While I am sooo happy and proud of Michelle I still wish I knew what was really up. I think someone didn't want MK to win no matter what andthey nit picked her program just enough to hold her back from winning gold. They thought it was in the bag after her QR but when she skated such a dynamic short they pulled out the 2 second garbage. Some of the coaches have A LOT of pull in my opinion. I have my own theories...maybe I have read to many mystery novels...LOL!

I think you are right on. The world is a watching though...hmmm.

I agree. I still am baffled why they particularly chose HER when they should have chosen other skaters to penalize on.

Do you think it'll improve hopefully next year with the CoP rules?

Speaking of HMMM...how would it have lokked if TT couln't get Gold for Sasha so they split and then couldn't get gold for her newest pupil when everyone knew that
TT wanted very badly to have a singles lady gold medalist. Now her newest pupil was scored WWWAAAYYY high in the short (while Kwan got socked with a silly and rarely used deduction for elite skaters) almost making it impossible for Kwan to overtake her as Long as Awakara skated to her potential. But maybe certain people thought Awakara might need a little extra help to the top of the podium and MK was still too much of a threat! How's that for a conspiracy theory....they do happen you know!

I agree. Michelle's scores on the SP were still too low even with the time penalty. It was a smart move that the American team put in a protest even if it was denied. That signaled the judges that they are being watched. I think if the protest was not filed, the judges would have continued their unfair judging toward Michelle in the FS. I don't like this anonymous judging. The skaters get on the ice in front of thousand, millions of people, at least the judges should have the courage to stand by their convictions. I think they are cowards.

I have a different "take" on this. I think that there has been so much cheating on the judges part (and that includes "refs"), such obvious tactics to take Michelle out, and force her to retire (from the refs, judges, and bimbo freak before her performance at Worlds - it will all all only backfire in their faces (come Turino time). It is the purest form of unadulterated, JEALOUSY.

I think that at this point, no one, not a soul, can touch this young lady's ability to compete, compete purely, and still no matter what they throw at her, still end up on the podium. I couldn't give a rat's a$$ about where she ended up in this competition - ya wanna know why? She is always, and forever the best competitor ever; and will faces the judges square in the face and skate her heart out. Throw her anything - teddy bears or wierdos - this champion is a CHAMPION. I am incredibly proud of her.

THAT is why there was such a standing "O" at Worlds. THAT is why some bimbo hired someone to play with her head before the FS. Michelle is better that the rest of world, period!!!! Whoever she takes on, whether judges or refs, or naked guys on the ice, this 'lil lady will STILL kick their "you know whats"

I couldn't be more pleased that the events that would falter a lesser professional, didn't falter our Michelle. She took the Qualifyng Rounds, She took the marks in the SP, she took the obvious attempt to rattle her, and - Guess what folks? YOU CANNOT KEEP HER DOWN!!

:SE

She is up and away soooooooooooo far from all the rest, this is why the judges still can't handle it. I still put my money on THE KWAN, regardless of what the world spews at her. And sorry, they are Spewing up so much ugliness, only a lady of this class and professionalism, can do what she has done. Can you see a Sasha Cohen performing like MK after the the wierdo??? I think not. Nor could anyone else.

Our Michelle is in a class, by herself, and as it seems, all alone. Praise God for her family, her ability, and the joy she gives us. We should all be grateful that she still takes us all "on that journey".

dang, I adore this young woman.

Somebody hired the "streaker"? Is this a fact?

Awakara is a very deserving World Champion. (I have seen her before she is a beautiful artist on the ice, and she is also a very good technician.) She has put a lot of years and dedication to get where she is and how awesome that she is being rewarded. Her program was the most difficult, and its beautiful too. It goes to show that the ladies champion should be both. No, she has not won as many championships as Kwan but she hasn't been competiting as long either (not her fault!). She's very deserving. (And i as a Sasha fan can even see that.) She's won this fair and square. Lets give credit where credit is due.

It sounds to me that Kwan really did finish two seconds too long. This is a rule, and I don't think the judges/referee is going to make up an excuse that can easily be proved wrong, guys. Especially given in light of the scandal. If judges want to fix something, they'd be a lot smarter then that. They would probably covered their buts by putting Sasha below at least one of the Japanese girls. If not both, arguing that 3/3's deserve more credit.

I definitely agree that there was indeed something going on. They had to find something to keep Michelle off of the top spot of the podium so they pulled out the lame timing thing.:rolleyes We all knew that Michelle could still win with 2 great programs. They saw she was going to pull it off and they had to come up with something to stop her so they did. I still say it stinks to high heaven!

Arawaka cheated on her 3/3 not only in the short but in the long as well. Congratulations to her but she should have still been penalized as well as other skaters, and not only just Michelle. If you're going to punish one skater, then please punish others. Plus the fact that the 2 seconds rule rarely being enforced in the elite level when skaters violated it many times yet suddenly it's enforced with Michelle sounds suspicious to me.

kwanette, I believe that the streaker is sponsored by an online gambling website and that they pay his expenses for these media grabbing stunts at a variety of sports events.

No, Kwanette (and TY!! for all your faithfulness on this site!)

I have no proof that someone was "hired" (I sure don't have that "inside" trak). It just makes sense that this idiot didn't just show up out of the blue...just before Kwan skates. The facts seem to add up for themselves.
Between all the factors in this event, common sense tells me that there is a reason this 'wierdo' shows up just before Michelle.

I should have clarified better.. IMHO, this guy was to throw Michelle off her game, and did NOT succeed.

Forgive me, all, if my presumptions distressed anyone. I just believe that like Nancy Kerrigan, and all the controversy re: judging, this is to be expected.

Again, forgive if I sent the wrong message. Just my opinion, and if you think about it....It makes sense.

Long live the Kween of FS!!!

ok so a time penalty means .1 less...
so how do u explain a 5.1, some 5.4s and 5.6's??
i can understand ppl saying, ok mk had a penalty and well wut can u do...
but how do explain the scores??
how do u explain how such a superb program is rated THAT low. and shukuzu's 3-3 underrotation not being penalized as much?
im sorry but i think there was just unfair judging in general...
i can understand the time penalty, but those marks don't reflect JUST a time penalty.. i mean come on now...

I cannot explain....anythng. All I know is, Michelle skated her heart out - and for that, she now has a full arsenal of medals.

The only remaining one is yet to be seen... but see it or not, she has fulfilled her wish of being a "Legend". For that, I am still, enthralled with her.
