer. The rest of the players also began treating Michelle better because if Teemu, Matt, and Stu liked Mike, he couldn't be that bad. They also worked their butts off on their hockey until the time of the tournament arrived.

LP keep the master pieces rolling.
I am so happy to be here at beefer land. I checked the spoilers and sp skating
order earlier today. I have decided to keep my lurking/posting about worlds at
a minimum. So glad this is such a sanctuary for me. I calm myself down by
checkimg and keeping up with the scores standing in golf, baseball and hockey today.

No surprise Tiger is #1 in every possible ranking.
The Washington Caps is at the top SE division, that is a surprise.
Baltimroe Orioles s*cks as usual.
Glad to see the cub and met in Japan.

Can't wait for MKs world lp, and the Tiger and Sergio
show down in Big Horn 8/28/00, it will be a match
play like Tiger and Duval a year ago. I think #14 in
the world will not stand a chance against #1 in the world
in this one.

Magenta, where are you, going to the Masters again this year?

Thanks bearpaw and chemy for the welcome... bearpaw, yes, I oughta contribute something sometime rather than sit back and wait for y'all to go 50 threads (though I'm sure you can do it).
Honestly though, I don't know much about PK, though I do think you're on to something there... I once joked about 3x4 and 6.0, and I think some folks took me seriously... seriously I think it's all one-sided (on 3x4's part), if anything. It can demonstrate to PK how "desirable" MK is, and that can't hurt...

Sorry to end this silver thread with my question, but I am
curious. And we are close, we signed blood contract.
Will you guys please go over to the MK's only hope(how
qual will come back to haunt you) thread at comp result section
of fsw and read my message. I wonder if that poster is really
C.C. I know I am obssessed about it, but I will never forget
that a certain C.C. post a message in Violet's board and told
us to ," come visit my Mk page" and that turned out to be a
hate site. I don't mean for us to bash her at fsw or even here.
I almost forgot about it until a dual fan post on mk chat once
and said C.C. had torn down the hate site, and is currently
hosting a tl page, and is also a regular poster at the country
club. Again, I am curious, you guys don't need to say anything
at fsw. THANKS.

I have to admit the idea of Paul and Michelle is still growing on me, but I love your Mulan story. I LOVE the movie and Michelle's program to it. You are incredibly clever!!!
