Figure Skating Lessons....

Hey all,

Tomorrow is going to be my very first figure skating lesson. Even though this is a group lesson, but this group focuses on jumps and spins..... I am sooo excited, I dont think I can sleep. :)

I love skating, I don't like lessons to much b/c I never do good during them.

BAD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before my lesson, we have a warm up session, and in this session we do a lot of jumps off ice. One of the jumps we did was a waltz/(single or double)loop combo. My coach asked me to do a waltz/2loop, on my first attempt, I did fine, however on the second attempt, I finished the rotation and all, but ended up landing on the outside edge of my foot instead of flat on my foot. And all of a sudden, I felt that horrible pain on my foot. I walked two steps afterward but I was in too much pain be to standing up, so I had to sit down on the floor and took off my sneaker and massage my aching foot.

So I stop the warm up immediately, and since my lesson was in 45mins, I was hoping by then I would feel better. But it didn't get better. I had my lesson while trying to avoid doing any jumps at all, and just worked mostly on my spins, even doing that sort of hurt because I am one of those that do everything on one foot, the injured-right foot.

So, needless to say, I was disappointed. Now, I can barely walk. Even though nothing is broken, I will not be fully recuperate within 1 week. I just hope that I will get well soon.

I am sorry to share the sad news...But whenever anyone jumps on or off ice, be really really careful about the landing.
