Hello all. I hope you are as excited as I am for world championships to start (I know I could use the distraction).

Figure Skating Universe is going to have someone reporting live the results of the every event but qualifying and I think exhibitions (not too sure about that though). Worlds is going to be shown live in Europe, so they are going to report back to FSU.

Sharpie, the webmaster from FSU, e-mailed the moderators and asked us to be representatives in copying and pasting reports back to MKF. This will ease the pressure on the site. The last thing any of us want to do is to crash FSU. Then no one gets live results

Since I am the only moderator too chicken to go unspoiled I am going to be the "point" person posting here. Kwanluv might also help out if his work schedule cooperates.

Sharpie asks that you stay here to find out the results. Please do NOT post results from FSU here. I will be up for every event that is shown on TV (everything except qualifying). We also ask that you not go over to FSU for live results if at all possible. In the end this is your choice and we aren't going to ban you or yell at you if you do go over there. That would be silly. However, it will help make things a lot smoother and will lower the risk of FSU server going down.

Below is the schedule in CST and EST. On each day I will post and sticky the thread that I will be reporting in. You are welcome to comment, cheer, etc in these threads.

If you have and questions or concerns feel free to comment here or PM me. Like I said, I don't want to come off as dictating here. This is a request from FSU. And I would like to thank them ahead of time for making this arrangement allowing us to use their reports!!!

Thanks for doing this for us and special thanks to FSU for allowing you to cut and paste. Some sites don't allow it.

so, what will be the best/fastest way to get the results of the ladies qualifying round? Ice Calc? there won't be a board that posts each ladies elements as they compete?

I think I want to try to find out the ladies quali results but stay unspoiled for everything else:lol , because the ladies quali is the only event not televised. Is this even possible do you think? or am I dreaming.:rollin

I think ice calc is your best bet.

I was JUST going to ask how the schedule breaks down. I am debating still whether to go spoiled or unspoiled for the actual events. It is going to be a tough decision. Man.... :D

It's so reassuring to know we will be getting live results! I also think it's a hoot that there are so many MKFers tyring to get results that FSU has to make special requests of us! Before you know it, ISU & USFS will be doing the same thing!
MKF Rachs!

Luenatic is going to be there & he said he would call me if he sees anything "unusual"! He will also try to post if he can get access to a computer.

Thanks!
As a favor to this website, I would keep your sig lines and any unneeded info short so that this website doesn't crash!
Try to keep offtopic remarks short as well.

I second pennskater's request. All of the pics and quotes in siggy lines tend to make the pages here a lot slower to load than other sites. That's not to say I don't appreciate seeing the pics and quotes, but for those like me who still live in a 56K universe, following live results here can be a little nervewracking, on top of the nerves we already feel every time Michelle skates, lol.

I'm wondering if people could keep their comments to a minimum in the results thread, and discuss the event in another thread. I, like Ashley, don't want to sound like a dictator, and it is fun to read everyone else's comments while waiting for results, but it would really help the people with slower connections if the results thread was relatively condensed. Thanks!

(I actually just registered at FSU, but I understand Sharpie's concerns. I'm glad she's offering to let Ashley copy and paste their reports.)

Will MKF also be copying FSU's QR coverage? If so, could the QR competition times for men and, especially, ladies be added to the schedule in the first post?

From what I understood, there will be no coverage of QRs on TV. So I don't *think* there will be any coverage at FSU, unless something will be calling in performances live. I'll double check though :)

*Edited to add: Just got an e-mail. There will be no live coverage over at FSU for QRs. So, your best bet is to look at icecalc, or watch for articles over at Yahoo. The AP will post it to the wire pretty quickly.

We may also be getting some reports from MKF people in Germany, more likely for the women's QR than the men's, but there will probably be some delay in posting given the time difference.

Thanks...

Also, thanks to everyone here, there, and everywhere who is providing us with info, stats, results, reports...

I'll try my best to give reviews of the men's and ladies events with my CBC coverage of Worlds in Dortmund, Germany. If anyone in NYC needs the Canadian coverage of the Worlds, please let me know at AznPrincess998@aol.com with subject titled "Worlds on CBC.
