Quick story...Went to dinner with a friend last night and I was telling her about the birthday project. She said that a colleague of ours, a teacher at the school from which I retired, has a 9 year old daughter who was diagnosed with leukemia....about two years ago. Of all of the organizations that he contacted, CMN was the one who came through and helped them...That made me happy...and I know that MK will love the flowers, but she will love the idea of kids being helped even more. The look on her face when she saw the check at the medal presentation said it all...

I've been holding this one back as a surprise for everyone.

A long time lurker of MKF who wishes to go by CMAC has made a special donation to the Michelle Flower/CMN Charity Fund in the amount of $500. At the time when she made this contribution, she basically matched what we had in the fund.

This makes us go over the $1,000 dollar mark for this project. I'll have to do some subtraction for the flowers, but we'll still be over $1,000.

I appreciate everyone's generosity for contributing. I just wanted to recognize CMAC's extraordinary generosity. That was so kind of you to contribute such a large amount.

I appreciate the donation by CMAC. Thank you. But, don't let that defeat all the other former and future donators. All, I'm sure, have done what they can. Some of you sent your entire allowance, others went without a new CD or a Saturday matinee and yes, even some on Social Security sent the max they could afford. I just got off the phone with Anna's friend and confirmed that the Flowers/Card w/CMN Donation were delivered first thing this morning to the East West Ice Palace.

I was hoping to have a great story of how luck was on our side and Michelle was there to receive them and pose for a picture. Unfortunately luck wasn't on our side (sorry). However, a person at the rink has assured me that our gift will personally be given to Michelle. :D

Pictures of the flowers, card, and mini presentation check were taken. Once Anna gets back from her vacation, they will be downloaded and posted for all to see.

I appreciate all the nice comments. There is no need to thank me. It was such a pleasure to interact with all of you while working on this little project.
