Speaking of judging controversies.. what were up with all those 6.0s?! She only landed 5 triples and she gets a string 6.0s! Unbelievable! So many other skaters tonight outskated her in the free program.. I really do not get the judges. The standard of competition was the best I have seen for a very long time - possibly the best. We had almost half the field having solid 6 triple performances with many triple-triples, I think these worlds have shown that the field is progressing - Michelle really needs to up her technical. After 3 years without landing a single 3-3, I doubt her abilities to do one in competition.

Hellooooo she didn't get any sixes in the tech. I'm thinking..hmmm...do you really think someone here would agree with you.

Well, I thought she had the best presentation of the night. She did get fairly marked down in tech, with the lower jump content and relative lack of in-betweens (though none of the top ladies had chock-full programs either).

I agree with Lavender, those scores were not for tech. I might agree with you if she had fallen on a jump, which would mar a performance, but she doubled a jump.

hmm last I checked the number of 3's you do has nothing to do with presentation marks.

Doubling a jump doesn't mar a performance, it is just a lesser jump and therefore worth less technically.

Wait...Really? Other than Arakawa, I can't think of a single skater that outskated her...:rolleyes

You are entitled to your opinion, of course, but don't expect most of us to agree with you!

Oh boy, Michelle received 6.0's for passionate free skate with five wonderful triples and the judges are corrupted. Plushenko received 6.0's for his free skate with sloppy spins and an even sloppier fall and the judges were right on the mark huh? If you're gonna complain about unfair judging and corruption, at least be consistent.

As long as you arent pretending to be a Kwan fan, I'm fine with your opinion. Frankly, I don't know why all this hoopla is about with Plushenko and other skaters getting 6.0s. This is the last of the 6.0 era, so what does it matter? If it was the end of the earth, you'd eat all the ice cream in your fringe. The judges are doing the same.

I'd eat all the ice cream anyway. LOL

If she'd of done the last triple, I bet she'd have gotten straight sixes across the board.

Fool,

Michelle was not overmarked. The 6.0's were for presentation. That is the mark that always makes the difference with Kwan. She definitely deserved it if other skaters were somehow getting 6.0's too.

I will say that this skating season that I really feel that the 6.0 was way overused.:\ At Nationals, Michelle Kwan and Johnny Weir should have been the ONLY skaters to recieve a 6.0. At Worlds, I didn't think that any of the men deserved to score that high for presentation. Maybe, it is because this is the last time judges will ever be able to throw one out.

Michelle deserves every 6.0 she gets for presentation. Your statement would have been arguable had she been given a 6.0 in tech merit. She's fabulous in every aspect.:b

Who are you anyways? TL's mother?:rolleyes

Hello? Are you talking about technicalwise or presentation???? Kwan deserved the 6.0s in her presentation. She had no glaring mistakes in her program unlike some other skaters.

I think it's ALL about whether or not the judges feel it in their hearts.

At the '94 Olympic, Nancy Kerrigan skated a flawless performance, but the GOLD went to Oksana, because the German judge felt so connected with her moves, she had his vote.

If you are going to skate technically, be technically superb like Tara Lipinski with fire, if you are going to skate artistically, be artistically superb, otherwise, the judges are not going to give it to you.

I think it's not so much artistic or tehnical, by the end of your program, it's about whether or not you HAVE captured the judges' hearts.

Michelle is going to reach out and touch the judges flawlessly artistically at the Olympic to win her gold medal. Remember, Surya Bonaly could do jumps in her sleeps and they didnt give any GOLD to her.

well I'd have to disagree with you there Nevgiveup...I don't think Johnny deserved the 6's.

This isn't a surprise. Remember that Fool is the one who posted that anyone who thought MK's Tosca was better than Irina's is uneducated and uninformed? He and bekalc are just a couple of the posters who post here solely to put down MK every way they can and elevate anyone who is against her. You won't find one nice word about MK between the two of them, so don't even pay them any attention.

Viggie,

Yes, I think that this person could possibly be another skater's mother who Michelle competed against in the late 1990's.:rolleyes I do know that her mother does come to message boards to put up post. This person has not ever been secretive about her feelings toward Michelle. She use to glare at her backstage. Her favorite is Taratory.

I don't think Fool really knows and truly understands figure skating, at all. That's why the dumb comments.
