visited east west ice palace! =)

yup...so...today (or yesterday now that it's past midnite) my mom decided to take me down to visit the east west ice palace! it's about 15 mins. from home but i'd still never been there...i was super excited considering it was michelle's b-day...i was hoping something special would happen...tried to find the flowers from mkf that would've been delivered in the morning...but i didn't see...but anyways, we walked in & i saw her dad sitting in the inside room watching people walk in & out...etc...(i saw him at a nearby center as well last thurs....but wasn't sure if it was him...after today, i know it was =)) went upstairs & toured the workout facility...there's a small adjacent room to it overlooking the ice as well...that's where they're building the cabinets..etc. for michelle's awards/trophies...:) it was really nice...the rink is gorgeous...so we came back down & michelle's dad was coming out of the office & so my mom told him what a beautiful rink he designed...etc....he was very nice...totally humble guy...i was about to ask him to wish michelle a happy birthday but i...well...forgot. :( but yeah...i'm going back next week i think...it was so awesome even though i didn't really do anything! a lotta great coaches are there...karen kwan, peter oppegard, naomi nari nam, susan ng, & rafael artunian...to mention just a few...mr. kwan also said the rink is not done yet...they're adding to the training facilities i think...
...well, thanks for listening to this rambling...i think only you all would be interested to listen to this off-season talk...haha...

What a fun visit! it seems Danny Kwan is at the rink all the time to oversee what's happening. I bet he is very proud of putting the whole thing together!

I am going home to L.A. (woohoo!!!) for two weeks and on my itinerary of things to do is to visit the EastWest Ice Palace.

Hehe! I think Michelle would be worried about the person camping out in the frontdoor.

If I worked around Artesia or Carson and lived around there. It would be nice to take a route to work or home that include going by the rink.

Oh, and to be able to go there anytime you want to skate, and workout would be cool.

sorry...no pics this time...i wasn't planning on visiting....i'm hoping to go w/ some friends to skate for fun next time...hoping to take just a couple of lessons sometime too! haha...i totally wanna go visit more, but that would become "stalker-ish" if i'm not doing anything else. i'm glad you all enjoyed the report...next time i go...i'll keep you guys posted for sure! hopefully pics will come next time also....:D
