OK, this should be the last update about our special project for Michelle! (until perhaps we find out what she thought of our messages, earrings, etc :) ).
For those who haven't been following the other update threads, I used the leftover money from the earrings to purchase a bouquet of mixed tulips for Michelle's birthday. You can view them here:
Flowerbud.com (http://www.flowerbud.com/browse/tulips.asp)
I'll also re-post the message I put with the flowers. They only allowed 75 characters for the gift message (including spaces!) so I just wrote:
<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> July 7, 2000 ~ Dear Michelle, Happy 20th birthday from everyone at MKF!!!<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->
The tulips were scheduled to be delivered today (it was possible Michelle wouldn't be there to get them Friday on her actual birthday, and they don't deliver on Mondays), and the bouquet arrived at the HealthSouth Center in El Segundo as scheduled.
I tracked the delivery this morning on the FedEx site, and it showed that the flowers were delivered at 11:30 AM. This afternoon, I call HealthSouth just to make sure they had gotten to the right place, and also to find out if Michelle was actually there to receive them. I spoke to the same person who I had met when I dropped off the earrings. She said they flowers had arrived, and when I asked if Michelle was there today she said yes... and then she said Michelle had a statue unveiling today so it worked out really well that the flowers came when they did! I thought that was really cool, and I asked her about the statue -- I was very surprised when she said she thought it was a wax statue for the Hollywood Wax musuem!! I'm not sure if I heard that right, so someone in L.A. has to go there and check it out! I went to their website, but I couldn't find any info about her statue. Apparantly there's a Sports Hall of Fame section of the gallery which features Michael Jordan, Fernando Valenzuela, Larry Bird, Mohammed Ali, Magic Johnson, Tiger Woods, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar among others.
Anyway, I thought that was very interesting, but most importantly, I'm glad Michelle got our Birthday gift!!!
<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Edit:<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> UPDATE!! <!--EZCODE BOLD END--> I was wrong about the Hollywood Wax museum. See my other post below for the correct info about Michelle's wax statue!
