I'm NOT trying to be negative. I'm just worried and nervous for her. She is a FIVE-time champion and she talks about "not being able to concentrate because it's a QR" and "not feeling the ice" because she didn't have enough time to get used to it!!! How is this possible??? I'm not a skating expert, but if she were a veteran skater, how can she be.... somewhat... I don't know. I'm looking for the right word here, but after reading the articles and stuff, to me, (some of you may think I'm a naysayer or a basher, but I'm not! I love MK!) she doesn't seem to be on the ball this time. :(

Also... if she were not to listen to her coach... why did she hire him???

I think you forgot that Michelle is a human being. Get some rest, and come back later, and maybe you won't have these questions. Humans have problems no matter how long they have been doing something. Human beings are not always perfectly comfortable. Human beings are sometimes unable to concentrate. Human beings are human beings.

Did Michelle say she couldn't concentrate or that she just couldn't get of good feel of the ice? The ice was hard.

Skatekwan6,
I couldn't say it any better!:TOS

I personally think she just had a rough day and that she will come roaring back to the top in the S.P. and L.P.

I absolutely trust her judgment. But sometimes it's good to have somebody next to you (Raphael) and shook things up for you. Michelle sometimes might tend to overanalyze her skating while it is all in her mind. She's grown up, and she's very mature. I just wish that sometimes she can put the mistakes behind her, just throw it out of her head. We as fans is can only trust her and stay behind her 100% no matter what.

Please be very careful with what you read and how you interpet it. I stated it in a post earlier - take what Phil Hersh says with a grain of salt.>: He has a way of twisting people's words around to get them to say what he wants them to say. I can recall at the 2000 Nationals, Hersh edit parts out of what Sasha Cohen said to make it seem like she thought the judges wouldn't award her first place after the lp because they were holding up Michelle Kwan.

As for Michelle not doing jumps in her practice session, that is nothing new. She does it in her practices at home. In fact, she even said that this was one of the way that she practiced before the 2002 SLC Olympics. I think she does it to allow her to work on her speed.

I've stated this 100 times on different message boards. I have no idea why Phil Hersh has suddenly decided to change his mind on the way he felt about Michelle Kwan. I find it hard to believe that he really likes her. You should read some of his old archived editorals from the Chicago Tribune. :rolleyes

Don't worry Scholastica, Michelle Kwan is just being Michelle Kwan. She's okay.:b It's normal for a skater every now and them to feel that they can't feel the ice. Only some of them will admit it though. Others deny their feelings. Michelle is very open about everything. No secrets. I think that some journalist are surprised that she is so brutally honest.

Okay. Yes. I'll for sure try to stay positive for her and root for her no matter what the outcome is. I was just getting concerned... because I've been her fan for 8 years and I've never heard her saying she had problems because she couldn't "feel" the ice and couldn't concentrate because it's QR... Anyway, I'm gonna stay positive, but to be really honest... I'm a little worried for her. Hopefully she is okay now and, I hope Wednesday was just a bad day for her...

trust Hersh.

As I once stated he has the bad habit of many journalists of never saying anything good about anybody without also saying something bad about them, in the same sentence if possible.

Here is a link I wanted to e-mail ABC sports to see their input, but i guess they dont have a site for that:

www.worlds2004.de/shared/...SEG008.HTM (http://www.worlds2004.de/shared/data/results/SEG008.HTM)

This is the free skate results for the competition i saw tonight. My only question is :

Why is Ando and Sasha Cohen's technical marks higher than Michelle Kwan's if both wobbled and Ando missed her jumps and did a horrible performance.

I know the bronze was the highes she could get, with the qualifying and bull @#%$ short program scores, but i think they had a problem measuring technical excellence with these three. Five clean triples is better than 6 or 7 wobbly ones in my opinion.

Also, the spiral in teh circular footwork section, dick and peggy keeps saying sasha cohens is the best, but did they not sya that about michelles back in 1996 in the olympics?

P.S 2006 Olympics is coming up, I stopped watching figure skating beacuse she loss the 2002 one, I think honestly its a cures, she the most decorated accomplished female skater then will never win an olympic gold.

Just like Kurt Browning, a professional canadian skater, amazing skater sho never somehow manage a medal at olympics.

This is actually a very nice site. My compliments to the creator.
