May I please request of the moderators, following the A. Coulter/C. Rice thread, in the interest of holding a high moral ground in this forum, that they use the following guidelines (in the interest of equal treatment):
Please do not allow posters to use the words "hunk", "stud", "sex machine" or any other related terms in regard to male skaters, as such terms dehumanize them and are sexist. Any threads containing such language should be locked immediately, if not deleted.
Any references of any kind to any part of male anatomy (thighs, arms, buns, etc.) should also obviously be considered dehumanizing and sexist language and be subject to the same treatment.
Obviously, such references have absolutely nothing to do with a skater's ability on the ice, any more than similar references to female skaters do, and are irrelevant to a skater's skills.
I personally would consider any deviation by the moderators in enforcing bans on such language in reference to male skaters as opposed to female skaters to be sexist and offensive in nature, and not part of an open, welcoming, non-sexist atmosphere which should be cultivated at MKF.
Thank your for your attention to this post.
