MKFF - The P.O. Box is for check donations. I suppose you can send cash - at your own risk.

Once I have enough donations - maybe every 20 or so, I will submit a post with the names of the posters who have donated. I may try to set up a web page, so everyone can check out our totals. My boss will be gone week after next so that may be a good time for me to experiment!

As for a deadline - that will have to be determined by the individuals working on the medal production. I am collecting money only. I rented the P.O. box for 6 mos. The box is small so please don't send me any huge gifts:)

I will be sending you a check for $100 -- the remaining $900 of my pledge will be made directly to the charity or to the "fund" I and several others may be setting up on our own -- others are welcome to join us, but I really believe in allowing those who want to contribute a bunch to be able to deduct it and to continue, over the long term, to contribute to a fund in Michelle's honor that will do good things in her honor and help needy children or families who love figure skating ... we'll see ... but my entire pledge will be honored ... just in a more tax-wise way. This Forum dates our posts, so it is there for all the world to see that we copied NO one and that we were FIRST to start and we will have a VERY IMPRESSIVE FINISH ... it is NOT always who comes in first ... it is how the "game" is played ... Anna: I wrote my check yesterday, but missed the last mail pickup. It will be on its way to you this afternoon and should arrive by the end of the week (from here to California usually takes 2-3 days). Thanks again for taking on this very important part of the medal project! I look forward to reading your first "status report" of how far we are along towards reaching our $$ goal.

BTW, the check I wrote was assuming that we'd be spliting the money received about 50:50 for the medal costs and towards the charity we choose, but I would be willing for the entire amount going towards the medal, if need be. Once we reach our goal, then I'll send you another check to go towards the charity alone. What I sent now is the maximum I'd feel comfortable donating towards the medal alone. Hope that's not too confusing. :)

Skatefan5 - No - the donations are not being split 50/50 towards the medal and charity. If you want an amount to go to charity - and don't require any tax relief - just designate it on your check. If you need tax relief - send two checks and we will submit it with your info, but can't guarantee what the charity will do. Otherwise, just send your donation, and whatever we don't use toward the medal, we will send on to a charity.

Nice webpage of donation information! I can see you put in a lot of works into the design at the same time keeping all the donation amount confidential, how thoughtful of you, thanks.

Since Anna has put a lot of time into the page, I hate to see her redo the whole thing, so for those who have trouble reading the page, please try what I did (p.s. I am not particularly computer savvy, so please bare with me if I am wrong, just want to share my experience):

1. Click on the link.
2. When get to Yahoo webpage, ignore the "select picture" and "back to album" buttons and just click on the figure of a words file (it's the only one) and wait patiently, it could take a while because it needs to open "Acrobat Reader" website first and then the page.
3. Final note: you may need access to "Acrobat Reader" to be able to read the page, because that is what works for me, but I am not sure if it is required.

Good luck, everyone, and happy to see the donations coming along so nicely, I cannot believe that we are so close to our dream now more than ever! Thanks Anna.

I am so sorry you cannot access the pdf file from WebTV. As Terri said the file shows the total being almost $800, but in reality, after my next update and conversation with Heather, is will be way, way over that due to some large amounts and many other donations. After I update I will post the new total on the board for everyone who can't access the pdf file.

Yes, Anna has been accepting money orders as well as checks. She has been posting the donation information just using people's forum user name, rather than "real name" -- probably because people haven't all told her if it's OK to use their real names. I'm sure that our real names will be included in whatever book, letter, etc. we give to Michelle. (That's everyone who wants to have their names included -- I think I remember that a few people in the original thread said that they would prefer to remain an "anonymous" donor -- at least wrt their amount. I could be remembering incorrectly, though.)

Thanks all for answering questions from posters still wanting to donate. I will update the pdf file as soon as I can, but it will probably be Monday before you see a change. It takes a long time to fill out the deposit slips, I usually do it on the weekends, but it takes even more time to fill out the names and amounts on the pdf file. I will get to it though, because I know many of you want to be sure I received the check (or m.o. or paypal or cash).

I list donors by list name if provided. If not, I list first name and last initial. Only a few posters have asked to not be mentioned.
