I compete in ISI only. I am too old to do USFSA until I'm novice or something like that. :eek I think not!

Ash- you're 18???
Even if you're to old for juvenile (like I was at that point) there's alway open juvenile. Well almost always. I think intermidiate's cut off age is 18.
I myself didn't hear of ISI until I found skating message boards. I guess it's just not that popular around here.

ISI is terrific--its a relaxed way of learning, and you can compete at basic skills levels (you don't have to jump and spin). I've competed at Alpha, Gamma and Delta, and learning programs and competing has helped me gain speed and solidify my skills. Its a great track for adults and wonderful for kids who would like to participate in competitions and exhibitions but who may not want to do complicated jumps and spins.

I'm currently at ISI level Freestyle 1-2. I pretty much have my waltz jump, half flip, half toe walley, two foot spin and good spirals. I'm just starting on the one foot spin and toe loop, and I love every minute of it!!! I do plan to hopefully take my first USFSA MITF tests this year, and possibly Adult Pre-bronze Freestyle also.

I plan on competiting at an ISI competiton for skaters who are in Pre-Alpha in May. I can't wait for it ! :)
Since it's on the 11th (a day before Mother's Day) it'll
be a nice, early gift to my mom if I win. :D

And like what Yazmeen42skater said, about not having to do jumps in an ISI competition is great.
I'm still learning the waltz jump and my two foot spin is a sad sight ( :lol ), so I won't be able to compete against girls who
already know how to jump and spin for awhile.

ISI have a webpage: www.skateisi.org (http://www.skateisi.org)
Are they much different to USFSA? Ive never noticed TOO much of a difference (apart from the level schemes) ie. intermediate/novice etc.. whereas here its FS#

I don't participate any because in my country (Thailand) there're some coach available in the capital city only, and I don't live in the capital....so I have to skate on my own, and have no chance to compete since there's no qualified coach in my city, that's too bad!

I can't do enough skills to compete yet, my coach doesn't think I can skate that well yet, lol I can't even do a back crossover yet, but I play high school sports, I'm on the swim/dive team.
