I was referencing the most recent chicken thread. Somebody suggested that Diet Coke should be the official drink. Then I saw the picture with the pillow and diet coke and thought that was funny. Maybe it's a sign. It doesn't look like she drank any though.

Michelle attended EW's pre Emmy party. At these things, they have rooms where they give away free stuff to the celebs. That's where the pic of Michelle with the Diet Coke is from. She's just holding up a can of diet coke. I'm sure she likes it. ;) She just doesn't have an endorsement with them.

My cousin, who works for coke, recently met Michelle at a coke event down south somewhere. I haven't spoken to my cousin personally but her mother told me about her meeting. There were other sports celebrities at the event also. I did get two interesting, but not earth shattering tidbits.
1. My cousin was standing with a few other people without any of the celebrities around them. Michelle came up and started talking to them. It is one thing to be nice to people when they come up to speak to you. It is another to see people by themselves and initiate a conversation. I think this says alot about how nice she is.
2. When I asked what Michelle was like, the first description of her was that she was very intelligent.

I know these are things we already know. These observations are coming from people who really don't have a clue about her.
I will try to get more info from my cousin next time I see her.

It is interesting though. Michelle is photographed wearing a coke t shirt, she goes to the coke party after the emmys, and she is attending other coke events.

Wow, I don't like Diet Coke. Sorry, I just never have. However, I am a Coke Classic drinker. There will be nothing but Coke in my house. But now I have started drinking Coke Zero and let me tell you, it tastes like Coke Classic but I'm losing weight. Anyhow, I digress.

So, maybe she could take a picture with Coke Zero too? LOL, sorry, I think it's really cool she's getting photographed with Diet Coke. Guess I won't be a stickler as long as it's a Coca-Cola product. But I loves my Zero.

I don't get EW so thanks for scanning that picture of Michelle Kwan. I'll have to grab one off the newsstand or something.

I like Diet Cherry Coke. No way could I ever drink Classic Coke as it tastes like syrup it is so sweet!!! I have no problem drinking Diet Cherry Coke as a beverage to go along with my chicken and Junior Mints!!!

aspartame that is in diet coke is really bad for you. REALLY bad. just type aspartame into any search engine you will see what i mean. please i beg you, don't use artificial sweetners especially aspartame! it is a poison.

Nothing is 100 percent safe. Aspartame is just one of many things that aren't 100 percent safe. If you ingest too much of anything it isn't good for your body. You can always find both sides of the story on the internet. Some of the very symptoms that people have experienced by drinking Diet Coke or any other substance with artificial sweeteners are the result of too much caffeine.

Anyway, I'm glad to see Michelle Kwan holding a Diet Coke. I'd be so sad if it was Diet Pepsi. 8)

Just to defend (if you will) aspartame...:)
As both a nurse and a diabetic i have had to take nutrition classes and whole sections of disclaimers have been taught and researched about this.
There are really only 2 ways that aspartame is bad for you...
1) if you consumed a whole truck load a day (of course a truck load of anything would be bad for you.
2) if you are born with PKU (phenyl-ketone-uria) this is the thing they test for when they prick the heels of newborns. If you are diagnosed with it, then phenylalanine (ingredient in aspartame) can be VERY VERY bad for you (can cause severe brain damage and death).
However, if you consume an average amount of aspartame daily,(If you don't have PKU) it isn't bad for you...no worse than sugar or sweet n low (remember the studies a couple of decades ago anyone??? - also false, if you consumed a truck load of sweet n low daily, then yeah...it can cause cancer)
However, to diabetics...sugar is far more deadly than aspartame, or sweet n low.
Just trying to set the record straight. Too many rumors and "Faux" research papers were circulating, and many doctors scientists, and nutritionists have researched and researched it. It's just not true.
