Instructions for posting a picture.
First, read the guidelines in the MKF FAQ.

To make the picture appear in the post, enter it as follows:
[ i m a g e ](whatever)[ / i m a g e ]
where (whatever) is the URL of the image. In this display I had to add spaces to the word "image" inside the brackets to prevent it from posting as a failed image rather than my intended text. Remove the spaces to turn the bracketed items into correct image codes.
In my case the picture of the horn is in my personal web site which is hosted by my ISP. Since it is in my server it complies with the MKF guidelines. I took the picture with a digital camera, resized it to comply with the size limit in the guidelines and uploaded it to the site. Once the picture appeared in the site, I could read the URL by right-clicking on the picture and then clicking on "properties" in the dialog box that opened. Unfortunately I had to type the long string of gibberish manually because I could not find a way to copy and paste from the dialog box.
In my case the image code is in the personal signature. The following URL will take you to the Account Preferences page in the MKF Control Panel.

This page has a Custom Signature box near the center. You can type anything you want in that box, including the image code. Make sure you enable it by putting a check mark to the left of "Use Custom Signature:"
You can test it by previewing a test post. Put a check mark alongside "Preview" before sending it.
