i'm a counter-clockwise skater (right handed). i have a friend who's right-handed, but when she learned skating she learned from a friend who skates clockwise so she skates clockwise. ^_~

Hey everyone.....

How is everyone in the states? I am currently studying abroad in London, and I didnt bring my skates with me because I have enough luggage to carry.

Anyway,
I also spin the opposite direction as my jumps. Basically, I do everything on my right foot. All my spins are done on the right foot and I land all my jumps on the right foot. Weird huh? I have a better control with my right foot than my left. So, needless to say, after each session, my right foot is dead-tired.

Anyway, Have fun skating everyone!!!!

im a clockwise skater, even though im right-handed. thats the way i learned how to jump but i was spinning the other way, so i had to choose which way i wanted to go, and i chose clockwise because it was more comfortable.

I go counter-clockwise and I'm right handed, although has anyone else found that while this is normal in skating it is highly unusual in other sports?? I was always the girl who did things the "left-handed way" at dance, gymnastics, track and field, etc. Also, in my experience, dancers who crossover to skating at a later age tend to go clockwise regardless of what-handed they are. ah, the crazy world.

I do my spins in both directions. My coach calls me a freak (jokingly so), but I think it is a good idea!

I haven't gotten to jumps yet, but I'm sure I'll be CCW... because that's the "normal" way for figure skaters.

Counter-clockwise for me. I've all ways been fascinated by people that spin one way and jump they other, it just seems so hard! I've tried jumping clockwise, it's really quite scary!! A great skater, Rohene Ward, can do some triples in both directions, it's just insane!
