I thought the performance was GREAT, better artistically than the rest for SURE.
She was off the music during the foot work- it was so much more beautifully executed at Nationals, this might have dissapointed judges who saw nationals in Atlanta.
HER JUMPS ARE SO MUCH BIGGER- executed with deeper edges- anybody notice this. She get's so much more LIFT. TRIPLElutz/doubletoe- was amazing, comparable to 2001 triplelutz/doubletoe in EOE nationals. Triplesalchow/double loop?toe? really really good. Kwan is setting up for those triple triples, If you look at the height she achieves for them i think she can definitely execute- GO MICHELLE
NOW on to TANGO DE ROXANNE- i'm so excited bout this number

I thought the 2 axel looked higher too, but the video kept playing, then stopping etc. so it was kind a hard to see..very choppy. Can't wait to see it on TV

I thought she skated excelently - what with the wierdo stalker right before etc. Just to keep her composure was amazing. IF the judging of the SP was as we thought it should be she'd be 6 time World Champion by now, but each extra gold medal puts that extra bit of weight on her shoulders. I'm just happy she was able to turn this nightmare week around and show the world what she's made of!
And I can forgive the lutz at the end. She is obviously having some consistency problems with it due to the change in technique but for sure she'll have it down come next season.
And BTW I thought her jumps were the biggest I've seen in a long time!!!!

My video shows the jumps great, and Kwan's jumps are MUCH HIGHER AND BIGGER than they have ever been before, it's REALLY encouraging to see. It's like I don't get nervous when she goes up in the air anymore.

She was awesome and the crowd was
right there with her!
The flip and axel were perfection!
Her jumps are improving greatly,
her loop even looked better than at nationals!
I too can forgive the lutz, ala 97'! :b
Michelle is steadily improving,
can't wait for next season!:D

Her edges looked so deep and I agree her rotation prior to hitting the ice was better than I've ever seen it. Shizuka's 3/3/2 was great. He 3sal/3toe looked cheated and did not have smooth landing. She still does not have the finish or lightness of landing of Michelle and if Michelle can get that 3flip/3toe going Michelle will be tough to beat by anyone's standards.

I just saw it.Michelle was really rattle by that STUPID guy.Up to the end of Michelle program you still can see that Michelle is blowing air.And during the interview she look pale.Rafael was yelling at her to get out of the rink.Michelle was skating with this guy without her noticing him.He started taking his cloth and finally got him.Michelle went back to the ice and took not much time to regroup but point out their is something in the ice.
Her jump are high and beautiful. And during the interview she jokingly that the shouls add a point for that incident.Michelle was on except for that last lutz.I don't blame her because she was really rattled by the incident.

She was a little haunted by falling on the lutz in the qualifying. Does she have a different lutz entry for her second lutz? Maybe it's would be easier to do a 3lz/2t at the end of her program. That might get some extra points.
The hooligan is smart enough to know that you come out right before Michelle hits the ice to get the most publicity.

No, Michelle hasn't changed her lutz entry.

THE ISU ought to send goldenpalace.com a hefty bill for international TV advertising. They can use the proceeds for judge training. :lol

I think the 3 lutz/2 toe was the best that she's ever done. It was high and she could easily have replaced the 2 toe with 3 toe. Notice that the 3 lutz was higher than usual and the rotation was tighter and faster. But if you see her 2 toe, it was slower relative to 3 lutz.
Thus, we can expect to see the 2 toe be replaced with 3 toe next year.
But the combo flowed effortlessly. It was as if she was gliding in the air.
The 3 flip was just awesome. Again, it was faster, higher and the landing was just solid. Usually her flip seems a little bit off in the landing part, but today it was different. It seems that she's finished the rotation and unwrapped her leg before she lands.
The 2 axel, well, it was HIGH.
The Camel was light and fast. Faster than usual.
For those who think that Rafael isn't doing much good for Michelle, well just see her jumps. They are faster, higher and well, better.
He must be doing something right.
But most importantly, she must be hearing and doing something right.
I think for next year, she will listen to him more since he's been pushing her to do the 3/3.
I knew that she will need the 3/3 in order to win the Gold in Turino, but I didn't expect the 3/3 showdowns will come this early. I somewhat suspect that Michelle must have thought this too.
In the nationals I liked the second part of the program, but in the Worlds I like the first part better, partly because of the high level of execution that she delivers.
Understandably, the second part of the program in Worlds seems rather off for me. It was as if she hesitated going into the 3 lutz - or maybe she just waited to long and she saw the boards.
But considering the amount of obstacles that she has had to face this week, I wasn't expecting very much, but she proved me wrong, again.
She is just so strong and full of grace and I like that quality in a girl.
:CK @ss, Michelle.

I, too, noticed the improvement in jumps. They definitely looked higher and tighter. She could have easily done a 3/3 on one jump I think because there was so much room and I thought for a second she was going to try to attempt but lo it was only a solo jump.
She still had that fire in her that I saw from her short.
All in all, I'm happy with the way she skated. She didn't give up.
I can't wait for next year!
Evidently, the audience loved her. Did anyone hear the screaming that happened with each jump? And I *LOVED* her spiral at that precise moment to the music. But the best was at the end and the audience went crazy.

ITA with everyone, the 2lutz at the end was a fluke- i still think she was more rattled by qualifying than that dumb *** streaker

ABC might show the ceremony, since it was taped earlier. They have time to do the editing.

just Arakawa's LP, she is great good jumper and all, but MK is a prettier jumper, lighter than her of course. Kwan's technique I think is still superior and once Kwan perfects her triple/triple, which I think she has, i'd choose her over anyone's anyday.
Arakawa's presentation- TT has done wonders but she still can't touch MK and Cohen with that. I even prefer Fumie's over her's anyday. She seems too labored and heavy on the ice- it doesn't have a light quality to it- very tonya harding?
just a side note- I hate it when the audience claps with the song during a performance- sounds like freakin JIG. I feel like i'm in some sort of wedding. No audience has really clapped with MK's music before- which makes her performances seem more mature and serious.
