I stated an opinion on a thread in MK Fan Chat. It was my opinion yet several others seemed to feel the same way.

For stating my opinion, I was alluded to as being "pathetic" and chastised for making an "example" of another poster. Now in neither of these instances was my name mentioned yet the intent was clear since I was the one who had the differing point of view.

Let me state for the record that I was NOT making an "example" of anyone. And the entire "experience" the poster had changed towards the end of the thread. Had the poster initially stated the "exciting experience" in the manner that was later expressed, it would have required no response from me other than I was very happy for this poster.

Whether you, AshleyL, realize it or not, the poster DID change their story. I have a huge problem with people acting aggressively towards any celebrity and/or using the Forum to give them special benefits or place them ahead of other equally as adoring fans. For me to be able to state a differing POV is important just as it is for anyone else. For you to chastise ANY of us with differing POVs from yours or the other posters is unfair.

Because of this type of attitude from the moderators I have quit posting here as often as I used to. I understand the board has become huge and we needed more moderators, but you can't harness people's opinions when you don't agree with them. None of us were name-calling, bashing or anything else. I was appalled at the manner in which this poster originally stated his experience. I spoke up. Am I not allowed to do this? It seems to me that there are those who can and those who can't.

I've done my best to NOT resort to name-calling or poster bashing because it is not in-line with the rules of the board. However this has been done towards me and it makes me think that the rules only apply to those who post often. If I'm stepping on people's toes here, I won't apologize for it. I, too, have every right to speak for myself and state how I feel. Many won't agree with me. Well, that makes the world more fun, now, doesn't it?

That's all I have to say.:|

Hi realistic :)
I think you might be missing the point as to why the thread was closed. It was not closed to "snuff out" different opinions, or your opinion, it was closed because the thread was turning into an argument between some posters and varied off topic...which was a post competition report.

Any thread in the forum that starts to go that way will be closed, because we don't want threads to escalate into fighting or name-calling, etc. It's our call to make, and it's not easy, but we've been given the responsibility to make sure runs smoothly and stays civil. No opinions are censored (unless they're vulgar...lol), and all differing opinions are welcome as long as people can remain civil when debating them. It was clear that thread was on the verge of getting heated...that's why it was closed. Please don't think it was a slight against you, because it wasn't, OK? :)
