I just remembered another reason I'm happy for Michelle today. Anyone else remember the comment during 1998 Nationals that Michelle had watched the tape of Janet Lynn falling during the Olympics had gotten up smiling? Michelle had said "That's the way I want to be." I guess she's proven herself to have really followed in Janet's footsteps, both in artistry and spirit.

I'm sure Janet is proud of Michelle.

Nice sentiment, sidda, however, why place so much emphasis on MK having a fall in QR. So much emphasis is placed on the slightest bauble, the slightest mistake of MK, because she has such miraculous consistency, and I mean miraculous through hard work, and fierce competitive spirit.

There is a similar essence of pure skating joy and courage in both MK's and Lynn's skating but of course a great deal of differences in their careers.

Actually, LuvMK, I hadn't even considered the fall in the QR in making the comment. I was just referring to the way Michelle has taken all the hits over the years and in this competition and still finds joy and passion in skating.

Of course, sidda. Not meaning that you are the one making a lot out of when MK (rarely) has a minor bauble or slip. Of course, its the media and often judges who do the inflating, in attempts to tear her down. Her ability to rise higher and higher under that kind of pressure is really her trademark.

I can't wait to see the comp, and see for myself MK's glorious skates.

I do hate the use of QR, always have. The fact its not televised too is problematic.
