Okay - let's forget about the PDF file. I'll just print a list of names in each update thread - so everyone can make sure their check, cash, MO and paypal donations have been received. So - the new total is:

i'm sending my donation today via paypal; but i wanted to know, perhaps i'ved missed this already, how much is this medal going to cost, and what happends if you are short donations?

skeeter: Since I've been one of the people doing research into the actual medal production, I think that I can safely say that the medal will cost no more than $3500 at the maximum -- this would be if we had a fully-sculpted image on both the front and the back. Since I think that we may very well choose a final design for the medal that has a detailed (i.e. sculpted) image on the front and a simpler design or just an inscription on the back, the costs may be more in the $1800-$2400 range. Either way, we are way beyond the projected costs of the medal -- so we should be able to make a really generous donation with the "extra" to whatever charity (or charities) we choose. I think this is just KWANTASTIC! (and everyone is being Kwanderfully generous) :)

thanks for the info skatingfan5; not that i was doubting anyone, i was just curious as to how much money was needed and what would happen if the donations fell short, or in the case, over. a donation to a charity would be great, even greater if it was made in michelle's name, on behalf of her fans! [or was that already planned?] at any rate, i'm sending my donation today! thanks again to all involved, and those who have already contributed! :)

Oh my gosh! We are awesome guys! I still have to send mine in (shame, shame, on me!) but I will send it in tomorrw, I promise! (The mind is a terrible thing to lose...even if I'm not that old yet...) :) I still can't believe we have so much money. I am just as excited to give Michelle the medal as I am to give so much to charity. That just goes to show what a little bit from everyone can do. :)

I have been so caught up in my own life, that I hadn't been here for awhile. I am sooooo amazed, proud, and in awe. Thank you, all! This entire project idea is incredible. HUGE kudos to whomever was creative enough to think of it. I was able to view all the medal designs yesterday, and wow! They are all incredible.

Anyway, once again, special thanks to Heather and Anna for their work on the money side. And special thanks to all who are working on the designs as well. You are wonderful!

I would like to encourage everyone who has not already done so, to please add at least a dollar or two for the donations, if you are able. Even if the cost of the medal is already covered, a gift to charity is always a blessing for the giver, as well as for those who will eventually receive the benefit of the money.

Keep up the excitement! And just as I still can resoundly say, "Michelle Kwan, you have made me proud!" now I also say, "Michelle Kwan fans, you have made me proud!"

I've been exceptionally busy for a while, just got back to reading the Forum today. Congrats everyone on the project and on the follow-through. My meager check will be on the way as soon as I can get to the post office. Took three pens to do it... one of those days when every pen you grab seems to be out of ink! Since the cost of the gift is covered, I know I'm just adding to the donation (however minutely).

Good job, guys. If ever there were a grass-roots effort, this is it.
