Its song ``Someday'' has already been sold as the theme for the Winter Olympics on NBC. The group, managed by San Jose's Robert Hayes, who foisted Smashmouth on the world, has also filmed an NBC promotional video with athletes including Michelle Kwan.
The group is a mixture of a Spanish-flavored guitarist from Chile, a hard-rocking guitarist from Huntsville, Ala., and a rapper from Oakland. The songs are about street life, revolutionary history, overcoming hard beginnings. It is the kind of daring mix of genres that few have tried and fewer have pulled off. The sound is catchy like Sugar Ray, but has street cred.
