I don't know what happened to my tape, but the beauty of the times now a days is that tapes are obsolete with all the internet downloading in progress. I was able to revisit the 98 Goodwill games, which took place at the very end of the summer was it?
I know whenever they were it was hot out, because I remember sweating in my room watching them when my AC broke down.
But I think my fondest memory from the those games was how lucky I felt that we were given a Michelle Kwan performance that late in the season after everything was over.
I remember the ladies SP which was basically a series of dissastrous performances. None of the ladies were really conditioned or trained, and were clearly worn out from what was a very long season including the Olympics. Michelle stepped out on the ice last and delivered one of the only clean SP's of the night, and it was great! She really own that stadium, and ti was almost as the competition was just an excuse to see Michelle perform.
And then the LP the final performance of LYRA. IT had it's problems with the fall on the triple-loop, and the doubleling of the salchow, but what was amazing was how the performance was still magical. Even Roz Summners commentary on the mistakes..."Just not enough height on that triple loop" was almost said in a way which excused the mistake as if it didn't count as a flaw.
That was just such a wonderful time in general! Summer, being 15 no worries, or responsiblities.
