Purpose of this new section

Hey all.... i thought it might be cool to get together and do something to congratulate Michelle on her 3rd World title. For now, this thread will be to get your input about what we should do.

We can:

(1) Start a new thread here where everyone can post their congratulatory wishes for Michelle, and I will print them out and send them to her.

(2) Everyone can buy an actual card for Michelle, mail them to me, and I will put them together in a big package for her.

(3) Do option #1 (everyone writes well wishes in a thread), PLUS everyone sends me a dollar and I will buy flowers from all of us at the MK Forum to be delivered to her, possibly at one of her tour stops.

(4) Do option #2 (sending me actual cards), PLUS the flower thing.

(5) Another idea??

I like all your ideas, and I'm positive that whichever method we use to congratulate Michelle, she'd appreciate as equally. However, I do have my preferences! I like number two and three. It would make Michelle feel especially special to receive a big bouquet of flowers, in addition to all the congratulations card we send her. Moreover, I feel that we should also send Michelle, possibly thank you cards too, for bringing such joys and wonders to our lives!

I LOVE all these ideas, and will happily participate in any and all of them that you decide upon. I actually have started a "Congratulations Michelle" thread on my Skating Fan Forum message board, to be given to Michelle at the spring open next week, or when I go to COI. It's more of a congratulations thread for her entire season, including her World title, and everything else she's accomplished this year, both in skating, and in school. I have to say my favorite idea is totally swamping Michelle with flowers and cards at a tour stop, but what if it's too much for her to carry? What I mean is, will someone from the tour take care of sending it home for her, after she has a chance to look at it? Or would she have to carry everything with her through all the tour stops? I have no clue how this works.

I love the idea and will gladly participate in whatever you decide to do. But just one thought: what if we got her a card and flowers (normal flowers, not a huge bouquet), and then donated the remaining money to one of the charities that Michelle endorses (from her Internet fans)? I think that she would approve of such a gift, and once again it would show how much Michelle means to everyone and what a deep impact she has had on so many people. Just an idea. Any thoughts?

Diane created a project last year for Michelle's birthday, where some MKGAs donated money to CMN hospitals in honour of Michelle. I believe she will do it again this year.

I'm in for whatever the group decides. Flowers, medals, cards, donations, you name it. But where do we send them?

I will be going to COI at the Pond (Anaheim) and my daughter (also named Michelle, in case you couldn't guess by by username ;-)) wants to meet "our" Michelle, so I can take flowers and a print-out of our good wishes.

Also, how does everyone feel about sending good wishes to Irina, too. She is so sweet, and, after all, if it wasn't for her pushing Michelle at the GP, Michelle wouldn't have had to "up the ante" and wow us with such a spectacular RV!

Flowers are lovely land a great idea....but being the practical type that I am.....she is on tour now, so she wouldn't be able to keep the flowers or take them with her on the road. She would certainly enjoy the initial impact, but it might not be a very lasting gift, due to the tour schedule....
