How do you get more revolutions on it? I think I'm doing the right things - swinging the right arm without twisting my torso, keeping the back straight (that was my main problem) and being on the toe of the left foot and the heel for the right (I'm a CCW spinner). I'm getting the "spin-feeling" out of it (finally!) but I can only manage about two revs before I slow and stop. (The most I did was probably three...I was so shocked at how funky that felt that I forgot to count the revs! :lol )

I don't know whether that has to do with my fear of getting dizzy or not, but I can get dizzy pretty easily. I just do a couple of three-turns going CW and I'm fine. :) Should I be putting more force into my arms as I swing them around? Or is there something I'm missing with my legs that I should do? (I've found that doing a swizzle with the right leg doesn't really help since then I catch the inside edge and I don't go anywhere, LOL..)

Thanks!

lol because i'm having the same problems... but i've given up on 2 footed spins for now. i can actually get around a few revolutions on one foot instead. can you imagine?

LOL in my makeup lessons last week a coach helped me one on one with this...I'm still pretty slow but now when I pull my arms in I can feel myself go faster! Good thing, right? :) Going CCW, I kinda throw my left arm around and twist my body to the left a bit, to get it going. I think the thing is that I'm leaning too much on the heel of the right foot and I'm a bit on the toepick for the left foot. Have to get that sweet spot there...but at least I'm getting somewhere! :D

I don't know if this will help but it really worked for me...

I had a heckuva time getting my foot to stop and center, and therefore get the revolutions, until my old coach showed me an entrance from a hockey glide. Somehow this helped me get my body torqued the right way and I had no problem with two foot spins after that.

Again, I don't know if this will help but I thought what the heck...it worked for me so it might help someone else. Two foot spins were always my favorite element in FS1 too (I HATED that dumb spiral, though. ick, bleck, pattoie!!!!)

What's a "hockey glide?"

....it's where you glide in a small circle with your left foot right in front of the other. My old coach (who also taught dance AND power hockey stroking!) used to have me do this move then step into a two foot spin. I don't know why but it worked great.

Your coach could probably explain it better than me, I am absolutely pathetic at describing skating moves, not to mention explaining them on the ice. (Example: "So how do you skate backwards?" "Uhm...I just do it?") :/

I'll have to try it next time....I'm getting better with this, but it's hard to find that sweet spot on my left foot. It's even weirder, since to counteract the dizziness, I tried doing it the other way. Sometimes works, mostly not, but when it does work, I find it a lot easier to get the feet and blades into the correct positions...:\

I know, this needs some major work...
