I was thrilled when she committed to the Olympics, my thoughts were Olympic Gold for our Michelle. Then I happened to realize, Michelle took us with her through her journey (high and low) that no one else did. She brought us happiness, excitment, shared her joy , her pain and passion on every event she's in. What more can we ask for? I wish her all the luck in the up coming season and I will be 100 % behind her with or wirthout a gold medal because Michelle is a true Champion!

Sort of a rational comparison, at least in my perspective, but if Maria Butyrskaya was considered "ancient" by many at age 26/27 when she won her first and only World title after so many trips, then it is certainly possible for Michelle to win another title even at 25yrs of age. It all comes down to the hunger for gold or whatever color medal and the ability to stay "in her zone," thus temporarily shutting out other "distractions." Although it is easily arguable, skating for one's self and for family, as Irina and Maria have done (esp. w/ Irina during interviews and TV fluff pieces) may be a "healthier" motivating factor than shouldering an entire country's expectations, which I think was what happened to MK in SLC 2002 on home turf. But then again, she won 2 World Titles in North America.

With or without makes no difference to me. She will always be my favorite. She is a legend and will be remembered as the most decorated lady in the history the US figure skating. As always I remain "forever loyal".:FL
